Just lost my older brother today. This song is helping me cope. I hope that Home Free knows how much good they do in the world. It is much more than just singing! You guys helped me grieve today and have kept many people sane during the pandemic. You may never see this, but thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I know that it's been 5 months brother. But I hope things are going better for you. My prayers are with you. And like you I've recently lost two. My father left to be with God in late January, and my wife of 6 years left to be with God in late May. Home Free is one of the groups that has helped me to get through this as well.
My condolences on the loss of your loved ones. Take it a moment at a time. These talented singers can elicit so many varied emotions. God put them here to share this gift of healing with us during difficult times, covid, and world craziness. My prayers are with you. Enjoy the beauty too and know that we will see our loved ones again someday.
Sorry for your loss. It's tough loosing a sibling. I lost my sister in '03, she was 18. I think about her dang near daily. Cherish the great memories y'all had together. Talk about him every chance you can & get. It's probably still tough... it'll never go away BUT it will get easier.
5/9/23 I agree 1000% and then some. Expertly done. Thank. I didn’t think people sang like that anymore. You can also understand what they are saying ❤🎉😊
This song brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. The thought of how many wonderful people we have lost is stunning. There is a great saying, “every time an older person dies a library burns down.”
I lost my younger sister to brain cancer this week. I have been listening to this so she found her way home where there is no more pain. She was only 58 and traded her pain for her Heavenly Angel Wings. I feel broken but also relieved. 🦋💕🙏💔🌹🇦🇺
I sang this song for a dear friends funeral . It was a difficult thing to do, but the family really loved it and appreciated it so much. This song is so beautiful. This group does a remarkable job.
We lost our 25yr old son last week and this kept showing up on my phone and I finally listened to it today. Thank you Lord for your mercy and grace. I look forward to the day when we are reunited.
Sorry for your loss, Doug. I also played this at my mother's funeral in Dec 2019. I especially liked that they work Amazing Grace in there. A very talented group.
Gidster1 I agree. PTX is the best at the genre they cover. Home Free is the best at they’re genre. Compared side by side, they both set bar for acappella music. Home Free’s harmonies are definitely better in my opinion though.
Dennis Johnson ya I always love listening to Home Free more than ptx. Their only songs I like are Daft Punk, Love Again, and Hallelujah, while I love all of Home Free’s songs. It’s just that ptx came first so that’s why I think they’re more popular. Also some of it might be that they cover a bigger music genre, but Home Free does too so idk. I love Home Free with all my heart, and they will always be number 1 for me! ❤️
We just played this song at my brother's funeral, and it was acapella. He died unexpectedly at 46, I never in a million years thought I'd ever say that. I'm broken, my parents are broken, and so are his two boys. This song brought me to tears at his funeral, it's speaks so much about our grief.
From Fort Worth, Texas. I bet there'll be people in 2024 too. I still love this song. This song brings tears to my eyes. This song touches my heart and soul. Thanks a bunch Mr. Vince Gil.
My cousin, KC, lost his battle with drugs on 6/11/19. We were closer than brothers. I couldn't say goodbye. That was until I found this. Thank you so much. God bless. Edit: it's been two years since my original post. I've now returned to morn my stepfather. Miss them both so much.
