Gloria correctly prioritized keeping her grandchildren alive over avoiding hurting her daughter's feelings.
She acted like the parents were the missing stairs. Unfortunately this happens often.
This grandma is gorgeous!!! 🥰
I am not convinced that she has feelings. Both seem totally vacant and emotionally flatlined, like zombies on Xanax.
Gloria should hurt her daughter’s feelings - nothing matters when it comes to safety of the kids. The daughter should pull up her big girl “pants” and take it.
I understood your comment wrong…obviously. Disregard it. We agree (sometimes I don’t understand the subtleties of English).
The way they spoke about the nanny at the beginning was just sad. They should be glad that someone at least cares about the safety of their kids bc they clearly didn’t.
Entitlement is at the root of that kind of attitude. The parents initially sounded like victim--poor us.
Would’ve resigned before even calling Supernanny
I bet they went through nanny after nanny too.
Feels like they didnt want someone to hit the alarm to the danger the kids are in
They should be grateful the nanny hasn't quit!
They boys are so incredibly polite! Testament to grandma's hard work with them.
Honestly they’re all good kids, the parents are just lazy and don’t discipline them or spend time with them.
Absolutely !! Definitely not the actual parents work !!! Wow, they are checked out......
Very cheeky but good manners.
Grandma was so real. Rolled up and was like where’s the pool fence. Put your jacket on. Get me baby wipes FAST.
She meant business.
My mother-in-law is like that, but unlike these people, I learn from her and appreciate her advice and help. I wish she didn't live so far away. She's just the best.
Loved her!
How could she not tell her Mom that she loves her. I told my Mom every day that I loved her even if I was mad at her. I would love to hear my Mom tell she loves me just one more time.
Grandma doesn't play!
I love how it doesn't occur to the dad that grandma prioritizes swimming lessons because she's trying to help the kids SURVIVE THEIR CHILDHOODS in this negligent pool-owning household.
It always amazes me when I see most homes in America with pools that don’t have fences. In Australia it’s law, you have to have your pool fenced off and no structures against the fence that can be used to climb into the pool area.

Should be law everywhere
I say this all the time but Supernanny is truly awesome and non judgmental in her approach. She truly helps families overcome issues. I give her books as baby shower gifts. The include modern, common sense and informative advice to new parents.
Honestly, I don't care for this couple. I don't know why exactly, but I don't really like them.
Exactly dad‘s an idiot not to see that grandma was just trying to keep those kids alive. What two ungrateful parents!
Nanny: You are putting your children and infant in grave danger due to your irresponsibility and carelessness.
Dad: Well, first of all, I need to know that my mother-in-law 100% respects the sport of basketball.
💀
🤣🤣🤣
It really did sound like he was trying to come up with something to complain about so he could deflect.
The grandmother raised her children already. For her son in law to even expect her to do more is unreal. It's the parents responsibility to do extracurricular activities with the kids, not grandmom
Hi 👋 Joanna, how are you doing ?
You can tell she spoiled her daughter
Unless she wants to.
Where on earth did he find the AUDACITY to talk to his mother in law like that? And how on earth did her daughter think it was okay to let her husband disrespect her own mother like that.
Wah, wah, you’re not paying attention to the basketball and only care about taking all of MY children to swimming because I’m too busy. Even though I made all 5 of them I expect you to parent my kids!
The parents saying “we’re exhausted” when they literally do next to nothing to raise their kids properly makes me unexplainably angry
I was looking for this comment because I was gonna say exhausted from what?
It's called mental exhaustion cause we have no extra help from anyone and we don't talk to anyone but our kids
@@bus2797 Lol
Nothing "unexplainable" about it.....

I love how this was.The only thing he could find fault with in grandma's parenting
Right?! The irony!!!
10 minutes in and grandma is the only adult with my respect
The nanny too! She seemed to really care about the kids
You notice grandma put baby in her low chair then the mum took her out and grandma had to feed baby while mum was holding her???
Or the nanny.
Wow
Don’t forget the nanny

CPS only takes children in the most dire situations. Nothing would have happened here.
My first thoughts exactly. This family unfortunately reminded me of my time growing up🫣
I have to say, it's pretty amazing how polite those children were considering their parents weren't doing much to raise them.
I wonder if that's thanks to Gloria and Katie.
I can't recall if "Gloria" was Grandma but the manners certainly would have come from her.

