This one of my favorite movies! This is the first horror movie I showed my fiancé, as she was always afraid of horror movies. She laughed and got scared, but appreciated the emotional Rollercoaster these movies allow you to go on. She loves them now. Glad you two enjoyed it!
Hey Girls! So Glad that your enjoyed this one, its a favorite at my house! To give a small explanation Heather and Burt are stereotypical Preppers (thus the Arsenal in the basement) which is why they were being teased in the market. the Blue machine that you saw Heather start up just before the grabboid showed up is called a tumbler, its used for polishing and cleaning shell casings for reloading and they are especially noisy. Hope that clarifies!
This was Reba's first acting role. I saw an interview where she said she didn't like acting because all you did was sit around for hours doing nothing. Then she saw the movie and after that she loved acting.
21:44 It is a machine that is used to clean used bullet casings with sand and vibration, it is usually used by people who practice shooting, since it is cheaper to have their own refills than to buy new bullets.
One of my favourite "horror" movies. It's more like a cool monster movie than anything else. It's got a great cast, great humor and just an all around "cool" monster that had some thought put into it. Also really good effects. The graboids are sensitive to sound, they quickly "run" away from any noise too loud for them to bear. So when Val threw the bomb behind the last one, he made it speed up to exit the cliff face and fall. Also the little girl (Mindy) in this acted in Jurassic Park. Ariana Richards.
I'm a soldier with PTSD so the conversation about being wimpy, you're not. Now when it comes to: the mind & imagination. The brain can be scarier than most things in real life. With an active imagination it's not hard to re-live the horrific scenes over & over when something in real life reminds you of it. I too love reality for that reason, people are predictable compared to the imagination, especially on your own. That's why I like reaction channels with real humans; it reminds me of watching a video as a kid with loved ones to ground me, until my health took me away from them. Thank you for inviting your sister over. It warms my 🖤 & melts it's icy exterior a little at a time. 🙏thank you for your channel!
Tremors is one of the most fun films ever! The perfect combination of horror and comedy. Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward are so great as Val and Earl. Few people know about Tremors, but everybody who watches it loves it. The first time I watched it was with my Mom. I'm a huge fan of Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward and I got my Mom to watch it by telling her it had Reba McEntire in it. We had an absolute blast!
The sequel is really good to, the third and fourth ones I am kinda iffy on, the third one shows the full life cycle, and the fourth one shows a bit of history. The other ones after that though, those are such a mess, and just don't work out all that well.
@@xanthiusdrake2775 agreed, Tremors 2 is my personal favorite of the entire franchise. I also like some of the episodes of the series (that has nothing to do with that mix master 🐂💩).
The machine that Reba turned on is a brass cartridge cleaner. (the brass part of a bullet) It is for people that reload their bullets once they have fired them instead of buying new ones. They put the empty brass cartridges in the bowl with cleaning media made of corn cob or walnut shells that look like gravel, then turn on the vibrating machine and the cob or shell pieces clean the brass. Great reaction Bed Bugs. There are more Tremors movies in case Carly wants to sit in for another spooky movie.
Went through a bunch of comments didn't see it mentioned but you guys asked about Melvin's parents in the first draft of the script it's stated they regularly leave him alone to run off to Vegas to gamble.
This is one of those films which I never get tired of, no matter how many times I've seen it. So cool to see you two experiencing it for the first time! 😁
This is one of our Family Movies- we've seen it so often we can speak whole conversations just in quotes. My little brother was about 12 when he first saw this and the part where Reba is shown just cycling through the guns and shooting two-handed, I remember his jaw dropped to the floor, he got this amazed/dreamy/hyperimpressed look and breathed out in wonder, "What a woman!" *LOL* We tease him to this day but he did marry a Canadian lady who also likes firearms and going shooting. Probably not a coincidence. Tremors is a GEM. Just perfect!
So glad you watched this one, I love it. One of the best cult classic films! A few hours before you posted this I even used "Can you fly, suckerr??" in casual conversation xD Burt had some great one-liners, too. The patron saint of the survivalist weirdo.
You two are carbon copies of my nieces. If their schedules would allow it, I'd beg them to do these reactions as well. Intelligence, humor and familiarity. That's the formula for a perfect reaction team.
Fred Ward, "Earl" and dad of "Sweet Home Alabama" passed away May 8, 2022. RIP. Fell in love with him when I first noticed him as "Rune" in "Big Business" (1988) with Bette Mdler and Lily Tomlin.