You will give as proof of your claim Ephesians 2:8-10 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. But as a Christian you must agree that the Bible was written by individuals who were moved by the Holy Spirit to write it exactly as God directed. So we must agree as Christian’s that the Bible is completely true or if parts can be ignored, discredited or as many try to claim some parts are not foundational and don’t have any impact on our belief that Jesus is Gods son sent to die for our sins, and arose from the dead. Timothy 3:16-17 2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV [16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: [17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. All of it is profitable, and can be used to perfect us in Gods site. Galatians 1:6-9 KJV [6] I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: [7] Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. [8] But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. [9] As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. The above verse along with Jude 1:3 KJV [3] Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. Discredits anyone who claims to have been given some revelation from God, an Angel, a self declared Apostle… the scripture is the one and only source for the entire belief system of someone who claims to be a Christian and following Christ. Jude says it was delivered ONCE for all. (Mormons will leave your porch when you show them 2 Tim 3:16-17 Most people who believe what you said and will use the verses in Ephesians as proof for salvation by grace/faith alone will claim that reciting a “sinners prayer” which goes as follows: "Lord Jesus, I want to have a personal relationship with You. I know I am a sinner and I believe You died on the cross for my sins. I turn from those sins and put my faith in You right now to be my Lord and Savior, my God and Friend. Thank You for hearing this prayer. I pray this in Jesus' name. Amen". There are many slightly differently phrased prayers but basically this is the idea. This is a very recent doctrine and is first recorded in 1940 by Bill Graham. One last point and if you want to have a productive back and forth address this next verse and tell me what is occurring in the passage. Explain how the individuals Jesus is speaking to would not meet the standard for how one is saved that you are claiming via Ephesians 2:8-9. Matthew 7:21-23 KJV [21] Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. [22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? [23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Jesus statement says calling on his name, declaring him son of God isn’t enough. Those who practice salvation via a sinners prayer would be in that group. What did Jesus say they lacked? They didn’t do the will of the father, and they worked iniquity. Which is to say without authority or outside of Gods will. Normally the responses to this information will be more verses that also seem to be saying what you claim. But that doesn’t address any of the arguments I’ve raised. We have to have a harmonious understanding of the entire scripture. Quoting other verses that are in line with Ephesians doesn’t explain the massive volume of contradictions that are just as much Gods word as any other. So why didn’t Grace and faith save the people in Matthew 7. Why did Jesus use the action verb ποιέω/forth to explain the requirement they failed to meet.
Lost my Grandpa 3 years ago, he was a candidate for the Country Music Hall to sing there and be signed on. He toured with Eddie Rabbit and was singing and playing the guitar ever since he was 3 years old. He gave his life to music and when the time came, this was the song chosen to be played. I sing myself and it was the most emotional moment of my life thus far singing this song in his funeral service and thinking about him every time it plays. Thank you Home free for making a rendition of this song and sending chills and happy tears every time it is played.
I was in the parking lot during lunch at work playing this song in my truck and unintentionally got an audience of a few coworkers with my singing. I hit that amazing grace word for word in the lowest tone possible and shocked them. Thank you Home Free for helping me find my confidence in singing
I am a 76 year old woman and I love all of your music, but especially your gospel song. They remind me of when I was growing up and we would get together after church and listen to different people sing and play their music {with guitars and bandjoes
This song has a special meaning for my wife and I as we lost our youngest son in 2017. As it happened, Vince Gill's original was the first song we heard on the radio the day of his funeral. Thank you Home Free for covering this song so beautifully. To my baby boy Elijah, 2 years in this world was far too short. Mummy and Daddy miss you so very much but we will never stop loving you. Fly high with our Lord sweet angel
We pray that you will find peace and rest in the way God has touched your family. Gods ways are perfect, His love for you is beyond your comprehension. Be blessed 🙏
Rest in peace Elijah. He is waiting for you two and will be over joyed when his dad gets to throw him up on his shoulders once more and feel mother's lips on his forehead. To him it will be in the blink of an eye. You have to take the long road but you will make it.
Kris Weems- In no way was I discounting the greatness of Vince Gill. His voice is pure gold-Until Vince joined the Eagles, I thought of him as a solo artist-one of the best ever. He takes a back seat to no one. What I was trying to say is that the 5 guys in Home Free harmonize as good as any group I have ever heard.
@@Weems09 It's not a competition, it's a respectful homage to Vince's song/delivery/meaning..These amazing all lead singers, songwriters, arrangers, multi-instrumentalists who love a cappella, are incredible in their own right..This was simple beautiful/meaningful..Just sayin'😊
My dad's favorite song. We played at his celebration of life. After losing the breast cancer battle. He's a pastor. He wanted to make sure that his family and friends understood. He's whole and healed. Looking forward to the time as I pass between the veil of time to eternity.
My troubled daughter died this last month no drugs except medically prescribed.... she finally found happiness . God gave that last blessing And allowed that peace for those of us left here knowing she left here happy . Now she is with her younger sister and grandparents that were so beloved . I just wait to be together again.
