    Marlene, this was very helpful. I rejoined WW in July 2020 at 63 and you are right, it is much harder to lose in your 60’s than when you are younger. I have been on WW before when I was younger and dropped very quickly. However, even though it’s slower, I have been losing and no matter how long it takes, I’m committed to keeping it off. You are so encouraging. Thanks for sharing your heart.❤

    Marlene, thank you so much. You inspire me lots!! I am 64 and 5'1" and weight about 220#. I am not happy with myself and I know I need to be! I have a disability where I can't walk for exercise, so have to depend on eating healthier and trying harder at that with not depriving myself. Thank you!!

    This is so encouraging I joined WW last week and my knees and back are killing me I'm so overweight but this first week I lost weight and I don't feel deprived...you look so young!

    Such great advice! Don’t deprive self, don’t get hungry, drink water, treat self and bo ok with it, increase fiber, walk small bits throughout the day, don’t bring the temptations home but go out for them now and again. Lose weight to feel better and for our health.

    Good Morning, Thank you for the video. I really needed to hear this. I've been on WW for a while now and still struggling with the same first 5 pounds. Every time I feel like I'm eating something that I shouldn't I just give up. I get so mad and upset at myself. I've done Low Carb and I guess that's where my mindset still is . I'm getting my butt in gear getting on track and going to start moving. Thank You again for your inspiration 💖

      Hi Angela, thank you so much for visiting. Please keep in mind there are no foods that you shouldn't be eating. Try to eat foods that you enjoy, use your points, and monitor your weeklies. The weeklies are there for you to use. If you want to have a meal that is pretty high in points, perhaps portion it out. Save part of it for the following day or freeze it for the following week. The most important thing is to not deprive yourself. Remind yourself there are no foods off limits. If there's a day or two that you have more points than your recommended, that's ok too. Just go back to your points the following day. Try not to give up carbs (we need them)... if you love bread, consider Sarah Lee 45 calorie or Thomas Light English Muffin. If you just want that pasta, then have it but perhaps eat half a portion. Be kind to yourself. You can do this. xoxo

    Hello Marlene. I just found your channel a couple days ago and you are great. First of all you look so beautiful, healthy and so young! I’m 53 and about 200 lbs. going through menopause and having a thyroid condition I’ve put so much weight on and it’s been difficult to lose. I recently started the new WW and I’m enjoying it. Years ago I did keto and lost a ton of weight but then gained it all back. I need something more sustainable. I’m a fellow Cuban (from NJ) and I love my rice. You say you don’t need rice and you enjoy cauliflower. I can’t seem to like cauliflower rice. Ive tried so much. So I keep having regular rice but smaller portions. I also try to stay away from sugary stuff just as you mentioned. Thank you for all the tips and advice. Sorry for rambling on. Lol. Have a great day and God bless you.

I need to lose 20 that I did lose with keto for my daughter's wedding but my boyfriend doesn't eat at all the way I need to so I need to prepare my foods separately! Thank you for doing this video!     I so appreciate your honesty. I’ve done WW several times... have lost.... then gained. I’m going to be 65 in Nov and have never been this heavy.... knees hurt...etc. Am so miserable. Plus after having COVID a year ago... still not able to taste much at all. So why go to all the trouble of cooking great food when you can’t taste? 🤦‍♀️. Because I can’t .... I unfortunately have gone to wine nightly... which isn’t good! Right? So that must stop. After watching this.... I’m rethinking WW again... and possibly going to try again. At 65... you hear about our hormones and how it affects the weight loss struggle... pills and fast answers....but that’s not the solution at all. Thank you for sharing your journey. Because you’re my age... I’m encouraged once again! I would love to get back into those clothes in my closet that are lonely! Size 6 would be divine.... that would make me so happy! I did it once. I could possibly do it again! 🙋‍♀️💕🌴👏

      Hi Terri, thank you so much for visiting! First of all, yes, you can! You can do this and fit into those lonely clothes once again. I'm so sorry about the aches & pain. Last summer, my knees hurt so badly I could barely walk and had to go to PT 3 x /week. I know it's no fun and I'm so sorry you're going through this. Like you, I was also have nightly wine. Once I started WW, I stopped the daily wine, and have some a few times/month or if I go away somewhere. After the weight starting coming off, the aches started going away. I no longer have knee pain or back ache. This has made a world of difference for me. I hope it does the same for you. Wishing you the very best! xoxo