Val & Earl are the perfect odd couple, eg them bickering on the boulder & ignoring Rhonda when she says she has an idea, which was also handled perfectly; rather than complain about being ignored, she just grabs what she needs & shows them how it's done. Here's hoping you'll follow up with at least a couple of the sequels as they're definitely worth a watch.
@@DominiqueMarsell Tremors 2 is very close to being just as good as the first one. 3 and on rely heavily on CGI, but 3 more so than the others. Tremors 4 is a fun story about the founding of Perfection during the mid 1800's and features Michael Gross playing Bert's distant ancestor. I've watched all of them and have no regrets, it's a fun series and you can tell how much Michael Gross enjoys playing the role even as they clearly run out of budgets and ideas. By Tremors 5, they start to just fall into a "graboids, but this time in a new exotic location!" routine. South America, Antarctica, tropical island... but if you enjoy watching Bert Gummer killing graboids, it won't get old.
Someone once described the mind as "a closet that's never cleaned out". What we watch, listen to, and learn stays with us. The vibrating machine in the Gummer's bunker is a brass polisher. Used to polish spent cartridge casings so they can be re-loaded. The firearm that Burt broke the glass to get, is an antique "Elephant Gun".
Not many people saw it in the theaters when it came out, but I'm really happy I was one of them. I was only 7 and went with my dad but I absolutely loved it. I'm so happy it's still so well regarded today
love that you both got to watch and react to this classic. you are both genuine in your reactions and responses. love who you are. extra glad Carley joined you on this one.
The final bomb was thrown just behind the Grabboid (as they're called) basically made it go "AAAAAAHHHH!" and it rushed to get away from the loud noise as it was too loud for it.
I love this movie because all the characters make smart decisions. Believably smart decisions. Too many scary movies have the characters make dumb decisions to create drama, but in this movie the monsters are formidable enough that the characters have to be in top shape to survive, so when you root for them you feel really good when they succeed due to their own cleverness.
The machine in the rec room you asked about is a "vibratory case tumbler" it's used to clean spent brass casings or small metal parts. Or apparently it can also be used to attract really big worms.
This was one of the first "scary" movies I was allowed to watch, mostly because my great uncle let me watch it with his daughters. It has been one of my favorite campy movies to watch multiple times. The machine that was vibrating is for cleaning/polishing brass casings for reloading ammo.
This movie lives in our collection for all time!! Just a well written, excellent cast, and original monsters made this movie way better than it should have been. The casting of Earl and Val was so spot on, and Reba and Michael Gross was so good. I love how everyone there was a microcosm of personality types....it was just sooo good. Great review ladies! Oh and the little blond girl in this is the same one from Jurassic Park!!!

9:50 Perfection Valley is just that. Surrounded by mountains, with just one exit. Small village right in the middle for the few people crazy enough to wanna live in a pocket of nowhere desert. People have often compared Tremors to Nope. Up or down, pick your death.
Oooh, so that's where I got "pardon my French" from. This was a favorite I had on VHS, but hadn't seen in ages. Such good fun, because with the bickering and comedy it's light-hearted. And Rhonda isn't just a damsel in distress, but a genuine science lady who is practical and just does her thing even if Val and Earl are busy being Val and Earl.
21:48 To answer this question, that machine is a Brass/Case Tumbler. It is a handy tool for cleaning out used/empty bullet cases for the purpose of filling them with fresh powder later.
Oh my word, HOW have you missed this one? This was one of my late mum’s favourite films and she’d quote this back to me even as dementia took hold. It’s a magical film that deserved so much more success and features one of the Greatest Bromances of all time.
That was a lot of fun. Great job guys. Saw this in the theater way back when and thought it was gonna be bad, but left really liking it. The filmmakers did a really good job. It's the first movie I can remember seeing Fred Ward in and really liked his performance.
Regarding what happened right at the end: the graboids are hurt by loud noises, and flee from them; when the bomb went off behind the last one, it just ran as fast as it could in the opposite direction... which happened to be into the face of a cliff😁
I always assumed everyone loved Horror, that's how I was raised. Recently I realized more people are afraid, like really afraid of Horror and actually don't watch Horror. This was new to me. Great reaction love your channel.
