@@peacefulruler1 Floyd is beautiful, thoughtful, introspective and timeless whilst LZ is pretty much dogshit rocknroll for braindead people. The only actually talented musician in LZ was JPJ. Jimmy Page is sloppy and not a good guitar player at all. Bonham was an incredible drummer but thats it. Robert Plant is just not the awesome singer that people make him out to be. He has no class and he is pretty much just loud. JPJ was a better bassist than Roger Waters, but Waters never aimed to be a bassist, but a lyricist and songwriter. Floyd often had Gilmour or Snowy White play bass on the records and live. As for the difference in drumming, Nick Mason plays for the song. He isnt some incredible drummer, but he always does what fits perfectly for the song in question. Everyone in Pink Floyd played for the songs. In LZ they just played for the sake of showing off and not really serving the song. The only song that i do not get tired of listening to by them is Fool In The Rain, but thats just because of the Piano and Drum parts. Led Zeppelin is JUST a rocknroll band. My dad plays keyboard and piano, and over the years I've found how unappreciated these individuals are. We're all so focused on guitar, bass, and drums that we often forget the piece that's holding it all together. RIP Richard, you were Pink Floyd!
Evan Riley yeah but everyone constantly raves about Rick Wright (because he was fantastic) so I don't think that he was undervalued but in other bands that is true
what an spiritual and emotional explosion in my mind while listening to the solo of this song holy fucking shit it never changes , an absolute masterpiece
Well, in that case, I'd believe Gilmour isn't like us mortals at all, he's something way different then any of us can ever be. This might not be the case in other fields but definitely true in music, he has contributed things that can never be replaced :)
I'm not a relgious person at all, you could call me an atheist. My father was very strict on this when i grew up. But listening to David Gilmoure's guitar solos i feel like God himself/The Universe, a greater spiritual force is trying to tell me something. And i really like what i hear :)

"Time" and "The Great Gig in the Sky" are the two songs I want played at my funeral...so powerful...and yet so simple. Classic Floyd in every respect. As Claude DeBussy was famous for saying "Music is the space between the notes"...and how he must have been thinking of Pink Floyd when he uttered those famous words...
I just have to thank God !!! After 12 years in the queue for an organ can be blessed. I am at home super happy recovering from the organ transplant (which was successful) and listening to my favorite bands, which was fundamental for the construction of my character and my principles and ideals. Pink Floyd, led zeppelin, metallica, Iron maiden among others that I enjoy a lot were my great therapists in these difficult times of my life, I just have reasons to thank. Rock still lives!
There is something organic about this. There are maybe 8 different tempos in this song and you don't really notice the changes other than that the feeling i somewhat different. It really fits the music. Wonderful video!
I cannot imagine any person of any age not appreciating the awesomeness of this absolute genius masterpiece of music. Called time but it is Timeless in my mind. I can’t count how many times I have listened to this over the past 40 plus years and every time it is as good or better then the first time. I would give anything to go back and and do it all again just to have more time.
You could feel the heat alright. Especially those white hidden lights across the front of the stage that came out of nowher. Did't think it was possible to see sound move before that night.....
Born in ‘89. Dark Side of the Moon was the first “album” I “put on” on Dad’s Hi-Fi and listened to in its entirety. One of the best albums, if not the best, of all time.
I was born in 1972. My mother bought the Dark Side Of The Moon album a while after it came out and I remember listening to it back then when she played it. I must have been 2, maybe 3 years old. I particular remember this track. I felt comfort listening to it back then. I still do.
I was 19 when this came out. I’m 67 now. I could never imagine then being old. Through out my life these words have resonated through my soul. I’d give anything to go back in time to then when I didn’t hurt, feel bad , have headaches. I was carefree, happy and had my whole life in front of me. I’ve made so many mistakes and bad choices all I have left is music.
To think that I'm now 47 years old and only just realized how amazing how each and every member of this band is it until about 10 years ago. I feel like I missed out on a lifetime of Pink Floyd. Fortunately their music will live on forever.
can't believe it's been this long since Kay and I saw this live in Melbourne,,,,25 years since we parted...25 years of hell. One day I might see my daughter..I do love you AMBER CORBETT, Dad.XXXX
Im 61. When my kids were little i used to play Floyd all the time. They seemed to hate the music, as kids all dislike their parents music. About five years ago my son was visiting my place with his young family. He and his wife were in the room next to me. They were upta sumpin in there..then i noticed they were listening to dark side of the Moon. Brought a tear to my eye. This was the song
I grew up with my dad playing Floyd all the time and thats the reason why i love Floyd now and i always have. During every single holiday my dad would put on the Pulse DVD during the evening. I would just sit and absorb everything that i heard.

