I will like to see you guys react to The last of the Mohicans (1993) Staring Dany day Lewis And Collateral Staring Tom cruse and Jamie Foxx Both are excellent
The funny thing about when Doc takes off his "rejuvenating treatment", it was actually a prosthetic to make him look a little older that he got tired of wearing, so he tore it off and they repurposed it into the movie
Biff going back to that exact date in 1955 actually makes sense. That was the worst day of his life. He’s brooded over it all these years and now sees a chance to fix it.
When you think about it, by 1985, the sports almanac should've been useless, if not have been made at all, because of how much the timeline had changed, unless the almanac also gets altered as the timeline changes.
@@Arashi257 Considering that in first movie, photograph changed and in this movie newspaper changed, I am pretty sure almanac was also changing accounting for timeline changing.
@@Arashi257 The Almanac was published in the year 2000 or 2001. Having been created in the future and covering the 50 years of sports history prior to it, the Almanac would be constantly changing up through the year it was published. Just like the photographs, newspapers, match book, and fax brought back from the future, which changed accordingly when the history regarding them changed.
I think for a concert, a surprise guest, "Michael J Fox" was "playing" recently He was in a wheelchair and he was NOT actually playing his guitar, he was pretending... My parents laughed too hard.
Fun fact: Nike actually made self fitting pair of shoes for Michael J. Fox (Marty) in 2015. They also modeled them after the shoes in the movie. They did this for him not only because of the movie but because he has Parkinson’s.
That's actually amazing!! Michael J Fox has been such a pillar in his philanthropy and activism, those shoes should be mainstream and made available for anyone with Parkinson's.
I was just about to post this. I didn't know about MJF getting them though, thanks! They are still available to buy iirc, they've done at least a couple of versions.
From a VFX standpoint, this movie is so famous for the creation of the 'VistaGlide' the first motion controlled camera system. Actors had been doing split screen and playing multiple characters in a movie since the 30's but the camera always had to be stationary to match up the footage. Now for the first time you could have camera motion because you could program the camera, film one take, then reset to the beginning, and the actor could play another role with the exact same pan, tilt, zoom, etc. What's always so interesting in clone shots is seeing how they did bits of interaction between the characters played by the same person, like when Marty takes his son's hat behind the bar at the 80's cafe.
ILM had been doing motion control since Star Wars, and the technology had been around for a while even then. Was vistaglide a new way to do it or something, cause motion control wasn’t a technology created for this film.
The Back to the Future films are a master class in consequential scripting. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, that is said or done in the film is related to, a result of, or foreshadowing something else. Even something like Doc's throwaway line at the beginning when the rain stops ("Too bad the Post Office isn't as efficient as the Weather Service.") is foreshadowing for the end of the film when unpredictable weather accidentally sends him back in time while a postal service agent manages to arrive *to the very second* to deliver his letter to Marty.
Important to note: This is not how the filmmakers envisioned the year 2015 to be. Since it is impossible to predict the future, they decided to just make it absurd and fun. And in doing so they accidentally predicted some things correctly. This just shows that reality IS absurd. Some of the things they correctly predicted: -Endless movie sequels -3d movies (though not holographic) -Our obsession with retro stuff. -Video calls / video conferences -Flat screens and wall mounted tv's -Videogames doing away with manual controls (although it was a passing fad) -Drones -Wearable technology -Smart watches and tablets -Biometric devices -Video glasses -Some sports results
Fun fact: Robert Zemeckis & Bob Gale (who wrote the saga together) initially planned all the things happening in 1885 for the 3rd act of the second movie. But the script was so long that they cut it to do a third film. The way they adapted their initial story to get a cliffhanger that good for this movie is just amazing to me. Such good writing with everything falling perfectly into place.
I love the little detail when Biff shows Marty the Almanac in 1985. If you notice it has a clear cover on it which we find out later is because Strickland took the original at the dance back in 1955. Love that little attention to detail
You're right...Definitely a dream for an actor. Michael J Fox got to play 1985 Marty, 2015 Marty, 2015 Marty Jr, 2015 Marty's daughter, and the other 1985 Marty. Tom Wilson got to play 1985 Biff, 2015 Biff, Griff , alternate 1985 Biff, 1955 Biff , voice his grandmother. Great acting..
@@OfficialMediaKnights Actually those Nikes with the power laces were created back in 2011 but the laces werent power laces until 2015 but they aren't exactly cheap LOL! You can get a used pear for only $500 and a new one for a mere $20,000.00 👟💰💵🤑💸
The greatest split screen scene was when they were all in the kitchen. Michael J. Fox was playing 3 different characters, he even poured his other character a drink, and the camera was moving at the same time. They did it with motion control photography and great coordination.
While beloved to many, I don’t think this film gets enough credit. The entire film is both a running callback and completely original. The tiny space where that film could be made was mined to perfection!
I think it's worth giving credit to this movie, though - as a time time adventure, it's amazing. Exciting, interesting, fun, the effects, including the hoverboards..serious too with high stakes.. not to mention the unique idea of taking us back to see and actually interact with the events of the first movie.
