I want to buy the finished product, just so I can have it's unopened box for all eternity, so that whenever someone asks what it is I can tell them that it's a game that so far every single person I have asked has refused to play with me.
But if the Uno amalgam has an Uno amalgam in it, then the one you add will also have an Uno amalgam in it, leading to an infinite number of cards, which would be really funny, but also incredibly hard to make
@@MassacresMansion House Rule: Players cannot look at the rulebook while the game is being played. Players can challenge other players if they think a rule is broken. If the challenge is successful, the challenged player draws 2. If unsuccessfull, the challenger draws 2.
Wait... I just found out about a weird triple synergy, slapping the same table as where the discard piles are will probably tip over at least one of them, with the added slipperiness of the waterproof cards... Who gets the penalty though, the one who wins the table slap?
@@deleted-somethingits uno with more brutal cards and rule changes intended to torture your opponents more. Example: +10&6 wild cards, skip all players, draw 4 cards, reverse +4 and wild colored roulette which forces you to draw for the said color while showing all the cards face up (wild cards don't stop the drawing) and some rule changes made mandatory to make it possibly more insufferable with some common known house rules or if you know uno online some rules you can turn on like drawing until you can place a card, no challenging +4 wild cards, 0-7 hand switches and more and the most unique rule: if you have more than 25 cards your out(can't play anymore)
I was at the board game store the other day and they had a display JUST for Uno variants and I pointed it out to my friend like "more to add to the amalgam" and they had no idea what i was talking about There was Barbie Uno
I feel like an off brand name for the “Creeperific Urrgh” card would be the “Infection” Card You infect players with one chosen color from your deck, and the simple name helps you remember that you have to act like a zombie while you do so
A nice benefit to using plastic cards is that the “write on this card” cards can be written on with a whiteboard marker or wet erase marker so you can change up rules/dares a lot easier between games.
As an avid card game player, it's never good enough. After 3 games, you'll get stains. Get clear sleeves and write on those. Bonus: they would still work with the flipped sides.
I would like to request the Mickey Mouse and friends Uno version. It has a "friendship" card that lets multiple people win at once! But most of the time you win solo because it is stupid powerful XD
Suggestion: You could hypothetically do a "speed round" episode dedicated to a bunch of versions of the game that already have implemented features or add like a single rule.
I found some more Uno versions you could add. First is unocorns (unicorn Uno) which adds narwhal wilds, where all players must hold a card above their head, and have to guess the color to discard it. If they fail they keep the card above their head. Second is toy story 1 Uno which adds the claw wilds. When this is played, the next player must draw till they get a 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 card. They also lose their turn. Finally is Texas Uno, which adds the wild last stand card. This card can be played at any time to swap hands with a player with only one card left. You then chose the color and play resumes from whoever was playing before the card was played. That last one could cause some major shenanigans in the endgame.
Would love to see the Wild Last Stand card have a big ol' State of Texas outline and people just have to remember that Texas = swap with someone who'd win
This has now become a race between Mattel and you to see who can get their games out. Mattel creating more rules and you trying to implement them into the amalgam.
The stacking rule is actually more restricted: You can only play draw card on top of another if it has an equal or higher value (still should be fun with the targeted draws) If we still add unrelated games with Uno in its name, then I would like to add Uno Rummy-Up
The only thing I’d like to add is that when the amalgam is finished(which I know may be a long while), that the box it comes in is a lot sturdier than regular uno, and also has the cards and dice sorted out nicely, because the amalgam is so large doing so will allow players to easily familiar use with the cards and modify anything about the gameplay they don’t want to use without needing all the hassle. I realised halfway through writing this that I forgot the original idea…
One thing you should definitely do for the physical version of the game is have one list for each of the maximum amount of players that describes the meaning of every symbol.
