@@MassacresMansion For the hurry-up card, I think that you only need to count until a card is played. It still would be in the spirit of the original as card effects online were instant.
@@MassacresMansion I have no clue if this has anything new or if u did it but anime themed uno (separate from dragonball) I was searching for Naruto uno cuz I swear there was an uno for it and that's the only one that pops up
Why are you typing with thorn?? Has there been an update to english? Have I missed somothing? I felt as if I had a stroke when I read 'birp' What does that mean?
UNO: ends with a destroyed friendship Chemicards: ends with an FBI investigation because 10 people have been brutally mangled, after the second turn edit: they were not mangled by a player, but by a card effect
@@glumbortango7182 Which one of the Jumanjis, though? There's at least three (four if you include Zathura)... Personally, I'd prefer the _Welcome to the Jungle_ version, since it's the one where your "real life stats" don't actually matter (neither do they in _The Next Level,_ but that edition had all kinds of glitches)...
The thing about the morph suit strat is that if you’re the only one doing so, you will probably get targeted. Meanwhile, it would be super funny if just everyone was wearing a different color morph suit while playing specifically for that one card effect.
When I saw the Big Bang theory cat card I was thinking, “Oh, a card that makes you have to sing that soft kitty song or you’ll be made to pick up cards, how silly and fun!”, and then I was immediately disappointed that it wasn’t that at all
Yeah not only that but they even managed to fuck up the numbers, it makes you draw 0 3 5 or 9 but it should be 0 2 4 or 8 because "nerdy", literal off by 1 error and they werent even programming, hoe do you mess up this badly lol
I’ve solved the Hurry up issue. For it to be officially in the box, it just needs to have a code to the steam page of the eventual digital version of the Amalgam, where the effect will probably work better (maybe). There is no need for a digital timer, nor sand timer, it’s a gag, and it is in the box.
I have a question regarding this if this is indeed the way forward and the card does make it into the digital release: If a player plays a card but inevitably cannot resolve all the effects, do they just take the card back or would it remain out but nullified?
I initially thought the spongemock card from spongebob meme uno was gonna work like this: When played it acts as a regular wild card, but if its the last card in your hand and you get called out for not saying uno, then instead of drawing cards you are instead allowed to play the spongemock card and mock the player who called you out, "yOu DiDn'T sAy UnO"
My favorite parts of the Amalgam so far before this video premieres: - Every number 1-10 getting a Wild Draw card. - The customizable wild card pile - The wild that lets you give away a color to the other players unevenly - Color-exclusive cards - The overload - Wild numbers 50, 99, and 35 - The dice set - The wild that lets you attempt to roll the same number five times. - The wild skip - The modifier that lets you discard two at random - The food mechanics - Tournament and 2v2 modes - The wild that replicates the card under it
Oh I will be forcing my family, and then probably some of my friends, to go at it with me. Sounds like an absolutely wonderful game to play with either a group who likes to learn the rules beforehand together, or a group who wants to learn it along the way... Because learning it along the way will probably just be 90% laughing 9% distress, and 1% gameplay xD
Can't wait until he gets to the end, only to realize that he has now created a new version of Uno, and therefor must add it. One must imagine Sisyphus happy.
hear me out: Insane Monopoly - Pyramid Scheme, but in jail, you need to play that one Campaign for Africa or smth game, and every battle in that, you need to play a round of Chemicards (The Amalgam).
@@itsumikoroko That North African campaign strategy game can take multiple years to finish. I think just chemicards and insane monopoly together will already take a full week to finish.
@@itsumikorokoand some other trigger makes you play a game of Gloomhaven or Frosthaven and then from there cascades into you needing to complete an entire D&D/Pathfinder campaign.
@@thejunecooperative So let's workshop it. IM-PS but in jail you need to play CfNA, navigating in CfNA you play a DND/PF campaign, every DND/PF battle you play a round of Chemicards... maybe to decide who goes first in Chemi, you play a round of Massacards? But back to the top: IM-PS but navigation is done with the *same* DND/PF campaign, and if you die in DND/PF without being in jail, you then go to jail, to then start CfNA. Is this painful enough yet?
Imagine having the rules be rolled instead of folded so it's just one long scroll. The spectacle of someone looking through the rules would be awesome.
Just wanted to give a kudos for standing on your convictions on the timer shenanigans. You are 100% correct in all of your assertions as to why it wouldn't work in the amalgam. Don't let the people convince you otherwise.
I still think you could have the one who Played the Timer Card countdown when the affected Players turn comes. As for the variable way people count time, just make it so they have to say “Chemicards” after each number. “Three Chemicards! Two Chemicards! One Chemicards! Draw!” Still, I respect your decision and believe that you could create a Booster Deck for rejected card ideas if people don’t like your decisions.
I loved the part where every copy of Chemicards comes with a movie-grade camera and now every computer added in the last video also has Sony Vegas Pro installed on it and whenever someone plays the new ‘genre card’ the next person must roll the d20 and make a short film consisting of footage from the game of the corresponding genre and if the film doesn’t get at least an 8.3 on IMDB, then they must draw 5 cards. Bravo.
In 10 seconds I thought of a “Bazinga Card”, it would go like this: “When you would normally say Uno, say Bazinga instead, if you fail to say Bazinga draw 1 card as usual, but if you say Uno you draw 2 cards instead”
Illegal tip: Play naked and you will never be affected by the rad style card (definitely worthed for that single mechanic that happens one in a blue moon)
In this episode I miss explanations for what the cards did originally. It doesn’t change the end result of knowing what the equivalent card does in the Amalgam, but seeing how you have to adapt each mechanic from what it was originally is the biggest fun in this series for me.
@@MassacresMansion Yeah yeah I figured that, just there were some you changed slightly and still didn’t specify the exact difference Not complaining though the video is very much enjoyable, sorry this comes off as if I’m bitching about something minor lol
Any player plays mr. meseeks I play pic-a-nic targeting mr. meseeks On my turn I play mr. meseeks targeting pic-a-nic I then play pic-a-nic targeting mr. meseeks Having demonstrated infinity, I declare the game a draw
Here’s some versions of Uno I’ve found that haven’t been covered yet •Uno Special Edition Elvis Presley: It has 1 Vegas card of each color, which from what I could find, it makes the next player draw a card and reveal it, and then draw additional cards equal to the number on the revealed card(if the card is a symbol like skip or draw 2, it counts as 10). The effect may need to be nerfed since with numbers above 20 this could easily be an instant mercy rule for an unlucky player •Uno Legend of Zelda: Wild Triforce card with a CAM, where the next player has to play a card with a triforce symbol or draw 3. My suggestion would be to have it instead be that the next player must play a card with a modifier chosen by the person who played the card or draw 3. •Uno Emoji: Wild Emoji card, another CAM, from what I could find in the base game you get to discard a number card on top, and the next player has to make the face of the emoji on the card until their next turn. Easiest solution would probably be to either have the person who played the card choose or have each number correspond to a facial expression in the rule book. •Uno Royal/Royal Revenge: This one includes a BUG, of a kings scepter and jester hat, essentially how the game works is that a lot of the cards(like draw 2 and wild) give the king the choice as to who it targets, and other cards specifically target the jester. The king scepter also makes a noise every so often to have king move to the left and jester changes to whoever the king chooses. The scepter and jester hat can probably just be replaced by a card/token in front of the player that’s the king or jester, and the switch could happen on a sand timer or a modifier could be added on some cards to switch the king.
