I can identify. I am 56, 5'6" tall and almost 180 pounds. I have been a vegetarian for decades and I don't drink alcohol, as I don't like how it makes me feel. But there are a lot of processed vegetarian foods that are so unhealthy and pack on the pounds, especially for someone my age (I want to eat like I did in my 30s when I was120 pounds -- talk about denial!). I keep losing weight and I can get to 160 and then I plateau; I haven't been able to get past it. I tell myself I won't quit when I hit a plateau ... but I always do. I just get frustrated and don't have an outlet for it. I need to change but it is so hard to start when you physically and emotionally feel like hell. When I was working as a field biologist I walked an average of 18K steps daily but since losing my job, I have been so sedentary. Thanks for sharing your inspiring story. I will watch it a few times and see if I can make something click. As always, you look beautiful :-)

Hi Kelly! Thank you for visiting! I know just what you mean about the processed foods. I do still have some that are processed but I try to read all the labels and scan every item before adding them to my shopping cart. I hope my video is helpful in some way. I know what it feels like to be down, depressed, and unhappy. It is not easy starting. Try taking baby steps to start off with. Sending big hugs! xoxo

You look gorgeous and could pass for 30's! Your story is a lot like mine with regard to low carbing and cutting out sugar! When you mentioned your joint pain going away, that's something that I had in my early 20's and when I started the Atkins diet at 26,joint pain and a lot of other ailments dissappeared! Like you I do not take meds but if my body were like it was in my early 20's and before, I would probably be sick like so many others. it's decades later now and I am so grateful to low carbing and the Atkin's diet! Also I personally never liked red meat but when I started the Atkin's diet and started eating it, I felt healthier and stronger thank I ever had in my life! I'm not really a meat eater, and would like to be vegetarian, but that experience with the red meat making me feel so much healthier was a huge surprise. Also I used to get colds and had upper respiratory problems as a kid and up till starting low carbing, but since then I rarely have any colds or anything of the kind! You are so inspiring Marlene!!

Oh, but one word of caution! I used to be good (low carb) most of the time and then have whatever I wanted for birthdays etc. WELL, one word of caution to folks who may be doing this, a few years ago at my hubby's birthday I ate lots of goodies and then the next day and ever since, have had problems with my feet and legs. This was from ONE NIGHT of eating stuff like, pizza cake and beer, when I'm so good most of the time. That was it. I can not ever go crazy with anything high carb or sugary now at all, or it will give me this problem. It's improved, but it's still there. So a word of caution to anyone who does that, just a word. I'm great and feel wonderful in my 50's but that is something that happened to me personally. Wonderful Channel Marlene! You're very inspiring!

Hi, thank you so much for visiting! That is such great advice. You are absolutely correct. My one or two days per week that I grab some of my extra points is just for those foods I usually don't eat such as pasta, pizza, or ice cream. When I have pizze, I have no more than 2 slices. If I order pasta, when my plate arrives, I portion 1/2 out to take home. I don't eat a lot; I eat in moderation but just foods that I love and higher in points. I appreciate you pointing it out! xoxo

Ok I’ll watch this later. I gained 20lbs the past two years. I’m only 5’2” so that’s a lot for me I feel like garbage. One thing I did change was drinking water at night instead of iced tea or juice. I didn’t realize how much calories I was drinking. I love sugar. It’s like a drug to me. Ok I’ll watch or listen to you in the car. Thank you lovely lady.

Very motivating. Small changes that I can relate to. I am 68 and have been a chronic dieter for 30 years. 3 x WW and would plateau @20 # losses 1st 2 times. Just restarted 3 weeks ago after Noom for 5 months . Good psychology but not a good fit for me. Plateaued with Noom at 7. #. Too much reading. I have tried many of your suggestions individually, cider vinegar, IF,calorie counting. I did lose 60 # in 6 months 2 years ago when I was diagnosed with stage 4 tonsil cancer which resulted in intense chemo and radiation. All of my nutrition and water had to be taken through a feeding tube. I came within 5# of dropping under the 200 mark. However…… despite having a lap for the first time in many many years, I was very malnourished as I had only been able to consume @ 750 calories a day through the tube. But I was so grateful to have survived the treatments and despite the side effects of an inability to swallow for many months, loss of saliva glands and hearing impairment and damaged thyroid, I do feel pretty well and energized. So far no recurrence of cancer other that some skin cancer surgeries. My weight has rebounded and have regained 50 of the pounds I lost. Anyway…. Sorry to write such a long post but wanted to let you know your journey reinspires me to keep trying WW with some old tricks by including some old strategies. Keep sharing your story and I will check in as well as subscribe. Thanks again Marjorie from Georgia US

@@BlingyBea Hi! Yes, I'm doing WW only online. So far, I've been posting each day's meal points. There are so many delish zero point foods that I stay full. I think that if I eat too much of those zero point foods it will defeat the purpose and I won't lose any weight. It's going slow for me because I'm not excersising and I'm pretty sedentary. I may get a treadmill soon. I live in a bad area in NYC and don't think I'll be taking walks in my neighborhood anytime soon. WW has virtual classes I think. I may try that later on.

Hi Marlene! You look fabulous! Thanks for sharing your story and your tips. Congratulations! 80 lbs! Woohoo!
I have been doing intermittent fasting, since my teenage years without knowing. I'm not a breakfast person. So, it's easy for me to fast. But, I joke that I'm an ant. I prefer to have sweets instead of healthy or any other kind of food. On 2019, I weighed 200lbs. I made some adjustments and lost 30lbs, but I have gained 15lbs. I need to stop eating sweet. During the lockdown, I started watching some baking videos. Now, I make homemade cakes, flan & cookies, which doesn't help. I like to walk, it's a stress reliever. But, during the summer months, it's too hot. I need to focus. Thanks for sharing! It helps to know that it's possible. You are a real person that we can identify with. You're not part of a TV ad actor or something like that. We can see the difference. You look younger and glowing.
    I'm happy for you.

Anxiety and stress. I can relate. I care for an elderly family members both disabled and suffering from dementia, but they don’t realize it. One is like a child and the other is demanding, always complaining and very abrasive, as well as imagining things about me that are just not true. I have to listen to her say terrible things about me. I too had gained a lot of weight, then lost it on keto. However I got to a point, always being exposed to triggers, where I quit caring.
I’m in a spot where the only place I can go to get away is doing the grocery shopping which is a chore. I’m trying to do the fasting now. I hope I can be successful because right now I’m just tired deep in my bones. It would be nice to have a friend to walk and talk with or a dog. The dog is a “no go” due to my abusive family member saying, “NO DOGS!”
🙄 I’m so at my wits end. Thanks for sharing your inspirational story, and I appreciate all the wig reviews! ❤️

I have done IF for about 6 years, before it became famous. It helped me but just as the rats in one of the experiment, last year even in my normal weight my tummy (and weight) started to grow a lot. With a cleanse (3 days water fast) the weight came back to my normal (I have never been overweight) but I have more abdominal fat than ever although I am very muscular (I worked out every day and I eat very healthy). Sounds to me you are carb counting. Is that correct.

Hi Elda, thank you for visiting. I follow Weight Watchers and how I've lost all this weight. When I started hitting plateaus, I decided to make a few changes to see if I could break through the plateau. I just cut back on high carbs such as rice and pasta. I changed regular rice to cauliflower rice, pasta to chickpea pasta, and lowered my bean intake to about 1/2 C per week, but always staying within the WW plan. xoxo
