    There is this beautiful commonality between Butch Harmon ideas and Jimmy Ballard (not necessarily how Ballard explained it but what his best students did)---

    Some great thoughts on how to transition into impact, thanks.

    I've just realised what I need to do to achieve this... it's to imagine you're trying to whip a pillow with a big stick in your right hand or throw a low ball toss hard.. that transition comes naturally and the movement starts with the body getting into position before the hands whip down

    watched 2 videos from him today - one had 2 tips and one had 3 - I could not tell what they were - I guess this one was stability at the top, bump the left him and low/dropped under shaft angle?

      @mrjohnhaters 7 років тому +1

      think the gist of it is trying to separate the upper and lower body and try to get the hips and knees to its original position when we start the downswing. But I agree. This is not a good instruction video.

    What this guy fails to say -- it that when the lower body starts to move forward -- what is happening the club is it is just falling straight down -- don't pull it. Let it drop and then turn through it -- and remember you have to square the club face - so in the turn you have to also have your knuckles of your left hand turning down (for a righty).

  • @peternowak3665

    The drop of the club is caused by this wonderful transition? Are you kidding me?

    • @bron2158
      @bron2158 10 місяців тому

      No. Just leave the hands at the top while you start the downswing with the hip turn and weight shift to the left side and it is automatic. The hands and right elbow will drop straight down toward the right hip first. It's what they used to call "dropping it into the slot." Then just fire from there.

    So what are the tips? Lol

    • @juliango9035
      @juliango9035 4 роки тому

      My take away is this. Initiate the downswing by returning the leg back to address. This release the club from the top of the swing for 90% of golfers.

    • @bath4golf
      @bath4golf 3 роки тому

      1. Stabilize the club at the top
      2. Initiate with the lower body
      3. Shallow the shaft under backswing plane on downswing.

    thie video, Like all golf instruction videos starts at the 1:22 mark.. ANY golf video I watch I skip to the 1:30 mark. the beginning is useless fluff.

  • @DASH1ful
    @DASH1ful 8 місяців тому

    Well, all you have to do to start the downswing is mould the hands

  • @m3toz4
    @m3toz4 4 роки тому

    Transition is to load the shaft so you can release the head thru the ball to the target. Understand it first then action will come.

    There are many components to how to improve your golf. One place I discovered that successfully combines these is the Gavs Golf Tactic (google it if you're interested) definately the most incredible guide that I have ever seen. Check out all the amazing information .

    Proper golf swings have to do with understanding how and why they are carried out and those things are found in golf swing techniques “mowosam press” (Google it). My irons raised 15 yards and my driver increased 25 after I finished reading through the tutorial for the 2nd time. Because of these improvements, I am more confident and I am having more fun with golf..

    Justin really does not know what he is talking about. In the past I taught this the same way he teaches, but then I studied biomechanics. There is no rigid stability at the top of the backswing. It has to be a fluid loop from steeper angle of the shaft to a flatter angle of the shaft in the downswing. Experts in biomechanics did extensive research into the best players in the world and came to the conclusion that is no such thing as swing plane...

    • @drstephenwoods

      Exactly! The transition begins BEFORE the backswing is finished and is dynamic not from a static position

    Any golfer who doesn’t start the downswing with the hips first shouldn’t be playing golf.
    It’s a natural occurrence that shouldn’t need to be focused on.
    There’s a lot more important things to focus on in the swing. I.e the takeaway and wrist angles at the top of swing which will help deliver the club through impact a lot more consistently for straighter shots.

    • @jacobr4558
      @jacobr4558 2 роки тому

      Depends on the swing.

    • @markf3229
      @markf3229 Рік тому

      Yes as long as they dot slide.
      Bring the left hip back to set up along with the left knee at same and use that as a platform for the waist up
      keeping as much as you can to the plane, left shoulder and arms follow and if possible late hit with
      forearms and hands.
      Im no pro golfer but works for me

    Correct golf swings are about understanding how and why they are executed and those things are present in golf swing secrets “mowosam press” (Google it). I have read the book two times and made Fifteen yards more on all irons, 25 more on my driver. My enjoyment of golf has doubled and my self-confidence has raised...

    How dare you think that you can critics Tiger woods swing. Tiger woods showed everyone that he doesn't need a Coach to win. He won the Masters, The tour chief and the zozo. How have you won. Teach what you wanted to teach and leave Tiger out of it.

  • @drstephenwoods
    @drstephenwoods 3 роки тому

    Wrong
    The transition begins BEFORE the backswing is finished, not from a static position at the top

    • @markf3229
      @markf3229 Рік тому +1

      Correct. Just before completion it is not a weight shift but a set up for the transition ie by moving
      your left knee horizontally to a point that gives you a solid platform.
      John Rahm does this exceptionally well because of his short backswing.
      Me being solid and not as spry as I was helps me a lot watching his swing.
      John Daly is an exception

    I was able to get a 73-point shot after reading, rehearsing, and performing the steps found in golf swing secrets “mowosam press” (Google it). I was also able to strike 13-18 greens and that was the greatest one I had ever since I started golfing. On the other five holes, I got close to striking 5-10 yards with the green. My handicap is a 9 so I do not shoot 73s all the time. When I contemplate it, I haven’t experienced an outstanding round for a long time..
