San Diego Comic-Con, often referred to as Comic-Con International: San Diego, is a world-renowned annual pop culture convention held in San Diego, California, USA. It is one of the largest and most influential fan conventions globally, attracting enthusiasts and professionals from various entertainment industries, including comic books, movies, television, video games, anime, and more.
The event was first held in 1970 and has grown exponentially over the years, evolving from its origins as a gathering of comic book enthusiasts to a multi-genre entertainment extravaganza. Today, it is a massive celebration of all things related to pop culture, drawing in fans, celebrities, artists, writers, and industry insiders alike.
SilverHawks is an animated science fiction television series that aired from 1986 to 1987. It was produced by Rankin/Bass Productions, the same studio that created ThunderCats. The show combines elements of space opera, science fiction, and superhero genres, making it an exciting and action-packed series.
The storyline of SilverHawks takes place in the 29th century, where the Galaxy of Limbo faces a crime wave led by the evil Mon*Star. To combat this menace, a group of cybernetically enhanced heroes known as the SilverHawks is formed. They are selected from the best law enforcement officers and transformed into metal-covered, winged superhumans by the intergalactic law enforcer, Commander Stargazer.
The main character is Colonel Bluegrass, who serves as the leader of the SilverHawks and pilots the space-striker called the "Mirage." The team also includes Copper Kidd, who communicates with birds, Steelheart, who has super strength, Quicksilver, who possesses super speed, and the robotic duo known as The Twins.
The SilverHawks' base of operations is the "Hawk Haven," a flying space station that can transform into a giant metallic hawk when needed. They use their advanced abilities, weaponry, and vehicles to protect the galaxy from the nefarious plots of Mon*Star and his gang of space criminals known as the "Monster Minds."
The show was known for its colorful characters, imaginative world-building, and creative space-themed designs. While it only ran for one season, SilverHawks left a lasting impression on its fans and remains a cult classic among those who fondly remember the animated series from their childhood.
In recent years, there have been talks of a potential revival or reboot of SilverHawks to bring back the beloved characters and introduce them to a new generation of viewers. Whether that will come to fruition remains to be seen, but the original show's legacy continues to live on in the hearts of its devoted fans.

I'll buy them now! I'd be pissed if I bought the regular versions first... Happy I passed. Thanks for the coverage of the show!
And they said it couldn't be done. IT'S A MIRACLE!
You can't believe anything [Flynn] says I guess. Cause Not that long ago, He said _"it's Not Happening!"_ & _"The Vac Metal evaporation aesthetic, isn't going to be applied to his Silver Hawks"_ (on A Fwoosh interview).
> An Now here they are! Yes they Look Sweet! But just now, your heard Flynn say; _"We been working on these for a while."_
> Ergo, Lies upon lies,, what other conclusions should one draw? Collectors have to buy another version now as well! Thus Im guessing that was the "S7 science" all along, double dipping the same consumer for more $$$. Instead of being honest from jump street.
Smh.
Exactly! That guy is such a liar. And amazingly enough they accomplished it the same way I suggested them to by spacing the joints a little bit more. Who knew common sense would work. 🥴
He explains
I had a feeling! Cheers to those guys for the work it took to pull it off.
Hooooooo tremendous 😱 that chrome in every Silver Hawks, I knew that S7 would take it out with the chrome, since many Silver Hawks fans could, luxury 💪🏻🇦🇷
Condolences to everyone who spent hundreds of dollars on the grey ones 😬
GID Glow in the Dark, & Chrome are the best for 80's & 90's action figures 👍
It's amazing how they made an effort to improve the original figures' articulation.
Where do you see an improvement in articulation? Looks the same to me. Steelheart's entire torso is still a solid one-piece. Her hip configuration won't allow her to move her legs any further than 90 degrees. There is still no butterfly joint on the arms and worst of all, single jointed elbows and knees :( . I find Super7's figures to be nothing more than mildly articulated statues.
Tell Brian the license is approved!! I am glad I held off !!!
I have nearly all of the original ones. I held off of the Super7 ones because they were not vac metal. Now I will be getting these!