I recorded this for one of my CD's in the late 90's and at first it did not get too much attention but then, one by one people started telling me that it was played at their Mothers, or Brothers, or Dads, or Aunts or whatever loved ones funeral. And then I had the experience of singing it at my own Father's funeral in 2003 via CD. I could not do it live because I am so easily overcome by emotion. But what a great song Vince Gill wrote here. You guys just sing the wheels off of it just like you do everything else you sing. Bless you guys. You all have a God Given voice. Thank Him that you found each other!
Every time I hear this song, whether it’s at any given person’s funeral or in any other situation, it gets to me. I really don’t cry much, especially for a female. But this song turns on the waterworks almost every time. 😭 The lyrics and the melody are just gorgeous.
I've been listening to this song for years. So in this difficult month. My partner passed away unexpectedly three years ago. He was then sixty. Finally he had the peace that he did not have here on earth. This song makes me cry every time. Home Free sings it with so much emotion. Especially Rob's voice. Because even though I love all the voices of Home Free, I don't know why, but with Rob there is always a special feeling through my whole body. Sometimes it gives me goosebumps. And not just with this song. Also many compliments to the other members of Home Free. You guys are just too great. Please, stay together forever. You are so unity. The harmonies, the inhuman beatboxing, the background, the high and low notes, the choral sounds etc etc.
I agree, There is something about Rob's voice. The songs where he take lead are my favorites. I listen over and over. And this one will probably always be my number one. And I want them all to stay together always.
My mom just died. I got to say goodbye to her for the last time through a window with a timer on even that . Thank you for this beautiful reminder that this world with all its evils is temporary.
I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. Way too many stories like yours. We weren’t allowed to be with her until just a few days before she died. By that time, she was gone - her body just hadn’t stopped.
Sorry for your loss. I lost my Father to covid complications last August. He beat two types of cancer over the years just to get taken out by this junk. 😢 I do know that I'll see him again. ☺️ This song is wonderful. May God grant you peace.
I've sung in a lot of choirs, and I can tell when members listen to each other to achieve great harmony. These guys are really blending well. Beautiful!
It's what they do..... (rare)......... You want harmony? Check out their Auld Lang Syne ua-cam.com/video/gFcSfqYqHs4/v-deo.html and Helplessly Hoping ua-cam.com/video/kQt9jKDCqHo/v-deo.html
We lost a good friend recently, and I was looking for a song to post on facebook in tribute and My first thought was Home Free. Once again, they don't disappoint….just wish the circumstances were better....
Oh WOW!!! Near to perfect as possible. Unbelievable chills. The sound is just phenomenal --- such harmonies are off the charts! Thanks Country Rebel!!!!
These guys are great. People putting them down means they're idiots. I'm not really a huge country music fan but they really pull at my heart strings and I am enjoying them immensely.
This group truly amazes me. My son has Cerebral Palsy and is Autistic and he loves this band. It's his comfort music. He is 3 and I am pretty sure he is one of your biggest fans.
My sister just passed away this morning at 10:30am. Lost for words. I miss my sister so much. I got the news today my heart is 💔 right now. I know she is in a better place now with no more pain or sickness
I'm almost 66 years old and I want to see Home Free in concert before I die. That is my wish. Praying they come to a place near me. Thank you Home free for your beautiful music it fills my heart 💜
I love this song. I can't listen without crying. My brother was murdered at the age of 22. He was always troubled. How I wish I could see him again. He died in 1976 and pain never goes away. You just learn to live with it.
Carly Young - I promise you that you Will see your dear brother again... He is the same as he was on this earth, and is very close to you.. I hope the pain will ease up for you sometime... Just remember - families are forever... Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus the Christ, would have it no other way.. God Bless you and your family.. Fran Danco
Lyrics: I know your life On earth was troubled And only you could know the pain You weren't afraid to face the devil You were no stranger to the rain [Chorus:] Go rest high on that mountain Son, your work on earth is done Go to heaven a shoutin' Love for the Father and Son Oh, how we cried the day you left us We gathered round your grave to grieve I wish I could see the angels faces When they hear your sweet voice sing [Chorus] Amazing grace How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me I once was lost But now I'm found I was blind, but now I see [Chorus]
Gwinn Johnson I lost my dad 37 years ago, and occasionally a song like this will bring him to mind, and I can’t hold back the tears. I don’t care how weak that makes me look, he and Mom were too special to me not to still feel the holes they left, every so often.