1.I suggested in the discord but might as well mention it here cause while we know nothing about it UNO is hyping a new game called UNO Fandom so Ill suggest it even before we know anything about it Edit:It's just branding for premium licensed UNOs exclusive to Mattel Creations instead of something actually cool 2.I think a Disney episode would get a ton put of the way cause there's a ton of Disney UNOs (you could even do ones based on the whole company (Marvel, Star Wars, Family Guy, The Peanuts Movie, etc.) not just the brand to have a little variety in the choices)
searching it up, it seems like "UNO Fandom" is going to be more of a label that other, more branded UNO games will fall under. the article I saw said it was going to include "one collectable foil card in every deck," so if Super Bowl LVIII UNO doesn't introduce anything else... ...uh, make the art card holographic, i guess?
UNO Seinfeld is a great find. Whoever designed the episode card deserves a raise. One small thing I thought about was reshuffling the discard pile(s) into a new deck. I assume that base UNO rules tell you to only do it if the deck runs out of cards. However, in most games of UNO I've played, someone chooses to shuffle the deck a bit before the deck runs out of cards so that other players can still play and keep the game going. Shuffling early doesn't really affect much in base UNO, but considering the addition of the Mr. Meeseeks card, doing this can massively screw over the person trying to play the card. All I'm suggesting is that if there isn't already a rule that players are only allowed to reshuffle the discard piles into a new deck when the current deck runs out, then there probably should be.
The concept of staring another player in the eyes while you take turns grunting angrily until one of you breaks made me cackle out loud. I hope it gets a name like "assert dominance" or something.
Unrelated to this specific video's topic but here's an idea: It might be cool to add some blank template player cards in the base game's character deck so people can add in their own characters to play if they so desire. Perhaps sell them individually as well, much like you would a character expansion pack. Kind of like D&D character sheets but in card form. If it were me, I would also specify a rule that says any unofficial characters must be approved by the dealer of a given round, but that is neither here nor there.
Among those listed in the clarifications, another reason that makes a sand timer just doesn't quite hold up is the simple fact that a sand timer does not instantly restart. If I start a sand timer for my turn, and then take 1 second to play a card, you then either have to wait an extra 2 seconds before flipping&starting the next player's turn, or flip it back over immediately, wait 1 second to send all the sand back, and then flip it AGAIN for real. Either way then that player basically has a longer than 3 second window to consider their cards which isn't true to the mechanic either.
I'll admit that I haven't watched further than the clarification time, but since it wasn't mentioned there I'll lift it again. Last video there was a "any random effect" card added. The solution to find which effect was suggested to be a combination of dice rolls. The way the dice roll rule was worded, converting any digit that's not possible to a 0, would make it so that the randomness is *very* skewed. If the skew is intended, that's OK, but it was not described as such. The solution is to reroll impossible digits-chains until a digit-chain that is possible is rolled. This would ensure true randomness. (Edit: it wouldn't. Actual solution is to reroll all digits) Note that the skewing will happen regardless of the actual amount of effects, unless we hit very specific numbers. Edit: This problem is quite complicated. See comments below for discussion.
@@LuneDeCuivre This is true with the rule as-is. Though I guess you're counting 0-99, and not 1-100, as otherwise we have skew again. If you mix in a modulus operation for when you roll a digit in the end of the range you could have any amount of rules, as long as all digit to roll is either one of 0, 1, or 5. Still counting from 0, of course. If you want you could bring in the other dice to "fix" the modulus, and thus increase the possible digits, but this "fix" is complicated already! But rerolling lets you have an arbitrary amount of rules and remain truly random.
@@vinculaomega5283there are 2 solutions to the count from 0 problem first index the rules list from 000 not 001 secons declare that 000 should be read as 1000 this works even if there are non power of 10 rules but dosent solve the separate issue of dead numbers or bias just that tis will not make any other solution worse
@@TheNeraum While true that the effect is less noticable the closer you get to 1000, it's still not a true random. Even worse, if you add even one more effect after 1000, the skew returns in force! Say 1001 effects: To hit the 1001th effect, you have to roll 1-x-x-1 on a d10, or 1/10*1/10 chance to get it (1/100). To hit the 1000th effect you have to roll 1-x-x-(not 1), or a 1/10*9/10 chance to get it (9/100). To hit any particular one of other of the 999 effects you need to roll (not 1)-x-x-x, or 9/10*1/10*1/10*1/10 chance to get any single specific one of those (9/10000) This means effect 1000 is 100 times more likely any one other effect in the range 0-999! And 9 times more likely effect 1001!
Regarding the cards that can benefit your opponent, there's a concept in free for all games called "politicing" where players can form temporary alliances for their mutual benefit to increase the chance of one of them winning, this can include stuff like agreeing to not target eachother with bad effects, teaming up against a player in a clear advatnage, protecting eachother, or helping eachother out when they can. What makes this interesting in the almagem is that because of non-partisan uno you can rule it that player can't discuss "politicing" or openly strategizing with eachother. This doesn't make politicing impossible but means players will have to try their best to ally with eachother without explicitly saying that's what their doing, using help cards is one way a player's intent to ally themselves or try to sneak their intentions into the conversation without being caught. This also makes it easier to get away with breaking or ignoring alliances by pretendinc you missed a players intent when you can't openly be called out for it
@@MassacresMansion This comes from the veto card previously covered in uno nonpartisan edition. Since the veto card only come up when you talk politics at the table I'm imaging the implications if we take the veto card to apply to table poltics as well as real world politics, which gives the veto card a bit more of a point.
A metronome rather than a normal timer would probably work better for the HU&W mechanic. Removes the need for human interaction, and simple enough to use via a pre-existing app. It would remove the problems of 1-3+5, though #4 obviously remains a problem. The app I have (Metronome Beats, for reference), even has a specific different chime every fourth beat.
there was a moomin themed uno that came out recently! the webstore states that it has a 'moomin-like rule', so it probably has a mechanic! note that when i tried to look up what this rule actually was, there also seems to be a Japanese version which i don't know if its a direct translation, or an older version, considering the moomin characters have existed since the 1940's

