THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! It worked! My scooter was running rough, dying at idle, not starting forever, waving revs, hesitant on accelerating. New oil, spark plug, filters, valves adjusted did not remove the problem. Then I watched this vid, cleaned the injector (it actually had some fine sand in it) with a brake cleaner and OMG started at a touch!! It has never started that easy!!! I’m so happy 😀 and grateful!!! Made my day!!
Do you know why the gasoline keeps coming from the tubes once you release it from the injector? I’m trying to work this out but can’t stop the gas coming

This one got me out of trouble, having bought my Vespa Sprint 125 and sitting 160km (like 100mlíles) away from the dealer, which is closed over the hollidays until 01-09-23. I am from Germany, but my little Diva is from Italy, like all of them.

Had a problem with my girlfriends 2009 gts 300. Returning home from Isle of Wight rally this year. The injector worked intermittently manage to get it sorted using a cable tie round the connector and injector body. Made it home ok replaced the injector.
Where would we be without Robot.

I love Vespas, for a short while I owned one, a Millenium T5. Alas, I am six foot two and I never really fitted on it very well. I still wish I had kept it though, even as a centre piece for my living room - it looked gorgeous. It will be worth a fair amount now I imagine.
The modern Vespas are a lot larger than the more vintage ones. Try a test ride on even a primavera or a sprint and you’d be surprised!

Sometimes I pulse the electric connector and just use a necked down red tube directly into the injector inlet to clean off the pintle that moves back and forth. Interesting that the injector will stay open. I like the compressed air trick - on some cars the injectors wont stay open like that - vespa made it easier to clean out. Thank you Robot for making this. Your name is being mentioned in Vahala. ALSO - is there a tiny mesh-metal filter on TOP of the injector? If so its really smart to replace it (can use a flea-market dental pick to pierce it and pop it out AFTER you have the new one in hand - ive found marine shops are cheap to clean injectors and they have all orings and mesh filters in stock and some even have ultrasonic cleaner methods to boot - if you dont want to risk a house fire. I always do the cleaning in the side yard after a friend had a minor garage fire working on FI and burnt up his cars harness.

I have a 2014 GTV300 that sat for many months as had some medical challenges. Now it operates fine EXCEPT it will not idle and stalls out. It will start right back up with no problem, but sure is a disappointment when it stalls. I have run a jug of SeaFoam thru it and that did not help. Since it runs fine at partial and higher throttle, could the fuel injector be the culprit?
From what I have heard, this unstable idling can be the result of faulty recognition if the throttle-pickup I know there are procedures to re-programm the idle-position of it or test a faulty sensor, but I can't remember. Maybe Robot can make a tutorial... ;-)

Hello thanks for the video what the piaggio mp3 500 has the same injector cleaning procedure.
Just what I needed to see as my 2015 Primavera has same issue. The fuel pump was replaced and the scooter ran for a while then started choking and died out.

Hi, been looking videos, to keep up on old ET4 and many thanks, they are been very helpful!! And as an pre bigger vespa training cause family keep pressing that "we need" bigger vespa to commute.... BUT realised that you never use preventive anticorrosion/ electricity additive spray on connectors!! and been learning that it is good practise on bikes/ cars, helps good connection and life on connector.... so any reason for not to use???
Think I'll try a small cut down plastic cup to collect fuel instead of rags.
As far as a battery goes could you use a new 9volt or a low current 12v d.c. brick?
Robot - your videos are great. I have a 2012 VESPA GTV 300 - I rode it 20 miles a week ago then I started it yesterday to move it around in my garage and everything was normal. I shut it off and tried to start it about 20 minutes later and it would fire up for about one second then stall. If I tried it right away it would simply turn over without firing. If I let it sit, it will fire and run for about one second. Any ideas?

The problem is some ppl doesnt ride for months in the winter ....a few years ago i had some issiue with my injector the dealer placed a new injector ...yestersay after 3 months not riding same problem as 4 years ago i did what robot say.even my old injector 4 years ago i tested it now run now fine and this costed me almost nothing i got carb turbo clean at home im very happy now my gts 2013 supersport runs perfect now.thx alot greeting from belgium.

Would this removal method be necessary for a scooter that was cutting out , like a couple of sputters and then suddenly a dead stop ?, My Primavera 150 with 8500 miles has started this, worse after it gets warm , not even hot. And then won't take off for a while, just stumbles.
For our general information here, Do you consider injector additive worth trying, or go directly to this removal and cleaning ?

I suspected this to be my issue. That first clip you pulled off from the fuel line to the injector... do you know where to get a new clip? The white piece inside was broken into three pieces - looks like it should only be two. Only part I can find is from Vespa and includes the whole line
Do we still need to prime the fuel line even if we know that the fuel pump is working properly? My Vespa runs and drives but the idle is rough - it sat for a few months. Hopefully cleaning the injectors will solve the issue!
Can you make tutorial to clean throtle body vespa3v ?
I have a 2007 Piaggio mp3 250 IE it have 3,080 miles on it only problem I have on it engine light comes on and back fire when going down the road! I changes out the spark plug wire and spark plug because it had old champion spark plug and looks like never been change since 2007 by the dealer its was tested bike when I purchased it used! I want to do this because my gtv300 has been sitting for 7 yrs. But that risk of a fireball is scary. Can we take the fuel injector out and let it evaporate for a few hours before cleaning it? And can we just clean it without connecting it to a bulb and battery?

Couldn't you just use a 9 volt battery to activate it for cleaning after removing it, instead of using a light to reduce the voltage going to the injector? I've used 9 volt batteries when testing solenoids on my car. I would think that would work, and that the injector could handle 9 volts.