I’m an American, I was lucky enough to drive north from Portland Oregon where I lived to see Floyd live in British Columbia, I believe it was 1993 or 1994 and it was their last world tour, nobody knew at the time that Pink Floyd was going to break up soon. I never got to see Led Zeppelin, I was a little too young to see them when they were still together and touring but being able to see Pink Floyd in my early 20’s in B.C. was definitely one of my all-time favorite concerts and a close 2nd to being able to see The GREAT Led Zeppelin.
definitely one of my favorite videos. perfect. Guy Pratt. you thump brother. has to be an honor to play with your father in law . I miss him too. not to mention David and Nick. awesome.
I am 30 now and listen to pink floyd since i am 10. I remember the times every Sunday my dad put in the vinyl of the wall and we kids are listened to it. We loved it. Even if we couldnt understand what the songs are about. On one day my dad asked me if i wanna see the wall the film. And i was shocked and fascinated of it. That was the first time of 50 i guess that is saw this masterpiece. At the age of 16 i found other pieces of pink floyd like "time" and "alans psychedelic breakfast". I am so happy that my father showed me pink floyd and shared his youth with me true this music and the stories about it. Like his wild times with women and the shit he had to deal with these days in germany. But this all makes me sad too because in one day he will be a memory too. like his youth. BUT.. i got that shit on vinyl. And Dark Side of the moon too. White.
me desculpem as outras bandas mas não dá pra comparar com nada , muito acima das outras bandas e sempre muito a frente do seu tempo, Pink Floyd não é só uma banda é um gênero musical, ninguém faz ou fez nada parecido musicalmente....
Mark Knopfler is better in my opinion. The solo of Sultans of swing in Alchemy IS flawless. Don't get me wrong, Gilmour and Pink Floyd surely are legends, but I find Knopfler a bit better than Gilmour with a 🎸
Dave Gilmour, Mark Knopfler, Hank Marvin, Jimmy Page, Slash, Prince, Jimmy Hendrix..... all top musicians, each in their own way. Everybody's going to have a different opinion all due to their own POV but doesnt mean anybody is right or wrong its simply a matter of taste isnt it👍👌

+Led JM AGREED! Best band ever, and David Gilmour is the most soulful guitarist ever :)
for me too and i'm looking to attend one of his concerts this summer :D
+Led JM in going to his show in April! can't wait
Proper music and real talent ❤️ pink Floyd ❤️
what an spiritual and emotional explosion in my mind while listening to the solo of this song holy fucking shit it never changes , an absolute masterpiece
I think that this version is the best I ever heard...
This what the Gods sound like.
And i really like what i hear :)
no one cares
@@adambridgewater then by "god" he would of probably meant like the beginning of time or like a creator of some sort not necessarily being a human but a cause lol. Thats if he was an atheist.
wait God sounds like some EMG pickups? ok
I heard this song when I was 6 years old. Now I'm more than 50 years old and I'm still crazy!
Agreed , just being ourselves , no mask , what you see is what it is !
this reminds me what we used to call MUSIC,just pure and soulful
"Time" and "The Great Gig in the Sky" are the two songs I want played at my funeral...so powerful...and yet so simple. Classic Floyd in every respect. As Claude DeBussy was famous for saying "Music is the space between the notes"...and how he must have been thinking of Pink Floyd when he uttered those famous words...
Well that makes sense that Pink Floyd and Debussy are two of my favourite artists of all time. I didn't know DeBussy said that. Thanks for the info.
I'm pretty sure he was just talking about note intervals...
@@diegosalesfacundini4296 Debussy was probably talking about both the intervals between the notes and the space in between the notes in times.
I think I actually had an eargasm.
eSco Probably. Their music is eargasmic
I am officially earroused
Yes hahaha when the solo starts Wooooow amazing
5:32 right there
Ear or Brain?
The guitar solo is amazing. . The song is as relevant today as when it wss performed back then . It never gets old.
