The Meta Quest 3 is great but it isn't without its issues. Well one of the problems with the Quest 3 is fixed by this super cheap accessory that was actually made for the Quest 2 but works really well with the Quest 3.

I got it based on this video and it did improve comfort, but I've found that it works significantly better if I turn it upside-down. It doesn't reach down as much in this orientation, but the lower part didn't connect to the back of my head anyway when used "correctly" so it's a definite improvement. I also added a small velcro strap in the superfluous strap holder (which is now on the lower part) to conveniently hold the link cable.
So glad you made this video. I had one of these laying around from my Q2 that I used for months before upgrading to a BoboM2 for the batterypack and even more comfort. I ordered Bobovr's version for the Quest 3, but it won't get here for weeks.
I absolutely cannot stand the default strap. Hurts my face after 20 minutes. Already tested this and it feels worlds better and will hold me over until my new headstrap comes in. I also used a piece of foam and velcro to attach a batter pack to the back, which has worked surprisingly well.
Glad it helped. Good to hear so many have them laying about. I pushed them quite a lot in Q2 times 😂

Bought one of these and it is SO MUCH BETTER. I no longer feel like the strap is riding high on my head. Excellent accessory to tide me over until BoboVR comes out with their M3 strap/retrofit kit.

This works! Until the Kiwi or another good elite strap comes out, this'll do. A fair amount more comfortable. Attached the Kiwi battery strap to it. Works, but on the lower portion of this accessory due to the "Y" strap of the default Quest 3 strap. Not an ideal attachment of the Kiwi battery strap, but, hey, we're in early days here. Doin' what works for now, right?

yes , i did the same but with the kiwi deluxe audio strap one that give a spare circle because some people had a too tiny head and puting 2 ring helped . So since i give the full quest 2 setup that i had to my bro , i kept one ring to put on my strap that i fixed by using some velcro as tape . Work really well until bobo vr or kiwi make something perfect for the strap . I cant beleive this headset dont come with something to clean the lense .

Justngot bored of Quest 2 stuff and the ebike stuff also took over. Otherwise i would have probably done other none q2 related vr videos.
I grabbed a strap on Amazon for $30 that also has an external battery. It counter balances the weight nicely so I don’t feel like I have a weight on the front of my face. And the top strap has a cushion on it. 10/10. I ended up getting a similar one for my old quest 2 as well.

I bought one because of your recommendation years ago and thought it was very good. I get my quest 3 tomorrow and hopefully this will save my buying an elite strap
Hope it works for you. I'll end up getting something with a battery then swapping back and forth as needed.
I found that the quest 2 pressed against my ears with the original headstrap, but I'm not having any issues with the Quest 3 headstrap. I'm still going to change it over, but personally, it was a huge improvement for the stock strap not to press my ears into my head.
Hurts that import + deliver is almost 60$ to my country (without the product value)

Other companies sell it too, like Kiwi Design. I got this and due higher mount point there, i add velcro piece for upper strap part and it fits just good.

Yeah I had the kiwi one but never tried it. Same principle I suppose although you have to remove the strap as the loops are enclosed iirc.

By hibloks. Decent for a quest without a large strap.
I loved the original strap on the quest 2, it makes storage easier, it sticks to my bald head without too much pressure & I can lay down and watch films in it in most angles.
But the quest 3 strap is so uncomfortable, the 2 tabs at the back seem to be located right at some pressure point on my head making it uncomfortable for any long period of time, there’s always a excessive pressure on my face & no matter where I position the ears/arms of the headset it always interferes with my ears as the strap is wider than that on the Q2.
But by far the worst point of the quest 3 is the angled screens, they create aliasing on every horizontal & vertical line that I just can’t unsee.

Yay! I've missed your VR videos.
Coincidentally, I have literally just come here from a web chat with AMVR asking about a Quest 3 version of the head back padding and couldn't see the Quest 2 version on their website. They said they currently don't have any plans for a Quest 3 version, but had seen a surge in interest for the Quest 2 version and were wondering why.

Ah thanks, good to be back - oh cool, yeah they put the price up by a pound too. I noticed they didn't have it on their site which is weird as it's their best q2 strap. If people are buying aftermarket expensive they go bobovr or kiwi. Their pad is a nice cheap alternative. Luckily it works for Q3 👍
The problem I am having is the fact that I can’t view VR videos above 1080?? Not all vids but most cap at 1080. Even videos I posted personally on my “z cam tester” page vr 180 content. I hope it’s a quick fix
Yeah that's annoying. Apparently youtube has no issue with Quest Pro so no idea why it does with Quest 3. Fingers crossed it gets fixed fast.

It's meant to hug under the base of the skull. I'm a tiny lady and haven't had any issues. Glad it fixed it for you though.

It would cost very little for Meta to mass produce these and a silicone face covering, that would make the Quest 3 a much better experience out of the box. As they have a huge problem with retention, they must be crazy to make the Q3 first experience uncomfortable? Shocked that they didn't comprehend this, it makes me think they could have serious problems, if their rivals decide to go for the budget VR/MR market. Meta going for selling expensive accessories, with a cheap headset, makes no sense to me.

I got my quest 3 and elite strap at the same time and ordered some knuckle straps from curry’s which arrived two days later,my quest 3 is proper comfy 😃

legit why the hell dont meta include this with the basic strap it seems so obvious, I guess they really want you to buy that elite strap upgrade.
Yeah something cheap like this would stop them making loads on the non battery elite strap.
The battery drains twice as fast as the Quest 2's, and it's a lot lighter weight making it more comfortable without an elite strap, but the biggest problem isn't the battery life. Nono, the biggest problem is that while it's more comfortable than the Quest 2, it's not comfortable enough?

Why they just not move battery and chip from front?
On one hand it's a good idea for balance etc but it also makes it hard to mod with new straps.

I told them that if it's still 16.99 this evening I'll remove all mention of them from the video. In the meantime kiwi design make one for £9.99 search 'kiwi design quest 2 headpad'. Sorry guys!

Definitely the head strap! Mine started to bruise my head in back, because the little plastic loops started to dig in after a few hours. I stripped the Velcro cushion out of a broken Quest 2 head strap, ran some corresponding Velcro loops around the Quest 3 strap in back, and everything held together perfectly.
The face interface and lack of fit pack for wider fit is the biggest problem. Very uncomfortable. Honorable mention, the lack of quest 3 optimized games. Red matter 2 looks incredible and there’s a lot of hype for the updated graphics for into the radius, but that didn’t come close to red matter 2.
I ordered the retrofit kit from bobovr.

People all crying over the strap when the most annoying problem is the battery draining faster than recharge, annoys the living shit out of me.
I don’t experience that problem. Perhaps you’re not using a block with a high enough wattage output.
Wasn't the price you said with 5% code....ended up been £9.50. I've found the stock strap ok, but i'm sure this will make it better. Something which will put me on till i buy a battery strap. Oh, i also ordered the Baomaeyea vr silicone cover eye pad you might want to take a look at.

the q3 headstrap is an utter disgrace this is a near £500 device lets not forget . by far the worst out of all 3 quests and its delibarate