I can't believe they did this song!! This completes everything I ever needed!!! Thank you Homefree!! I can never ask for anything else!! Keep up the good music!!!
When it’s 0039hrs and your baby girl (3yrs)has been screaming for hours which makes your lose you mind, you’re getting so angry ….. but you stumble on this on UA-cam… Gave my baby girl a hug and cuddle till she was back to sleep! Thank you 🙏 ❤
One of the most beautiful songs ever written. Adding a verse of Amazing Grace in there somehow made it even better. I'll admit, every time I hear this song, I shed a few tears for those that have gone home to God before me. Sad for my loss, and happy for their eternal joy. A blend of tears to say the least. Thank you gentlemen for sharing this song through your vocal talents with the rest of us. God Bless,
I know Vince Gill is so proud . This was played at my Sisters funeral. And it touched the heart of so many that was there. I’ll always remember her and I miss her dearly. She was taken from us way too soon but she was suffering with lung cancer and it was her time to be out of pain. Tears are just rolling down my my face. They also played amazing Grace your chains are gone. It’s so hard for me to listen to These songs because I have lost everyone in my family but one sister. 🥲
Made me think of my deceased son. Had a dream of him in heaven being an angel and helping people from up on high. He was 24 when he died. In my dream. He was his energetic 4 year old self saying he liked it there.
The death know not anything and death is but a sleep is what the Bible says. Man cannot become an angel. If he loved God and follows Him faithfully, he will be resurrected as Christ comes in the first coming of Christ to take his followers home. Read Revelation. Consider why anyone would be resurrected if they were already in heaven. Having said that, I realize so many are comforted by this believe. But how can anyone be in heaven without judgement first. God bless you, I also lost my sister to cancer and it took me over 10 months to recover from that pain.
I'm in tears right now. Emotions all over the place. I lost my Mom and shortly after loosing mom I lost my brother to cancer. We played this at their funerals. I miss them both so much. I was real close to my mom. She was with me when she passed. So Mom you and Brother James Go to Heaven shouting for your work here is done. I love you both and miss you. Thank you guys for such a beauriful song and beauriful voices to sing it. God Bless you! God Bless all that have lost a dear loved one. They are with the Lord but forever remain close in our hearts. 😭😭😭😭😭
It's been almost 16 years since my dad passed away and we played this song at his funeral. This is the best cover I have heard of this song and it gives me nothing but a reminder of the great memories I have of my father. Thank you Home Free for this! Been a fan since way back before the Sing-Off.
Adam, I'm very sorry for your loss. It will be 20 years here in a week since we lost my dad, way too young. Hearing this song heals and hurts all the same. Chills again listening to it. The only thing better is hearing them sing it live!
Find our Heavenly Father....🙏 Matthew 7:11 [11]If therefore ye, being wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much rather shall your Father who is in the heavens give good things to them that ask of him?
When I was a little girl, my daddy always told me, to play this song at his funeral, I remembered my whole Life. When he flew up to heaven, nov 6, 2018, I kept my promise. And the old rugged cross, he loved them so much and music like this, is comforting, even though so heartbreaking:)
When my husband committed suicide ten years ago, this song comforted me for many months as I played it repeatedly for hours on end. It strengthened me to deal with the unbearable pain. It has a special place in my heart and I still listen to it. Thank you Vince Gill.
Living in a small community where if you don't know somebody, your neighbor or another friend will. Our schools, youth sports and churches brings many of us together. When you work within the community like some of us do, you make new friends every day. Today, our community learned that we lost yet another young life. The loss hit many of us hard. And as we look up to the skies and ask "Why? Why was he taken? He was so young and just started his life's journey. " we struggle to find an answer. Tonight, when this song came up on my list, it was meant to be played. Tears were shed as it played. That could have been my child. Son, rest in peace. Your life on earth will not be forgotten. May God bless you and your family.
This was posted 3days after my brother's funeral, it was my late grandfathers favorite song now I have to listen to it everyday to remember that they are in a better place.