Hello Nancy Lewis, how are you doing today? I'm glad you're a fan and it's my pleasure meeting you here. Is this track one of your favorite songs?
I just have to thank God !!! After 12 years in the queue for an organ can be blessed. I am at home super happy recovering from the organ transplant (which was successful) and listening to my favorite bands, which was fundamental for the construction of my character and my principles and ideals. Pink Floyd, led zeppelin, metallica, Iron maiden among others that I enjoy a lot were my great therapists in these difficult times of my life, I just have reasons to thank. Rock still lives!
Congrats man. The very best to you. Enjoy every day. We all shouod remember they are a gift.
There is something organic about this. There are maybe 8 different tempos in this song and you don't really notice the changes other than that the feeling i somewhat different. It really fits the music. Wonderful video!
Essa música me fez acordar. Acordar pra vida!
existem bandas de Rock e existe Pink Floyd!
One of the most technically gifted and creative, British bands of all time. Dave Gilmour’s guitar sound is spectacular
I cannot imagine any person of any age not appreciating the awesomeness of this absolute genius masterpiece of music. Called time but it is Timeless in my mind. I can’t count how many times I have listened to this over the past 40 plus years and every time it is as good or better then the first time. I would give anything to go back and and do it all again just to have more time.
the best band of all time!
Impossivel ouvir um som desse e sequer derramar uma lágrima. Lindo e real!
Concordo plenamente com vc amigo.... Principalmente se vc focar no baking vocal.... Me acabando de chorar Aki... Grande abraço
I was there you could feel the heat from the explosions on stage.quality.
You could feel the heat alright. Especially those white hidden lights across the front of the stage that came out of nowher.
Did't think it was possible to see sound move before that night.....
Mothafucking dope shit man...U r so lucky to have been there
smart words 🙏Really life is not so long... live "here and now"
Do you think they actually realised how good this really was ……..Epic live performance 👌
‘No one told you where to run, you missed the starting gun’ That guitar interlude right after... jheeze
Born in ‘89. Dark Side of the Moon was the first “album” I “put on” on Dad’s Hi-Fi and listened to in its entirety. One of the best albums, if not the best, of all time.
The song is what it is I didn’t understand the true meaning when I was younger but now I’m 50 and I definitely get it
I was born in 1972.
What advice would you give to yourself at 19 if you could?
Never tire of this track , perfect gaps between lyrics & instrumentals , powerful then delicate , weird and familiar , stonewashed jeans 😎!
To think that I'm now 47 years old and only just realized how amazing how each and every member of this band is it until about 10 years ago. I feel like I missed out on a lifetime of Pink Floyd. Fortunately their music will live on forever.
Love the look Rick gives during the “desperation is the English way” line. Makes me miss him even more.
sadly I've not experienced Pink Floyd 's music live, so very envious of those who have. thx and rock on
la banda más grande de la historia lejos
Uma das maiores bandas de rock da história!

Dude, have you found her yet? Wishing you all the best
That's way too depressing for us that came to be taken back in bliss.
right to the soul
Heart. It was made with All Heart.
Absoutley the greatest of all times there music will live forever just heard a 22 yr old jamming to this🙏🙏🙏💪
Best of the Greatest music makers
Its so true. My favorite row is "
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.
Ahhhh...
(Oooh ahhhh)
So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.
Thanks Richard, rest in Peace. Thanks David, Nick.
I’m an American, I was lucky enough to drive north from Portland Oregon where I lived to see Floyd live in British Columbia, I believe it was 1993 or 1994 and it was their last world tour, nobody knew at the time that Pink Floyd was going to break up soon. I never got to see Led Zeppelin, I was a little too young to see them when they were still together and touring but being able to see Pink Floyd in my early 20’s in B.C. was definitely one of my all-time favorite concerts and a close 2nd to being able to see The GREAT Led Zeppelin.
this song is pure art
the right song to reflect about the life as the time is passing by.
ESSE CORAL DAS MENINAS E DE ARREPIAR AMO ESSA MUSICA....
Até me emociona, elas são espetaculares

Brilliance is brilliance. A wise gut churning song puts my heart in my throat everytime...
What a legend that David Gilmour. Had some of the best guitar solos in history
definitely one of my favorite videos. perfect. Guy Pratt. you thump brother. has to be an honor to play with your father in law . I miss him too. not to mention David and Nick. awesome.
gilmour's solos.. nothing better.
