I'd say it's go time. My 86 year neighbor doesn't mind. I use the backs of our properties then down the front to land. cold but no snow TX. Ty Gary

I 3D printed some skis for my E-flite Pulse. I'd try it after your attempt, but here in MO the wind chill is well below zero!

Funny you should post this. I've had floats on my UMX Timber EVO for about a month now so I could fly on/off the snow that we've been getting in North Central PA near the NY border. With the last snow we've been getting I've yet to make a landing on top off the snow. The snow has been the lightest and fluffyest I've seen in many years. If you come even just a little bit hard for the landing the plane will plop down into the snow over the floats. If you bring it in for what looks likes should be a greaser the snow "grabs" the floats and the plane noses over. Because of the snow being so fluffy and about 6" deep no damage has been done to the prop or ant part of the plane.
Skis might work in this type of snow if they're spring loaded to have the tips up when you come in for a landing. [It'd be nice if HH/E-flite also made skis for the UMX models.]