What's really funny is that Biff's actor is an exceedingly kind person in real life. He also sings a song about how people keep asking him about the rest of the crew. It's quite funny (And tongue in cheek annoyed)
I’ve met Thomas F. Wilson and can confirm, he’s an absolute angel of a bloke. He found it hilarious when I said I remembered him not only from BTTF, but from Crash Bandicoot : the Wrath of Cortex 😂
The reason Doc has Jennifer unconscious despite he himself suggesting they bring her is because when they made the first one, they weren't planning on doing a sequel. But it was so successful that they made a sequel on popular demand. And they didn't really know what to do with Jennifer, so......
Ha! Called it during our discussion while talking about our negative points. Figured thats probably what happened. Regardless it’s still a fantastic movie!
I got another explanation which fits with the movie: she started to ask too many questions about the future, got on Docs nerves and became a problem 😂😂😂
So, lots of folks ask why Old Biff was in obvious pain when he returned from 1955. Based on the ideas from the first movie, once Young Biff's life changed dramatically, Old Biff (the one who didn't win all that money and became successful) started to cease to be and was feeling the ripples just like Marty at the dance. Once Marty & Doc go back to 1985, there's no longer a way for him to undo what he did, and in a deleted scene, Old Biff fades away.
I dont think you're supposed to think Doc died at the end. I saw this as a kid in the cinema and that never occurred to me. The horror and fear was that Doc has gone somewhere in time, Marty has no idea where and now he's stuck in 1955 with no way to go home. That's where my mind instantly went and that's scary enough in itself.
@@OfficialMediaKnights In the commentary for this movie, the director said that he was worried that people would think that Doc had died and that was why they attached a small preview of the 3rd movie at the end.
@@melodramatic7904 Really? Even though this film itself tells us that he is alive back in 1885? Like, the literal dialogue is "It's from the Doc! 'First let me assure you that I am alive and well'... September 1885. The Doc's alive!" Either you are outright lying, or you are misinformed, or the director covered for Studio interference by pretending that the huge spoiler trailer at the end was his idea. Any of those is possible, I guess. I hope it isn't the first option.
Yeah, I never took it to mean that he’d been killed, although I assumed the intention was that Marty might’ve thought so. The only problem with it from a sorry logic point of view is that the Delorean wasn’t travelling at 88 miles per hour when it got hit, so Captain Pedantic would say that it shouldn’t have time-jumped!
The Back To The Future Trilogy is so great because unlike any other trilogy, i think the three movies connect and call back to each other in ways no other trilogy does unless, I’m wrong. Also a great 1980s sound track helps also.
the art direction for Cyberpunk 2077 got a lot of points from this movie, Total Recall and Blade Runner. "the future" will be forever painted as colorful leather jackets, flying cars, and plastic accents everywhere.
You have to understand, that this is the greatest franchise in movie history. Because it's one of the only elite to have a trilogy actually be good, with the continuity staying intact the entire time. It literally changed our perception of timeline manipulation. Everything made sense, and every single call back was perfect.
I think there is actually no trilogy where all 3 are this good, even my other favorite movies such as alien, aliens m, terminator, terminator 2 don’t survive so well past the sequels (loved them all mind!)
Technically there is a big continuity break when old Biff returns to the main timeline with the time machine from the one he altered so Doc and Marty can return to the altered 1985, but it is easy not to realize it.
Lol Strickland called everyone "slackers." Hell, even in the 1985A, he doesn't even know who Marty is, Strickland thinks he looks like a slacker. And when he's unloading his shotgun on the drive-by shooters, he's like, "EAT LEAD, SLACKERS!!!" Lol
I get all misty eyed whenever you guys geek out or get goosebumps to these movies because that's the feeling of wonder a lot of us felt back in the day watching them and whenever we look back on them, and now we get to relive it through your experience! It definitely helps me appreciate these classics even more. This is why I love (genuine) reaction channels and your channel truly is one of the best because of all your nerdgasms and passion for true art, and not to mention how interactive you are with your audience as well. A huge thanks to you guys for being so awesome, friendly and wholesome!
I enjoyed watching this in the theater on opening night. We had waited years for the further adventures of Marty & Doc, and this didn't disappoint! Biff getting the upper hand gave it an Empire Strikes Back vibe to me, and the cliffhanger ending left me wanting more. For me, it really picks up when they get back to 1955. Keep up the great reacts!
What a wild ride! We can only imagine how the audience reacted to this when it came out. It’s such a blast of a film and the antagonist keeps you at the edge of your seat the entire movie! Love the Empire Strikes Back comparison!
@@OfficialMediaKnightsat least audiences only had to wait 8 months for the finale, rather than the 3 years they had to wait between Empire and Jedi! I don’t think back-to-back sequels had really been done before the BTTF sequels, actually. Originally it was supposed to be one movie, but it the story was so dense and ambitious that the budget was going to be north of $70 million. The studio was very reluctant to finance it and Gale & Zemeckis realised that they were probably trying to squeeze too much into one movie anyway. They suggested making it into two movies, and Universal liked that idea much better! It made more financial sense to them to make two $35 million movies instead of one $70 million dollar movie! It was still a bit of a risk though - uncharted waters - so we got the spoiler-ridden teaser for Part III shoehorned in before the credits to make sure that audiences knew the conclusion was on its way. Really glad you guys skipped that part! Extra fun fact - George Lucas originally intended to film Episodes II & III of the prequels back to back and release them a year apart, thinking that the new digital filmmaking techniques would make the work happen much more quickly. That plan was soon abandoned!