I love how the parents are "exhausted" but it's the grandma doing all the work.
Exhausted but mom looks well rested, with freshly dyed hair and waxed brows….🤦♀️

Agreed
The parents are very busy with their precious lifestyle, grandma is busy actually parenting
I really do not like the father. He complained about the grandmother “not respecting” this kids other spots, even though she’s the one taking them to swimming and showing up to the games. Meanwhile he’s a totally hands off borderline absent father.
So true..
Easier to place blame on others than on himself
Amen. Dad & mom both needs to work on their opinions of grandmother. . Shes right on and so helpful with those children. The kids Mother and dad are both lazy. They both need to get busy and raise the children they made themselves
It's their job.
I don't like this father either.
I don’t think the father liked the grandmother ! But she’s fabulous and so hands on … I think many of us have missed out on this type of grandparental help
grandma was incredible. how privileged of these parents to have the help available to them
"It feels like work." Newsflash Mom, parenting *is* work.
Was going to say how can they be overwhelmed when 90% of the time it's poor Katie and Gran raising the kids because they can't be bothered to take responsibility.
And she had 5, for some reason
@@Sgtstrawberry92 Right?!
I assume she means she has no fun with her kids. I agree parenting is work but I also have time to just enjoy interaction with my kid
Seriously. They have *way* more help than the average parents.
So dad over here complaining about how grandma prioritizes swimming when she has been to every basketball game except one. Seriously, I respect grandma
Dad seems to be full of himself
I was waiting for someone to ask how many games he'd been to.
Plus, he suddenly didn't want to discuss it anymore when she reminded him she was at every game but one! And when she was at all those games, do you know who she was there with? The other kids' PARENTS! Not their GRANDPARENTS! That's who all the other kids had there!
What actually killed me about that exchange was after he said that, how hurt she looked.
The dad needs to shut up owt Grandma enjoy swimming
Swimming is more important because of the lack of safeguards.
I am 25 minutes in and I can’t remember seeing dad speak to the kids!? When he is there he just stands there.
Gloria is old school, calm and structured, I liked watching her with the kids.
Yes, and authoritative.
calm, structured and old school and WITHOUT being abusive. She was great with those kids
You can hear it in the way the boys express themselves! It's all from their grandma, not their parents. Until the nanny came along to be fair, I think they must have felt like they were two of the kids themselves.
It’s parents like this that make millennials look incompetent
Why does Jenny Swift tell Max to hold on to the trolley and his 3 brothers don't get to hold the trolley sometimes?
I respect Katie and Gloria so much. Like Katie could have been fired and lost her income for calling the show but she cares enough to risk it. And Gloria has raised those boys to be respectful and kind.
ooo yeah, I never thought of that. could you imagine...oooff. Imagine that phone call hello CPS... I nanny for people and I got fired for calling them out lol
The politeness of those boys when the nanny showed up jumped out at me. I didn't know where they got that politeness from, but now that you mention Gloria, it makes sense.
I felt the resentment of Katie even at the end. That mom resents her. I wouldn't be surprised if they fired her after the show.
No 22-year-old should be watching 5 kids
@@WhyvetteZagree!
That Dad! Oh mercy, he’s about the most ungrateful, selfish person in that house. Does he not realize his mother in law is not his personal slave. She’s giving her valuable time and putting up with her daughter’s resentment.

Hell yeah she did!!

I was cheering for her at that part! So glad she got to take her "revenge" with some fun dodgeball
what happened to jenny's dad?
I thought the same thing! When I saw her draw back, I knew he was getting every day/week/month/year that she's been holding her tongue!!!!!
"What are these parents thinking?"
They aren't. That's the problem!
1000000% all the way

They should have thought and planned carefully before becoming parents. Smh. She said she was not having fun. I'm sure she had fun making those children. Smh
These have to be the least interested parents. Like that woman doesn’t care at all.
I was prepared for the worst with the grandmother, and she genuinely is so lovely and sincere and caring.

