Thanks for the nice comments! As far as your questions go, 1) It is only meant to work with clean periodic waveforms, so if it's very complex, it will get confused and have ...interesting..results :). However, if you have something that is pretty clean like a bass guitar and filter it a little bit before entereing H1, it works pretty well. I tried it was a bass briefly and it was not bad. If there's other harmonic content (like a chord or 2 notes or some crazy wavefolding) there's no way it can derrive a single pitch from this. 2) It is good tracking over about 7 octaves within 2-3 cents, so pretty good! And very stable. They make a great regular VCO for set and forget type stuff.

@@westonprecisionaudio Really appreciate the reply! Have RTFM meanwhile and found out about the clean waveforms for pitch tracking. Can't argue with physics! Very glad to hear about the oscs tracking so well. Using them as 2 additional bread and butter oscs when not needing the harmonizer capabilities is exactly what I was contemplating when I asked about the tracking. Great to hear, and in usual fashion you already thought about that as well. This one is on the shortlist for future additions now. :) Main use case will be not to harmonize a fundamental, but to harmonize another upper voice in a chord to provide melodic movements, appogiaturas, passing tones and the like on a top voice (already quantized by another unit). :)

Kind of... The envelope is only sampled on zero cross when it's turned on, so worst case would be if you had a completely square hypothetical instant-on attack envelope that hit when your source wave form was at the peak of it's cycle. In that case the delay until that envelope hit would be 1/4 of the period, so 2.5ms for a 100Hz sine wave for example.

We've never been a HP squeezing brand and not trying to compete with those who do squeeze things super tight. That's all I can say on that! :)

Yes, it will be DIY as well. It is a 0805 and TSSOP surface mount build, so more of an intermediate/advanced build.

It affects the pitch of the resonating part of the kick, not the "slap". Listen as he turns up resonance more, then adjusts the pitch, you will hear the pitch change.

I think it's probably possible, but I'd have to take a look at the extent of what would be needed. It would be a little surgery, but the "wheels" to do it are certainly in place.

@@westonprecisionaudio I had some issues; soldered a pair of 1 row sockets on the wrong side of the board (doh), but otherwise it was a fun build! I just need to goop up the transistor pairs and fit the screws and I'm done. Amazing module and excellent support, can't ask for more than that :)

Thanks! I would say B2 is good for Techno for sure! Maybe AD110 as well if you like old school drum sounds. You can also make your own voices the traditional way with VCOs, VCFs, VCAs, etc.. just note I don't currently have some of those features as modules. I do have a couple of great VCOs though and you can see the demos on here (search PA0 and TZ0). Depending on if you are looking for DIY or pre-built it will vary what modules I have available. B2, AD110, and TZ0 are available through DIY. Those 3 plus PA0 are available pre-built. :)