@@Daveyboy100880 after the 3rd ( final film ) of the original story, it would be 16 years before the next SW film. But all we knew back then was Lucas saying "sometime in the future" for another.
They foreshadow the Wild West multiple times in this. Doc’s shirt in the future has trains and cowboys on it and also mentioning his favorite historical area. Biff watching a fistful of dollars. And the control units malfunctioning to Jan 1, 1885. This trilogy is my favorite of all time. I love your reactions!
There's a deleted scene where old Biff disappears after changing the past because he wouldn't exist because of this. And new Biff wouldn't live for that long because he will be shot by Marty's mother. So when old Biff disappearing he not just vanishing like Marty in the first movie, but feels pain from being shot and bleeding out slowly disappearing from timeline. Also the best part of 44:55 is doc can't understand it's him because we hear our voice different when we speak and listen to recording of our speech.
Never understood the scene where Biff returns until I saw the deleted scene where he is disappearing. I was like why is he in pain now? Showing him disappearing makes it obvious that he fucked up his future by changing the past.
I gotta tell you, I absolutely LOVE you guys for not only watching these fantastic movies, but also for being so attentive to details, story and plot points. Your enthusiasm brings me right back to the movie theatre in the 80s! ❤️
Zemeckis knew they would never get the future right so they just decided to have fun with it. Ironically, they ended up predicting some things right (the endless sequels, for example) 😂
Hahaha that was definitely the right choice though, it's the best thing they could have done and it makes us realize the future isn't as cool as in the movies 😂
"Endless sequels" wasn't really a prediction per se, as it was already a thing in the 80s. They just pushed it to the level of absurdity with "Jaws 19." The really crazy thing that actually came true is that the Cubs really did end up winning the World Series in 2016, only one year later than predicted, and something that hadn't happened since 1908.
@@christopherlundgren1700 Yeah, a lot of fans were rooting for the Cubs to make it to the World Series in 2015, JUST so we could have that BTTF2 prediction come true. Having them win the title the year after was the next best thing. It was like, "Eh. CLOSE ENOUGH." LOL.
@@christopherlundgren1700 They also had the Cubs beating Miami in the World Series. The MLB team in Miami did not start playing until 1993, but was known as the Florida Marlins. They did not play as "Miami" until 2012.
There's a cool fan theory that whenever Doc shows up to save Marty (mainly on the rooftop and in the tunnel) Marty actually was killed by Biff, but because Doc has a time machine he can go back and save Marty each time he dies. Doc just never mentions this to Marty.
48:20 This part always kills me. Just the visual combo is Marty clenching all his life together to not scream while Strickland is just chilling and enjoying his drink 😂
Maaan, I felt that slam against the hand, something similar happened to me and it was utterly traumatic😂 Strickland is the main slacker, I think we can all agree on that lolll
This was a different Jennifer. For some reason the original actress wasn't available, so they went with Elizabeth Shue (Karate Kid). This Trilogy is so well made. They threw in so many twists based on time travel theories that the continuity is amazing. I'm looking forward to you seeing the third film. Love the reaction Guys!❤❤
I love this trilogy so much! This is truly so timeless (no pun inteded). I always enjoy watching your reactions and hearing your thoughts about the technicalities of the production of the film. Another great reaction as always!
I’m so glad the almighty algorithm brought me to this channel. You guys bring such bright filmmaking minds to these reactions and it’s so refreshing. Not to mention we seem to have almost identical gaming tastes as well lol. It’s been amazing reliving some of my favorite movies and most impactful cinematic moments with such an intelligent and hilarious couple. I can’t wait to see what you guys do next! PS: They hung George McFly upside down in that contraption to help hide the fact that Crispin Glover wasn’t playing him. It was Jeffrey Weisman.
No I was a kid watching this and never thought that Doc died at the end, just that he was lost in time somewhere, which for me was much scarier of a thought. FUN FACT - Michael J Fox also played his daughter in the future aswell.
It's soooo cool that Michael J Fox played his own daughter, we would never have guessed that!! Also yes, just the thought alone, of Marty being stuck in the past is horrifying!
16:08 "I wish I could go back to the beginning of the season, and put some money on the Cubbies." This character is Terry. He is played by Charles Fleischer, the voice of Roger Rabbit (another Robert Zemeckis film). Terry is the mechanic that fixed Biffs car in 1955. You can see him again at 40:09 played by the same actor. There is a deleted scene of him arguing with Biff in the future about the money Biff tried to stiff him. In that little argument, he states the exact day he fixed his car: Nov. 12th, 1955. This is apparently the reason Biff chose to back to that date.
Yay! Glad you returned to film from TV. Most never notice the similarity in atmosphere from this film to 'It's a Wonderful Life' with the twist that the son (Marty) sees life without his father instead of the father himself (George). These Hollywood guys live film and are very clever.