Uno Disney Princesses has a fun wild card: “Play the special 'Power of Friendship' wild card and 1 secret card, face down. The other players put 1 card down, trying to match the color of the secret card. On the count of 3, cards go face-up, and those who match the wild card holder get to discard their card.”
for the timed mechanic discussion, there technically is something similar in the base game, being the rule where you have to call uno when placing down your second to last card. the original intent of the card is a time crunch where you have that puts pressure on you to choose a card, not resolve the effects of the card, so the timer stops the instant the player puts down the card. that being said, there are still several solutions that could work. instead of a digital timer you can have an analog clock, the type that ticks each second thats static through the whole game and leave it to the players to keep track of how many seconds have gone by. if the costs on that still dont work out, then you can try doing something that feels more static to count the time, like how long it takes a player to draw a card. though all methods are prone to be flawed based on the human factor of human error and being able to prepare in advance for your turn, might as well abandon an actual timer altogether and instead have each player race with the next one in the turn order to place a card down
You have a point that all methods are prone to human error unless the involve a mechanical something or other. Unfortunately anything that would be larger than a digital timer would be much more expensive and not worth the cost.

The only way i can think to do the hurry up mechanic is to have everyone lay their cards “face down” (i know they’re double sided) and start a 3 second timer when they begin their turn (or have another player do it) to pick up and play. Once a card is played they immediately lie the cards face down again then go on to resolve effects. This doesnt solve the price issue of a digital timer but should solve most of the other problems.
based on the title it sounds like it's related to uno versions with tv crossover themes, i hope we dont need to make even more characters from tv shows.
I think a good houserule for the hurry up mechanic is for the entire table to start chanting 1-3 Mississippi while the game goes into a mode where symbols mean nothing, it practically becomes base uno where only the numbers and colors matter up until someone takes longer than 3 Mississippis. They will then draw the required amount and hurry up mode will be over. Normal play will continue from after the losing player
There is a game called 5 second rule which has a timer that has a timer similar to a sand timer but using plastic balls and it lasts for, you guessed it, 5 seconds. This is something that works like a sand timer but doesn’t last for ages like 1 - 2 minutes. You could get the manufacturers of that one to make one for you or figure out how to get one made yourself which lasts three seconds. The only problem would be that ‘cards with one or more effects will take longer than three seconds to resolve’ rule, but you could maybe make it so the timer is longer or goes off the second you play a card. These are all I got.
I love the idea that you have to agree on the effect of one single card out of hundreds, that very likely will not even come up, before the game begins.
I thought of some ways to get around some CAMs I know of - Uno emoji, this card let’s you discard a number card and then the next player has to hold the expression on the card until their next turn - South Park Uno, the Dead Kenny card let’s you force another player to draw until they get another card with Kenny on it (literally just the 4 number card and another dead Kenny card) a simple way for this is to draw until they get an orange card to represent Kenny’s jacket - Uno Peanuts Movie, this one’s Man’s Best Friend card let’s you discard 3 cards with Charlie Brown or Snoopy on it and then pick one other player as your “Best friend” who can discard 1 card with Charlie Brown or Snoopy, I would get around this by letting them discard any yellow or gray card to represent the character’s color schemes
One thing that i think would be cool, is the idea that since there is so many different modifications and wild cards and such, you could go through and make 100 card custom decks for say a "movement deck" where a lot of the cards thag yoy play make you do a dance or a movement of some sort, or you could make a brutal deck with the most extreme +10 every turn type of game.
For the timer you could do it in a more player interactive way, where when someone has a decision to make, everyone, but the player audibly counts down from three to zero and that player must have chosen an action by then, if a card forces them to make a new decision, the countdown rule applies there too, removes the need for a real timer and makes the pressure even higher, with multiple people chanting 3,2,1,0! I feel, that if it's all players counting down, it'll keep it from feeling unfair, since people will balance each other out. Additionally if the arrangement has someone read out a list of effects to choose from, before the countdown, the player has to have heard all the options once, and they should have corresponding numbers or letters or something, so you can quickly say "effect 3" for example
i think that instead of all players deciding beforehand (setup before a game is always the worse part) about what you roll a die to choose a player and that player chooses the effect so if it is the guy it is effecting or not would probably change the decision
New wild card idea: When this card is played you can put itself on another player's hand, they need to wait at least their turn to use it after you. This card can only be played when its NOT your turn. You can give this card to someone that wins by playing the last card on their hand, skipping their winning.