      Hi Octavia, thank you so much for stopping by. I'm so happy my video was helpful. Try not to be too hard on yourself. You are not alone and a great many of us gained weight during Covid. We couldn't go out to much, locked in with almost nothing to do but eat and watch TV (that's where a good part of my weight gain came from). You can do this, just take it one day at a time, don't go hungry, keep tempting foods out of the house (I keep chocolate and chips out of the house, but I eat them once per week when I'm out somewhere), and if you do decide to follow WW, just track your foods. If I can ever be of any help, please don't hesitate to ask. xoxo

      I understand very much the struggle. I am 70 and also gained. On top of that I have developed anxiety about going out at all now. I haven't tried WW in years. My issue with it prior was the fact that I seemed to be concentrating too much on food when I needed to not think about it.

      Hi Liz! A HUGE congratulations on your weightloss! That is awesome and I'm so happy for you! I agree! The app sold me as well! It's so easy! I'm 5'4" I'll be having a skincare video up soon with my morning and evening routines, but honestly, I think my firm skin has more to do with genes rather than all the products I use. Every morning, I use vitamin C serum, Hyaluronic acid, sunscreen and SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore anti aging treatment; in the evenings, I alternate between retinoids and Osmosis MD. I do have Botox on my forehead for the elevens which get pretty bad and very noticeable. xoxo

    I like that you incorporate wine into your “lifestyle” bc I truly enjoy having a glass of wine with my dinner, I just account for it with my plan but end up feeling guilty bc everyone says absolutely no alcohol……keep it real, i say!

    This is fabulous! Thanks for sharing and explaining. I got the WW app on Sun. It helps so much to track what I'm consuming. I lost on Keto but not a healthy diet. I want to keep the pounds off and eat healthy foods.

      Hi there, beautiful! Thank you so much! I had the same issue of not consuming enough calories and I didn't want them to be empty calories. I remedied it by always having Premier Protein Drinks in the fridge (about 160 calories, high protein + 1 gram of sugar and 2 - 3 points depending on the flavor). I neglected to mention this in the video. I also always have Oiko yogurt (1 point) in the fridge. Between these two items, I was able to supplement my calorie intake, limit my sugar intake, and the points are low. Keep me posted on how it's working for you! xoxo

    Hi Marlene, first of all congratulations on losing all that weight! It’s funny because all the years I watched you on UA-cam I never thought you were heavy. So maybe a lot of the times I only saw you from the neck up and never realized it but you do look great. I was curious if you ever attend the meetings or if everything is done virtually? I know way way back when I belonged to it we counted all the points and they stressed how important the meetings were to keep us motivated. I know you have no control over the ads that UA-cam puts on your video but I laughed when all of a sudden the Nutrisystem ad flashed on your screen!       Hi Dolores! How are you, beautiful? Thank you so much! LOL, when I started this channel, my camera was aimed lower; as the weight piled on, camera went up and I only shot from my shoulders. I don't go to meetings; I just use the app on my phone. Years ago, I did go to meetings but that didn't last too long. There are virtual meetings (I believe), but I've never attended one. I don't think there's anything wrong with meetings; it's just not my thing to do. However, I have a friend that does attend meetings in her area and she loves going. She's lost all the weight she wanted to lose but says the meetings help her stay on track, enjoys meeting the other ladies, and there's always something new she learns. I guess it's a matter of preference. LOL that's too funny about the ad. Yes! There is light at the end of the tunnel! That is for sure! Love and hugs, my friend xoxo

    Hi Marlene. I am very inspired by your success. I am considering WW myself, but only if I can make it my lifestyle. I'm 61 and tired of all the diet trends. How do you handle cooking for spouse/family? Do you make your food then their food? How do you handle going out to eat or social gatherings? Those 2 issues are my challenge. Thank you