I am genuinely so excited for the uno amalgam physical copy my friends are sick of me talking about this series. Im worried ill run out of friends before it releases
You might want to include a stand or the 3d print files for one for someone to put their cards on while they check the rule book while also checking their cards
@@cendronhawk977 I actually think it would be pretty useful, and it doesn't need to be too big But if it isn't included at least having the 3d print files out there might be nice. Since I'm pretty sure there are a ton of places (including ups I've heard) which offer to 3d print things for you
also I just need to say, that as a uno fan and a natural collector of things, I love this series just for the bare minimum excuse that I get to watch a series of videos that talks about all of the different forms of uno that has been made up to this point in time (or at least 99% of all uno versions)
@@Aaa-vp6ug to be fair we won't actually know till the project is over. I only said that as a random number since he's said multiple times that "not everything as a whole will be included just as many unique mechanics as I can fit in" more or less
I love how your first example for a dare was "Drink some water". You gotta make sure your friends are properly hydrated! At this point I'm just surprised at how many versions of Uno there are, can't wait to see how the amalgam will continue to grow!
I can't quite remember if it has been added yet but: Princess Uno has a curse card. Choose a color, every other player must draw and reveal cards until they draw a card of the indicated color.
Here's some I was able to find; Uno Braille: just as the name implies. No idea how feasible this is both from a manufacturing POV of your supplier, but also with all the new symbols. Even with just base Uno, they needed to add a Braille reference card. Uno Colors Rule: Absolute hell. Adds 4 color tokens which give the player special benefits. Red allows the player to give away all their red cards to any player at any time. Blue allows the player to play two cards on their turns. etc. Players get these tokens when they play the appropriate wild card and they are so insanely busted. Uno Power Grab: Did you think Uno Colors Rule was wack? Uno Power Grab includes 4 "power towers" that give you protection against a type of action card (draw 1, draw 2, skip, wild draw 4), and has special symbols allows you to take control of the tower. Also, if a player somehow manages to acquire all four towers of power, they immediately discard all but one of their cards. Uno Dominos: Remember how Uno Stacko was just Jenga with Uno Mechanics? You can probably guess what this is. Uno Wild Tiles: I don't even know where to begin with this thing. The cards are replaced with tiles and there's a scrabble style board that added benefits such as "go again" or "trade your hand with a player of choice", and all the tiles now have an arrow, so you point them in a direction on the board and the next player has to place their tile there. Uno Roboto: Maybe the dumbest looking BUG yet? So imagine Uno Dare, but instead of just one player doing the dare, all players had to and the last player to do so had draw 2 cards. Now also add in that the BUG will just randomly issue these challenges. So all the players will constantly be on edge that this robot will issue a reaction minigame. Uno Bingo: This just screams another "here's a completely different game, but with Uno theming, pls buy?" players roll dice and these dice will tell you which color/number combination you can cross out, it's literally just bingo, but with Uno theming I hate it. Uno Blast: Another BUG that describes itself as "one of the most fun versions of Uno, along with Uno Attack". This is essentially Russian Roulette as far as I can tell. Whenever a "Wild Blast" card is played, the next player adds cards from the draw pile into the Blaster, and at any point the blaster will shoot the cards in the air, making you draw them, with 5 being the max as it'll always blast you on the fifth. There's also a new and very powerful "discard color" card. Uno Madness: The obvious and not at all reaching combination of Uno and Perfection. This BUG is really funny wince Mattel didn't even have the legal rights to perfection, but took it anyways. This is kind of like Uno Wild Tiles in that cards are replaced with tiles you play on a board. The really only different between this and normal UNO is that you're playing on a Perfection board, so there's now time and speed mechanics. Which might be cool to see added for tension. The one thing I really like about this version is that there's a rule that states that suggesting any course of action to a player results in you having to draw 4 tiles (or cards in our case) and I think that's really funny. Uno Master: Just Uno, but with a time mechanic that apparently needed a BUG to be represented. Players