What if the timer was on an app and the phone was passed around at the end of each player's turn, with each person hitting the timer to signify the end of their turn? There could be other functions on the app, such as digitizing some of the trickier bugs, tracking points, etc. The way I'm imagining it is as follows 1. Player 1 plays the timer activation card, then sets timer for given time. 2. Player 1 starts timer as he hands it to the next player in turn order (Player 2) 3. Player 2 has three seconds to place his card on the pile, then hit the timer stop button. 4. Player 2 does whatever is on the card 5. Player 2 hits the button on the timer passing it to player 3. repeat. As for coding, it'd be relatively easy, to the point where you'd likely have little trouble finding someone willing to build it as an app on Scratch or the like really easily. As an example of how easy it is for even an amateur like me, It is currently 3:24PM EST on March 23, 2024. I'm going to reset my password, then start coding and will edit in the time it took to create a functional, if janky timer) If nothing else, it might be an interesting thing to include in the expansion, a way to digitize some of the functions and add some mechanics that require a timer, if the concern about time management is too much of a problem in the base game.
I did say that an app is not an option for this project in this video lol. Even if the timer were implemented in the way you described here, this still wouldn't be a fair mechanic, because the amount of time it takes for players to resolve effects is not standardized, which would result in some players getting minutes to think about their next move while others would get no time at all. There are several reasons why having someone else make an app for me would be morally and legally dubious, regardless of how easy it is to code something like what you're describing. Money is one issue, and I can't let anyone program it for free because that's borderline illegal. Especially if I know nothing about who's making it, like their age, because if someone underage were to make something for me it would be super illegal. Additionally I don't know the motives of someone who would be willing to do the work for free, because they could just as easily sue me once all is said and done. There's just too many hoops to jump through, so I'm not bothering with it if that makes sense.
This might have been brought up previously, but there is another line of Uno called Uno Jr, which adds in more simplified rules, but also adds in things like dancing and more physical activities. Would be an interesting look at to add to the amalgam
Possible time crunch mechanic: a sand timer that is 1 minute. The player who's turn it is when the timer runs out gets skipped and has to pick up 2. Essentially just a normal time bomb that isn't based on the length of the turn. The timer could also be longer or shorter, depending on how you feel it would be balanced
I can already see why the strategy for the card about the clothes in color works because when you play the card you're going to Target more people with the same color so what you can do is before you play give everybody some sort of friendship bracelet with every color on it so everyone has to draw cards
to be fair, the hurry up would most likely work if you increased the time, 3 seconds is for normal uno, which never has more than one modifier, and all you have to worry about is color and number, there being very few wildcards which are also instantly recognizeable a fair way would be that nobody can look at their cards before a card is played and its effects resolved, THEN you either start a timer with a delay (like a 5 second timer, that takes 2 seconds to activate, in order to allow the person setting the timer to properly pick up their cards in time) or normal untimed play I think this would actually be quite fair, since you can use the normal turns to decode your own cards and remember roughly what their effects are, but under the crunch you're still likely to make mistakes, and not knowing what your own cards do, when there's very few "hurry up" cards in the deck, is purely your own oversight/laziness something like 5 seconds for 100 cards, would probably be enough, while still being quite fast, >100 cards (or some other amount, idk) deserves a timer increase, because you'd have to spend noticeable time to even find valid cards to play in the first place and pick them out of your deck wihout fumbling it, not even considering how good/bad they are and the fact you must not look at your cards until the played card is resolved, means that there's no penalty for setting the timer, you have just as much time to look at your own cards as anyone else, and like other players, you can attempt to mentally remember your deck and pick a card, during the timer setting...since you really only need a single button on the timer, which wouldn't need any attention also, a single-button timer, or sand timer, also has the interesting feature that you can play fast, but you must also then wait out the timer (digital can have second press reset, I guess), and then be the next person to set the new timer, which in turn makes it extra fair, because EVERYONE will have to set the timer, so even IF it's unfair, then the unfairness rotates, balancing itself out
Idea for Hurry up card: when hurry up card is played next 3 people will play in a total time of 10-15 seconds and if they fail the person who took the longest time draws 2 cards others draw 1 card
I saw this video in my recommendeds yesterday, but didn’t have time to watch it. Today the first thing I did was snuggle up in my blanket and excitedly grab my iPad, ready to watch the newest amalgam video. Life is good
My only disappointment with this episode is learning that out of all the franchise milking they've done, Mattel has still not done a collab with Warner Brothers and made a Breaking Bad deck for Uno. I'm willing to bet my entire life savings that it'll sell like hotcakes in the first few months of it's release* *_*if they had the original cast do a marketing campaign with it lol_*
I feel like the simplest the simplest solution to the "hurry up" mechanic is that, for the effects duration, only numbers and primary effects (+2, +4, skips, wilds, anything vanilla basically,) count. no complex modifiers or the like. in terms of flavoring for the game itself it could be something along the lines of a 'neutralizing agent' that negates the effects of the chemicals and its dissipating quickly and in the frantic rush to take advantage of it, the characters are more prone to getting covered in chemicals if they don't think fast enough. it would make the concept of the mechanic actually feasible, and while some situations would still be impossible, it would swap the absurd chaos of the amalgam for a frantic chaos, if only for a bit. but hey, just my two cents.

