Pink Floyd - Time - Live at Earls Court, London

  • Taken from "Pink Floyd Live at Earls Court -- P•U•L•S•E"
"Time" is the fourth track from the English progressive rock band Pink Floyd's 1973 album The Dark Side of the Moon, and the only song on the album credited to all four members of the band, though the lyrics were written by Roger Waters.
This song is about how time can slip by, but many people do not realize it until it is too late. Roger Waters got the idea when he realized he was no longer preparing for anything in life, but was right in the middle of it.
A live version of the song can be heard on the Pulse DVD and CD.

Time is slow when you wait, fast when you are late, short when you are happy, long when you are bored, endless when you are in pain, and deadly when you are sad, Every Time, time is determined by our feelings and our psychological conditions, not by clocks, so Always remember to have a nice Time...

This song has a great great message. If you are teen or below 25 years of age. Don't waste your time thinking you are young and life is long. Because one day you will find years went by just like that and you couldn't do anything you wanted.

Uhm, Pink Floyd... Absolutely! Zep, nah. Average (except for JPJ, who was the brains behind them). And there's no comparing the two. PF was far, far ahead of Zep in every way. Song writing, live performances, musical talent.

      @peacefulruler1 4 роки тому +22

Chris T I love them both but LZ has far better musicianship at all instruments and vocals than Pink Floyd.
Pink Floyd’s major strengths are imagination and original songwriting. All the singing is weak, and the drumming could be replaced by a drum machine.

    • @DonHaka
      @DonHaka 4 роки тому +23

@@peacefulruler1 Floyd is beautiful, thoughtful, introspective and timeless whilst LZ is pretty much dogshit rocknroll for braindead people. The only actually talented musician in LZ was JPJ. Jimmy Page is sloppy and not a good guitar player at all. Bonham was an incredible drummer but thats it. Robert Plant is just not the awesome singer that people make him out to be. He has no class and he is pretty much just loud. JPJ was a better bassist than Roger Waters, but Waters never aimed to be a bassist, but a lyricist and songwriter. Floyd often had Gilmour or Snowy White play bass on the records and live.
As for the difference in drumming, Nick Mason plays for the song. He isnt some incredible drummer, but he always does what fits perfectly for the song in question.
Everyone in Pink Floyd played for the songs. In LZ they just played for the sake of showing off and not really serving the song. The only song that i do not get tired of listening to by them is Fool In The Rain, but thats just because of the Piano and Drum parts.
Led Zeppelin is JUST a rocknroll band.
Pink Floyd is on a completly different level. I can't find the right words for what they are, but they are far better musicians than the entirety of LZ.

      DIDUKNOWDAT .URANIDIOT?
Dark Side of the Moon is pure genius. However, all the rest of their albums are mediocre. If they never had Dark Side they wouldn’t even be famous.
Please list Pink Floyd’s 3 best songs.
Floyd beat to death the thing about Syd Barrett; they’re the ones who kicked him out of the band and basically discarded him. To try and make like they loved and cared about him was the hugest hypocrisy.
None of the Floyd musicians are above average. The drumming and bass playing and singing are all club musician level. The main thing they brought is originality and imagination. The talent and skill were often borrowed from sax players, vocalists, and friends talking in thick accents.
I can tell by your rudeness that you’re just a kid. You’re not old enough to realize that Led Zeppelin created THE pattern for heavy rock that nearly everyone else copied. I can also tell that you don’t know the depth of the songs on their albums.
Page and Jones were studio musicians on many 60s hits before Floyd ever formed. Bonham invented heavy rock drumming, and Plant invented the long haired open shifted lead singer persona.

Shorter of breath and one day closer to death" Time becomes precious, and you find " ten years have got behind you, no one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun." Great song, and PROFOUNDLY TRUE. Time slips away and you can never get it back. I would give 5 years off my life to have my babies back in my arms for 5 minutes again. There is something organic about this. There are maybe 8 different tempos in this song and you don't really notice the changes other than that the feeling i somewhat different. It really fits the music. Wonderful video!

    Lyrics
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
Fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.
Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.
So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.
Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say.
    Home
    Home again
    I like to be here
    When I can
    When I come home
    Cold and tired
It's good to warm my bones
    Beside the fire
    Far away
    Across the field
    Tolling on the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spell