A good friend of mine worked on this. He talked about how they created the practical effects like making the boards pop up in front of the store by pulling a dowel from underneath with a cable, how they used box springs under plywood for the wobbly roof, etc.. I took me a while, but then I recognized the little girl Mindy, as Lex from Jurassic Park. Heather's (Reba) husband is actor Michael Gross, who played the father on "Family Ties" with Michael J. Fox.

Liked and seconded! I think it was the first film I ever rented from a video store. Definitely shaped my taste for horror and humor as well.
Did it give you a fear of loose soil? Like sand in a desert?
@@loganshaw4527 this question sounds like Exploitation
@@Nerium_Oleander13 poeple had a fear of the ocean after watching Jaws. Even though there was no reason to be afraid the jelly fish are more dangerous.
@@Nerium_Oleander13 yes even I fear sand worms good thing they are not real.
So glad you watched this. Characters that make intelligent decisions and a town that comes together to face a challenge. Such a fun watch!
Mindy is played by Ariana Richards, who was such a good screamer at monsters that she got cast in Jurassic Park three years later.
Wooooow it IS her
I had no idea that was the same girl 😵
Omg 😯
Did not know that!!!
Can’t wait to see what you think of this one! I think it’s funny as hell. This was one of our go-to’s to rent whenever we had a sleepover as a kid.
If they don't talk through the important parts.
@@ComicPhreak They're girls, of course they'll talk through the important parts. Did you watch them watch Shaun of the Dead? Total gabfest 😛
If you have an issue with people talking over a movie, maybe you shouldn't watch reactions? It's kind of the entire premise
I watched this at a sleepover (too young) scared the crap outta me. Could not fall asleep and had to go home early lmao
I was 14 when this classic came out 😭🤣 it's so nostalgic lol
This was Reba's first acting role. I saw an interview where she said she didn't like acting because all you did was sit around for hours doing nothing. Then she saw the movie and after that she loved acting.
21:44 It is a machine that is used to clean used bullet casings with sand and vibration, it is usually used by people who practice shooting, since it is cheaper to have their own refills than to buy new bullets.
Every character in this movie has a personality and a history even if they have only a couple of minutes screentime.
Exactly. (Came to say the same thing:)
Ariana Richards even came back to play Mindy in Tremors 3 which I thought was awesome. Too bad she didn't join the tv show as well.
Yep, also a lot of people miss that he got the idea from his "stampede" prank on Earl at the beginning of the movie, hence the line.
One of the best comedy/horror films ever made PLUS Carly? Best day ever!
Screw the people who complain. I love both of you girls just the way you are. It is what makes this channel so fun
One of my all time favorite horror comedies! Just the right mix of scare, camp and comedy.
Im a huge Tremors fan. Burt Gummer is the man!
*Dark comedy.*
I also died laughing when she said “is that a rocket launcher.”
RIP Fred Ward (Earl). A favorite of mine. Passed away this year. I saw him first in Uncommon Valor, a great movie.
Probably my all time favorite horror comedy. I have seen this movie more times than I can count
My favorite horror comedy is Tucker and Dale vs Evil, but this is up there with it. 2nd or 3rd.
what a CLASSIC.. its in my top 5 EVER..real effects...not any CGI bullshit !!! RIP Fred Ward
It's such a fun movie with the right balance of thrills, comedy, and likable characters that you root for. Glad you two enjoyed it.
The scene with Burt coming back in his truck in "Tremors 2" is one of the funniest scenes I've ever seen
“Doing what I can, with what I have.” The incomparable Burt Gummer.
That quote is actually from Teddy Roosevelt, "Do what you can, where you can, with what you've got." Circa 1897.
"WAY TO GO DUDE!" - Melvin
I use to say that line constantly after this movie came out... for like years. lol
The 2nd and 3rd sequel is wroth a watch..I enjoyed the 2nd one and the third kinda brings it all home, literally..I never cared for the rest of them.
@@shootingreal5945 good to hear, I always wondered about the sequels but never bothered.
There's also a TV series that I thought was pretty good to.
@@andrewe2057 mate, you took the words out of my mouth. 😂 I share the exact same opinion.
Someone once described the mind as "a closet that's never cleaned out". What we watch, listen to, and learn stays with us. You're not a wimp, Carly; you're cautious about what you allow to become part of you. And I'm with you; I don't like feeling dark, either (and I'm former Marine infantry). Hang in there!
Glad y'all liked it and glad y'all watched it together. 💕💕💕
"They're littler than I thought", LOL. I couldn't wait for them to see the real size of those things!