You could argue by including both Uno Hanna Montana (2007)s, you’re having THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS?

I’ve solved the Hurry up issue. For it to be officially in the box, it just needs to have a code to the steam page of the eventual digital version of the Amalgam, where the effect will probably work better (maybe). There is no need for a digital timer, nor sand timer, it’s a gag, and it is in the box.
Incredible 😂
I like this man. Digital steam release go brrr
I have a question regarding this if this is indeed the way forward and the card does make it into the digital release:
If a player plays a card but inevitably cannot resolve all the effects, do they just take the card back or would it remain out but nullified?
I initially thought the spongemock card from spongebob meme uno was gonna work like this:
When played it acts as a regular wild card, but if its the last card in your hand and you get called out for not saying uno, then instead of drawing cards you are instead allowed to play the spongemock card and mock the player who called you out, "yOu DiDn'T sAy UnO"
That is SO much more fun.
Onto a wild it goes!
Sounds like a fun custom card idea!
If this was a card, this should be the flipped version of the regular wild card
My favorite parts of the Amalgam so far before this video premieres:
- Every number 1-10 getting a Wild Draw card.
- The customizable wild card pile
- The wild that lets you give away a color to the other players unevenly
- Color-exclusive cards
- The overload
- Wild numbers 50, 99, and 35
- The dice set
- The wild that lets you attempt to roll the same number five times.
- The wild skip
- The modifier that lets you discard two at random
- The food mechanics
- Tournament and 2v2 modes
- The wild that replicates the card under it
Awesome choices! I gotta agree!
I mean, the entirety of uno ultimate obviously
the roll thee same number 5 times card is this games, "Exodia the Forbidden One"
You forgot the Wild Experiment cards which are *RANDOM EFFECT CARDS!!*
Those ones sound absolutely insane in the context of the amalgam!

Oh I will be forcing my family, and then probably some of my friends, to go at it with me. So true 😔👌
Just wanted to give a kudos for standing on your convictions on the timer shenanigans. You are 100% correct in all of your assertions as to why it wouldn't work in the amalgam. Don't let the people convince you otherwise.
I appreciate that!
I still think you could have the one who Played the Timer Card countdown when the affected Players turn comes. As for the variable way people count time, just make it so they have to say “Chemicards” after each number. “Three Chemicards! Two Chemicards! One Chemicards! Draw!”
Still, I respect your decision and believe that you could create a Booster Deck for rejected card ideas if people don’t like your decisions.
The timer is stupid let's just stop talking about it
I loved the part where every copy of Chemicards comes with a movie-grade camera and now every computer added in the last video also has Sony Vegas Pro installed on it and whenever someone plays the new ‘genre card’ the next person must roll the d20 and make a short film consisting of footage from the game of the corresponding genre and if the film doesn’t get at least an 8.3 on IMDB, then they must draw 5 cards. Bravo.
Sounds expensive 😂

