    Great review of a phenomenal car. I love your thorough, objective reviews regardless, and as an American, I appreciate you reviewing a few U.S. cars that are available in Europe. It’s interesting and helpful to read reviews and perspectives from other markets. Love your channel...keep up the great journalism!

    Great car. We have owned the Cadillac CTS-V Carbon Black Edition 2018 since June of last year. It is an "Athlete in a Tuxedo!" Use it for my daily driver. This review nails everything about this great Cadillac.

    The dead spot in the steering is a safety feature, you can swing around to smack the kids without flying off the road - literally. It would be very minimal in the V cars but in something like a minivan its REALLY there.

    Thomas, i am glad that you reviewed this car. In my opinion it is a car that is often overlooked but you captured the essence of the car perfectly. Cadillac knew what they were doing when they created the current CTS-V. It's not perfect, but close to it for the car buyer who finds this car to be in balance for them as I do. Plus it has the same engine as the Corvette Z06. Overall a great combination.

      You can't get an E63 at this price point. This is much, MUCH less expensive than an E63.

    • @emekaiheanacho6971
      @emekaiheanacho6971 6 років тому

      Vernon Price of course it's more expensive...It's a Mercedes....There's absolutely nothing prestigious about driving a caddilac.... Although the CTS-V is serious sports car

    • @vernonprice5986
      @vernonprice5986 6 років тому +22

      "of course it's more expensive...It's a Mercedes"
      You said, and I quote: "But give me an E63s at this price point"
      And I said *you can't GET an E63 at this price point*. Because you CAN'T.
      "There's absolutely nothing prestigious about driving a caddilac"
      So what you're saying is that you're not any kind of driving enthusiast, since the only thing that matters to you is the imagined "prestige" behind the brand name, and not the actual driving experience of the car itself. You're a brand whore. And once again, you CANNOT get an E63 at this price point, so saying you would rather have an E63 at this price point is asking for something that is not physically possible.

    Thomas I as well enjoyed your review, I love your accent and the way you pronounce your words. You have a very good grasp of the English language and I particularly like the way you can point out a shortcoming of an item or feature without being harsh or overly negative, Great work! You make everyone feel good about your reviews. I listened to this one about six times and then purchased this car in black. Good Work my man on being one of the best reviewers in the mix. Thank You. Häufig wird bei solchen Autos die "indirekte" Lenkung bzw die etwas schwammige Mittellage kritisiert. Meine erfahrung ist: wenn bei geschwindikeiten von 150+ die Lenkung sehr direkt ist wird das Auto schnell nervös, da eine kleiner lenkeingriff direkt zum "schlingern" führt. Deshalb ist es wichtig das das Lenkrad Still ist und ein kleiner Lenkeinschlag nicht zu irekt ausgeführt wird

    Anyone who says the interior of this is lacking has never sat in this car: I have sat in it multiple times and it’s interior is much better treated-in terms of material choice-when compared to a BMW or Audi. Also, the black dashboard and side inlets aren’t plastic, they’re alcantara, leather and carbon fiber.

    Nice review, you could have checked if TA (Traffic Announcement) volume setting is higher then the volume currently playing. In the Opel Adam if TA volume is set lower then the currently set volume the TA plays at maximum volume. For example audio volume = 12 and TA volume = 10 leads to TA playing at maximum volume (40), audio volume = 12 and TA volume = 14 and TA will play at volume setting 14.

    Thomas - Regarding the nav voice volume - (13:00) - it can be set separately from the radio volume, and is adjustable WHILE THE VOICE IS SPEAKING, so hit the volume down or up to adjust. I think there is a separate control buried in the menus on the CUE screen. The hands-free phone volume can be set separately as well. Should work exactly the same as my ATS

    If the stereo is too loud on one song it may be much quieter on another. Songs are recorded at different levels and even the source of the music can change its volume in a multimedia car audio system. BUT, I do agree that a car should automatically turn the music down to a certain level, no matter how loud it was when you turned the car off. I rented a [chevy impala?] years ago that had a feature like that. it also lowered volume when you drove slower, as engine and road noise were less intrusive and the music was more audible. A little too much, I thought.

    Great review, Thomas, as usual. Thanks for sharing. A shame this car at this time is not offered with AWD. An user-configurable AWD/RWD system like the one in the E63 AMG would be welcome, don't you think?
    But it is seems to be a really well balanced car. Nice looks, great engine, superb brakes, superb chassis. And magneride system is perhaps the best in the world. Some cars in USA make a real point in cost/preformance, like the CTS-V for maybe $90k, the Camaro LZ1 for $65k, The 460HP 10-speed auto Mustang GT for $40k...

    Excellent review - I subscribed. You have a good way of bringing out the design, workmanship and materials that is hard to evaluate from video alone. As a current M5 owner this definitely has my interest with all the latest technology and the supercharged engine. Just saw it today and will talk to the dealer tomorrow as he has 2 of these beasts. In many ways the CTS-V looks like a M5 clone so we know who GM was going after. I left GM almost 10 years ago but after a recent acquisition I am impressed with their service/support in comparison to the Euro attitude here in the states having had to pay for warranty work.

    Car has a definite American themed design. Cadillac has done a wonderful job with the car, just a tad slab-sided on some areas but overall a very good look. Interior is getting a bit old and isn't as well presented as CT6 you reviewed earlier. It could do without those glossy piano black trim on the wheel/dash/center infotainment and needs one or two physical button/switches for the volume and temp controls. Bose car audio isn't as premium and better than competition. Would be nice if Cadillac installed a cursor interface for the rear view camera/mirror which is more important than with the electronic (!) cup holders.
    Top stuff Thomas.