pick a time limit (8, 6, or 4 seconds) and failure to finish your turn in this time forces you to draw 4 cards. Uno Royal Revenge: Adds two hats (crown and jester) and a royal scepter (BUG). The player with the crown is king and gets the scepter. Occasionally, the scepter will light up, demanding they give the crown to the next player, who then also picks a new jester. various special cards will benefits to whoever theking is and detriments to whoever the jester is. UNO Rummy-Up: Another example of "We at mattel have a failing product, maybe people will buy it if we add Uno mechanics or just Uno theming". This time it's the very well known and popular game "Rummikub". Uno Tiki Twist: adds a questionable little flat figure and gives every cards tiki theming. A tiki card is like a wild card in that its any color you want, but when you play a tiki card, spin the tiki figurine and whoever its bug dumb finger points to takes the action. The actions are pretty standard, except for the insane "discard all" tiki card, which is total bullshit and just ends the game??? Finally and I'm sure you're aware of this: there's Unovariations.com, which catelouges all versions of Uno to exist including unique cards and mechanics. Here's some fun ones: Cobs Uno Game Changers: Not a full Uno Game, but instead 13 unique promotional cards such as "Wild Draw 8", "See the Future", and "Exclusive Popcorn". Uno Burger King: Has its own "Challenge Card" with a punishment of draw 5. Uno Encanto: Has a unique "Don't Talk" Wild card that allows you to curse another player with silence (barring them calling Uno) until any other player declares Uno. breaking this silence results in 3 drawn cards. Uno Star Wars Technical Schematics: Has a "One in a Million" card where you select a color and the next player picks a card in their hand of the color and, with eyes closed, must toss the card at the discard pile. If they do not have the color or if the card doesn't land on top of the pile, they must draw 3 cards.
I've been making something similar with chess. I call it chesscapades, it's chess, but there are random variant rules applied, (examples include: atomic chess, Riffle chess, The touch move rule, gravity, all pieces look the same, when you move a pice it has a small chance to switch teams.) secretly, the game just runs them for you. you have to figure out the rules as you play.
Obviously you said you wouldn't be including house rules or anything of the sort, but i still feel like mentioning the funniest UNO house rule i've ever played with. When any player plays a 7, the table needs to shut up and not make a noise until another 7 is played. if you say anything, you draw 2. Funniest result from this came when a player had to take a phone call. they never recovered from that. That is all, i wanted to pretend to contribute.
in the instruction manual, for every symbol, there should be "from uno [x]" (x being the uno version the mechanic is from) just so everyone knows what you threw in there >w
@@MassacresMansion Wikipedia style citations in the manual would look pretty good. Afterall, it would be pretty distracting to read where it is from while you're trying to understand the rules.
@@MassacresMansionmaybe as a separate page though? Having "from x game" spread throughout the rules page kinda muddies things. But it would be great to know where all this weird stuff comes from if someone asks mid game!
I like the idea of having it fully readable, in the same place as the mechanics - so when players are inevitably forced to look up a rule they can get a laugh from seeing "Uno Monster High" or whatever version it is that is fucking over one of the players.
There’s no doubt in my mind that “Monster High: Uno” was suggested purely as a joke, which makes its inclusion and your genuine joy when describing what it adds that much funnier.
I once did something similar, just not to the insane scale in this series. I combined a normal set of uno with the Orange and Purple colours from Uno Nonpartisan, and I added all the special wild variations from Uno All Wild. The game was already crazy even with just 3 versions, I can’t wait to see the sheer insanity of the amalgam.
Mattel: "Hey! You know how our game is really popular because it destroys friendships? What if it was ten times worse?" This is how I imagine they conceptualized Show 'em no mercy.
Hey, if you do end up making an unofficial uno expansion, I have a name suggestion. Amalgam: Community Edition. And if you do end up making it you should add Uno infinity, a tabletop simulator mod for Uno. I’m pretty sure someone already mentioned it but it has cool things like a ÷2 and joker card.
Bro, I was not ready for the Acceleracers reference at the beginning, I did an IRL double-take while watching the premiere. Welp, time to rewatch the video to see what I missed and imagine how -bad- -awful- fun it would be to play it.