In 10 seconds I thought of a “Bazinga Card”, it would go like this: “When you would normally say Uno, say Bazinga instead, if you fail to say Bazinga draw 1 card as usual, but if you say Uno you draw 2 cards instead”
Nice 😂
Illegal tip: Play naked and you will never be affected by the rad style card (definitely worthed for that single mechanic that happens one in a blue moon)
Play this inside a nudist colony or resort and hope you get to see the smug look on their faces.
Actually, if someone's evil enough, they can analyze eye or skin color and pick a color close enough to it from there.
New rule, you must wear clothes 😂
Transparent clothes, not a color
Technically white contains every color at once, so white is just the cursed color to wear in this game
In this episode I miss explanations for what the cards did originally. It doesn’t change the end result of knowing what the equivalent card does in the Amalgam, but seeing how you have to adapt each mechanic from what it was originally is the biggest fun in this series for me.
Almost all of these cards function identically to how they do in their original version!

I then play pic-a-nic targeting mr. meseeks
Having demonstrated infinity, I declare the game a draw
Soft lock found 😂
Here’s some versions of Uno I’ve found that haven’t been covered yet
•Uno Special Edition Elvis Presley: It has 1 Vegas card of each color, which from what I could find, it makes the next player draw a card and reveal it, and then draw additional cards equal to the number on the revealed card(if the card is a symbol like skip or draw 2, it counts as 10). The effect may need to be nerfed since with numbers above 20 this could easily be an instant mercy rule for an unlucky player
•Uno Legend of Zelda: Wild Triforce card with a CAM, where the next player has to play a card with a triforce symbol or draw 3.
Noted! Thank you!
I think at some point the world just gonna end because of how many cards you’ve created
I possess too much power 😂
1.I suggested in the discord but might as well mention it here cause while we know nothing about it UNO is hyping a new game called UNO Fandom so Ill suggest it even before we know anything about it
Edit:It's just branding for premium licensed UNOs exclusive to Mattel Creations instead of something actually cool
2.I think a Disney episode would get a ton put of the way cause there's a ton of Disney UNOs (you could even do ones based on the whole company (Marvel, Star Wars, Family Guy, The Peanuts Movie, etc.) not just the brand to have a little variety in the choices)
This Would Also Be Good For The UA-cam Algorithm
"uno fandom".. that concept scares me. Fandoms can be terrifying and Uno based on them sounds like a lot
searching it up, it seems like "UNO Fandom" is going to be more of a label that other, more branded UNO games will fall under.

Absolutely!
There's a part of me that hopes this is eventually completed.
Then there's the other part of me that wants this to keep going.
I will complete this, but you’ll get to enjoy it for awhile yet!
The rule already exists don't worry!
_Just wait until I unleash this game upon my extended family..._

I appreciate your efforts!!
The concept of staring another player in the eyes while you take turns grunting angrily until one of you breaks made me cackle out loud. I hope it gets a name like "assert dominance" or something.
That’s an excellent idea 😂
Unrelated to this specific video's topic but here's an idea:
It might be cool to add some blank template player cards in the base game's character deck so people can add in their own characters to play if they so desire. Perhaps sell them individually as well, much like you would a character expansion pack. Kind of like D&D character sheets but in card form.
If it were me, I would also specify a rule that says any unofficial characters must be approved by the dealer of a given round, but that is neither here nor there.
That’s not a bad idea! If there’s enough demand I’ll consider it!

YES.
Don't forget UNO! for the Game Boy Color.
It adds the "Boomerang Card", as well as some other cards that I think are already implemented.
Noted!
Actual solution is to reroll all digits)
Note that the skewing will happen regardless of the actual amount of effects, unless we hit very specific numbers.
Edit: This problem is quite complicated. See comments below for discussion.
I agree with this comment. With d10s, youd need 10, 100, 1000, or 10000 rules
I mentioned this last video and Massacre said they estimate close to 1000 effects, which is pretty good, the closer it is the less skewed it'll be
@@TheNeraum While true that the effect is less noticable the closer you get to 1000, it's still not a true random.
Even worse, if you add even one more effect after 1000, the skew returns in force!
Say 1001 effects:
To hit the 1001th effect, you have to roll 1-x-x-1 on a d10, or 1/10*1/10 chance to get it (1/100).
To hit the 1000th effect you have to roll 1-x-x-(not 1), or a 1/10*9/10 chance to get it (9/100).
To hit any particular one of other of the 999 effects you need to roll (not 1)-x-x-x, or 9/10*1/10*1/10*1/10 chance to get any single specific one of those (9/10000)
This means effect 1000 is 100 times more likely any one other effect in the range 0-999!
This also makes it easier to get away with breaking or ignoring alliances by pretendinc you missed a players intent when you can't openly be called out for it
Is that official in any version?

Metronomes are much more expensive to manufacture though.