Same here
I'm so glad I held off getting getting these. Will be getting the vac metal ones
Siiiiiiiiiiiicccccccckk!!! Looks amazing!! You. And the fam are gonna have a great weekend there!!
Well, I'm glad they finally got these made for those of you who really wanted the metallic versions! I still own my original Quicksilver from when I was a kid, 60% of the metal is gone....
I'm happy with just owning the original Super 7 cartoon version. I'm more a fan of the cartoon than of the old toy line.
The old toy line totally sucked. But these new vac-metalized figures are what the original toy line should have been. These are what I imagined back then before seeing the actual line.
And I don't understand the line based on the cartoon. The cartoon was supposed to be based on the toys. The vac-metalized figures are supposed to represent the cartoon characters. So I don't know where dull gray fits in. The cartoon was drawn to look like shiny metal, not dull gray plastic.
I'm definitely getting those Vac Metal versions too!
Copper Kid my Fave!!! 💯⭐️
LOVING the vac metal, it's exactly what I wanted, glad I held off on the line so far. The red on the toy colors Mon-Starr doesn't look right, as someone that loves my vintage toy of him I can say it look wrong.
Me too so happy I didn’t but just to sell
Not wrong just the GREEN TONE is wrong the rest on BUZZ SAW looks perfect
@@ConstantineCydonea naw that red doesn’t match part of the vintage mon Starr, needs to be a little brighter to match his back and front plate covers. Matches the red of his arms and legs pretty well. I agree about the green.
Wow! Just wow!
Thanks Brian! I hope I can get these 😊
That is what we've been waiting for. Time to make a new shelf.
Well said, I completely agree! These babies are going to look great in my shelf!!!
YES! THEY DID IT!!!
I look forward to the in depth interview with Brian.
Awesome!!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Holy childhood flashback batman! That cartoon had the sickest intro, when I was a kid.
I'm so excited sliverhawks is finally getting some love
Wait a minute. I have the first releases of Quicksilver, Steelheart & Steelwill. But I might have held out if I'd known these new versions were coming. This is only going to make me more hesitant to fork over my money to Super7 for first releases.
😂 🖕🏻super 7
Man.... These figures are looking great 😀✌️
Now I need Silverhawks 😭 They look so amazing and like how they should. Can't wait to see Mon*Star and the villains
Oh I'm super excited about the toy accurate Buzz-Saw- AND he includes a toy accurate open mouth head!
Sooooooooo happy
I can not wait to purchase these. Mix n match both cartoon and toy accurate lines
Wow!!!😍🥰 thank you, Pixel Dan, for sharing this amazing new Silver Hawks!! I have the vintage ones in my collection, but I was waiting for a toy line to make something like this!!!😍
They look amazing! ❤ I always had an eye on SILVERHAWKS, but never had one.
These look amazing. And I now want green chromed turtles. S7 please make it happen
Super 7s on a roll!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Interesting that it is pending license approval. 2 years ago Brian claimed that they had bought silverhawks straight up. Apparently they didn't get them as well as they thought they had.
They thought they owned it but when they tried to make a silverhawks cartoon with nacelle, they found out Warner bros. still owns it.
Oh wow! I still have one of the Silver Hawks from back in the day but it’s missing the wings 🪽 I’m for sure getting those
They said it couldnt be done...now this. PLastic finish figures now are on 50% or more discount jajajaja
I am buying 2 each if those silver hawks vac metal !!!
What?
You can't fling these across the yard and expect them to stay in good shape?
Why...that's unheard of!
Oh Man, I‘m so glad I didn‘t preorder their first cartoon versions. Can you ask Brian in the Super7 booth tour/interview what is going on with the TNG Ultimates and the cancellation of Guinan. Thanks!
I wasn't even asking for vac metal. I just wanted silver/metallic paint and I would've been happy because I know vac metal wears off. The "toon" ones don't look good to me and the articulation on them kinda sucks.. But I'll get these though just for the vac metal 🤷🏽♂️ lol
Enhancement/upgrade kit for the Thundertank? (i.e., remove the cannon and add more seats inside, replace the tread so that it can roll easier)
I have the cartoon versions and I will be getting these too. I knew when I bought the cartoon versions these were coming, we all did. Hopefully they get these out soon, sounds like they are held up by branding. Brian gets it. Eveyone gave the cartoon versions so much hate...but you know what...they are great and the toy versions will be great too.
how well will the vac metal hold up to being used and played with?