This has become easily one of my favorite UA-cam series! Just imagining trying to play this makes my head hurt, and I can't wait to descend into irrevocable insanity after a single round of this Lovecraftian horror
The mercy rule is awesome, but it might just destroy the flow of the game at 25 cards, especially in tandem with the “draw until you can play” rule the extra colors. It should definitely be set way higher, at like 50
If you’re adding the dares from Uno Dare, you could add the ones from Uno Dare Adults Only as like a mini expansion booster pack, where the base game is entirely family friendly, but Adults Only can still be optionally incorporated
man, i can't wait for this to be done, not only to play it on Tabletop Simulator (because i doubt i will buy it) but because im 98% sure Valefisk has to play it, because it really sounds like this will be chaotic and long.
You inspired me to make my own uno version which just combines three different uno games (uno flip, uno flex, and uno power grab). also maybe uno colors rule next, with four more towers?
@@ryanmapping7944 I’m not sure if uno moo has any unique mechanics though. The skunk is functionally identical to a draw two, the farmers is functionally identical to a wild, and the farm is essentially one giant B.U.G. The only thing I can really think of is a white wild card, where you can play any color on top instead of just the four usually depicted.
Since you're using the lefthand number placement, you could always have the symbols in the middle and the modifier in the standard number location, keeping the center clutter free
it's getting really intense now! idea: if the cards are going to be produced on transparent plastic, it could also be a good idea to make one side of the cards left handed and the other side right handed, so that the designs on either side line up nicely!
All we need now is for you and Mattel to partner up and maybe even add in the final version some at the time unreleased rules that later will appear in future solo editions.
I'm so exited for the chaos! when I watched triple s games video on how to play Uno no mercy I was like this would be amazing to add to the amalgamation!
I love that you included the flavour text of the creeperific urrrhhh card, It's so unnecessary, but they really wanted you to know the lore of this card.
The More that's added, the more there's onto this Psychopathic Pizza the more i want of it. i am getting more and more invested in this maniacal Madness.
Glorius. Truly glorius. Keep up the good work! Sidenote, I do feel like 25 cards may be a bit low for the "mercy rule" and make games a tad short. Then again that sounds super fixable if your group just decides they want to use a different number...
Can’t wait for the version of this including the MOABUG - an amalgam of every BUG that’s been included in a UNO game. I could theorycraft how you’d actually build it here but UA-cam comments are maybe the worst possible venue for that.
Can't wait for this! Im writing this beforehand, and honestly I'm excited to see what Uno No Mercy will throw into the Uno Amalgam mix. Im especially interested if (and if so how) you would implement the elimination aspect into the game. (Also I don't know if its because of Daylight Savings time, but I get to enjoy this at 23:00 instead of midnight so yay :3)
i love this series so much, one version that id love to see added is confusingly also called uno flip, ive found that googling the term "uno flip uno guy" found it to appear. the mecanic is a bug that has you launching a little dude onto a target and if you hit it you give a card away to another player.
"im not saying none of you watching are dogs..." thank you for the recognition it is so rare to be seen like this. it is tough being a dog that watches youtube, i have to bark into a speech to text and hope it knows what i am saying
I wish I had a version of uno to add to this but I'm really happy to see how this is going. Can't wait to tear apart my familial and friendship bonds apart with this game
Amazing additions! I do like your solution to the "multiple symbols on same number" issue that I was worried about. Quantumly both scared and excited for uno amalgam now that I know about the no-mercy rules. I am scared that the rules will get long tho
I have already made my own amalgam with my own UNO collection. But having this would make things way easier. By not having to unshuffle cards when I want to play specific versions again
2 Weird ones: Uno Pizza Pizza and Uno Pizza 73 from a weird pizza place Uno tie in here in Canada a few years back, Uno Pizza Pizza has one Wild with a unique rule (draw a card and give one to the next player) and a wild card with a coupon, not sure you can add that. Pizza 73 Uno is way harder to find info on, but I can't tell if the card that says "Pick up 73" is a joke or a real card that came with the deck, but I really want to believe because a card that lets you instantly out another player and another number between 50 and 99 for wars just sounds too funny.