All the things that you guys point out as reasons why these films are classics (split screen, continuity callbacks, etc) are because of the innovations and style of Robert Zemeckis! Zemeckis is a genius filmmaker right up there with the greats of that era (Spielberg, Coppala, Lucas, Scorsese, Cameron). Please check Zemeckis's stats - BTTF, Forrest Gump, Roger Rabbit. We need to put more respect on Robert Zemeckis's name! Good reaction.
I agree. Zimeckis’s films have always pushed special effects into the next new era. This film, Roger rabbit blending cartoon animation into real life, Forrest Gump and all the effects that you didn’t even notice. (In a good way)
The first film to have live-action and animation on-screen simultaneously was much earlier. It was 1945’s The Three Caballeros, produced by Walt Disney.
The trilogy all connect and fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. they complete each other. This is why if you enjoyed the first one, you have to watch all three to see how they all piece together. It's really a great trilogy, one of the best of all time.
Fun fact: In the Spanish version, they rightly decided to call Marty 'Levi Strauss' because Calvin Klein was an unknown brand in Spain. That's some good localization work.
The second one always was my favorite, even as a kid. Seeing the first movie again with another point of view was something I never saw, never even imagined it could be made. I love the darker tones, the continuity. To me its a perfect trilogy.
This sequel was just genius......and the ending was sublime leading into the next movie,i think Zemeckis and co were lowkey flexing in how to make a perfect intertwined movie, top tier!
I've watched the trilogy for like 40 times in my life. And for sure 20 or so reactions. And it is still mesmerizing. What a gift to watch these movies for a first time. And to be honest, your reactions are one of the best. Liked it very much. Thumbs up.
Who knew that even more fun than watching things repeated with a slightly different plan would be in the future (now) watching different reactors react to each movie! I think I've seen around 12 different BTTF trilogy reactions so far, and it's interesting which things are picked up on and the reasoning (and wows) in the commentaries, your's are always superb, thank you!
The two most impressive VFX shots to me are 1. The flying DeLorean landing in 1985A and pulling into Marty's driveway, because it seamlessly blends a VFX model shot with footage of the real car driving, with the lamppost as the divider. 2. Young Biff tossing the sports almanac into Old Biff's lap in the car despite them being two separate shots.
Thank youuu, we are so glad you're enjoying our videos! Also omg we didn't catch that at first, but flipped out when we were told it was fricken Frodo!!!
Cannot wait to see you do part 3. Taken as a trilogy its one of , if not the best trilogy of all time. Part 3 is my favorite but part 1 is most people's favorite. All 3 are really really great.
Fun fact: USA Today printed the newspaper on 21. October 2015 with current events and the front page of the movie, an American friend sent it to me to Germany
I could be wrong cause i was a kid when these came out...but if I member correctly because of the success of 1, part 2 and 3 were made at the same time.....thats why the second runs into it so perfectly. The second one really did hold the same type of charm....which isnt easy to do....the first movie was always watched by my parents growing up....to this day, my Mother who is almost 70, still will watch it and laugh....she wasnt so far off from being a kid in 55.....so it is cool to see. Thanks for the vid!
I saw the first one when it came out with parents who had been young adults in the 50's, and I was a young adult. I did have to explain why people in the audience reacted with recognition to the "you're just too darn loud" scene.
Not just the great callbacks to the original, but some cool foreshadowing for the final film. You guys are so observant, you'll no doubt catch them upon that reaction.
"I wish we had flying cars." Trust me, you don't. The really amazing thing is that they re-enacted most of the sequences from the past film, but they didn't have Crispin Glover anymore, so they managed to hide the fact that he wasn't George in this film. I mean, they did Crispin dirty, but they did an amazing job hiding it.
37:55 some people say that Biff actually killed Marty in that scene and when Doc learned this, he returned back with delorean to exact time to save Marty at the rooftop:)
The Apprentice was a facade role ( insiders say they had to edit out his moments of bigotry & misogyny ) - he was a serial failure at business, including a failed CASINO.
@@jonpevehouse I think you've become lost in the wrong conversation. It sounded like you were jumping to the defense of a selfish, lying, cheating, insecure loudmouth braggart a$$hole... surely that's not the kind of success you would like to see more of in this world. I have been so looking forward to this reaction, and it did not disappoint. I have been a child of the 80’s all my life, and I still remember the time when I first saw this one in the theatre: it blew my young mind away. For me this has always been my favorite part of the trilogy. I love the many clever moments going back and forth to the first movie and injecting them with new scenes. And hey: it’s the 80’s what’s not to love right? This reaction was awesome: I was smiling during the entire video, and it was almost as good as watching this film for the first time again. Pretty much the highest compliment I can give you guys! Thanks, and keep up the great work😊
Thank you for the massive compliment and for your generosity! It truly means the world to us to hear how much you’ve been enjoying these ❤️ We’ve been having a blast with these 80’s films!