Ooooh!! I’ll be buying those.
SOLD!!!
I mean didn’t we see this coming
O.K. so why couldn't we get these Vac-Metal Silverhawks to begin with? Now we have to order these all over again... albeit they are beautiful!🤔🤨🤗🙏
Incredible
Looks like they got it right this time😊
Vac metal!!!!!
I can't wait. I didn't get the first version. Definitely jumping on these. They look amazing
WANT WANT WANT
I can imagine the Vac Metal ones will be a little more expensive and that's fine with me, plus I don't see me pulling these out of the box like the others.
Yeah maybe $65 but totally worths it
@@ConstantineCydonea Brian said in the interview with Pixel Dan they would be $65-$75 for them, little pricey but it's Silverhawks.
those look rad
Love your stuff Dan! I’ve been wondering and praying that super 7 will release a Steel Will in the chrome like Quicksilver and Steel Heart. I’m a huge Steel Will fan and have the first release but am dying for a “metalized” one. I’m surprised they didn’t do it when they re released Steel Heart as they share the same tinted metal look. Wondering if you have heard anything. Thanks man
Why have not doing those directly ?
😅 I am so glad I did not buy the first wave. Thank you Brain for the Vac Metal!
Welp. there we go. Now I have to buy them.
Niiiiice
Says pending licensor approval, and I was under the impression Super7 owned the Silverhawks. Regardless this is pretty cool.
Still no Copper Kid? 🤔
I understand the pain!!! My inner 10 year old is so hyped
Still waiting for my favorite one to be made. Can we please get Flashback
These look freaking sweet!!!!!! Can you ask Brian if this means we can expect a vac metal Destro, CC, B.A.T etc. Essentially if they plan on bringing this technology to the Joe line. TIA.
That's exactly what YOU wanted
Hi Dan, finally these are the silverhawks i wanted for long time, I don't like the first ones and I'm so glad for not buying, thank you very much! 🤘
I prefer the animation look but it'll be hard saying no to the vac-metal Hawks. I don't think I need green Buzzsaw or Monstar though. I knew these would come eventually but now I'm torn!
Definitely yellow BuzzSaw looks better
@@ConstantineCydonea I think so too. The green vintage toy always bugged me as a kid. That's why I love all the animation accurate figures we're getting across multiple toy lines these days.
Will they come in Europe?
Man I've been avoiding silverhawks because of the non vac metal...but now...i guess I'm just going to always be poor😂
Great. I literally just got Quicksilver today. Smh.
yes
Remember when these guys almost crossed over with the 2011 Thundercats? Ahhh the good ol days
It was the "Toy Colored" variants of the Thundercats line that brought me in. I'll definitely do it again with Silverhawks. I just couldn't get behind the animated look of the figures. Same problem I have with some of the animated style TMNT. I prefer the ole Playmates look and colors
The animation was drawn to look like shiny metal. So I don't know WTF people are talking about when they say the dull gray is the animated look. The cartoon looked nothing like that.
I still would have been happy with the cartoon ones just having metallic paint. Not sure why it had to be all or nothing
So for those of us who only bought the original Super7 release because they said they couldn’t do vac-metal now have to shell out another $55 a pop for figures we wanted to begin with. Thanks S7, so kind of you. 🤦
So Brian Flynn lied.
Again.
He didn't lie ! In all of his interviews when he was asked about making toy versions, he would say "we're making cartoon animated !".
I don't remember him ever saying he won't or can't !
@@ultramag0343 Perhaps we remember the same comments in a different way.
@@alemartin444 Are you saying you remember him saying "we WON'T/CAN'T do toy versions !" ???
I watch all of his interviews and I remember him telling everyone that asked him about toy versions and he never said he wouldn't do toy versions, he's focusing on the animated versions.
