I recently watched all of his movies having been reccomended Memories of Murder by a friend and having watched the host years ago when it was still on Netflix. Immediately shot to the top of my list of favorite directors. No one knows how to intertwine tragedy and comedy as he does.
I (as a foreigner ofc) think that Park Chan-wook also fits that description. I like Asian cinema in general and I find that you Koreans have quite a few great directors. Good for you!

I love how Robert Pattinson has become such a great actor in the past few years.
The guy is definitely getting rid of the Twilight stench, and I don't blame him.
He was always a great actor, even though people give him shit for Twilight he pulled off Edward Cullen just as he was in the books.

Can you please explain to me wtf was going on in the lighthouse cuz I watch it with my sister and we both didn't get it like all of a sudden the guy is beating his meat to the mermaid and shit but the acting was really good. I saw parasite and it was so fucking good and the lighthouse was boring and it was kinda dog shit

@@jackflicker8577 it’s not a film for everyone...kind of like the witch. I personally really liked both films. I love the shots they create, the score, the acting, the dialogue, etc. it’s just so fascinating to watch and experience. And it s also one of those movies where you can discuss for hours with your friends about the meaning behind everything. It’s nice that there are directors out there like Eggars willing to do something so different.
I actually liked the witch more because I felt that the rise in creepiness was smoother and easy to perceive the escalation, the rise in madness in the lighthouse just felt like heated debate->random shit out of nowhere->more heated debate in repeat with a few lighter moments here and there for breathing
I watched Parasite two times in theater already. Definitely the best 2019-released movie I've seen so far.

Generic Name I had the same problem. I ended up having to buy it on amazon. I know it’s not the best solution, but it most likely won’t come out on rent for a while, and $15.00 is about the price of a movie ticket these days (plus you get the benefit of rewatching it)
Generic Name Note: it is $15.00 for HD and $12.00 for SD on Amazon, and Apple also supplies it for $15.00 for either SD or HD I can’t remember which.

I watched a bootleg version but it was horrible, and ruined my movie experience... think i'm just gonna buy it and watch the real movie so I can get a different perspective

Just got back from watching The Lighthouse. An absolutely astounding movie. I never looked away unless I was laughing too hard. Suspenseful, absurd, fun, maddening, an absolute treasure.
Hopefully The Lighthouse does not end up on the list of botched A24 releases that's been expanding as of late

I’m super glad you mentioned Parasite was showing in Australia. Just saw it today and it was bloody incredible. Although I burst out laughing at the birthday party scene and now I’m embarrassed everyone there probably thought I was a psychopath.
I saw it with my mom and was laughing at that scene too while she couldn‘t even look at the screen lol. Gave me a look like „what the fuck did I raise“

What a great year that must have been to be at Cannes, Parasite and the lighthouse in the same festival.
Imagine seeing both of these back to back for the first time. I am so jealous.
Finally a review of Parasite. OMG, Bong joonho really is a genius. always loved his past works, yet this one is my fav.

Parasite was an excellent ride that I'll be happy to take again with friends. And The Lighthouse is sitting as a top 10 favorite for me personally. So thanks for that Adum. :)
Parasite is one of the greatest movies I have ever watched
I like how the 2 hours of Parasite felt like 30-40 minutes,the movie is constantly keeping you interested in the story

The Lighthouse floored me. Brilliant movie.
I actually felt bad for Dafoe's character at that brief moment. The way he suddenly becomes sad as he tries to deny the possibility that Winslow doesn't doesn't like his cooking...even though they're both going insane, you can really feel how disappointed he is.
You're making me so excited for the Lighthouse. I love lighthouses and their history and I've always thought they would be the perfect setting for isolation horror!
My older brother said that foreing films were not good, but then we saw the film on the last month of 2019, and he said, "you do have a good pick for movies".

Parasite has quickly become a top film of mine. I was desperate to see it in Australia when it's 3rd release was closing, but I wasn't able to catch it and I wasn't sure I'd be able to access it so easily in US cinemas. Finally they opened it there, reopened it for the FOURTH time in Australia, and now I've been watching it on flights. I've seen it at least 4 times. I'm in LOVE.

I rewatched The VVitch with subtitles on a week or two ago, and I couldn’t believe how much easier to follow the plot was. It helps I remembered a lot, how could I forget most of it, but I definitely recommend watching with subtitles to help the old English go down easier. Sorry this comment isn’t totally related to the video but I wanted to share cuz it made me like the movie a lot more afterwards

After so many reviews with a 1 to 4 ratings (which honestly deserved them) it's so exciting to see a 9 and a 10 in a single video, I'm excited to watch both of them!
Parasite recently got released in New Zealand and I watched it with a big crowd on opening night. People were laughing and gasping and applauding. I can’t remember the last time I saw such a genuinely crowd-pleasing movie that also managed to be challenging and not cliché. Highly recommend it.

I'm so happy The Lighthouse is great, it's one of my most anticipated movies of the year
now that i’ve seen both of these films i realize how next level this double review is.
I saw The Lighthouse in a small old theatre in Tempe this week, and I feel that it made the experience feel more authentic. This is one of the few times I’m in people’s faces about this movie.
It seriously takes me back to watching old classics with my grandparents as a kid. The first thing I thought, was how much my grandfather would have loved this movie.
The dialogue wasn’t that hard to follow, either. I had heard from a few sources that it took time getting used to, but I followed along fine....I guess bouncing all over the US has its benefits in understanding accents and dialects better...
Seriously, I loved every second of the movie and I’m going to have to see it again soon.

I think this is the first time I saw Adam give a movie a 10/10 and I’ve been subbed to him for about a year now. I’ve been waiting for this moment, especially a review on The Lighthouse.
Even though I already knew it was coming, hearing that "10/10" at the end was HUGELY satisfying!
I just watched The Lighthouse... and man that was fuckin' weird. But I liked it, great performances, super interesting visuals, well directed with some amazing shots, and a lot of conversation to be had.