Im 41..you cant imagine the impact those movies had one my life (and those of my friends of the same age)..I wanted those shoes SOOOO badly..to this day I have a lego BTF Time Machine on my desk and I wear Back to the Future T Shirts below my suit at work...This is really the only trilogy EVERYBODY loves
Fun fact, the actor who plays Biff is Coach Fredricks in ‘Freaks and Geeks.’ And the actor at the end that handed Marty the letter is also the Dad of the Weir family from it as well!
you two are an ABSOLUTE DELIGHT reacting to the BTTF movies! I watched II at the movies when it came out - it was such a big deal for me that I painted the back of my jacket with Marty McFly from the movie poster before going to watch it :-D Nine or ten years ago I was incredibly lucky to go to Secret Cinema's Back to the Future event, where the movie was screened on a reproduction of Hill Valley town hall, some of Hill Valley was replicated and you could actually visit houses/stores etc. You had to dress as if it was the 1950s.. They hired actors to do all scenes as the movie was playing, AND they had a real Delorean that zoomed around the square at the end of the movie - it was unforgettable. If they ever do an event near you...GO!!
Probably someone pointed out stuff in the comments, but... 1) One of the two kids playing Wild Gunman is Elijah Wood, Frodo's actor. 2) Michael J. Fox played his daughter 3) Old George McFly is upside down because he's not played by the same actor, so they didn't want people to acknowledge it. It's the same reason why he's dead in the alternate 1985.
Oh yeah, Crispin Glover sued the studio over #3 and won. I believe it was over using his likeness without permission and I am pretty sure it set a new legal standard for using likenesses in film (it's been a while since I read on the subject)
Apparently (according to Jeffrey Weissman who played the role here) George was already written as being upside down in this device when they still thought Crispin Glover would reprise the role. The reason was that during filming part 1 Glover often ignored his marks where to stand (which f*cks up focus for the camera operator), so they wanted to make sure he wasn't able to move freely on his own. But if course it helped tremendously after they recast the role.
I desperately love this movie since my very childhood in the 90s, where I lived in some post-Soviet country. It was a big part of my vision of ThE fUtUrE back then. And my most memorable recent rewatch for sure occurred on October 21, 2015. When my childish future became a retrofuture at once. 'Twas kinda bittersweet but cool anyway.
i know some people have mixed feelings about the trilogy as a whole. But from the standpoint of 11 year old me, looking at these movies for the first time...seeing Marty running down that street to the Doc at the end of this movie basically created my imagination. It opened that kid's mind to things that it never knew could exist. A time loop? A movie within a movie? This flick was meta 30 years before meta was a thing. Even now when I think of the coolest piece of tech that I can imagine, I can't think of anything topping the DeLorean. It's chef's kiss.
I saw this movie when it came out, and like both of you, were blown away by the way they were able to inject this movie's scenes with the first movie. Still holds up after 30 plus years.
1. It's not often sequels hold up to the original, but this does. Thank you 1980s. 2.IMVHO this one is the best of the trifecta. The next one is inventive but I'm not really into the story. That said, it is the perfect wrap.🤩 3. The stunt woman that flew into the glass window partially missed and injured her arm. 4. Michael J. Fox also played Marty's daughter. 5. Sammy Hagar, "I can't drive 55"😎 6. Good thing Biff shoots like a Star Wars stormtrooper🤣 7. The tunnel at the end is the same one they used for Tune Town in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit"
8. The silver futuristic car in 2015 parked in front of the classic VW Beetle in the town square, was Centauri's Starcar from the 1984 movie "The Last Starfighter".
I watched this movie for the first time on dvd at 7 years old and been my favorite movie ever since I’m glad you both enjoyed the film as much as a do watching it ❤❤🙌🏽🙌🏽
I _love_ the parts in 1955 that pull old and new together! 12 Monkeys, Predestination, and Tenet are time-travel movies that all do the "Oh, _now_ I get it!" thread-collecting really well. Predestination especially is amazing and is tragically unknown.
When I first saw this in 1989 I was absolutely convinced hover boards were a real technology and not special effects. I couldn't wait for them to come out in the stores.
This is my favorite of the trilogy. Complex, captivating, and without a clear happy ending. A truly epic sequel that enhances the original and is maybe even better!
Fun fact. Doc couldn’t have known when Marty would leap off the roof. Meaning the likely scenario is that Marty either fell to his death or was shot, Doc saw this hours after the fact, and then went back to do it again until he survived.
That’s just a fan theory, it’s entirely plausible he was just waiting for Marty outside the building and they had planned for a quick getaway if need be.
When we saw Back to the Future 2 when it first came out, it was uncertain what would happen in the upcoming Back to the Future 3. So the very slight possiblity that the time machine could be destroyed by lightning could happen and for a few minutes, I thought it, and Doc, were destroyed. The time machine could deal with lightning that was directed into the flux capacitor but if it were struck by lightning it is possible that it would be destroyed. Watching you watch this movie reminded how much this movie blew people's minds back when it came out.
Imagine seeing that cliffhanger for the first time as a kid. Granted, I've experience worse cliffhangers (Across the Spider-Verse, for example), but still.
@@OfficialMediaKnights How about Charles Fleischer as both young and old Terry. He was the voice of Roger Rabbit. The tunnel that 1955 Biff chases Marty through is the same one used for Who Framed Roger Rabbit which Christopher Lloyd also stars in. 1983 early version of Who Framed Roger Rabbit had Paul Reubens voicing Roger Rabbit who looked more like The Trix Bunny. Jessica Rabbit was blonde and much less sexual and flat chested in the early version LOL!🚗🐰🎥🎞P.S. Harold Lloyd no relation to Christopher Lloyd is the man scene hanging from one of Docs clocks in the Back To the Future intro. Which is from the 1923 film Safety Last!⏰🤔🕵
You guys are one of my top reactors! Your knowledge of film-making adds to the enjoyment for me. Like talking about split-screen. I dont know about this stuff! Very cool. I also like how long your outros are. No one else does this. Thanks, Media Knights!
