    Dragoons didn't disband in 3019. It was there last "supply run"back to clan space. During which Khan Kerlin Ward changed their orders into secretly preparing the IS for the coming invasion and thus Dragoons stoppen relaying info back to the grand council. When Leo Showers became IlKhan he issued a recall order. Only Natasha Kerensky returned as she was the only surviving member with a bloodname and Khan Ulric Kerensky nominated her as his replacement as Khan of the wolves after Ulric was elevated to IlKhan after Leo Showers'death. securing warden guidance for his his clan.
    She would finaly meet her death in the Great Gash on Twycross during the Refusal War aged 78

    Well, one of the RPG modules that Clan Wolverine was a
    not-named clan. My freebirth pilot (in a Puma) ended up earning a
    bloodname but gutting the main Clan Nova NPC antagonist in a knife fight
    (because NPCs in modules only had main skills, but not other skills
    that make a well-rounded character, like Perception or other combat
    skills) and winning a trial of possession and got his Warhawk.

    Was this not the bulk of the Star League's military might? Would it not have been better to stay and challenge the successor states?

    • @danielgrahamandrews9293
      @danielgrahamandrews9293 7 років тому +2

      It wasn't enough to guarantee a clear victory. At best, a bloody civil war, leaving the star league troops in the same beat-up shape as the rest of the inner sphere, even if they won.

      Kerensky didn't want to add to the coming conflict that he knew was coming, as well he tried to see to a peaceful resolution first, which failed. He then figured the best way to preserve the Star League was to remove all loyal forces and go into exile to avoid the Succession Wars altogether.

      Additionally, the sldf had tech that was at the peak of the human race, kerensky knew his sldf would not stay United enough ti Leo that tech out of the houses' hands. And seeing as the houses were already on the brink of wasteful destructive wars, he wanted to remove as much of the super damaging stuff as possible

    • @Jeroen3052
      @Jeroen3052 6 років тому +2

      To save the spirit of the league was important but even more was to spare the IS from another holocaustic conflict. By taking with him the instruments of destruction he hoped the IS would be better of.

    You are wrong about Nicholas Kerensky and Clan Wolverine.
    Nicholas Kerensky was a megalomaniac who was helped get his brother killed. Wolverine liberalized their society to the anger of Kerensky. The won the trial of possession of the cache. Widowmaker false flagged the nuclear attack. Nicholas Kerensky even told McEvedy that he was rallying the clans against Wolverine to unify the clans and consolidate his power. The Wolverines attempted to separate and go back to the inner sphere. Most of their population was killed, but 20% did survive and it is believed they became the Minnesota Tribe, and eventually were contacted and merged with ComStar, forming a secret faction called The Blood.
    Wolverine did nothing wrong.

      From all the source books i have read Clan Wolverine was something of an oddity in Clan society. Apparently they allowed all castes great freedom and had some form of democracy within their ranks (though that wasn't the reason the Clan was destroyed). Clan Wolverine was made an example of because Nicolas was loosing his grip on his society after Operation Klondike. After Operation Klondike the conquered people were basically used to exact revenge against their former overlords. The military elite of all Cland feared that Nicolas would bind their population to himself by allowing them to exact revenge instead of leaving that to the Clan leadership. Most Clans had misgivings most prominently Clan Jadefalcon and Clan Wolverine. Wehere the Falcons smashed the rebellion in silence (the Falcons called it "culling") the Wolverines voiced their opposition openly. Nicolas exploited the politically lesser talented McEvedy and made her an outcast within the Clan council. First it was just a censure but after the Wolverines destroyed Dehra Dun with a nuke (so far i have not found any evidence that it wasn't done by the Wolverines) the Council moved to annihilate the Wolverines. Most fo the Clan was indeed destroyed but civilians and some second-line clusters escaped and apparently made contact with Comstar. The sources I read are Fieldbook: Operation Klondike and The Word of Blake Documents.

    Surprisingly, for the first time I really wish the Inner sphere will be dead and the Clans will be victorious. Inner sphere are so corrupted and I wish to see they all perish by Clans' hands if possible.

    Man, I know it's the popular thing to do is to hate and make fun of the clans...but I like them a lot better than the Inner Sphere. Oh, more space feudalism? Oh, more civil wars, backstabbing, and stupid wastefulness? I'll pass thanks.
    I think the Clans really injected something unique into the setting.

    • @georgekaradov1274
      @georgekaradov1274 5 років тому +1

      Mechta is a daydream not a dream as many translate it...mechty( or more accurate will be mechti) is the plural of mechta

    • @georgekaradov1274
      @georgekaradov1274 5 років тому +1

      Ps. One more thing... the proper translation of "strana" is country as the Country of France, not like country as definiton of rural area. So Strana Mechty is properly translated as the state(nation state/country) of daydreams