It W H A T ? Ok, after some digging, the most I've found is a promotional video on the pizza73 facebook page showing a digital render of a pickup 73 card, with no rules clarifications, or evidence it physically exists... Even then, given that the "uno pocket" deck it comes in only even has 52 cards, I'm guessing it's more of a "go buy pizza from our brand" card rather than a +73 draw card... still hilarious tho. Edit: Kept digging, and can confirm it's fake! Actual deck has 3 other unique wilds, none of which are +73. Truly a crying shame Q_Q
Okay I’ve been here since episode 2 came out, but I am officially hyped to purchase this once it’s available. This is the kind of torture I want to submit my friends and family to
For the draw pile of Customizable Wild Cards, are they really wild cards if the gimmick with them is to draw them, do the effect, and then simply put them back down on the bottom of the pile? I'm thinking it doesn't really make sense to give them the wild symbol if they aren't able to be played as normal wild cards via some rule by the end of the Amalgam.
This would ultimately depend on the cards' final look but i just wanted to point ot that technically +6 and +10 wild cards could fit more than 4 colors in a single card. I'm loving the series btw, it's a joy to listen to.
The monster high rule addition is diabolical. The sheer indignity of another player deliberately and specifically screwing you over while play acting as a zombie is so much psychic damage that it’ll permanently taint any friendship.
The uno version I am going to suggest is strange. Uno dice... in a can. It's different from the uno dice you covered in this video and it plays like uno but now it's dice and not just random rolling
Very fun video once again! I've been looking around at the variations for a while and boy howdy are there some strange ones out there. I'd like to rattle off a few that caught my eye, it's not like you can stop me anyways: - The Secret Recipe Wild Card from Spongebob Uno Look at a players hand, and then you get to change the color (Devious) - The Touchdown Wild Card from Super Bowl LVII Uno When played, signals a touchdown like a referee, last person to do so draws 3 - The Hyperspeed Wild Card from Lightyear Uno, You choose a color, and every time that color is played, the next player is skipped, this goes until someone plays a different color card
I feel like it's worth noting that the Monster High 'wild Creeperific Urrghh' exists elsewhere, notably in Uno Mod where it adds the same card/mechanic without any flavor
Are you planning on increasing the 25 card mercy rule to a higher number? With how many cards and how complex this game is, it seems like most games would quickly end in rapid player elimination, preventing most of the card specific funny gimmicks from playing out in a real game. Also uno games that never end with constant back and forth are the most fun imo, which is made even more chaotic and longer with all the added rules.
The moment I saw this series I was like, "Wouldn't it be fun if they included No Mercy". And you did, you madlad! I want that deckset now more than ever.
I’ve been enjoying this series a lot, and was wondering if you’d bother with ONO 99 given its tenuous connection to base UNO. However, there is an interesting mechanic from it which you might consider (or have already decided against adding) - that the reverse card can be used to reflect a “play 2” card. I think it would be funny to have the reverse cards act like this against certain cards, such as just +2 cards, so as not to make the Superstar wild and the like from earlier less special. Keep up the great work!
Like the yellow power card is a less powerful invisibility which just makes you unaffected by all card types, and reverses can act like weaker superstars
Just an idea. When made into a physical game. Include multiple “instructions” or a QR code ppl can scan on phone. If u go QR route. I suggest leaving one physical instruction incase ppl don’t have wifi and can play during blackouts. (: Many long papers could up cost so I understand if you don’t. And I’m sure you already thought of this. But thought I’d share (:
The Monster High Zombie card reminds me of another Uno brand collab. Might be hard to find, since they've made a couple different versions of this brand already. But a few years ago I played an Uno Batman deck that had a "Joker's 3" card. It was a wild card that, when played, allowed you to give 3 of any of your cards to any player you want. Obviously, 3 is much less than "all cards of a color", but being able to get rid of unfavorable modifiers seems fun, and you have more control over who gets what since you're not going in a clockwise direction. As always, keep up the amazing work!
