  • Looking to further improve the Forester's reliability, I install an Accusump system and multiple oil pressure sensors. This video provides an overview of the system, an overview of my install, and finally a demonstration of the system during a first start.

Installation of a Canton Accusump, Moroso Accumulator, or Oil Accumulator including first-time engine oil priming. Install should be similar on any FB25, FB20, FA20, or FA24 engine from an Outback, Forester, Impreza, Crosstrek, BRZ, WRX, or Ascent. Related to my 2015 Subaru Forester 2.5i Supercharger DIY project. Eaton M65 (same internals as Eaton M45) from a Mercedes M271 engine. DIY Boost / Forced induction / Blower / Turbo / Intercooler on the FB25 2.5L engine featuring 0-60 testing, tuning using EcuFlash / RomRaider. Boost leaks, pressure testing, smoke test, brazing aluminum, intake baffle to quiet supercharger whine, supercharger rebuild, oil cooler install using sandwich plate, installing a smaller supercharger pulley (65mm to 62mm) for increased MAP / boost psi.

Where did you pick up that multiple pressure guage?

eBay - look for gauges intended for air suspension setups

Who makes that sandwich plate adapter? Could the oil accumulator be run to one of the ports you have a pressure sensor at?

Something from AliExpress. And yes it could be, but that's pre oil filter, so most of the oil would flow back into the pan and not into the engine prior to startup.

@@avsti ok that sucks. Would have made for an easy connection in my car. I'll have to figure out something else or just go with a cooler alone

I didn't mean to totally dishearten you, mostly defending my choices. Accusump into a sandwich plate is still way better than no accusump. Plus, some sandwich plates have connections post filter!

@@avsti no problem. I just want to do it the right way that's the least hassle. I've seen diagrams teeing the accumulator into the line returning from the cooler and using a check valve. I would think the thermostat will prevent preoiling before start up because the oil is cold

Typically, oil thermostats don't block flow from a cooler so much as divert oil going towards the cooler down a bypass. It could still work.
