- Fixing an 2001 Tahoe that has lost 1 & 2 fan speeds. Pretty easy fix.

mossman381 do you have Instagram or Facebook page ?
Don't have Instagram and don't use my Facebook page.
This was great! My local parts store sold me the same part you used. One thing worth mentioning, the new part doesn’t fit the bolt brackets perfectly, so screwing them in was crooked, but once connected AC works great, so it’s very minor
Thanks for the video. I had this problem years ago and now have it again, except all have quit working. Hear it click but not fan speed. Thanks again.
So glad to see your a dachshund owner, no better dog in my opinion, I got two as pups , I didn’t want them , my wife did, I fell in love with them and would have given my life for them, they got too old and you know the rest of the story. It’s been a couple years now and I think of them many times every day.
Awesome bud this just happened in my 04 silverado thanks. I like your seat warmer there LOL I got one myself a big Doberman model that will not let me leave the house without her.
He is a really good seat warmer :)
Appreciate the video. May try this first. My number 5 setting never worked since I bought the truck. Was gonna get a whole climate controller but this may be the issue as well.
Mine does the same, replaced the controller and still doesn’t work. Did you find out the fix on yours?

Thank you! I just replaced mine after troubleshooting with your video as a guide.
Glad to help.
The old square bodies are so much easier to change out ;) Merry Christmas!
Most everything is simpler/easier on those trucks. This Tahoe has gone pretty much trouble free up till now. Very dependable and pretty easy to work on.
Nice. Same prob I have except 1,2&3 were not working. The plastic cover was a bit of a pain to take out. Have to be pretty good with working from feel to take off and put back on. Good job my man.thx u
7/32 is 5.5mm ma boyyy
Indeed, almost.
Nice video. I had to do this to two of my vehicles. My ‘99 Silverado only had the top two speeds. My wife’s 05’ Yukon XL didn’t have any fan at all. Resistor swap fixed both.
Love your helper working hard on catching a little nap. But man every time I think to myself "man I wish Mossman would do a vid on something tadow! You do.
Nice video, dude. Did the same on mine this time last year. And had to replace the battery even though the damn thing was off, it turned on over night and killed it. lol
Thank you! My 1 through 4 just stopped working.
Did you find the issue? Mine just did the same
Thanks mine doesn't work on number 4 for now but at least I know what to do when the others go out
Replacing mine now and one of the mounting screws was rusted bad. Had to drill it out. Pain in the ass
This is common on my wife's 2001 dodge durango . It needs one right now but old one is melted to wiring harness . I can't remove it . If I do looks like I will need a donor harness to splice back in . My new part has no wires. Maybe I'll have to look into seeing if there's a wiring kit? Thanks .
Nice tip Randy!
They are known to do this. My 01 HD had this too.
Thanks bro definitely helped ..
Supervisor looks pretty sleepy 😴
Ive been told by many people to not use the aftermarket parts for these because you will more then likely end up having to do it again in the future.
The Dorman parts I have been buying seem to be good quality. Can't say that for other parts but that is what I have been seeing. That resistor gets a fair amount of abuse. I can see why it will go out again at some point.
Mine just went out. How's everything holding up so far
@@desekzone It still works great. Pretty easy fix.
That button on the far left of the heater controls always stays on on mine. How do turn it off?
Some settings won't allow you to shut off the fresh air button.
NMN.
I changed the resistor and the pigtail and still don’t work
Happen to me on my 2005 Silverado there was a recall on it and gm paid for it
Resistors go all the time
Small screws=5.5 mm...and yes...the one in the back is a pain in the butt
"5" does not work for me
I’ve taken many off without taking that motor cover off
Only two bolts and it easier to get to the plug.