      Hi Theresa, thank you so much for visiting! I think the premise behind WW is that it is a lifestyle where we don't have to give up any foods; I have never cooked anything differently for my family. If they wanted potatoes and gravy, I'd make it and do one of two things: eat a small portion or have some salad or vegetables instead. I have always made salads and or some vegetables for dinner along with whatever else I'm making. What I've never done or will do is prepare separate meals. As for going out, I plan my meals. If I know I'll be going out to dinner or social gathering, I'll keep my points low for breakfast and lunch, then eat whatever I want at the restaurant although I do try to make good choices. If I want some dessert, I'll have it. If I want to have something that is very high in points, I ask for a carry-out when my meal arrives and portion out half to take home for the following day. However, I have never deprived myself. When I was in WA for the 4 days, I ate at restaurants every day for all 3 meals and had my birthday cake two days in a row. I hope this helps. xoxo

      Hi Sabine, thank you so much for visiting and the sweet comment! Today is my weigh-in day so I went back to see how much I weighed in Dec the day before my brother's wedding. I weighed 195 pounds.. 9 months later, I'm down 50 pounds. If your goal is to drop some weight, you can do this. Some say that it's not possible to drop weight after 60. Yes, we can!     So glad I found your channel. I’ve never weighed over 132 but CoVid and medication for an autoimmune disease has me up to 164 and I’m so small boned. Problem is a don’t cook and don’t want to cook. Eating Factor dinners now four nights a week but not helping. May try WW but I know I’m not going to cook at 73. Do you exercise on a machine?

      Hi Carole, I don't cook too much either. I basically live on salads, vegetables and seafood or chicken. However, nothing elaborate. I'll stir fry, but that's about it. I do not exercise on a machine. I walk about 5 miles per day around the neighborhood. I just break it up into mile or mile and half intervals. xoxo Marlene

    Hi Marlene ! You look fabulous! I have to wonder when I see really obese people what it will take to get them to go that's enough I need to take charge of my life and my body. I am happy you did that before it's too late. Food is an addiction like anything. But it's funny You can still eat food and be dieting you just have to eat better choices right? Weight watchers is one of the best because you can eat real food. I wrote a book called " Finding the right diet for you" which talks about why diets fail! Honestly there's so many gimmick diets out there and they're not for us ! You look Maa-va-lus ! Love ya , Babs ❤️

    Hola Marlene! I've been waiting for this video for a while. You truly are an inspiration! I've been on WW since July and I've lost 16 lbs. I have 24 to go. It seems that the weight loss is so slow with me. I need to be patient with myself. How long did it take you to get to your goal weight? Did you ever experience any stomach problems? I do.       Hi Sandy, thank you so much for visiting! Congratulations on your weight loss! Actually that's not real slow to have lost 16 pounds in less than 3 months. It's better to lose slowly because that way it'll stay off. Losing about 5 pounds per month is perfect. I started Aug 24, 2021, so it's been over a year. Some weeks I lost half pound, some weeks, I lost 3 pounds, some weeks nothing, and I hit a few plateaus along the way where the weight would just stay in one place for a couple of weeks, but I just stuck to it. I never experienced any stomach problems at all. I actually feel better than ever. I haven't reached my goal weight yet; I still want to lose about another 10 pounds. Once I do, I become a lifetime member (no cost if I'm not mistaken), and will continue with the maintenance in order to make sure to keep myself in check. Once I get there, I will record a video explaining it with all the facts. xoxo

      @@MarleneFabGlamOver50 That's exciting to be so close to goal weight! Thanks for reassuring me that 5 lbs per month is good. I am going at this 5 lbs at a time. That way it won't seem like such a big ordeal. Some weeks I wouldn't lose anything and then I'd lose 2 lbs. all at once. August 24! A really good day! You started your weight loss adventure last year and I turned 64 this year. I can't wait til you hit your goal weight and make that video you speak of. Be healthy and blessed.