I saw Home Free in Cincinnati a couple years ago! What a wonderful concert! I was in balcony and Tim made my seat vibrate with his bass voice!Once Covid is fixed will be in line to get tickets again! God Bless us all!
Song in my hesrt when my nephew died overseas last year. He was so young and so loved so giving. So young lived life to his fullest. Gave it his all.this song is so oncredible written by Vince Gill. It makes me cry evertime I hear it. Thanks beautifully done you all. Blessings
Oh WOW!! As I sit here with tears in my eyes, listening to this amazing rendition of a beautiful song, I can see the faces of loved ones that have passed. Home Free, you did a hauntingly great job with this. It is one of my favorite songs and the cut to Amazing Grace!! WOW just WOW!
ShannyRanae1971 yeah it made me cry the first time hearing it. I’m currently crying rn because I miss my neighbor so much. She died a year and a half ago tomorrow. This made me think of her 🙁😭
This song was played at my cousins funeral. He died at 32, to the day I can still feel everything the second I hear this. So we'll done, yall never disappoint. Got me all in my feels today ❤
I've had many health scares over the last 10 yrs--tried to check at 4 times. So, I made a list of songs for my funeral. Upgrading my list This AM with this rendition. Still kicking one step at a time!
So beautiful. You sang this at the last Dallas concert on March 10, 2018. You could've heard a pin drop. I was afraid to breathe. I didn't want the song to end.💜
I have not listened to this song since my daddy died back in 2014, I just never could get through the song since it was played at his funeral. this gives me chills listening to it
I want to thank you for singing this song. It was played at my dad’s funeral 10 years ago and I never could listen to it again. I made it through your version with tears streaming down my face, having a good long cry afterwards. My father was a huge part of my life and I miss him every day. Thank you for helping me heal
My auntie just passed away this morning and this was the song that I went straight to. I have played it over and over I don't know how many times. Thanks Home Free the best version out there
That was incredibly beautiful. No matter what they're singing, they always blend beautifully in harmony, and they just seem to exude warmth and friendliness.
I've heard Vince Gill, Allison Krauss, and Ricky can't think of his last name. Sing this song and it sounded divine. This however, is truly poetic. No music to, lose their voices, their harmonies, pitches, rifts are perfect. I just closed my eyes and listened, and it felt like I was sitting in church with them. Bravo Gentlemen
Just lost my older brother today. This song is helping me cope. I hope that Home Free knows how much good they do in the world. It is much more than just singing! A group that can sing like this does not need musical instruments.
Their voices are their instruments ‼️💖‼️
@@joanwharff6483 Amen!
First saw Home Free in Cincinnati 3 years ago, coming back in Nov., can hardly wait! My most favorite group!
Still waiting for them to do Canon in D, -- if ANY accepella group can pull it off, it's these guys.
5/9/23 I agree 1000% and then some. Expertly done. Thank. I didn’t think people sang like that anymore. You can also understand what they are saying ❤🎉😊
I bet Vince Gill is so proud that his song has touched so many lives.
Why wouldn't he be? Love Vince Gill, also love Home Free!
We played it at my father in law funeral
If that doesn’t touch you you might be a liberal
Not Vince Gill’s song but he definitely made it famous lol
@@jeremygoff9868 you are wrong.
He said he wrote it. He started and stopped then he had another death in his family and finished writing it
I had the Vince Gill rendition of this done at my husband’s funeral. It’s a testament to his life.
Hello there Louise nice meeting you here
Never heard anyone do this Vince Gill song justice. Only Home Free can make me cry as hard. Such a touching song. Awesome guys❤️
My sister just passed, it doesn't feel real yet. I need to cry, so I came here.😢😢

Very sorry for your loss. God has a plan for all of us. God is good all the time no matter what . God bless u
We played this today at my stepfather's funeral... Was fitting for a West Virginia music man. God bless you all, thank you!
Hello Sarah..
This song touches my heart and soul I cry every time I hear it. Thank you Jesus christ my savior for ever Amen.
Hello Deborah..
Me too.Amen!
I used this version at my brothers funeral in Dec. 2019.
Home Free is such an underrated group. God Bless y'all.
