We really need some clarification here. Are they going to make more vintage Playmates figures besides what has already been announced or not? I’m down for a set of 2003 turtles, Shredder and maybe some foot soldiers, but I’m here for Playmates style. I still want Dirtbag, Groundchuck, General Traag, Chromedome, and Antrax at the very least.
Agreed, I feel like I’m missing something. If large portions of the vintage line are now off the table I’d like to know myself cause having glaring holes means why bother committing to the line.

With S7's current QC issues you're an absolute fool if you think this release isnt going to have some enormous issues that will require something additional to be fixed after it ships. I think it has the chance of being so disastrous the company could crumble if it goes bad enough.
while i hate the QC, they seem to be in good terms with youtubers and since they are the only one making certain products ike thundercats, dont think they will go down
Sad to see that the original premise of the TMNT line is gone. There's a few other characters I'd have liked to see in their vintage form. Also, I'd like to hear more about the Godzilla and Star Trek lines. Not too many interviews cover those.

Speaking for myself, I was very hopeful for vac-metal hawks early on. However I've stopped pre-ordering all Super7 figures given their track record for poor QC. I haven't ordered the vac-metal hawks not because the desire isn't there but because I'm hesitant and waiting for reviews before I commit my money.

I went all-in and ordered the entire Series 1 of GI Joe Ultimates from Super7, plus two SDCC blue BATs. Of all those figures, Duke's neck joint broke right out of the box and all the rest except Snake Eyes had multiple defects/QC issues. I will never, ever buy a Super7 product again and I urge anyone who hasn't sampled their line of overpriced, defective junk to avoid at all costs, or at least do your due diligence before wasting your money on products that will likely break your heart, and your bank account.
I wasn’t happy with my Cobra Commander, either. The white stripe on his helmet wasn’t thick enough and you can see the blue under it. The back of the knee joints look horribly glued. There were several spots that I had to take a hair dryer to to reform plastic dimples.
I wish someone would ask about the missing stairs that should lead to the doors of the Lair. They need to be added.
For any Canadians, what is the best option for the Cat's Lair? Is it Maples and Mangoes or is there anywhere else selling it ?
TMNT sounds good. As long as i can get a vintage style Rat King & Traag sometime next year ill be happy. Although a 2003 style Shredder has my got my attention.
I am so hyped for the 2003 tmnt figures, I hope the Shredder is in the first wave, i been waiting to see if NECA will do the 2003 series, but they are mainly focus on the 80's cartoon, 90's movie, and Mirage(which is my favortie NECA line). I hope these figures will be awesome, Super 7 has saved the day for any fan of the 2003 series.

I’m so confused. I can’t imagine them revealing news of the 2003 turtles so casually. I wonder if this is a mistake. Surely they would have made a big announcement. I can’t find anything and talking like a 2003 wave would be shipping early next year is highly doubtful with no preorders being up or prototypes being shown. Rewatching made it seem like they do plan do continue vintage Playmates figures along with a few figures of what could have been released in the vein of the vintage style. I’m okay with that as long as they continue vintage playmates proper as well.
Flynn’s the owner so it’s not a mistake. He mentions info like this all the time.

Honestly, if they can do “Inspired by vintage Playmates” I’m probably fine. The first Rat King was not an “inspired by”, that was a new figure. Karai and April are takes on what could have been. They’re fine. I get that not everyone will want that, though.@@tylerjensen4875

@@BatmanRobin66 maybe I misheard but I thought he said they are alternating between 2003 and vintage for the waves they already announced. Basically alternating would just push the announced waves further back. And he also said that the future figures would be their interpretation
What did he mean by TMNT 2003? Did I miss something? Also, if they aren't doing a Chrome Dome or any other mutants, there just isn't a point in keeping with their TMNT line. Going to have to make a decision now.

Good interview but a bit bittersweet on the TMNT line. This was a line I was really all in on the vintage line. I thought it was gonna be almost like the MOTU classics line. Think there’s some hard choices coming up.
Metallic paint is what a lot of us wanted for Silverhawks. That metallic red figure Brian held up looked absolutely AMAZING. How about a third run of the main SIlverhawks in metallic paint? I'd buy them!
Please wrap up Toxic Crusaders! Such a small line, just two more waves of three would finish things up!
The reason why the metallic silver hawks numbers are low because most who love the line went in on the first releases.
As much as i want the metallic, i don't know why it feels like s kick in the face.

RE: Sesame Street- I don't think we necessarily need Ultimates! as much as we need a line that matches up with Palisades' Muppet line.
I really wish they would make the rest of the Jem band members, fans need Stormer, Roxy, Kimber, Aja, etc. l am also looking forward to the rumoured MASK reaction figures.
Okay, hear me out - Brian has such a soothing and friendly voice, I have to really focus so I don’t fall asleep. That’s not a bad thing! It’s like Bob Ross’ voice to me. Those guys put me right to sleep because their voices are so calming.