      You're very welcome. I had to track my weight this morning and went to check how much I had lost per month. In Dec, I weighed 195 pounds, so yes, slowly wins the race. It really is better to lose 4 - 5 pounds/month and for the weight to stay off. If we lose it too quickly, I believe the weight comes back quickly. By dropping weight slowly, our bodies adjust to the change. I did what you're doing. I didn't look too far ahead and celebrated each amount lost whether it was .2 pounds or 3 pounds. I also celebrated when there was no loss because that indicated there weren't any gains. I also hit plateaus that lasted for a couple of weeks as my body adjusted to the new weight. You hang in there. Remember you can do this. I'm here if you have any questions or need some cheering on! xoxo

      I don't mind you asking at all! Getting on the scale and seeing 245 pounds, not fitting into anything smaller than a size 20, looking at myself in the mirror, and seeing how terrible I looked as I was editing my videos. It made me sick to look at myself. That's what pushed me; I realize it shouldn't be that way, but all my life I've liked looking nice. To my eyes, I just looked terrible. Finally, I realized how depressed I was feeling and told myself that I had to make a change. xoxo

    Congratulations Marlene!!🎉. You are so inspiring. I think my biggest hurdle is that my husband )who never gains weight) wants me to cook huge meals for him. It’s so hard to try to diet when he demands homemade goodies, mashed potatoes and gravy. Homemade rolls and lots of meats including fried chicken ,etc. he gets so crabby if I try to change the way I cook. Any tips on dealing with this ? Married 48 years.

      Hi Gerry, thank you so much! I understand what you're saying. On WW, there are no special meals to purchase or prepare. We eat regular foods. In my house, there has always been a salad on the table for supper, If someone wanted potatoes and gravy, I'd make it and either eat a small portion or have the salad. I do tend to skip bread but that's just me. As for the fried chicken, I'd remove the skin. Again, that's just me. As long as you enter the foods you eat in the app and track your points, there's no reason to deprive yourself. I hope this helps. xoxo

    How do you feel about loose skin? Did you have a lot? I am on WW now and the biggest thing that has been holding back my weight loss has been the thought of loose skin and then giving up my binge eating at night when I just have to have! Thank you for your encouragement!

      Don’t let that stop you. Just lose the weight slowly and exercise. That combination usually helps with loose skin. Your health is the most important thing. Good luck! 😊

    Marlene my name is Lois. Let me say you are amazing four years ago I lost 65 pounds with WW and kept it off. I gained 20 of it back just recently because of a binging problem. I work out four days at the gym and at home to. But this binge eating is hurting never did this before. I tell the doctor and he will say stop doing that, but they just do not understand. Any advice I am on 29 points a day.

      Hi Lois, thank you for visiting. I used to binge as well especially this year. What I do is I keep zero /low points premeasured snacks on hand. That's what helped me because we can't just stop. I keep sliced cucumbers in the fridge, cucumber "sandwiches" with laughing cow cheese, sliced apples, Skinny Girl popcorn, etc. so when I want to binge, I do so on healthy low point alternatives. Also, I keep no trigger foods in the house: chips, high fat ice cream or any foods I know I'll sit and eat the entire package. I don't deprive myself of any of these; I just don't keep them in the house. I hope this helps. xoxo Marlene

      Hi Susan, I started by making the decision that I wanted to lose the weight, joined WW, used the WW app for everything I ate. used moderation, never deprived myself, and I did my best to choose my foods wisely.     I am losing weight presently and I'm on the right track. I am 63 and I've never had to lose this much weight before and I'm very worried about the sagging skin. Especially my neck. I need to lose about 40 or 50 lbs. I lost 50 at age 42 and at that age it was very minimal. Has anyone been through this? I have seen shows where they have terrible hanging skin but they have lost like 300 lbs. I'm wondering about 50 lb. weight loss and the effects of that.

Any soda contains about 1 cup of sugar per can, so it's probably high in points; however, if it's not something you want to give up, you would take those points into consideration when tracking points. One nice thing about WW is there is nothing we need to give up. xoxo

I know that between losing my mom in April coupled with divorce, I put on a few pounds. The light at the end of the tunnel is that we did it once and we can do it again. My two brothers passed away suddenly and my mother passed away due to illness. My husband had to get a liver transplant as a result of a botched surgery from a doctor. food was my coping mechanism. I have to turn to the Lord instead of food 🙏
