I completed this exact job today and your video saved me. I took the laptop out to the carport and followed your directions. Had no problems whatsoever! I went to O'reillys and bought the module for about $80 bucks, I probably could have ordered it on Amazon or some place else and paid a cheaper price but the wind is blowing about 35 mph and it's about 20 degrees outside, so I was just happy to get it done. I was out this morning at 4:30 AM and it was raining and my windows were fogging up so bad because I had no blower, I had to pull over and wipe the inside windows. The rear air in my suburban would heat the vehicle just fine but it didn't de-fog the windshield. Thanks for your video!
This has been an on going problem for me for about 2 years now. I have a 06 Cadillac Escalade, I seem to be changing this thing once every 6 months. Thankfully the part has a life time warranty. I have even changed the blower motor. What happens is some days it will blow some it wont. Or I'll be driving and it will come on then off. Then back on for a few minutes then off again. The only thing I haven't changed was the controls on the dash. I never new that about the volt meter, so I guess that will be next. Thanks, Great video.
Love your videos because your a little more detailed on them. The majority of the techs on you tube for instance they use scopes but they don’t show how to hook them up. That would really help out the new generation of techs coming into the industry. I know this didn’t need a scope. But your detailed on the repair without a long video. Keep up the good work brother.

@Advance Level Auto, hey thanks for the video. I just got done doing the install all was fine, my issue was the connector to the blower fan was brittle. I accidentally touched the red and black wire when making a cut. I checked my obvious fuses, even swapped back my old resistor which was working any idea of I could have blown up?

Loved the video. Prior to watching it I thought to myself that I should start at the blower itself and work backwards to see where something is "lost". Wasn't sure what I was looking for but I figured I would need some voltage on the lead to the blower motor and a ground. I was almost certain that the control module (resistors) would be the problem. Funny thing is once I stuck the T pin into the purple and white connector, the blower turned on. How after 18 years did it become a loose connection issue? If the problem comes back, will probably need to replace the control module. Would be nice to know where you got your ground for your PowerProbe or the multimeter. I tried the parking brake at first and it didn't work. I then found a shiny metal plate above the parking brake and it worked. Thanks for the video. My '05 did not have 2 plugs. It had a single plug for all 5 wires. There was also another plug that piggy backed off the control module plug. No idea what it was for. Not connected to anything. Made it easy to test for ground and battery power (no need for T pin).
Great video! Just did this to my 2003 Avalanche. I was thrown off some by the new module vs the old "plug and play." Once I cut and connected the old wires to the new I was up and running again. I decided to just replace the blower fan as well since I was right there.
This video is excellent, you explained everything so well a toddler could figure it out. I managed to diagnose my suburban and it indeed has a bad resistor. WIll be changing it soon.
Hey Eric, Thanks for this awesome video. I didn't have all the tester tools that you had but after watching the video i was pretty sure that my pickup was having the very same issue. Ordered the part on eBay and within 15 minutes of receiving the part in the mail i was back in the cool zone with the AC blasting!!!

Well done. I was going to use the original plugs and move the wires around however somebody put word it before I got to it so thanks for doing this video as it was helpful for me. One last thing well done as I can tell you were working with one hand and holding the camera with the other lol

I'm having the same problem with my rear air not blowing. Changed everything from a tahoe in a salvage yard still nothing. Might even have gotten a bad replacement resistor. Do you have a video on the rear air?
Great video, hey, I have a 04 suburban 1500 2wd flex fuel v8 5.3L with dual climate control with Auto for hvac. I installed a new mode door actuator and it doesn't take the calibration, it spins initially but I have no control over it with the ac controller, also the rear doesn't work. Wound up replacing motor module, fixed problem. But I did not see a DC voltage on control wire like you had only had a few millivolts . I took up my portable LCD scope and could see control signal PWM . Wonder why I did not see the DC signal you did , was your meter referenced to GND for that reading ?
I have a 2005 Tahoe. It appears the blower motor and resister were changed when the AC selector was changed by the previous owner. The fan speed selector is going up and down. The green fuse appears to be in good shape. If all those are working, what could be preventing the blower from working?
If we replace everything new ( compressor, dryer, condenser,) and just run cold for avg 30 to 45 mins and then stop cooling for another 30/45 mins but just blowing like hot, do your thing according to your experience it will be the element are bad?
As you were able to apply ground via power probe and then the blower motor worked how did you know it was the module/resistor and not just a bad ground wire?
Fixed my problem on my 05 Yukon Xl Denali. Front Ac would only work at highway speeds. My assumption was that it wasn’t getting enough voltage at a standstill. Ordered part off carparts and Installed today. I used the yellow butt connectors instead of blue. Ac blowing super cold again. Anyone with the problem with ac only working while driving, swap out this part. Summer isn’t dreadful anymore lol

I have a 2003 GMC Yukon XL and I changed the battery and the blower motor stays on even when the car is not turned on the blower motor invents work I pressed the buttons to change the directions and the power of the blower and seems to get louder and work fine is the panel gone not the actuator?
I have a H2 Hummer my ac blower stays on after turning the ac off and when removing the key. I replaced the blower motor resisters and blower motor . Still the same problem. Is it the control module not shutting the power off ?
My2013 suburban has a similar problem. On long trips it will stop blowing out the vents but I can hear the motor rumbling in the dash still. Is this a motor going bad or a blend door issue?
hey I know you made this video 4 years ago but I need some help. just bought an 01 tahoe and the rear blower motor stays constantly running until I shut the car off.found out it's the blower motor resister so ordered a new one today and the one I recieved is a little different since the old resister has a plug with 3 wires and a 2nd plug with 4 wires and the new resister is just 1 7 pin connector and I dont know how I'm supposed to wire the 2 connectors into 1.the new harness I got is not color coded and only has black and white wires and I cant find an actual diagram or anything helping me in knowing how to wire this correctly.plz give me any advice you can so I can get some heat going in this car and able to control it.thank you for the time
Have a 2005 Avalanche similar problem. I have heard there is a technical bulletin out on this but cannot find one. I'm guessing the TB would have the new part number for the resistor. Any ideas where I can get the new part number?
Question, I looked at your schematics in the video and the purple wire looks like it goes directly to the control module on the dash. I get 4.8vdc on the purple wire and it drops to 2.1vdc when I adjust the fan speed. When I unplug the wires from the back of the control module on the dash I still see 4.8vdc at the resistor module and I get the same voltage at the connector when it’s unplugged at the dash. What am I missing here?? Thanks in advance!
Would the same apply to the rear control module? Mine doesn’t blow anything but then will turn on at random times then stop working when I turn the car off.🤷🏻♂️

My 2004 Chevy Tahoe z71 4x4 has same problem...Did your blower blow a bit but not a LOT when you turn up heater/ac???

Will this resistor work on the rear blower in a 2003 Tahoe? It has auto AC and the resitor looks identical to the one you were checking on the video.