Hell yes. Another classic. They almost predicted the Cubs world series win, but it was off by a year 😛 and they did predict an MLB team in Miami. Marlins didn't come to be until 1991
In BTTF Pt. 2, this "Miami" team that fell to the Cubs in the "2015" WS is supposed to be in the American League. In actuality, the Miami team that currently exists, the Marlins (and yes, they were originally the Florida Marlins), is in the same league as the Cubs, that being the National League. And go figure, the Marlins are 2-time WS champions (1997, 2003)...
INCREDIBLE reaction-thank you so much! It was like reliving the first time I saw this in the cinema as a kid back in 1989, and yes, we kids back then LOVED the hoverboards! Robert Zemeckis even trolled fans in an interview back then by stating that hoverboards were real but the manufacturers weren't selling them to the public because of safety concerns, and us gullible kids were desperate to get one! In fairness, I was only 11, so I won't be too hard on my naivety back then! 35 years later, and we're still waiting! Anyway, thanks again, can't wait to see your review of Part III! 🔥🔥🔥

Back to the Future (1985) Movie Reaction: ua-cam.com/video/MK3BqsT67TM/v-deo.html
Guys watch ratsasan (2018). It's one hell of a movie
I will like to see you guys react to
The last of the Mohicans (1993)
Staring Dany day Lewis
And
Collateral
Staring Tom cruse and Jamie Foxx
Both are excellent
Another Micheal fox movie which really entertaining
Is The Hard Way
The funny thing about when Doc takes off his "rejuvenating treatment", it was actually a prosthetic to make him look a little older that he got tired of wearing, so he tore it off and they repurposed it into the movie
Another great 80s Sci-Fi movie I recommend watching is The Fly, 1986!
You missed baby Frodo. Elijah Wood was one of the kids Marty was showing how to play the video game.
Can't believe we didn't catch that in the reaction, that is so cool!!!
Jesus i am this many years old when i found out frodo was in this.....and I've watched since the 80s
Dont forget jason scott lee and billy zane
Most people also miss the Huey Lewis cameo in the first film as well - even though the film started with his music and Marty is playing his song.
and "Marlene McFly" by Michael J. Fox
"It's like the wild wild west out here!"
You know, it's funny you should say that.
I LITERALLY had that *exact* same thought, lol!
"The guy's a genius!"
Biff going back to that exact date in 1955 actually makes sense. That was the worst day of his life. He’s brooded over it all these years and now sees a chance to fix it.
He also picked a day and time that had an example game in the almanac that was extreme enough that his young self would beleive him right away.
Most people don't know that Michael J fox is an exceptionally good guitar player. That was his original desire for his career
I think for a concert, a surprise guest, "Michael J Fox" was "playing" recently
He was in a wheelchair and he was NOT actually playing his guitar, he was pretending...
@@TheOnlyGazzLam they gave him the shoes on oct 21, 2015. Which they filmed. And then on oct 22 they showed it off on jimmy Kimmel shows
@@TheOnlyGazzLamCorrect. They just don’t have power laces on the released versions iirc
nice move from nike 😁
Love the ingenuity of combining newer technologies with a classic effect. The results look phenomenal!
ILM leading the way as per usual. At least at that time.
ILM had been doing motion control since Star Wars, and the technology had been around for a while even then. Was vistaglide a new way to do it or something, cause motion control wasn’t a technology created for this film.
@@OfficialMediaKnights Rewatch the pizza scene now knowing that 3 Michael J Fox hands are taking a slice (Dad, son and daughter)
You forgot another fun fact:
dinner scene was almost ruined. They luckily finished filming scene before earthquake hit the area and ruined set
I never caught that!
Damn, you're right and I watched it countless times
after 35 years and it never fades... Defiantly a classic. But I can think for a few more "Groundhog Day', "Ghostbusters 1 and 2"
Important to note: This is not how the filmmakers envisioned the year 2015 to be. Since it is impossible to predict the future, they decided to just make it absurd and fun. And in doing so they accidentally predicted some things correctly. This just shows that reality IS absurd.
Some of the things they correctly predicted:
-Endless movie sequels
-3d movies (though not holographic)
-Our obsession with retro stuff.
-Video calls / video conferences
-Flat screens and wall mounted tv's
-Videogames doing away with manual controls (although it was a passing fad)
-Drones
-Wearable technology
-Smart watches and tablets
-Biometric devices
-Video glasses
-Some sports results
"No, it ain't homework because I ain't home"
Why haven't I used this more in my life?
RIGHT?! This would have been so useful in our school days 😂
It's even better when you say it to a teacher whilst at school doing homework in class, you can see the frustration and their brains melting 😂🕺
because you're not a slacker!
would it be either after the teacher goes over the stuff and assigns it and home room.
Even when Marty buys it the lady in the store says "oh neat this one has a dust cover."