Sorry for your loss, Doug. I also played this at my mother's funeral in Dec 2019. I especially liked that they work Amazing Grace in there. A very talented group.
God bless your family. May God send your family the comforter.
My condolences for your loss. That was very fitting because Vince Gill wrote it for his brother.
@Grace Schumacher Sorry for your loss! They are a wonderful Group!
Eternal rest grant on to Doug's brother oh lord, guide him to heaven and may your perpetual light shine upon him.
There just are not enough words to say how PERFECT this is....
But there are tears. So many tears.
@@davidlawrence2204 Best Concert in a long time! Love Home Free!
I know exactly what you mean!
So many tears. Such a perfect song.
Have you seen Home Free in person, I was in balcony and Tim's voice made my seat vibrate!
Thank you for posting this deeply meaningful song. I feel the presence of God when I listen to it.
I love Home Free! Very under rated! It kinda pisses me off that they don't get the respect they deserve!! Best Country Group out there, right now!
They’re as good or better than Pentatonix
Nate Eller they’re the best group PERIOD.
God and his spirit validates them regardless of whether the human race under rates them! Quality over quantity!
Gave me cold chills!! Very seldom is a cover song as good as the original, but man, this one is as close as it gets. Absolutely beautiful!!!!
Hello Carolyn..
This has me in tears. Nov 9 will mark 10 years since my Dad died and he loved this song
We just played this song at my brother's funeral, and it was acapella. He died unexpectedly at 46, I never in a million years thought I'd ever say that. I'm broken, my parents are broken, and so are his two boys. This song brought me to tears at his funeral, it's speaks so much about our grief.
I know your pain man, stay strong.
You can't preach me to Heaven. Only God's grace will get me there.

[8] But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. [9] As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
The above verse along with
Jude 1:3 KJV
[3] Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
Discredits anyone who claims to have been given some revelation from God, an Angel, a self declared Apostle… the scripture is the one and only source for the entire belief system of someone who claims to be a Christian and following Christ. Jude says it was delivered ONCE for all. (Mormons will leave your porch when you show them 2 Tim 3:16-17
Most people who believe what you said and will use the verses in Ephesians as proof for salvation by grace/faith alone will claim that reciting a “sinners prayer” which goes as follows:
"Lord Jesus, I want to have a personal relationship with You.
Matthew 7:21-23 KJV
[21] Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mr. Vince Gill would be very proud of this arrangement. Nicely done, gentlemen!
Hello there Patricia nice meeting you here
My wife is in Hospice Care. I really needed to hear this today.
Beautiful. Makes me long to meet Jesus now. I love my God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit!!
I am very sorry for your loss! Your family is in my prayers!
🙏🕊☝️💝👼
We pray that you will find peace and rest in the way God has touched your family. Gods ways are perfect, His love for you is beyond your comprehension. Be blessed 🙏
Rest in peace Elijah. He is waiting for you two and will be over joyed when his dad gets to throw him up on his shoulders once more and feel mother's lips on his forehead. To him it will be in the blink of an eye. You have to take the long road but you will make it.
I lost my oldest child when she was two. My heart is with you and many prayers.
They absolutely kill this song! My favorite version by far. Home Free is my absolute favorite with their such beautiful harmonies.
Whoa! What a wonderful rendition! Just when you think it can’t get better...IT DOES,
This is great singing love it
Holy crap that was amazing. Perfect pitch, beautiful tone and harmony that takes a back seat to exactly no one. Such a gift. Thank you for sharing it.
Robert Purser take a back seat to Vince Gill
@@starparent I so agree, best concert I have went to in years!
@@starparent I agree! Saw them in Cincinnati 3 years ago, best concert ever!
My dad's favorite song. We played at his celebration of life. After losing the breast cancer battle. He's a pastor. He wanted to make sure that his family and friends understood. He's whole and healed. Looking forward to the time as I pass between the veil of time to eternity.
I cannot imagine NOT playing this for my man... if he goes before me... His work is done.. and .... my man.. did alot.. Green Beret!
My troubled daughter died this last month no drugs except medically prescribed.... she finally found happiness . God gave that last blessing
And allowed that peace for those of us left here knowing she left here happy . Now she is with her younger sister and grandparents that were so beloved . I just wait to be together again.
