    I rather keep my 2015 Honda CB300 and literally never have to fix it than buying a KTM and replacing headgaskets and pistonrings every 5000 km. Japanese 250/300's are great commuter bikes (ok except the suzi). You just change engineoil and if you are fancy you change fork oil every 15000 km. They are indestructable and very economical. You zip through traffic and have fun with your minus 1 tooth on the front sprocket and your cheap slip on. I wouldn't want to take a 650 to work everyday. I love my 150kg 300 and I will keep it until it breaks in the year 3000. :-)

    As the owner of a CBR300 with 20 000 miles, the bike rides smooth with enough power to do wheelies, outrun most cars (just not on highway) and get you into trouble. The build quality is not bad it actually feels expensive when you ride it thanks to the great brakes and suspension. If you want to buy one as a starter bike, go ahead you will not regret it. It is slower than the other 300's but for a beginner it really has plenty. 300's do not suck, are excellent commuters and are super flickable. You will eventually want more but may decide to keep it while getting something bigger due to excellent fuel economy for commuting.

      another CB300R here, power is ok if you dont ride like a squid, i do several 300+ km rides, not the most confortable experience possible but for the motorcycle itself is perfectly fine.
      i suggest +1 front sprocket because stock one is too short and stock speedometer is 10% optimistic, so with a +1 is only 2% off and cruising 80+ kmh is more relaxing

I love how slim and light the bike is how easy I can handle it and I love being able to ride it aggressively through the regular roads in my town. if it were a 600 it would be too fast to ride that aggressively. It's fine on the high way I agree you might have to be a little patient but There is plenty of people who have lots of fun on 300s. While they may not be your "forever bike" I love my bike and I'll never get rid of it even when I upgrade because it's my first and the memories I've already had on it will stay with my forever.

    Shit talk. 300cc is targeting audience that are looking for reliable bikes, that have enough power to make you feel like you are riding a bike, and again not overpower to kill unexperienced rider. Most of these bikes are used to ride to work or to learn how to ride. Who the hell needs adjustable anithing on bike that will be driven 30min in one direction, 60min per day??? And since they are very simple, they have low price, and they have everything they need to have. I respect Yammie, but this is the talk of highly demanding rider, about the bikes that are not made for his needs.

    • @kannermw
      @kannermw 4 роки тому

      250 dual sports are fun off-road but not so much on the street unless you are just cruising around in town. Shifting is not fun when compared to brisk acceleration, deceleration, and cornering possible from a more powerful bike.

    • @DrBernon
      @DrBernon 2 роки тому

      @@kannermw No. I started with a 125 and now got a duke 390. And I agree that a smaller bike can be more fun. The 125 is way too little, and you struggle keeping high speed. But otherwise, it is so light, the engine revs super high all the time like nothing, plus the clutch and the gear shift is so smooth and soft, you can spend the whole day changing gears. With the 300s the clutch and the gear shift gets stiffer and more tiering.
      And about cornering, you are completely wrong. A lighter bike corners way better and harder than a heavy one. So in the right roads a small bike can be way more fun than a powerful one. I would not go back to the 125 for a trip, but for certain roads, the 125 was more fun than the 390, specially when going downhill. Because the 390 can do the same with a lower rev, and without changing gears. With a more powerful bike, you need to force yourself to keep the revs high. Add that the fact that it is more tiering, and you are less likely to go hard and have the same fun. I can not imagine how much more boring it can be with a 600. I don't even want to know... The sweet spot is between 200 and 400 cc in my opinion.

Seems to check all of the boxes when it comes to an “in-city” bike, which exactly what I plan on doing a majority of the time. Plus the backroads around here are better enjoyed going at a moderate pace (read: under 55 mph).
    So, for that (plus learning to ride as a noob) I personally think 300s are an excellent choice.

    Killing me bro.. watched yammie videos for 2 months before finally buying an R3, based on Yammie's recommendations, last November.. Was bored with it by February and now I have to get something bigger.. No dealerships let you test ride before buying a bike, so now I'm wondering where to go for a 2nd bike

    Come on, fetishists, is this even a word? Seriously though, 300 cc bikes don’t all look the same until, bam, a 390 KTM. Riding a 390 Duke is leaps and bounds compared to other 300s, ABS and different rider controls, this header on the video should have been “300s suck unless it’s KTM”.

    This video is literally just to milk views..it's so stupid and obvious things. He literally wants 300s to have insane technology and considering alot of 300s do actually have slipper clutch,abs etc his point is even more irrelevant. Also how is build quality even bad, these 300s are well built with good ENOUGH brakes dashes etc for a beginner. It's literally picking on very stupid things, like he's comparing 1000cc to 300cc bikes and expects them to be the same or whatever??? "300s aren't fun" BRUH

    • @foma42
      @foma42 4 роки тому +1

      Agreed. I’ve had more fun on my 300 in the month since I started riding again than I’ve had in the last decade of my life. And I specifically went after a bare bones bike because I know that learning on it will make me a more competent rider in the long-run. Why anyone would want ABS or traction control on a beginner bike is beyond me.

      It’s just a series. They go over why every motorcycle class sucks. This is just the “300 sucks” series. Some of his points are a little irrelevant but it’s just conversation

      @@sicdedworm09 I know it's a series, but as I said it's to milk views/make money rather than make a good quality video. I rather watch FortNine's videos all over again than this video. To have a 270 Degree crank is really awesome. The sound like mixing V2 and V4 engine. The Benelli BN 302R sounds very good for a small displacement bike, despite having the weight of an R1.