You forget he plays all the Marty's but he also plays his daughter
Yes!! It's amazing the versatility Fox has as an actor, we are so impressed!!
I never knew the first couple of times I saw the movie.
Everyone must have had a blast playing all their "versions". I would have loved being a fly on the wall to see the filming. 🍿
Well all the characters play all their versions lol
Back to the Future is the iconic classic, but Back to the Future 2 is the one I return to again and again and again.
In good trilogies it's usually the socond I return to as well. This, Two Towers, Empire Strikes Back.
@@Kasino80 mee too, Karated Kid II, Indiana Jones Temple of Doom, Aliens, etc.
The 3rd is my favorite of the sequels, it has a lot of heart. Can't wait!
We are so excited for the third one, we cannot wait!!
I think it's worth giving credit to this movie, though - as a time time adventure, it's amazing. Exciting, interesting, fun, the effects, including the hoverboards..serious too with high stakes.. not to mention the unique idea of taking us back to see and actually interact with the events of the first movie.
@@OfficialMediaKnights So, when are you guys doing that one? :P
I mean, to me its the most boring one :S this part2 its the wildest to me, best effects, more creative!
I got a big kick out of the third one❤
What's really funny is that Biff's actor is an exceedingly kind person in real life. He also sings a song about how people keep asking him about the rest of the crew. It's quite funny (And tongue in cheek annoyed)
I’ve met Thomas F. Wilson and can confirm, he’s an absolute angel of a bloke. He found it hilarious when I said I remembered him not only from BTTF, but from Crash Bandicoot : the Wrath of Cortex 😂
One of things they almost got spot on right is the Cubs winning the World Series. In reality they won it the next year, in 2016.
Yeah, imagine they said it was all happening in 2016 and not 2015
@@pkmntrainerian1092They were in the playoffs in 2015 so they almost got it right
The shot for shot remake of the end of the first movie at the beginning of this one is one of my favorite pieces of cinema ever.
It's also a different actress, so that's part of it too
You didn't even notice ... Marty's daughter is played by Michael J Fox.
@@birdmanhero Isn't it literally Madelyn Stillwell from The Boys S1 btw?
Absolutely agreed, just the idea of Marty being stuck in 1955 with no way back gave us chills!!
@@cristonsloan I this was more as a emotional support for younger viewers. So you could point and say look he's alright.
The running gag of a Tannen being taller than a McFly always gets me lol

"the future" will be forever painted as colorful leather jackets, flying cars, and plastic accents everywhere.
“Live the good life, in the off-world colonies.”
You have to understand, that this is the greatest franchise in movie history. Because it's one of the only elite to have a trilogy actually be good, with the continuity staying intact the entire time. It literally changed our perception of timeline manipulation. Everything made sense, and every single call back was perfect.
Other Great Trilogies:
Star Wars
Lord of the Rings
(Arguably) The Matrix
@@robbob5302everyone forgets Toy Story
I think there is actually no trilogy where all 3 are this good, even my other favorite movies such as alien, aliens m, terminator, terminator 2 don’t survive so well past the sequels (loved them all mind!)
I would add the first three Bourne movies to the list of great trilogies.
Technically there is a big continuity break when old Biff returns to the main timeline with the time machine from the one he altered so Doc and Marty can return to the altered 1985, but it is easy not to realize it.
Michael J Fox also played the daughter in the future. So he played four different people (young and older Marty, the son and the daughter)
Now he tells me. Where were you when I was putting up posters of her on my bedroom wall?..... no regrets though
Five, he also played his alternate self in 1955.
I have noticed a lot of reactors seemed to miss that. I wonder how the hell they can't see that is Michael J. Fox with a wig on???
I love all the hints at part III along the second movie. Doc's shirt, the game in Cafe 80s, Doc talking about him studying women.
biff watching clint eastwood
I just love how George McFly wasn't the only one the principal called "slackers", Biff is part of 'em too 😂
Lol Strickland called everyone "slackers." Hell, even in the 1985A, he doesn't even know who Marty is, Strickland thinks he looks like a slacker. And when he's unloading his shotgun on the drive-by shooters, he's like, "EAT LEAD, SLACKERS!!!" Lol
Doc warns Marty about running into his past self and creating a paradox. Later he meets his own past self and creates a pair o' Docs. 😁
Next up - one of the best westerns of the 90s
Can’t wait to share part III! These films are excellent!
Marty's disguise gives a +5 to all stealth checks, +2 to riding motorcycles, +3 to cyborg coolness, and a -10 to resist bears.
My little brother and I used to watch this movie every time it came on cable. We still know it by heart and still love to quote it
I gotta tell you, I absolutely LOVE you guys for not only watching these fantastic movies, but also for being so attentive to details, story and plot points.

There's a cool fan theory that whenever Doc shows up to save Marty (mainly on the rooftop and in the tunnel) Marty actually was killed by Biff, but because Doc has a time machine he can go back and save Marty each time he dies. Doc just never mentions this to Marty.
Damn. That's heavy, doc.
But when you go back, there's two of you.
If he went back to save Marty, what would happen to his alternate self?

Same watch as a kid in theater never thought Doc died just that he time travel.
16:08 "I wish I could go back to the beginning of the season, and put some money on the Cubbies."
This character is Terry.
