  • On this Episode of Praska Boy's Garage I powder coat and entire Predator 212cc engine that will be going into a 1969 Rupp Scrambler mini bike. I have always wanted to try this and wondered why I've never seen it done before. Well I know why now, it was a lot of work!!! It was so much fun building this engine and I would absolutely do it again! Thank you for watching, and like always, I will see you on the next one!

My plan is to find an original motor but in the mean time this predator will have to do! Just sent off a few more pieces to powder coat to finish the mini bike up!

    I have a question: I’m going to be building a new Predator 212 Hemi and I plan also painting the engine but I plan on using HD wrinkle black on the entire engine and I’m shaving the edges of the fins just like Harley. What do you recommend on cleaning and prepping since I have done this years ago on my 19771/2 Harley Low rider I also remember having to use my oven to cure the wrinkle finish but don’t remember what I used to clean it in order to look factory like mine did back I the later 80’s. Thanks

    • @PraskaBoysGarage
      @PraskaBoysGarage  4 роки тому

      I cleaned mine in purple power degreaser and a scrubber, then rinsed it off with carb cleaner, and blew out with an air hose first before sand blasting. In your case, I would say sand blasting would be over kill but rather use a scotch pad over it before you lay down your paint. Good luck on the project, and touch base after your done and let me know how it turned out!

      10-15 seems pretty loose. Here are specs for a raptor 90 which a lot of 110cc atvs have similar specs. I would research name brand atvs that are similar to yours and look up their info.

    • @PraskaBoysGarage
      @PraskaBoysGarage  4 роки тому

      That is awesome! I will say it can be challenging at times, but very rewarding when your done and riding it for the first time. My advise would be to make a budget first. Look over the entire atv and make a list of what it needs. Then a list of what you want after that. Before tearing it completely apart I would get it running and driving first. The last step should be painting before final assembly. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions!

    • @PraskaBoysGarage
      @PraskaBoysGarage  4 роки тому

      Spark + fuel but it wont fire would lead to a mechanical problem. I would first check valve clearance and make sure you don't have a stuck valve or one with too much slack. If that checks out then I would run a compression test. If compression is low (under 90) then I would find out what leaks and repair. Good luck on the investigation.