@@MassacresMansion Of course. I love the accidental synergies that are starting to prop up as more pieces fit in the puzzle. Like the water proof tippo, or the monster high discard and 25 card elimination. This thing is still insanely chaotic, but I wasn't expecting emergent gameplay to come out of it.
I grew up playing Uno Disney Princess (2004). It had a dragon card that could be played on anything. The dragon remained in play until someone killed it which you could only do with a prince card (all 0s and 5s). The dragon was also 100 points if in your hand at the end of the game. Combined with the no mercy rules you added having to draw until you get one of those would be brutal.
What happens when you only have 2 players when the Show-down card is played? Not having a 3rd player or person makes this rather problematic, though this is not really meant to be played with less then 4 people I imagine. Excited for the completion of this project and hoping someone will make an proper self-contained online version of this someday.

Suggestion: You could hypothetically do a "speed round" episode dedicated to a bunch of versions of the game that already have implemented features or add like a single rule.
You read my mind 😂
uno amalgam: ⚡LIGHTNING ROUND!⚡
😈
Would love to see the Wild Last Stand card have a big ol' State of Texas outline and people just have to remember that Texas = swap with someone who'd win
@@Ghiaman1334Texas Lose 'Em
This has now become a race between Mattel and you to see who can get their games out. Mattel creating more rules and you trying to implement them into the amalgam.
Well considering I’m adding ten of their versions every two weeks, I’ll catch up in no time. 😂
The stacking rule is actually more restricted:
You can only play draw card on top of another if it has an equal or higher value (still should be fun with the targeted draws)
If we still add unrelated games with Uno in its name, then I would like to add Uno Rummy-Up
😈
That's totally related!
Good idea!

Another way to enjoy the series! 😎
More like 70 to 90 percent. But damn.
@@Aaa-vp6ug to be fair we won't actually know till the project is over. I only said that as a random number since he's said multiple times that "not everything as a whole will be included just as many unique mechanics as I can fit in" more or less

At this point I'm just surprised at how many versions of Uno there are, can't wait to see how the amalgam will continue to grow!
Thank you so much! Also yes, hydration is crucial
I can't quite remember if it has been added yet but:
Princess Uno has a curse card. Choose a color, every other player must draw and reveal cards until they draw a card of the indicated color.
😈
Here's some I was able to find;
Uno Braille: just as the name implies.
Here's some fun ones:
Cobs Uno Game Changers: Not a full Uno Game, but instead 13 unique promotional cards such as "Wild Draw 8", "See the Future", and "Exclusive Popcorn".
All noted!
That sounds awesome!
It seems that a game with the name "Chesscapades" existed at one point, but was wiped from the internet.
what is "The touch move rule"
Obviously you said you wouldn't be including house rules or anything of the sort, but i still feel like mentioning the funniest UNO house rule i've ever played with. When any player plays a 7, the table needs to shut up and not make a noise until another 7 is played. if you say anything, you draw 2.
Funniest result from this came when a player had to take a phone call. they never recovered from that.
That is all, i wanted to pretend to contribute.
That sounds like a fun rule! You should definitely house rule that one in!

For the draw pile of Customizable Wild Cards, are they really wild cards if the gimmick with them is to draw them, do the effect, and then simply put them back down on the bottom of the pile? Are you planning on increasing the 25 card mercy rule to a higher number? With how many cards and how complex this game is, it seems like most games would quickly end in rapid player elimination, preventing most of the card specific funny gimmicks from playing out in a real game. Also uno games that never end with constant back and forth are the most fun imo, which is made even more chaotic and longer with all the added rules.
We’ll see.

Thank you! And cool suggestion!
Many long papers could up cost so I understand if you don’t. And I’m sure you already thought of this. But thought I’d share (:
Cool ideas!
Noted. 😈
And thank you!