Hello Charlie. How are you doing?
I recorded this for one of my CD's in the late 90's and at first it did not get too much attention but then, one by one people started telling me that it was played at their Mothers, or Brothers, or Dads, or Aunts or whatever loved ones funeral. And then I had the experience of singing it at my own Father's funeral in 2003 via CD. I could not do it live because I am so easily overcome by emotion. But what a great song Vince Gill wrote here. You guys just sing the wheels off of it just like you do everything else you sing. Bless you guys. You all have a God Given voice. Thank Him that you found each other!
Home Free will always be one of my favorite groups!
Every time I hear this song, whether it’s at any given person’s funeral or in any other situation, it gets to me. I really don’t cry much, especially for a female. But this song turns on the waterworks almost every time. 😭 The lyrics and the melody are just gorgeous.
@@jdkilpatrick2000 I agree! After seeing them in concert, I am so hooked! Love their voices!

Praying for a better year!
My mom passed away 3 years ago. My brother in law sang this song. Was such a blur. ❤
I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. Way too many stories like yours. We weren’t allowed to be with her until just a few days before she died. By that time, she was gone - her body just hadn’t stopped.
@@patriciasnyder6915 I am so sorry for your loss and this sad ending of her story. God Bless.
I lost one of my parents to cancer at age 59 this past January. I had them play this at the service. It was perfect.
Sorry for your loss. I lost my Father to covid complications last August. He beat two types of cancer over the years just to get taken out by this junk. 😢 I do know that I'll see him again. ☺️ This song is wonderful. May God grant you peace.
My dad was also 59 when he passed a week before Christmas last year. One of the best men I ever knew taken out by cancer.
This is now my second favorite version of this song....only second to Mr Vince Gill!!!!!
I agree!
Just add One Vince Gill.

We lost a good friend recently, and I was looking for a song to post on facebook in tribute and My first thought was Home Free. Once again, they don't disappoint….just wish the circumstances were better....
Home Free is such an amazingly talented group of guys individually and together. They never disappoint. Kudos!
Oh WOW!!! Near to perfect as possible. Unbelievable chills. The sound is just phenomenal --- such harmonies are off the charts!
Thanks Country Rebel!!!!
I TOTALLY AGREE!!

Hello Judith..
This was played at my brother in law’s funeral in February this year.. Beautiful song.
I'm sorry for your loss...My husband died in February of this year...he always requested this song at a little live music bar we frequented...
I'm going to remember my grandfather and do what you guys are saying
So beautiful, Chance's bass sounded so good. Love it
I love this song.

Hugs to you 🤗
Lyrics:
I know your life
On earth was troubled
And only you could know the pain
You weren't afraid to face the devil
You were no stranger to the rain
[Chorus:]
Go rest high on that mountain
Son, your work on earth is done
Go to heaven a shoutin'
Love for the Father and Son
Oh, how we cried the day you left us
We gathered round your grave to grieve
I wish I could see the angels faces
When they hear your sweet voice sing
[Chorus]
Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost
But now I'm found
I was blind, but now I see
[Chorus]
Thanks

Gwinn Johnson I lost my dad 37 years ago, and occasionally a song like this will bring him to mind, and I can’t hold back the tears. I don’t care how weak that makes me look, he and Mom were too special to me not to still feel the holes they left, every so often.

Best version of this song I’ve ever heard
One of the most beautiful songs ever written. Adding a verse of Amazing Grace in there somehow made it even better. I'll admit, every time I hear this song, I shed a few tears for those that have gone home to God before me. Sad for my loss, and happy for their eternal joy. A blend of tears to say the least.
Thank you gentlemen for sharing this song through your vocal talents with the rest of us.

Find our Heavenly Father....🙏
Matthew 7:11
[11]If therefore ye, being wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much rather shall your Father who is in the heavens give good things to them that ask of him?
When I was a little girl, my daddy always told me, to play this song at his funeral, I remembered my whole Life. When he flew up to heaven, nov 6, 2018, I kept my promise. And the old rugged cross, he loved them so much and music like this, is comforting, even though so heartbreaking:)
Hello