5:14 "They pull me in, and they crush my dreams!" Foreshadowing :P
The vibrating machine in the Gummer's bunker is a brass polisher. Used to polish spent cartridge casings so they can be re-loaded. The firearm that Burt broke the glass to get, is an antique "Elephant Gun".
Not many people saw it in the theaters when it came out, but I'm really happy I was one of them. I was only 7 and went with my dad but I absolutely loved it. I'm so happy it's still so well regarded today
that wouldn't fly in the UK, here it had a 15 certificate, kids wouldn't have been able to get in by law
love that you both got to watch and react to this classic. you are both genuine in your reactions and responses. love who you are. extra glad Carley joined you on this one.
To this day, Tremors is one of my favourite films. I used to watch it every Sunday, for years without fail. I absolutely adore it.
The final bomb was thrown just behind the Grabboid (as they're called) basically made it go "AAAAAAHHHH!" and it rushed to get away from the loud noise as it was too loud for it.
I have seen this movie SO many times I can write the screenplay from memory!
A true cult classic, and yet still underrated. The documentary about it is worth watching.
The machine in the rec room you asked about is a "vibratory case tumbler" it's used to clean spent brass casings or small metal parts. Or apparently it can also be used to attract really
big worms.
Tremors was a movie I was raised with. As a kid we would play termors tag. Fun times.
18:54
According to the original script, Melvin's uncaring parents would often leave him behind in Perfection to go gamble in Las Vegas.
This is one of my favorite movies/franchises from my childhood! I never thought you'd be reacting to this! I'm so excited!
This was one of the first "scary" movies I was allowed to watch, mostly because my great uncle let me watch it with his daughters. It has been one of my favorite campy movies to watch multiple times. The machine that was vibrating is for cleaning/polishing brass casings for reloading ammo.
The camera pan to the wall of rifles is glorious.
Open youtube, see this is my recommended, see Tremors, what a way to start the day. Time to hit the pause button and go make a coffee because this is going to be good!
This is one of those movies where if I am switching channels and it is on, I have to watch it. Very underrated!!
Ariana Richards who plays Mindy Sterngood in this movie is the same actress who played Lex Murphy in Jurassic Park.
One of my favorite moments - "Are those rocket launchers?" LMAO that was a seriously funny reaction.
Regarding what happened right at the end:
the graboids are hurt by loud noises, and flee from them; when the bomb went off behind the last one, it just ran as fast as it could in the opposite direction...
which happened to be into the face of a cliff😁
Tremors is for sure the best "scary but not too scary" movie for these two. Great choice and great reaction.
How about Fright Night ?
@@lewisner The 1985 original?
@@bghoody5665 Yes. The sequel sucked.
@@lewisner I think Fright Night might actually be more scary than this and it doesn't have much humour. Still a great flick, though.
I always assumed everyone loved Horror, that's how I was raised. Recently I realized more people are afraid, like really afraid of Horror and actually don't watch Horror. This was new to me. Great reaction love your channel.
Glad to see you try Tremors. With Carly too!
Love the TV series from 03 as well as all the movies. Burt Gummer is literally my favorite characters of all time. Michael Gross is amazing!
A good friend of mine worked on this. He talked about how they created the practical effects like making the boards pop up in front of the store by pulling a dowel from underneath with a cable, how they used box springs under plywood for the wobbly roof, etc.. He said it was a good gig, except it was hot and they worked hard, but otherwise he mentioned how decent everyone was, which isn't always the case on a movie gig.
Who could be nasty to the crew when Reba is within earshot?
also the stunt woman who jumped into the front end loader broke her ankle when she landed take care
Thats awesome. Thanks for posting the info. This is objectively a perfect movie, especially the writing.
I took me a while, but then I recognized the little girl Mindy, as Lex from Jurassic Park. Heather's (Reba) husband is actor Michael Gross, who played the father on "Family Ties" with Michael J. Fox.
Seeing them together is SO adorable!!! I liked the channel but with them both here....I'd never miss it. : )
Childhood favorite of mine! I thought they were real for a while 😅 SO excited to see yall watch this!
“Can you fly you Sucker!? Can you fly!?”
Love that part.
In the 3rd movie they do 😂
I LOVE THIS MOVIE! I CAN WATCH THIS MOVIE OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND NEVER GET BORED!
It's the wholesomeness that makes PiB what it is.
That, and the occasional Pink Panther theme appearance.