Kudos for letting the boys be involved with the baby proofing since they seemed to genuinely care about and love their baby sister.

Wow. Dad had the gall to complain that Grandmother wasn't supporting basketball. Just how much unpaid childcare do you expect from her? It's YOUR job, Dad.
And plus, they needed her for the swimming thing because they had no safety measures around their pool
Yeah the grandma is probably scare for them
These parents should've been reported
He was just picking fights… attack instead of defence
And basketball probably won’t save their lives.
I love how they had 4 children before the baby and didn't care to baby proof the house until NOW.
The last two were probably oopsies, and if they had any baby proofing from the first three, it was gone by then
This grandma should be enjoying retirement but shes back to parenting her own kids children 90% of the time!

That dad is ridiculous. At 69 Grandma can go to whatever activities she chooses. Just because you can have children, doesn’t mean you should.
Yeah, like how many games has he been to?
She’s 60.
@@lizziebkennedy7505 it clearly showed on screen at the intro that she’s 69.
I first watched this show AGES ago, long, long before I had kids. To this day, I quote Gloria with my kids, "go get your socks -- FAST!" She was the real deal.
As someone who can never have my own biological children it really breaks my heart to see parents not appreciate or take care of their children!
I’m glad Jo was stern with them.
Exactly
Im sorry you have to deal with that. Im in the same boat and it amazing me how people dont appreciate how lucky they are.
Struggling doesn't mean you don't appreciate your children. You don't have children so you have no clue what the day to day is like. Telling someone not to be overwhelmed or tired and just "be lucky" disrespects THEIR feelings by saying they should just be lucky. How cruel.
@@604Beanz Have u seen the house not being baby proof? One wrong thing and that baby could’ve died. Plus I met so many families where parents shouldn’t have kids at all yet people who want kids sadly can’t. Telling someone they don’t have kids and don’t understand the day to day struggle-the person literally said they can’t have kids or else they would understand and probably be better parents. So that was harsh on ur end
I’m sorry you have to deal with that
The parents complain about the grandma and the nanny and don't realize how lucky they are to have them there.
I know right! I had ZERO help. And i still survived, and enjoy parenting always
To blame your poor parenting on your nanny, is despicable. The parents are 100 percent at fault for their children’s behaviour. Terrible parenting OMG
They are so incredibly immature for people who have so many kids. Just goes to show how much grandma must have taken off their hands
Huh? Dad thinks grandma bringing the kids to swimming instead of basketball is the problem? ( not to mention that the pool that has no alarm and no fence). Jeesh! Rather than be grateful for her help, he’s complaining that it’s not enough.
My question is. What does he do with the kids ? I didnt see much of anything
@@dianep3071 think you answered your question there
Also swimming is more important than basketball, it's a skill that can save your life, even though it doesn't seem like she's prioritizing any sport over the other, I think it would make sense to prioritize swimming over other sports
Yeah with that kind of pool safety the kids needs to learn to swim ASAP
@@emmahallbacka Funny thing is that all of their kids(they now have 6) all do swimming competitively and are great at it.
Jo said it all, mom is lazy! She keeps popping out kids and expects the nanny to "fix" them when the parents are the ones breaking them. The parents could care less about the kid's safety. Its unbelievable that some parents refuse to parent their own children. Parenting IS work!

Hi 👋 Heather, how are you doing?
That's the English in her. Taking no prisoners but not being rude.
Does well to listen first and not to antagonise the parents but begin with empathising with the mum feeling overwhelmed and correcting the dad ('we let him choose' rather than 'let him do it himself') without humiliating him. She was doing some good nannying on the 'adults'.
She always picks up on the problem from the little intro video. It’s probably an editing thing but it’s a nice detail
I’m a nanny, and this SUPER disrespectful. We are no where near paid enough to raise other people’s kids. I’ve learned that every single parent raises their kids differently. If at all. And it’s exhausting!

