One of the best PC games ever made. The game looked amazing with the fake perspective option which was enabled with the Glide renderer. Good times, I still listen to its soundtrack to this day.
A few years ago, i was so excited. After hundreds of hours in games like Farcry 5 I upgraded my RX 580 8GB to a 6800xt in anticipation of next gen. 15 hours of Farcry6, 20 hours in Cyberpunk and now I just play Diablo 2, Terraria and old co some emulators waiting for something to come out that justifies the $600 upgrade lmao
My family had a Intel Celeron 3 498mhz pc, with a 3DFx Voodoo 3 card, I think it had 16 MB of Vram. 10 GB hard drive, and 128mb Ram..I had read the previews in PC Zone or PC Gamer, and a few weeks later played the demo to death, and snapped up the game on release...rejoiced at the release of LOD...such an awesome upgrade, one extra act, one extra resolution, 2 new characters, and the introduction of the Runeword system....This was Diablo at it's highest point.
@@66mhzbrain It perfectly works with the Voodoo 3 and Banshee. I'm sure that it works with the other 3dfx cards too. You just have to add -3dfx to the Diablo2 shortcut properties.
Strangely I never played Diablo2, but enjoyed 1 too much. Played it on 486/SX25, some Cirrus Logic. Quite a slide show, but playable once music turned off.
@@3dfxvoodoocards6 I think I can remember that it was very low FPS but Im unsure, It quite old ^^ edit : Of course it was diablo 1. Diablo 2 cannot run on such a computer.
Most probably yes. Unfortunately I do not have a Voodoo 1 now to try it out. On the Banshee it works perfectly in Glide and it most probably works with a Voodoo 1 too.
It seems hard to search for a specific video on youtube these days. So much junk to sort first. I think I remember a Russian guy running it with Pentium 233mmx but it was not full speed, but with a faster cpu I think it has a chance@@3dfxvoodoocards6
I wonder.. Since Diablo 1 and 2 are 2d games, would they even benefit from Vodoo 1, a pure 3d accelerator card, or would they just use the 2d card Vodoo 1 would be paired with?
@@BooruvcheekGood point, D2 certainly feels like a 2D game. But maybe not completely, cause i can see some video options typically related to 3D (perspective, shadows, lighting)-
@Booruvcheek if the game wouldn’t have benefited for a 3D card I guess Blizzard wouldn’t have bothered with Glide or Direct3D support. But they did, so I guess Diablo 2 benefits from running in Glide or Direct3D even though the difference compared to Software Mode seems to be minimal.
This was a great game! Too bad BLIZZARD botched the remake (Diablo II Resurrected) and it stutters and lags to an unplayable degree. I lost all trust in BLIZZARD a developer once used to release only highly polished games of great value.
Back in the 90s and early 2000s it was hard to believe how Blizzard was able to release masterpiece after masterpiece... times have changed now unfortunately

Yes Diablo 2 was such a fantastic game, the soundtracks were awesome.
It’s still in production cause it’s not finished 😂

@@sleepydragonzarinthal3533 even today Diablo 2 is a fantastic game.
I played that on my 3dfx banshee back in the late 90s
I think I even still have the card
Nice to see that even an RPG like Diablo 2 has Glide support.

@@JosephMelia a nice system for that period. Yeah I too played Diablo 2 again and again, a fantastic game.
With the LOD expansion, the resolution can be set to 800x600
I have to install LOD, 800x600 is much better than 640x480.
Boy you took me to the 2000s lol 😂
Hehe
Masterpiece 👍
One of the best games ever made in my opinion and it had Glide support :)
@@3dfxvoodoocards6 never try it with glide, i will do it😉
I used to play with voodoo2 sli back in the day, act 3 still really chugged. Cpu was probably a 233Mhz

I liked Diablo 1 too, a fantastic RPG for the year 1997. Diablo 2 was no less than a masterpiece and it also has glide support for Voodoo cards.
I remember that the minimal requirement was pentium 50 or 75hz.

For playing Diablo 2 in Software Mode it should be ok I guess.
Very cool
Thank you for your comment.
Diablo 2 🖥️🎮👍👍👍👍
Thank you!
Niceee, seems not to have aged anything (besides "low" resolution).
Yes the resolution is low but you get used to it very fast. Besides that it still is a fantastic RPG even for today’s standards.