I want them to keep releasing cartoon versions of the silverhawks, and the vac metal ones. But to be honest, I'd be happy with just metallic paint.

Looked like the Steelheart figure in metallic red colors.
Was probably a paint sample for another line. While the first batch of Silverhawks was in production Brian mentioned that he had paint samples of what the figures would look like but he couldn't show them because the factory painted sample figures that hadn't been announced, yet.
2k3 TMNT Ultimates is big news! Can't wait to see them next year.
Next time you and Brian chat, can you ask about Simpsons? I'm worried that wave four won't be happening since we haven't seen it on the updated status page.

It’s hard to gauge the excitement for vac metal over the regular, when most have the original release and don’t want to buy another set of the same figures…
What, folks don't want to buy the exact same versions of a figure, in the deco they were asking for originally, one year after buying the other versions?

Anyone have any info about super7 2003 turtles? Sounds like they’re shipping soon but yet to see anything anywhere? The whole talk about the turtles was a little confusing, and disappointing it sounds like they’re no longer doing playmates ultimates
No they're still making them as they're the vintage throwback style. Sounds to me like they'll be alternating waves. So many have asked for the 2003 style so now they'll be getting them. For me im into the vintage style so in a way 2 waves a year spaced out will be good for my wallet. Alternating them with the 2003 waves gives me that space. That is as long as they still make the vintage figures im after. Might even be tempted to get a 2003 Shredder depending how he looks.

@@khamla616 yeah sounds to me that 2003 is based on the the 2003 series. Vintage is the Playmates classic 87 style that they've been doing from the start of the line.
@@darrellhardy4532 I don’t think they’re doing playmates anymore. Sounded like new figures, he even said how some people may just say “I never had this figure growing up, not for me”
@@tylerjensen4875 then why refer to some of them as vintage? Vintage to me says they're still doing some based on the classic Playmates. Not having certain figures could just be about characters we may or may not have had as kids. I never had Punker Don or any of the sports Turtles for example so i'd not bother with an updated versions. They still need to do Rat King, Traag & Usagi for me to say im done. Sure we'll know more soon.

Be clear and explain, properly, what will be the future of the line inspired by the classic Playmates toys. If you don't produce any more, it makes no sense for me to continue the collection. So I save 600 dollars of party wagon and maybe even think about reselling the pieces I already own, since I don't need an incomplete collection

32:55 For TMNT news! But to be fair ... if they aren't following the vintage Playmates designs anymore, I don't really care about it anymore. Neca TMNT alone is already expensive enough.
This is...not...sounding great for TMNT Ultimates. Can we just not with the original S7 sculpts when we're still missing those classic characters like Greneral Tragg or some of the '91 and most of the '92 unique mutants? That's what we're (e.g., the general TMNT Ultimates collector) here for. I don't want April as a turtle if we don't have Walkabout yet. Especially if it means a slot in the line gets taken up now and means we won't get it down the road.
Too many variants, too many non-classic looks is what's killing excitement for this line, not that "40 turtles is enough." If we're being honest, only about 20 of the figures are unique, and the rest are variants or repaints, which aren't very exciting.
Look at wave 8 - Genghis Frog is the only interesting unique figure. Wave 9? Scumbug and Wingnut. Maybe Zak. Wave 10? Maybe Karai? That's 3 waves, 13 figures and I only want 3 figures. You throw a Walkabout or a Dirtbag or Groundchuck or Wyrm or Antrax in there? We'll buy them.
I think Super7 should do a Dinosaucers line. That would be the best thing ever.

I'm interested, but my issue with Super 7 is the size and that they make figures based on the Playmates toys, not the actual cartoon designs. While the old Playmates toys are kinda accurate, there´re still some differences regarding the toon look. Still, let´s see how those Super 7 Turtles look like. I'm sure I'm going to get them
Well for the 2003 turtles I rather it be more accurate to the cartoon vs the toy I’m curious how they do it it’s not like there’s nostalgia for the 2k3 toys it didn’t sell well people were more into the show

If super 7 cant keep doing tmnt based off of the original playmates line then they need to quit. We don't need some made up shit Brian Flynn think would of been the next turtles in the playmates line. The original line was like 400 figures. He said they have done like 40. So he is at 10 percent. There are plenty to do updated figures of without him coming up with new shit. He said everyone is doing tmnt and is a narrow window but it's not. Super 7 is supposed to be doing what none of the other companies are by doing updates on the original playmates toys. They had a gold mine if they would just do it the way it was ment to be done. Brain Flynn act like he has to invent the wheel or something in his image and it's so complicated. Just give us all the original playmates toy designs in 7 inch scale. Brain Flynn needs to get his ego in check or give up the tmnt vintage style and let neca do it right.

Don't worry, with this news that they're now doing 2 vintage line waves and 2 2K3 waves per year, they won't ever finish any of the variant sets at this rate. Or any of the classic mutants we're missing. But, we'll probably get some more Neutrinos or other figures very few collectors want.