Related fun fact, in the French Version, Michael J Fox voice actor is also the voice of Roger Rabbit.
@@Camuska Haha, yep: Luq Hamet. I had to look it up. That is amazing.

(In a good way)
Yes!
Romancing the Stone... That movie definitely deserves a reaction.
Also Castaway and Contact.
The first film to have live-action and animation on-screen simultaneously was much earlier. It was 1945’s The Three Caballeros, produced by Walt Disney.
btw marty's boss ( needles) is Flea, Red hot chilli pappers bass guitarist:)
In French, he's Pierre Cardin.
It doesn't work as well, because Levi Strauss was already a brand in 1955.
"Pierre Cardin" in French.
Denise bobbing her head along to the music is the most adorable thing I’ve seen all week. Thank you, Knights. I needed that bit of joy.
The second one is very close to be better then the first one. Fantastic writing, great acting and a perfect script of many different timelines.
Absolutely agreed, they handled the change in tone amazingly and gave us yet another incredible story with one of the best duos in film history!
Y'all are going to love the third one!
I'm glad you didn't watch the spoiler at the end 🙂
Love the Reactions! In case you didn’t notice, the little boy playing game in Cafe 80s was FRODO BAGGINS!!

Cannot wait to see you do part 3.
Taken as a trilogy its one of , if not the best trilogy of all time.
Part 3 is my favorite but part 1 is most people's favorite.
All 3 are really really great.

I thought flying cars would be a good 💡 not anymore
37:55 some people say that Biff actually killed Marty in that scene and when Doc learned this, he returned back with delorean to exact time to save Marty at the rooftop:)
Bob Gale, the screenwriter, said that Biff Tannen's character was inspired by Donald Trump. Because he's always been this way - even decades ago.

Surely that's not the person you hope to be? That you would hope your children would be? Or have to coexist with?

@@OfficialMediaKnights You are very welcome. And really thank you, this has made my day 😊
Im 41..you cant imagine the impact those movies had one my life (and those of my friends of the same age)..I wanted those shoes SOOOO badly..to this day I have a lego BTF Time Machine on my desk and I wear Back to the Future T Shirts below my suit at work...This is really the only trilogy EVERYBODY loves
Don't forget the hoverboards, I still waiting for it
I love just how invested Denise is and how passionately she hates all versions if Biff
Fun Fact: the marquis on Jaws 19 has Max Speilburg as the director 9:27
Max Spielberg is Steven Spielberg' (the producer of the BTTF trilogy) son.

@@MLJ7956
Steven Spielberg is also the director of Jaws, so it is a meta reference to his own series.
Fun fact, the actor who plays Biff is Coach Fredricks in ‘Freaks and Geeks.’ And the actor at the end that handed Marty the letter is also the Dad of the Weir family from it as well!
Doc gets hit with three lightning strikes in a row. It’s really a miracle that Doc did not explode.
you two are an ABSOLUTE DELIGHT reacting to the BTTF movies!
Fox played his daughter
3) Old George McFly is upside down because he's not played by the same actor, so they didn't want people to acknowledge it.
Not 100% on this but I think Crispin was also asking for a lot of money. That and the trouble he caused during first filming got him booted.
Did his freak-out Letterman get him fired from the sequel?
I rewatched this film at the cinema on Oct 21 2015 and the entire crowd cheered when Marty goes to the future
I was like 9 or 10 when this came out. People have always wanted those NIIKE'S and people have always wanted hoverboards.
That said, it is the perfect wrap.🤩
3. The stunt woman that flew into the glass window partially missed and injured her arm.
4. Michael J. Fox also played Marty's daughter.
5. Sammy Hagar, "I can't drive 55"😎
6. Good thing Biff shoots like a Star Wars stormtrooper🤣
7. The tunnel at the end is the same one they used for Tune Town in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit"
8. The silver futuristic car in 2015 parked in front of the classic VW Beetle in the town square, was Centauri's Starcar from the 1984 movie "The Last Starfighter".
I watched this movie for the first time on dvd at 7 years old and been my favorite movie ever since I’m glad you both enjoyed the film as much as a do watching it ❤❤🙌🏽🙌🏽
My morning was completed with this notification. You guys are awesome. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!
That means the world to us! Thank you for the love and support! Have an amazing weekend ❤️
Ohhhh that cliffhanger was devastating, but this one also must have hurt in cinemas!! Imagine having to wait for the next one 😭
Twin Peaks. It was some 25 years before what happened after the final episode came.
Part 2 is hands down my favorite, and I love how they were able to bring it back to 1955 that is so cool to me.
Man you guys uploaded yesterday AND today. There is no stopping you 😂
We’ve been on a streak! ❤️
It was pretty impressive that Michael J. Fox played 1985 Marty twice, 2015 Marty Sr., 2015 Marty Jr. and Marty Jr.'s sister, all in this one movie.
Did you guys notice Elijah Wood (Frodo) at the videogame scene?
We missed it while watching because we didn’t recognize him! Once it was pointed out we freaked out! Haha
They did not play as the Miami Marlins until 2012. They were originally known as the Florida Marlins.
@jimj9729 and were located in Miami since 91, what's the point? Still predicted a Miami team lmfao
