I painted my motorcycle tanks and fenders when, Dupont Chromabase came out. I used the Chromabase Clear the paint shop guy sold me. I sprayed about 4 good coats with the proper flash times and the 5th was gorgeous and wet looking when, I left it for the night. I came back in the morning and had to cut all the runs of the bottom of the gas tank. It was like ice syciles hanging on a gutter. 😂
Good work sir! Is the etch primer and primer surface area you use from Napa? I think the part number starts with an FC for etch? What were the part numbers again? Thanks Billly.
There’s a Finish 1 FP301 etching primer, but it’s 1K, so not applicable to a Billy project. I use High Teck 77414 2K self etching primer. You should be able to get it through NAPA, because High Teck is also owned by Sherwin Williams

Hey Billy, first time using upol clear 2882, got a long sag in it , scraped down then hit with 1500, but cut through the base, do i just spray base one quick pass on the area, then continue with my clear as if nothing happened, metalux dark toreador red metallic
I prepare my blade with a piece of1200 or 1500, kinda like a razor strope , then soften the corners a swipe or two! Learned that from a painter mentor of mine. He came from the Florida/Tennessee region back in his youth. Take Care Sensei!
Well done young man! Looks outstanding! When I was in highschool, I worked for a guy who was a graduate of the first class of General Motors Mechanics School. He was not a first class painter! I had to sand his runs, every time he painted a car (he couldn't see very well). I constantly wore my fingers raw. I only wish I had your "razor blade" technique way back then! Where were you Billy when I really needed you? 😂😂

Don’t spray the color too wet over the cut through
