I do like how La Blogothèque realized that Bon Iver was gold and maybe the best thing they'd ever capture so they filmed a metric fuuuuck ton. I'm grateful more than 10 years later.
Kevin McQuaid It is very good. I'm not sure a verb is a metric unit of measurement though. It would be like saying "I have two walk tonnes" or "five jump tonnes"
the bit where the camera does circles round them is genius. as the mic gets closer to each of them you get an amplification of what each of them bring to the harmonies and overall sound... AMAZING!!!!
Brendan Wang she did say it three years ago and you said your comment 4 weeks ago and she’s not replied in those 4 weeks so I’d imagine she doesn’t watch it every day anymore.
that camera swirl at the end is pretty surreal and amazing, it really creates this vibe of energy and momentum. on paper it'd sound gimmicky but it was pulled off so well
"Lump Sum" Sold my cold knot, a heavy stone Sold my red horse for a venture home To vanish on the bow Settling slow Fit it all, fit it in the doldrums Or so the story goes Color the era Film it as historical My mile could not pump the plumb In my arbor 'till my ardor trumped Every inner inertia Lump sum All at once rushing from the sump-pump Or so the story goes Balance we won't know We will see when it gets warm
This video always makes me think that these three are magical bards who have managed to create arcane power through their music. As the song continues they grow stronger and more strained as the spell gets harder and harder. The camera spins and the intensity builds. Idk all of these Paris Bon Iver videos are just, magical? They got me through a lot.
I'm a percussionist. and it's so nice to see that in this video, the auxilary instruments (bell set/shakers) are actually being played by a person. Most bands these days have those instruments digitally made, instead of actually being played. It makes me happy that some people still haven't let go of what real music is.
i am 12 years old. i found bon iver last year i do belive. i instantly fell inlove. i dont listen to any mainstream music. because it really ISNT 'music.' THIS is music. thank you justin. much love from Canada.
I love Bon Iver. Their music is real... So pure - there's none of this synthesized instruments crap... Nothing to hide behind. You here the music in it's pure form - all it's faults and perfections. THAT is what makes this band the best band I've ever heard. So beautiful
From every aspect this video is just amazing. The scenery is interesting and intimate, the vocals are absolutely amazing, the instrumentals are unique and easy to listen to, even the camera work is exciting and gripping. Bon Iver excels once again, they have become the biggest "must see" band of the year.
I'm glad you wrote this, same thing happened to me. It's been hard to even listen to old music I used to like after hearing this and really the whole Album. It's beautiful soul capturing music...what music should be. It's spiritual.
Because it's pure . . . It comes from within the soul of those who sing it and therefore it is beauty in the form of melody and song and music. It is real so why wouldn't you cry.
you know when youve not listened to an artist in forever and then you stumble across a video like this you never saw before... it makes me just arggh go all mellow and wanna cry Bon iver stole my heart
The man has discovered his most essential, limitless gift from God and is developing it in unimaginable ways. He is truly a man striving to reach his full potential in life.
It's been a while since i wanted to put my hand on my pocket to buy music. This band somehow made me wanna do it. Just for the brillianceness (if there's such a word). The beauty of their songs is in the small details and simplicity. I'm completely in awe by this...
I've never stopped listening to this album. but stripped back to the band delivering their music in such a way...why do they have to make it even better?! unfair.
I do like how

Shit….I’m old
15 years later, thank you blogotheque for a timeless presentation of a timeless artist
Yes🙏🏼
Amen 🫡
i literally live from Bon Iver
That moment, a song, belongs to timelessness. That is why we are here in 2020, it seems like I will be here again and again.
the bit where the camera does circles round them is genius. as the mic gets closer to each of them you get an amplification of what each of them bring to the harmonies and overall sound... AMAZING!!!!
3:44 - 4:20
This spinning movement was total genius Mr Vincent Moon.
I watch this every day.....not ashamed
me too friend

"Lump Sum"
Sold my cold knot, a heavy stone
Sold my red horse for a venture home
To vanish on the bow
Settling slow
Fit it all, fit it in the doldrums
Or so the story goes
Color the era
Film it as historical
My mile could not pump the plumb
In my arbor 'till my ardor trumped
Every inner inertia
Lump sum
All at once rushing from the sump-pump
Or so the story goes
Balance we won't know
We will see when it gets warm
Hendry Wibisono man, such poetrty.
I am so glad I was introduced to Bon Iver...I can listen to them for hours, days, months and still am left in awe
The music is amazing, but let's be honest, the photography is incredible as well! It really seals the deal for me, so fitting.
This just takes me back to 2007-2008 times. Summed up in the feeling of this song and video
When your a musician yourself, you wish you could write music as soulful and passionate as this. Epic
I love how the camera is like a part of the song. Speeding up and slowing down. It makes the song THAT much more powerful. Lovelyyyyy
i didn't think this song could get any more beautiful.
Both delicate and intricate and raw and primal at the same time. Beautiful as always.

they really are magical
listening to bon iver live is like being in a whole new world.
i love it.
Due to songs and performances like this, I still keep a bit of hope in humanity!
Real piece of ART!
It's amazing how powerful the shaker sounds here. Brilliant.
I'm a percussionist. and it's so nice to see that in this video, the auxilary instruments (bell set/shakers) are actually being played by a person. Good God. The power of music man. That is all.

thank you justin. much love from Canada.
Ur now 22 and that’s frightening
The power the shaker brings at 4:10 is amazing.
I'm just in love with Take Away Shows with Bon Iver.
My favorite song of this year this version, I listen almost everyday and not just once, a lump sum
I love Bon Iver.
Their music is real... So pure - there's none of this synthesized instruments crap... Nothing to hide behind.
You here the music in it's pure form - all it's faults and perfections.
THAT is what makes this band the best band I've ever heard.
So beautiful
A soothing and great beautiful tune that has found its way into our lives.
From every aspect this video is just amazing. S. Carey has grown into a major talent on his own. His recent albums are terrific.
I freaking love it. the harmonization is just fantastic. I'll be watching this video again... and probably a few times after that.
I love how they filmed it, along with the song itself.
It's a perfect comliment to the group.
i really like this version.
i'm pretty stunned by every version i've heard so far.
What an amazing performance.
this right here is what makes bon iver a BAND, and not a solo project- that may have been it's origins..but my has it grown
Wow, just wow. Everything pieced together so well, the music, the camera. Bon Iver is mind blowing.
This is so beautiful, I can't even put it into words.
why do i cry
Because it's pure . . . It comes from within the soul of those who sing it and therefore it is beauty in the form of melody and song and music. It is real so why wouldn't you cry.

It's been a while since i wanted to put my hand on my pocket to buy music.
This band somehow made me wanna do it.
Just for the brillianceness (if there's such a word).
The beauty of their songs is in the small details and simplicity.
I'm completely in awe by this...

Justin can sing about anything and still make it wonderful. That part at the end about Indian fruit is just amazing! ;)

I've never stopped listening to this album. but stripped back to the band delivering their music in such a way...why do they have to make it even better?! unfair.
