I’m starting band camp in like 2 months and I’m kinda scared bc my school takes marching band SUPER SERIOUSLY we won second best in state and Ik they have crazy high expectations
My freshman marching season ended already and I don't think I'm mentally prepared for my sophomore one, it's a great time but the seniors leaving is the worst part 😭 EDIT: HI GUYS!! IM A SENIOR NOW
@@J_Pulido2299 I'm the only flute now :( there are other woodwinds for section leader thank god WHSJDJ we have a small band of like,, 30? It's upping to 40+ next year 😭
Im starting my first band camp in 3 weeks and I’m actually terrified. But this makes it seem so much more fun than what I’ve imagined; just the vibe throughout the vlog gives me a lot of hope for band camp #1
My first season was last season in seventh grade (our school is small so the marching band is actually 8-12 grade with selected seventh graders) and I can agree band camp is probably the hardest part about the season but it’s one of the most fun. Like half way through our last week of band camp our towns fire department came and hosed literally everyone off it was so fun.
It’s nice to see how other’s band camp and marching styles are, my band camp was a week long thing at an actual camp lol. Wake up at 6AM and out until 11PM (with breaks in the middle of the day and a 10-11PM event) It was fun nonetheless and it was nice to grow closer to my team and get better at marching and playing; loved the vid
It's my first time at band camp too. It was really fun in my opinion. I'm about to have my first football game in highschool and marching in front of a crowd. Wish me luck lol.
Omg, that last rep was so emotional. As hard as it was I'm gonna miss band camp. (Also my truck casually sticking out like a sore thumb during the ensemble block was hilarious lol)
Omg my marching season ended and I'm a freshman the only bad part about band is watching the seniors leave. It's like you build a bind with so many people and they leave. But the best part is building another big family, which I actually see more than my own is so cool. Making a big group of new friends and having a lot more new experiences. 😁👍🙃 Also I'm a trumpet 🎺🎺 Like if your apart of the trumpet gang 👇
Honestly kinda sad that I only have 2 years left. To freshmen going into it work hard and cherish every moment of it. It goes buy fast and you will defiantly make life long friends in it.
My first band camp is in 3 days. For some reason ours only lasts for 3 days, but I am super excited. I’ve been working my butt off this summer (going into it without being in a band for 2 years due to COVID) im hoping it pays off!
My band camp lasts 3 weeks🥲 it’s 5 days a week from 8 to 3, and the last two weeks I also have volleyball tryouts and practice 2 hours 2 times a day🤩 I’m actually gonna be dead by the time school starts
We don't really have a marching band but we have a day in the spring where they have a parade and we get to do that. But I started in 5th but we didn't get to do it cause of covid 😭
@@thefuturemillionairebanddi4528 yup and I got basically a warm up year because that was Covid year and we didn’t do as many competitions so the music was easy and fun
It's my first year doing marching band, and I'm so scared because I'll be missing half of band camp. Ours is 8 days total; Mon-Thurs two weeks in a row, and each day is from 8 to 5. One of the weeks I'll be on vacation, so I'm really scared about being able to learn fast when I get back.
With a 3 week band camp how did your band deal with students who go on vacation and such. How did you catch students up who have to miss a huge portion of it.
They were highly highly highly encouraged to not go on vacation. "Known quantities" like students marching drum corps or quality returning sophomores, juniors, and seniors were basically given a spot. Freshman were automatically given an alternate spot. Freshman that were late got a crash course from drum majors or staff (when we could spare staff).
someone give me advice, should i do advanced band my freshman year if i did beginning band 8th. I heard it was difficult but heard it was fun. please help me out!
Is band camp hard being a pre me? I’m a pre me and I’m not confident in my self at all and idk if I even want to do band camp but I feel like I would miss out on opportunities since my ms band teacher says I’m good when confident but that takes a while for me to be comfortable with people I don’t know
me watching band camp vlogs and romanticizing band camp even though i know i’m gonna be so sore and miserable after my first day
Not if you start preparing now!
Bro same 2 more days
I started a few days ago and im still sore.

A real camp away from everything for a week. I bet that’s really fun, actually!

The guy in the spot next to me lost his shoe during our first show of freshman year. He went back to go get it!!!!! Like, dude! Leave the shoe!!

I start band camp tmr and I’m a freshman. I’m a bit nervous but I’ve heard nothing but good things abt it
Hope it went well! Drink water tonight!!!
My band camp is 8-11:30 outside doing sets on the practice field, 11:30-1 lunch, 1-4:30 sectionals and then full ensemble, 4:30 go home
That’s a pretty normal schedule. We had something like that when I was teaching.
We have a few days were we need to go from 6Pm to 9Pm as well
Huh, I didn’t know that other bands mark time in holds. I thought staying still or in 2nd position was the norm.
taking my second year in marching band as a freshman this year, its gonna suck because I have surgery a week before it stars
I’ve never seen a band that uses both contras and sousaphones! Very interesting!
I’m a freshman and I doubted my parents would want to hear me do drums but I’m thinking about trying to join next year
Go try! Go for it!

start working on your cardio and have good friends to make the experience better.