White.
Relevant at 70! Been a fan since the early Sixties CLASS ACT!
Espetacular, tempos de talentos maravilhosos.
Pink Floyd is on another level of prog rock. I mean seriously you have to be some kind of genius to write this.
Dave Gilmour never hits a bum note live. The only guitarist I've heard that doesn't and the best guitar tone.
Oh yes he does. Check Sorrow and Comfortably numb the uncut versions :-)
@@AlexDrastico380 Exactly. I love Gilmour but he is human aswell and not at all flawless.
Everybody's going to have a different opinion all due to their own POV but doesnt mean anybody is right or wrong its simply a matter of taste isnt it👍👌
Gilmour’s guitar playing has its own voice that you can recognize. It’s amazing.
I saw them live in Houston 1994...1 dream completed
After all these many years listening to Pink Floyd , I still enjoy listening to their music over and over and always will , was lucky in 80's to see the Division Bell tour in Memphis Tenn. Music lives on forever and so will Pink Floyd from their early days till now.
i’m 16 and i just started listen to pink floyd this song in specific makes me sad for some odd reasons
Your first existential crisis, well done !!!!
im in my late 60s this music still effects me like it did in my 20s so proud of our generation of music and bands it was magic and these songs will stand on its in own in 100 yrs
Incredible track with a real meaningful message about life...time is the most important unit...
+TopCatsBack incredible track of an incredible album - meaningful messages - us vs them, death, money, politics - it will be meaningful probably forever
I used redial on the phone for 10 hours to get tickets for the opening night. When I got through the opening night tickets where long gone so got tickets for the following night. On the opening night proper a section of stand collapsed & people where rushed to hospital from Ears Court.
I left Scotland for thi gig & the last thing I saw on the news was that a fleet of ambulances where on their way to Earls Court....... I was gutted, thinking there's no way it will be open for the next night but it was...... So I got to the opening night after all. Gig of a lifetime. Truly awesome as the Americans wld say.....
Perfeita! A melhor música sobre o tempo.
pink floyd is simply untouchable..... they are literally there own genre
GIGANTES DE LA MÚSICA, SALUDOS DESDE CHILE
Truly one of the greatest art rock songs every made.
im more a metal fan but some of floyds stuff is so cool ,before their time

Philophy of life. If you do not find the sense of your being, your life is running without sense.
Thank you David and Pink FLoyd.
Love how Gilmour just rolls up in a black t-shirt and a pair of jeans and busts out some crazy solos
The true connection to ones soul can only be achieved by the Pink floyd 🌹
Sem dúvida a maior de todos os tempos (Time) 💙 !
22/10/2018 não será o David Gilmour no Brasil, mas verei Roger Waters, em Belo Horizonte/MG Brasil !!!!
Come Back To Life 🎸💙💙🎸
I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE AT EARLS COURT AT THIS CONCERT
WOW WHAT AN AMAZING MUSICAL EXPERIENCE I'LL NEVER FORGET
FLOYDD ARE PROBABLY THE GREATEST BAND EVER
My friend's parents were actually at this specific concert, recorded for the Pulse CD. Just throwing it out there.
I was there.......
I had the amazing blessing of being at this show and let me just say that was a once in a life time experience. People all around me were crying like they just witnessed their dog being killed and I didn't take in how deep their songs were until I went and saw them live.
Floydastic!! 💓
the chorus to this song might be the most beautiful piece of music ever written...me and my cousin saw roger waters live and when the chorus to this song was played we just sat down and started crying, one of the greatest nights of my life
Música maravilhosa quando escuto até me arrepio !!!!!!!!!!!!
This song feels so different during quarantine.
A MELHOR BANDA DE TODOS OS TEMPOS!!!!
I was put in the beginning of the millennium generation but I am so so greatful both of my parents introduced me such greatful music. I definitely appreciate great music like pink floyd.
Lyrics
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
Fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.
Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.
So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.
Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say.
Home
Home again
I like to be here
When I can
When I come home
Cold and tired
It's good to warm my bones
Beside the fire
Far away
Across the field
Tolling on the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spell
Pink Floyd the BEST ! Il n'y a pas de mot pour le dire ! Mais que le temps est dur !!! Même les plus grandes Stars vieillissent.....
