I just opened 7 rolls of pennies, 4 of which were wheat pennies and the other 3 were early 60's. I now have work to do. Thanks

Interesting! I saved whole rolls of pennys from my pocket change in every year of the 1960s because that’s when I grew up. Some years have two full rolls. Have at least twenty rolls of 1960s pennys sitting here!
Now I guess I will get one of the guides and unroll each one and go through them! I’m retired and have the time. This should be fun!

Hi I have a good friend that I was telling her that I searched pennies. She told me you want to search some pennies, she had $50 worth of pennies she's been saving up. I've been looking through them 99% of them are memorials. I usually search wheat penny so it's a whole different mindset searching memorials. I did find a 1998 wide A M with the right FG initials.😀 Thanks again for all the great videos.

Same here; numerous pieces actually, not only pennies/"one cent pieces" but all change types ranging from 1901 - 2000's are in my jars. I started sorting them but then just threw them all back together because I just don't know where to begin in getting the true value and selling them. It's apparently a process but I can't seem to get clear honest answers from anyone. No body needs the money more than this struggling single momma!! So I'll hang on to them until...I guess.

The copper 1943 is the holy grail of pennies imo... I've got a 41, 42, and 43... but the 43 certainly magnetizes.
If you've got a 43 that does NOT magnetize you've hit the lottery. Just ask the co-chairman of the Texas Rangers who paid 1 million dollars for a 1943 S penny. Obviously the MS rating has a lot to do with pricing.

Just out of high school in 2002, I worked a rax restuarant. I specifically remember finding 1969 S that caught my eye. Brown and unassuming I kept it because of the doubling in the lettering. An oddity I showed off to my friends and kept in a jewelry box type container. I lost in moving and only years later realized the true value of that coin... 😔 Being an avid error collector now, I'll never forget having the crown jewel slip thru my fingers like that...

It's very interesting that the trade of buying and selling errored coins, namely old Lincoln pennys.Heck I took look through pennies and discovered that I have about 9 1969 pennies and few 1982s and all sorts especially thro6the 70s and I'm learning about the errors on lots of.. especiallythe AM in America touching each other..8 have that has something touching the top of the head and should not be.*I need to learn how to get on an auction websight. And where I can get my coins appraised and certified. There's a coin shop at the pike place market in Seattle that does not deal with errowed coins for most part..But I told them that errored coins is where more money is at. Why limit yourself.if you got extra time, collecting errored coins can turn into a lucrative hobby

Take really good pictures of each side and any anomalies? I would take several pictures of the coins, bills WHATEVER you send even ANYTHING that You sell. I think coin grading companies are very honest. 1 bad review over ANYTHING like what You ,I think are suggesting would put a good honest company out of busness. ANYONE can make a mistake so definitely take those pictures of everything and every angle just to be certain, weight each coin, mark serial numbers down. Keep a log.

My Dad had many filled cookie tins of change coins he’d saved intending to go through them “one day” which never came and he died in 2008. My sister and I rolled them and divided them between us 5 kids as my mother instructed. Wished I’d had this knowledge earlier as I’d have paid closer attention as we rolled. 😁. I still have them put away, so now I have more knowledge of what to look for. Hope I don’t miss anything!!! Thanks again! I’ve read others comments and they have good questions I wish you’d answer but I’m sure you are over whelmed at the number of questions.

Recently I ran into a woman who was handed a bunch of coins from an old timer that had just past in his 90's. She took care of him before he passed. He gave in a felt bag was a 1943 D coin copper penny and she brought to my attention cuz she knew nothing about coins. I told her if it was real she may have over a $250 of million dollars. I told her to go home and put a magnet to it and see if it picks up. So she did and found out that like I told her that it could be counterfeit and it was. So I told her not to get rid of it because even the counterfeit 1943's are worth money. So I told her to become a member of the PCGS Club and get it graded and she may get a few thousand for it at auction. She keeps on wanting to bring in to her work at Royal Farm Store and show me and I told her no. Just send it and get it graded. Just to let you all know that this is here in Maryland. In the White Marsh area. I call it swamp territory poverty area.

I enjoy the "In use Coin Finds" way more than Collector Pristine Coins. They have a different energy - all the people whom carried them - makes them special to me.
Hope to find more works like this. And If found a couple of Contenders - just need to verify.

Its good to see videos like this, that remind us, if we keep our eyes open, anyone could find that "life changing" coin. I'd bet your odds are every bit as good as the lottery, probably better! Being a picker, not a collector, these videoes are more what I'm looking for. Not a fan of a grading, where the mood or attitude of one person in a system that is not consistent with the grading processes, can dictate your coins worth. Everyone that has done videoes on here complains about it with good reason. When I see the difference of what one grade down does to the value.... its discoraging, and risky...

New to watching your vids. I have enjoyed. I did want to ask about a few of these. They seem to be lesser grades than the grading companies valued them. For instance, the 1992 close AM is graded MS62, yet it seems to have a slightly worn cheek. The same could be said for the 1966 DDR. Concerning the bronze 1983, it was give AU58. Definitely glad it was not given a MS grade. In fact, the cheek seemed really worn. I don't think I would have given it an XF rating if I were the one laying any money down for it. Steer me right here. Am I 'seeing' more wear on the coins than actually exists? Thank you

Thanks for this video. I've been looking for more info on "pocket change"finds. That's what drew me to all this, I found an exceptinal error coin. Now, I just dont know what to do with it! I'd like to sell it, but there's more to it I'm learning. I figure pocket or roll searching can't be worse than the lottery! LOL! Pricing is off the charts... there seems to be many approaches, some less than honorable. Fake coins... strong competition, different grading companies (different standards?) If grading companies are standard, why do they grade differently? Very confusing.. . Thanks for your help!

@Six - Excellent Q's. So many coins... so many potential errors to keep track of and so little time to do it. Half the time I wonder if I would even see the more "finer" errors without painstakingly running every last coin past the optics of a microscope twice...obverse and reverse :( I/we need a machine, with a computer controlled camera, that kicks out errors as the coins move past the camera via a conveyor belt :) :) :)
