That is awesome. I've wanted something like this for a while. Nicely done.

Nice! This reminds me of using a step sequencer to make a waveform by putting in an audio-rate clock signal. Your channel has some top notch oscilloscope content.

Thank you! And yes...that's very much what it's like! Of coure it's 12 steps/wave so after about 1.6kHz to your ear, the driving Osc is running supersonic.

Reminds me of the lsdj wavetable sequencing sounds

Bit late to the party but I would be extremely interested in a diy kit! I dream of a diy set of the tso/tzo/2vl1 all nestled together 😎

Very interesting VCO module concept. Can I buy it as a kit like your other modules ?

Thanks Edwardo! For this one, not currently yet, but I am thinking about doing a DIY version of it. There are some more logisitics to think about than a normal analog module since it has a microcontroller, that is the only reason I have hesitated to do so thus far!

    Phew. Sounds delightful, man.

where can i learn more about this synthesis technique? this sounds awesome!

Thank you! I do need to write a little more documenation on this module, and as of yet only have the instruction card which explains the settings. As a basic background though, this module is an ultrasonic VCO, operating at 12 times the audible base frequency you hear. This VCO clocks a sequential 12-stage binary counter chip, which in turn clocks an analog multiplexer, which gets you this analog stepped waveform!

@@westonprecisionaudio yeah it's sort of reminds me of a harmonic oscillator but you're using divide down type circuit like old string machines? not sure i understand but an oscilloscope always helps. 👍 keep up the good work!

@@off711 Yeah It's not divide down per se by definitely not unlike divide down really as counters basically work the same way, and that is to say they are comprised of cascaded flip flops!

This sounds awesome! How is the tracking across higher and lower registers?

Thanks! It's great up to C6 (4.1khz) and normally C7 (8.3khz), beyond that it goes a bit flat, but I don't know who works up in there anyway!

That being said the last one I built was at like 16,200Hz where it should be 16,477, so really not bad. And again that is crazy high.

@@westonprecisionaudio Very awesome, sounds rock solid. I'll buy one soon, once I sell off a few modules :) Thanks!!
