I have been playing guitar for like 4 months and I have always had trouble singing while I play. I suppose it's taking me long because I am also studying music theory along with the practice. I have been trying to sing the song "Damn your eyes" but couldn't play while I sing or vice versa. However, I came across your video and then I realized that I was not able to play and sing together because I had been thinking about the chords all this time. I just paused your video, tried to just sing and feel and then play the chords and voila, I did that. I know this is kinda big text but thank you so much for this tutorial, it really helped. I wish you a happy new year :)
Hey great advice you gave there...but would've like to have heard you sing some more. You've got such a lovely voice...and your guitar playing sounds real 'cool' as well. Thanks.
Amen can you show me with a chord diagram when you sing and when to change to the next chord I know everything just struggle to when to change to the next chord is it when voice goes up or down
Very good information! Thank You! How about knowing when to switch between chords during an uptempo, fast change i.e. C,D,G done within 1 bar in the measure, then hold "G" for ...say...4 bars, then D,G,Em in 1-2 bars...?? When your ear is fooled, and you CANT hear the chord differences, bc its FAST. Just suck it up and learn I guess?? 🤔
@@illBunii why? To clarify I'm toxic enough as a man. To admit she's got some years on me and I'd still play guitar with her and happily smash if given an opportunity
Thanks that will help me guide beginner I play with.
For me this is one of the most useful lessons I have watched, thank you so much Janet, please keep them coming!
David Bamford Neat! Sure thing.
i love the way you express your thoughts...very clear, concise and informative. Thanks for sharing your insights.
Thank you!! I’m new to guitar and you explain things so much better then some others.
Thanks for this Janet, I'm learning music on Ableton (program) and trying to understand stuff like chord changes and this helped a lot!

Already sensing Janet is a real teacher rather than somebody looking for hits, already benefited, guitar can be very frustrating & difficult.
All good tips. Thanks🙄
OMG, since the beginning of the beat I thought the song was Stand by me.
Give us a video for accuracy in chord changes.

Improving everything by focusing on one thing
what if I dont have musicians to play with and I am just a beginner?
I know this is wierd to say but i feel this lady was a really hot hippie when she was younger.
anyway thx for the tips.
She might be older that me but totally wouldn't turn her down for a fling now
@@factsnotfeelings4901 That's so gross to say and unnecessary. Ew, ew.

Slack doesn't exist in a serious disciplined artform.
I'm waiting for the comments. Watch. I'll prove my point.