One thing I can say is that the mom was really great about putting her ego aside and throwing herself into everything Jo taught her. I loved watching her bond with her kids, and you could see the genuine joy it gave her. Grandma was the best! They're so lucky to have her! I hope this family kept things up and remembered everything they learned.
I think mom really was well intentioned.
It’s honestly good, because she was already an irresponsible parent, and the dad. But good thing they cooperated and used the techniques correctly.
Seeing the boys help baby proof the house was adorable, as the “baby” sister to 4 (now 3) boys, the natural protective factor they have for her
What do you mean "now 3"? Did one of the boys pass?
@@helloworld441Wondered the same..
We need answers
This is one of the worst neglects I have seen on the show. I feel like Jo was so easy on the parents in the meeting, if it was later in the seasons bad cop Jo would have wrecked them lmao
Bad Cop Jo is just the same Jo except she’s have 0% sh*t with parents.
Sadly, there have been worse neglect cases on this show. 😢
i like how Jo is scolding the mother and telling her that what she is doing wrong and she’s standing there kind of smiling like it’s a joke
36:50 the grandmas genuine emotion over finally being appreciated by her selfish son in law. Priceless.
Considering how lackadaisical the parents are about pool safety, Dad should be grateful that the Grandmother makes such an effort for the kids to learn how to swim. They sure can't rely on their parents to keep them safe around their pool. Dad is ridiculous to expect the Grandmother to focus equal attention on the swimming and the basketball. Maybe he should be the one to take all the kids to swimming and basketball. The idea that the Grandmother should be responsible for all the sports is nuts.
Are we gonna talk about how polite the kids were when Jo arrived and said hi to them all? Like they instantly introduced themselves and were very friendly about it. That's one good thing!
The parents aren't very good at being parents but their kids actually seem really sweet. Their parents haven't raised them properly so they struggle. These kids are still very young so they don't fully understand that some things are wrong and their parents just don't want to help them properly. I'm glad the Grandma and the Nanny are trying their best to help!
Those manners are because of the grandmother NOT those alleged parents
@@yolondambrowm9803 didn't say anything about the parents teaching the kids to be polite. Read it again
Rad grandma squad, hell yeah
The only reason those kids were polite was because of Gloria. The parents had no desire to do ANYTHING with the kids!!!
@@thespacecowboy71 , it was implied. The only "good" thing the parents did was they kept the kids alive.
They should have NOT had that many children. If they realized they couldn't take proper care of 2, they should have utilized family planning and birth control. Seriously.
"We're exhausted." Uh, hello, Jenny - you and Tony don't DO anything to be exhausted over! Kadie and Gloria are basically the parents. They do all the work, they give the discipline, they give the love. If you're just going to ignore your children, you shouldn't have had any in the first place.
This episode was more about jo teaching the parents how to actually be parents than having to deal with naughty children. The way the parents were dealing with their family like was shocking, some people should never be parents clearly.
It is usually always that way. Kids adapt to their envrionment and parents are the ones who foster that environment
@@MrWspfagreed 100%
99% of the time I would say that parents have to do with their children’s behavior, tendencies, attitude, etc
Its so odd how the grandma is telling the boy to stop playing with his food while the father is right there at the table with them and he was on his phone the whole time..
This family should’ve never had this many kids, they seem like they had kids just because they could and not because they generally wanted to have them.
Honestly by the end it seemed only the mother after learning how to properly parent enjoyed it while her husband was still stuck in his narcissistic doesn’t care about new rules ideology
If they didn't want to have them they wouldn't be putting in the effort to fix their family dynamic
@@Amused_Comfort_Inc the nanny did though, not the parents, who didnt even realize till she said something.
@@Amused_Comfort_Inc just because you want to get better your own situation that involves your kids it doesn't mean you are doing it for them. You can help other people while being selfish and worrying your situation, and you are still not doing it for them
@@LowSlungBadBitchthey easily could've told Jo to go away
@@unlimon6382 So what makes it okay for you to assume they're doing it for themselves? You can literally say that about anyone, because you don't know anyone's intentions, you could prescribe the worst motives ever and no one could say different.