Im a tiny bit confused im assuming this epiaode is based around tv show themed uno i didnt even know that many existed
You’ll have to watch the video when it premieres to find out!
i found this series recently and i love the sort of thing where someone just talks for hours
amazing background noise but i find myself invested in this
I’m glad you’re enjoying the series! :)
Uno Disney Princesses has a fun wild card:
“Play the special 'Power of Friendship' wild card and 1 secret card, face down. The other players put 1 card down, trying to match the color of the secret card. On the count of 3, cards go face-up, and those who match the wild card holder get to discard their card.”
Noted!
for the timed mechanic discussion, there technically is something similar in the base game, being the rule where you have to call uno when placing down your second to last card. the original intent of the card is a time crunch where you have that puts pressure on you to choose a card, not resolve the effects of the card, so the timer stops the instant the player puts down the card. that being said, there are still several solutions that could work. instead of a digital timer you can have an analog clock, the type that ticks each second thats static through the whole game and leave it to the players to keep track of how many seconds have gone by. if the costs on that still dont work out, then you can try doing something that feels more static to count the time, like how long it takes a player to draw a card. though all methods are prone to be flawed based on the human factor of human error and being able to prepare in advance for your turn, might as well abandon an actual timer altogether and instead have each player race with the next one in the turn order to place a card down
You have a point that all methods are prone to human error unless the involve a mechanical something or other. Unfortunately anything that would be larger than a digital timer would be much more expensive and not worth the cost.
I was searching for funny uno versions to add to the amalgam but found a collection of puns instead honestly they aren't that bad We play a lot of games, but one game never gets mentioned We don't talk about Uno! Why are artists bad at Uno? Because they draw a lot! To my friend who I cheat at cards against: I'm sorry, but I think uno me well enough! My jokes in English aren't very funny, so here's one in Spanish Uno! The makers of the card game Uno have developed a sequel They're calling it Dos! Why can't fashion designers play uno? Because they always draw a cardigan Why can't pirates play UNO? They're always standing on the deck! I like to count in Spanish... if Uno what I mean! As well as being a card game, "Uno" is Spanish for "one" The more uno! Microsoft can't count… They came out with Microsoft DOS Without ever releasing Microsoft UNO! Dad: What are you playing? Son: Uno Dad: No I don't! Did you hear about the Spanish magician who disappeared? Uno, dos, and POOF he was gone without a tres! Here's another one in Spanish... Uno! Why don't footballers play Uno? Because they don't like to get red cards! What's John Lennon's favorite card game? Yoko Uno! Why don't crocodiles play Uno? They prefer snap! You know the card game UNO? It's the number one game! I hate playing Uno! It's so one-sided! I saw a list of the top ten card games... Uno is number 1! Where do you get a degree in card games? Unoversity!
Incredible 😂
If you ever get to adding Unocorns i need the phrase "swaggitude" added to the Chemicards rules because reading it in the Unocorns rules make me take 1d8 psychic damage irl
Absolutely noted 😂
I actually feel Mr Massacre should put a limit on the newest version of Uno, and olny after all the older ones are done, add the newer ones.
My plan is to catch up with Mattel’s releases, then produce Chemicards, and then any future additions could be made into expansion packs!
@@MassacresMansion but if you keep adding newer ones, you'll never get to the older, discontinued ones.
@@appleyboi13 the majority of the versions I’ve added are old and discontinued 😂
@@MassacresMansion also at the rate you're going you'll probably be done before there's more than 20 new versions
@@Quartzer. Catching up is possible, since Luke covers versions far faster than Mattel releases them. Seeing as Mattel can't double the amount of versions they've released since the first video by the time they're over, covering every single UNO edition plus cameos is definitely possible (even if tedious).
The amalgam must grow
😈
19:40 actually you know what I think you should make up a Bazinga card anyways. Don't even reflavour it to Chemicards. Just Bazinga.
Sounds hilarious 😂
I don’t know why, but I find it amazing how they manage “Uno-U-no-mi” as wordplay on the Japanese names of the Devil Fruit.
It is indeed very clever 😂
New episode, new theme 😎
Oh yes 😎

This is going to have more mechanics than Magic the Gathering.
Probably not? But I don’t know how many mechanics MTG has so I guess I don’t know. 😂

Might be difficult considering his lack of skin 😂😂😂
@@MassacresMansionI also recommend the uno burger king desafio games(there's a lot of them). They are in Portuguese and I could on find one video on the ruleset and it's in Portuguese as well.
It wouldn’t solve point 2 ):
@@MassacresMansion Since the timer only starts on the players turn when they're ready i don't see how managing the timer would be unfair.
based on the title it sounds like it's related to uno versions with tv crossover themes, i hope we dont need to make even more characters from tv shows.
:)
This is getting put on one of my custom wilds
Custom wild material!
when you do the arby’s get wild version of uno, will you add the sticker sheet that you use to make the customizable wild cards?
Who knows!
I’ll try and send a video

