I had a harp violin & cello playing this piece as I walked down the aisle to my husband on our wedding day. It still gives me tingles. Such a beautiful song!
I was listening to this song and wonder... If it has been played with a harp. For I picture it sounding heavenly and to my results I was correct! Though was only looking for a harp cover but the cello adds warm and comfort while the harp adds a magical joyous feel. The instruments melodious dance lovely together! An honor to have heard these two play beautifully!
¡Bravo! I've been moved by your magnificent performance. I've washed my eyes a little. Thanks for this piece played with such feeling. Simplicity itself, perfection itself. Without any doubt, this is the best played "The Swan" I've ever listened to. Regards!
I like the harp with the cello. Somehow, the piano (with cello) often becomes a little too loud, same with an orchestra and cello on this piece. The harp isn't overpowering the cello. I wonder if this could also be played on an acoustic guitar with cello. I love this piece although Hanna Change and Yo-yo Ma both put far more passion into their cello presentations of this piece.
in my opinion, this is soooooooo much better than yo-yo ma's rendition with kathryn stott...it sounded/felt two dimensional...but THIS version is richly evocative. thank you.

Hi Blake! For us it portrays the graceful mystery of the Swan, the distant but captivating beauty that it emanates. If one would like to literally imagine what each of the two instrumental parts represent, the rolling notes in the harp (originally piano) could be the paddling of the swan's webbed feet churning the water below as it paddles, and the cello melody representing it's body gliding across the surface of the water with ease. I hope that offers some imagery to excite your imagination!
The dance for this piece is called the Dying Swan, so depending on the interpretation of the musicians, it could be about being graceful till the end of your life.

Haha I searched for this because that is exactly what I want when I walk down the aisle!
Has your fidelity outlived the fiddle music???
@@philippastore2228 absolutely! Just gone 20 years married February 2nd.
Ha ha? 😂
@@philippastore2228 Same for me - had this piece when I walked the aisle at age 22 - just celebrated 27 years with my honey.
Harp & Cello together will always be my ultimate favourite duet instruments ♡
Life is beautiful :)
It really is! sending some good energy to you✨💫🌻❤️
Cello and Harp version is the BEST!
Magnificently played.
The harp brings out the whimsical element of this immortal piece of music, beautiful rendition, hats off!!

The harp adds nothing in the sense of lifting to higher feeling; it only noisily detracts as an imposing distraction.
I'm not really into classical music but, I can appreciate this.
There are others this beautiful. Try Debussy's Reverie
Beautiful ... Stunning ...
Such a wonderfully written piece of music, and beautifully preformed as well.

Yes, the harp is a superb version.....shimmering filigree of delicacy
I play the harp and my sister wants the cello so when she gets it we will play this song together
TWO acoustic guitars. One for the left hand piano part, the other for the right part.
dont try to fix what isnt broken
10 000 views for this brilliance yet millions for crap that passes as music today. This is borderline criminal.

What is the meaning of this song? What was it meant to convey?

and, one more, its not a song, its a piece, winkywinky :D
The song was made to convey the composer's feelings for his dying son.
Would love to hear this with instruments tuned to A=432hz...
arrangment?
The harp should've been a little bit louder but its just my point of view. Great performance anyway, really.
I like it!😂 raymond age 7
