Just bought the 9 foot 5wt for chucking out big buggy flies and steamers on western rivers.

I bought a 6wt legacy for striped bass streamers on our local tailwaters. It's perfect. I have a 9wt BVK for when the big ones are there in the spring.

The LK Legacy can definitely be used in salt, but this is an outstanding freshwater rod. Own and love the 6wt and 8wt for smallmouth and big trout.

Do you know how the Legacy compare To Axiom II X. Need af new rod for the coastline :-)

@@goswo Own them both. If you are wanting to focus on the coastline, I would go with the Axiom ll-X or the Mangrove Coast.

What line are you using on your 8wt please? I just bought the 10ft 8wt and I'm looking for a good line match.

@@chrissaunders4024 I like the SA Bass Bug line. Before I was using the Rio Outbound Short and loved that one as well. Just wanted to try the Bass Bug line out as a I heard great things and see why. Very similar shooting head style line. I use it on both my 6wt and 8wt now.

I've been using the 4wt for dry fly presentations, absolutely love it. 8wt bangs out streamers, load is easy and delivers

Salt water is great but I am looking for bigger fish in Alaska rivers. Any thoughts on how it would be for salmon and pike

Looks like a good rod for the money. How does the Blue Ribbon compare?

Hi David, the Blue Ribbon series does not have an 8 weight in its lineup. Overall, the LK Legacy should be a bit faster. Thanks for watching!

Not being sarcastic. Aside from components, how is a foreign built rod less cosmetically appealing than a domestically assembled rod? Windings, epoxy, decals, etc?

I’m not entirely certain what the review meant by that, but perhaps hes subconsciously comparing it to more expensive high end rods? Its not like it matters though. Visually appealing rods don’t catch more fish in my experience. I’ve got a couple horrid looking spinning rods that out perform those sweet lookers. In the end some folks want to make fishing gear into a fashion statement. I’ve never once drew the conclusion that my success or failure to catch fish depended on how good looking my outfit was. My only issue with a rods appearance is with color. But that boils down to personal preference and often tend to overlook. But I draw the line at safety orange 🤪

The epoxy on a foreign rod (even the $1K Hardy's) is heavy and "goopy" I've had multiple Korean made rods have guides eventually shift on me under the thread wraps. The cork is typically half inch instead of quarter inch or less ring sized so the cork is usually less dense and always has more filler. This leads to a NOTICEABLE difference when in hand. The locking rings and reel seat typically aren't as durable and don't lock up as well. The guides themselves don't shoot line aswell as rods with top tier guides and just overall the appearance is "less pleasing". Many actual functional differences though. My $300 rods have all eventually had issues due to build quality whereas my $700-$1k rods rarely if ever have. However, you get what you pay for - you could buy 3 different rods in 3 different weights for 3 different applications for the cost of one "flagship" rod, for what it's worth.