Sadly not

You’re quite welcome 😎
Hoping for Star Trek in this one!
There’s a chance!
Hmm, guess I'll have to look forward another "TV shows" episode.
Great job, as always!
I love the idea that you have to agree on the effect of one single card out of hundreds, that very likely will not even come up, before the game begins.
Me too 😂
not gonna lie i think the dragon ball z uno is happening
👀
Awesome stuff! Noted!
Nice
Heck yeah!
That sounds cool!
I went over why verbally counting would not work in this video lol.
@@MassacresMansion ye, i wrote the first part right before that, rest after as an addition
You don't need a timer to count to three
You do if you want a fair mechanic 😂
You should add the Uno Amalgam!
Good idea!
i think that instead of all players deciding beforehand (setup before a game is always the worse part) about what you roll a die to choose a player and that player chooses the effect so if it is the guy it is effecting or not would probably change the decision
I would do this if it wasn’t less accurate to the original mechanic lol.
Hi
Hello!
@@MassacresMansion hi im live in germeny you know when it will start today
I meen tomorow 😅
The Sharkweek one pairing so wonderfully awfully with the card pile balance mechanic is incredible!
Indeed!
New wild card idea:
When this card is played you can put itself on another player's hand, they need to wait at least their turn to use it after you.
This card can only be played when its NOT your turn.
You can give this card to someone that wins by playing the last card on their hand, skipping their winning.
Neat!
What if the timer was on an app and the phone was passed around at the end of each player's turn, with each person hitting the timer to signify the end of their turn? There could be other functions on the app, such as digitizing some of the trickier bugs, tracking points, etc.
The way I'm imagining it is as follows
1. Player 1 plays the timer activation card, then sets timer for given time.
2. Player 1 starts timer as he hands it to the next player in turn order (Player 2)
3. Player 2 has three seconds to place his card on the pile, then hit the timer stop button.
4. Player 2 does whatever is on the card
I'm going to reset my password, then start coding and will edit in the time it took to create a functional, if janky timer)
If nothing else, it might be an interesting thing to include in the expansion, a way to digitize some of the functions and add some mechanics that require a timer, if the concern about time management is too much of a problem in the base game.
The need to slap a discard pile also pairs well with the tippo mechanics. Makes it likely you could knock over a pile.
Exactly!
It would be cool if you added the UNO emoji edition. 😁
Noted!
This might have been brought up previously, but there is another line of Uno called Uno Jr, which adds in more simplified rules, but also adds in things like dancing and more physical activities. Would be an interesting look at to add to the amalgam
Noted!!
130 versions of Uno is so many already, and we don't even have half the versions yet. Speaking of, Uno Space Jam: A New Legacy?
Noted!!!
If there’s a mechanic like that in another version I’ll add it!
I can already see why the strategy for the card about the clothes in color works because when you play the card you're going to Target more people with the same color so what you can do is before you play give everybody some sort of friendship bracelet with every color on it so everyone has to draw cards
That is so evil and I love it.
to be fair, the hurry up would most likely work if you increased the time, 3 seconds is for normal uno, which never has more than one modifier, and all you have to worry about is color and number, there being very few wildcards which are also instantly recognizeable
a fair way would be that nobody can look at their cards before a card is played and its effects resolved, THEN you either start a timer with a delay (like a 5 second timer, that takes 2 seconds to activate, in order to allow the person setting the timer to properly pick up their cards in time) or normal untimed play
I think this would actually be quite fair, since you can use the normal turns to decode your own cards and remember roughly what their effects are, but under the crunch you're still likely to make mistakes, and not knowing what your own cards do, when there's very few "hurry up" cards in the deck, is purely your own oversight/laziness
something like 5 seconds for 100 cards, would probably be enough, while still being quite fast, >100 cards (or some other amount, idk) deserves a timer increase, because you'd have to spend noticeable time to even find valid cards to play in the first place and pick them out of your deck wihout fumbling it, not even considering how good/bad they are
and the fact you must not look at your cards until the played card is resolved, means that there's no penalty for setting the timer, you have just as much time to look at your own cards as anyone else, and like other players, you can attempt to mentally remember your deck and pick a card, during the timer setting...since you really only need a single button on the timer, which wouldn't need any attention
also, a single-button timer, or sand timer, also has the interesting feature that you can play fast, but you must also then wait out the timer (digital can have second press reset, I guess), and then be the next person to set the new timer, which in turn makes it extra fair, because EVERYONE will have to set the timer, so even IF it's unfair, then the unfairness rotates, balancing itself out
there are plenty of valid counterpoints raised too, of course, lol, I'm sure you won't think it's "fair enough" anyway, still SEEMS fair enough to me
If only such a specific timer existed and was cheaply manufacturable XD
Idea for Hurry up card: when hurry up card is played next 3 people will play in a total time of 10-15 seconds and if they fail the person who took the longest time draws 2 cards others draw 1 card
This solution does not address points 2, 4, or 5.
I saw this video in my recommendeds yesterday, but didn’t have time to watch it. Today the first thing I did was snuggle up in my blanket and excitedly grab my iPad, ready to watch the newest amalgam video. Life is good
I appreciate that! Thank you for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed!
My only disappointment with this episode is learning that out of all the franchise milking they've done, Mattel has still not done a collab with Warner Brothers and made a Breaking Bad deck for Uno. I'm willing to bet my entire life savings that it'll sell like hotcakes in the first few months of it's release*
*_*if they had the original cast do a marketing campaign with it lol_*
Good luck with that 😂
16:23 It's the "best of both worlds" in card deck form.
:0
Ok so wow i was not expect 30 editions! I can't wait for the next episode, one day this will become a reality.
Thank you! And yes it will!!
Unfortunately that solution doesn't address point 2 or 4. ):
When hurry up card used: every counts in their head down from 3.
Sounds broken 😂