    Damn that's a nice looking car...great stance with the exterior styling. The interior material, buttons, dash and general design is still the same as the 2015 models? That infotainment thing has got to go..the icons on the screen look like something from Windows CE 1.0 Love this car but hate this car ..-:p Great review by the way..i like the attention and care that you put in.

    I can't wait to hear the European perspective on the Cadillac brand when the first model created under Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen comes to market. The man will finally get the world to respect the Cadillac brand just like the world respects Audi, BMW, and Mercedes Benz brands.
    The first Cadillac model created under the supervision of Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen will be the Cadillac XT4. It will debut this year at the New York Auto Show.

      SuperHollowfied Well, the updated CT6 is basically ready as well. The XT4 won't be a groundbreaking vehicle.

      MrCarGuy20 a million mile journey starts with the first step. It doesn't have to start off groundbreaking, it just has to become groundbreaking.

      B bo the XT4 will be fwd with optional AWD. Cadillac is already very late in getting more CUVs in it's lineup, they only have the midsize XT5 out right now. The XT4 will be a compact and there is a strong possibility a fullsize XT6 will also come to market.

      SuperHollowfied true! Look what happened to jeep. Since they became parte of the FCA their products improved a lot! I hope that will happen with Cadillac also, European products are the reference when it comes to interior quality and design. I will take a Cadillac CTS V over a bmw/Mercedes any day.

      SuperHollowfied a XT6? That would be very smart of them to do so. They need something to battle in that class to rival the Range Rover Velar and that beautiful Lincoln Aviator.

    Thomas, I've watched your reviews for a while and I have to say I've lost that loving feeling. You've gone from reviewing cars to interjecting your personal views. Objectivity has left the building so I think this will be our parting video. You've done an excellent job in the past but those days are gone, I guess. I am just speaking as one subscriber so it probably doesn't matter.Keep doing what you do, just regain your objectivity. Peace!

      "Regain your objectivity?" Subjectivity? Objectivity?! Thomas reviews cars and tells us as it is - and we love his polite critique and observations - they are the best. There is no bias, and he endeavours hard and researches long, to get his information correct. It's how you interpret the review: I think the problem may - repeat may - be with the reader/listener, rather than the writer/reviewer...! Peace.

      thanks for the support! Indeed our approach is to make it most suitable for the viewer. Our whole format was developed with and for you guys. And I think we prove with every single review that we are not afraid to criticize and that we do not judge a car by any prejudices.

      lacroyx65 - I think you may be confused about what "review" means. A review is the opinion of the reviewer. I value Thomas' opinion and his perspective as well his expansive commentary about the cars he reviews. Please read the definition below from the Merriam Webster Dictionary. By the way lacroyx65...no one expects you to have that loving feeling for Thomas...just enjoy his work and his exceptional channel.
      .www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/review
      Definition of review for English Language Learners. : an act of carefully looking at or examining the quality or condition of something or someone : examination or inspection. : a report that gives someone's opinion about the quality of a book, performance, product, etc.

    I can’t believe you didn’t take it on a no speed limit Autobahn part. You were not curious what’s it like at 200,250 km/h?

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  6 років тому +4

      I am not sure if you were watching the same video, but that's exactly what I did? A real Autobahn without speed limit? Maybe you just dont understand that even if it is allowed, I wouldnt drive 250 km/h in a situation with other vehicles around

    • @LeoVinteler
      @LeoVinteler 6 років тому

      Autogefühl got you. Sorry I was under the impression that that was on a speed limit area. How do you like a supercharged American engine compared to the M5, E63 turbos?

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  6 років тому

      hm tough one, performance is for sure great, but i feel the supercharger consumes even more fuel

    • @LeoVinteler
      @LeoVinteler 6 років тому

      Autogefühl consumption is awful but performance is great. Rear wheel makes this car hard to drive and compete with M, AMG.

    Is that acceleration sound real or goes from speakers? Sound weird, like spaceship. For those who are blaming about biasing or not praise this car enaugh, try this car, BMW, MB and then look for what you would like to give your own money.

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  6 років тому +2

      Indeed, people who claim we would rate any car in a biased way clearly do not watch full length and do not really compare the reviews. And they obviously do not know that no car in the world is really built in one country anymore. Every car today is a global production with parts from all over the world, and "domestic" brands often produce somewhere outside their own countries. If people e.g. claim we would rate BMW SUVs better while not knowing their built in the US anyway ;-)
      With the speaker sound, almost every car delivers engine sound over speakers nowadays, since they are that well insulated that you hardly hear the real engine sound anymore. Even a BMW M5 has artificial sound enhancement for the cabin.

    If the bose stereo bass is up that is for the feel not the audible. The bass to me is the most important part of the music experience. Just play your music without the Bass. I don't listen to opera music, which barely has any Bass and is boring, I listen to funk music with a lot of Bass applied, that's why the Bass, is the most important part of the music..

    Only issue is that this is a car for any country where fuel costs very little... so mostly not Western Europ. Consumption is, when driving in every day conditions, well over the normal top and when pushing harder almost immoral. For the rest, it must be great fun to drive !!

    Excellent Car! But, for an american car, you are really shortchanged in the amount of space in the back. They should rectify this issue.
