Sometimes receiving your UEI will take 1-5 business days. In my case 1/2 day... Don't think that you did something wrong. When you receive an email saying incident. They just need to review your documents. Your on the right path.

Wanted to first say thank you for the incredible step by step instruction here! Super helpful. As an important note - I wanted to give everyone a heads up that on the Tax Payer Information Page - The Tax Payer should actually be your business name rather than your personal name. Thanks again!
so i need an LLC or some type of taxable business that the IRS knows about? i cant just register as an individual just to win some bids and then get an official LLC or registered business after i get some capital? because i am at that step to register for a UEI on sam.gov and i put a physical address but i left the top two blank (legal business name) and ( doing business as(optional)) , and i can not continue because the "next" button is not highlighted for me to click on. is there anyway i can still bid and start this business ?

I am glad I watched this. Now I have to go in and change a few things, I watched the video from a year ago and it was not as detailed. I messed up on the Business name and name on my IRS form, I think I changed it correctly, but already submitted the form. I have to wait until it comes back or is approved to change the Naics code and Credit Card to yes, correct? Though it says update nothing happens, so I think I have to wait. Anyway, thank you for this. Just ordered your books so I am on point from here on out. Thank you!

Hi, I hit a bit of a road block when needing to put in my EIN number, because I dont know where to find it or if I even have one. I just opened an incorporated business in the state of Utah six months ago and I dont see the EIN anywhere on the official documents. Any ideas on what to do to get it so I can continue the application process.
Hi Dr.Parks - You mentioned that a virtual address can not be used. My company is a start up and all I have at this time is a virtual address. The company that I have the virtual address with does have a pkg with meeting space. If I change to that Pkg do you think that would be ok?

at 8:00 You want 12/31 (December 31st) for your fiscal year end date (month/day). It does not include the year in the date (because it happens every year).
Now I am looking to get my CAGE CODE. This is a lengthy process as I’m going through this for the second time. With UEI number you don’t get paid yet correct? You can only look for contracts at this point.
@KizzyParks At this time I only have a virtual address but, the company that I am using does have viruall offices with meeting space that I can use. If I move to that pkg would that be ok for my SAM.gov application?

OH my goodness. I got my UEI and submitted my application, but under purpose of registration I selected Federal Assistance Award instead of Contract Bidding. :(. Will I be able to change it after I get my CAGE number?
When I open up my Sam.gov it does not look like that so I don’t know where you’re getting that at?
