Th- That's not what they do though- I give you that, yes, you can use them for that. But these are german railway signals used to indicate the speed. In yellow especially it is a pre-signal (Zs 3v) which indicates that there will be a speed indicating signal with that speed in white (Zs 3). German signals indicating the pathway usually use a big font letter(Zs 2). If it shows a "3" it means 30 kph, if it shows "2" it means 20 kph etc..
I understand that it was not designed for this purpose. But to quote Gene Kranz in Apollo 13, "I don't care what anything was designed to do, I care about what it can do"