Seems like you didn't read between the lines !
@@ultramag0343 It's all over the web, on forums, comments, etc., over July 2021. We all watched the same interviews. It's fine if you are ok with his way of do things and convince customers to buy his product. But I'm just so glad I cancelled silverhawks waves.
This is a real opportunity for Flynn to be candid with the community on what they can expect in terms of quality and chipping on these figs. He is reversing course somewhat about vac-metal, he did suggest more than once the probable QC issues. So the joints are vacced, I am thinking they will most definitely chip. What he was saying out the shaving of the plastic didnt make sense, b/c then the joints will be too loose. Pixel Dan knows all this, I am hoping he pushes him on it. The first wave chipped badly for alot of people, I had to return 2 of the figures as a result and am still waiting on replacements. Don't sugar coat it to sell product, thats not cool. Nobody is throwing these figures across the room, they are prob being lightly posed for shelf display, or very light play. Dont go to the extreme examples, acknowledge who is buying your product - ie adults - and how adults use these. If I bend an arm and it chips after 5 times, thats a problem. Thats what happened with my Steelwill and Bluegrass. Just dont BS people please, its bad business. I like Brian, he is doing amazing things, he gets conflicted with his roles as a fan and CEO trying to maximize profits. I am not saying its easy, just dont dismiss the issues, thats all.
Don't hold your breath. Brian has never been open and honest with customers
Oh dammit! The dull grayhawks were so easy to avoid/skip. But now I'm gonna want these vac-metalized versions. Thats the Steelheart I imagined when I was a kid. I was expecting the Silverhawks toys to be very similar to the Thundercats. I was shocked & disgusted when I first saw the toy line. I never bought any of them. That line totally sucked!
So now I finally have the Silverhawks line I wanted to collect way back then. I pretend that the original line doesn't even exist. This is the first real Silverhawks toy line. Extremely late! Same with Jada's Street Fighter line. 2 toy lines released in the wrong decade.
Out-filthyword-STANDing! That's the Buzzsaw I wanted! I'm not going to collect the rest of this line, as I have no real connection to the property, but I'm happy for the people who have been waiting for stuff like this. I hope they do a Thundercats wave containing Toy Colours Hammerhand, soon!
And I feel bad for Brian Flynn. Doesn't matter what he does, whiny little clowns with no idea of how the economics of small businesses and manufacturing work will complain about it.
"We wAntEd vAc-MetAl SilVeRhawKs!"
"Okay, we had to produce our first run of the less-costly animated versions in order to get the capital to be able to produce them, but here you go . . . ."
"YoU sUcK!!!1"
I bet if he did the Vac-Metal versions first, there'd be a string of gripes from these twerps saying "i wAntEd teh cArtOon-acCuRatE coLurz! WoRst coMpAnY eVar!!!!1"
Pixel Dan: "I totally LOVE it!!!" "So you will then send me free samples, so that I could review them on my channel, right?"
Brian: "Heck, no, man! You will have to purchase them as anyone else."
Pixel Dan: 0_0 0_0 0_0
😀 😀 😛
Pass the bread 🍞 here comes the super 7 bologna
Yikes. Sorry, but Super7 kind of did a lot of people dirty with that one.
yep especially with the thundercats line
They're super wack for this. Yeah they look good, still, wack they rolled this line out the way they did.
If they can't look up enough for flying poses, S7 can keep them. Make an error once, happens - keep making it, forget it.
Shut up and take my liver.
I'm running out of body parts.
Man....that's just messed up. I pre-ordered Steelheart over a YEAR before she was released. They kept pushing back and pushing back and by the time I got her....disappointed. Mostly in the articulation category. Super7 has some great concepts and ideas and really good artists, but terrible engineers. With the figure engineering we have today, these could be FAR more articulated, especially at their price point. I do admit that the metal looks exquisite and what we SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN to begin with. I won't be holding my breath to get this. Besides, if their current release schedule is the norm, this won't come out until 2025. Who knows where we will be in terms of figure offering at that time.
So no one is going to buy the cartoon accurate ones anymore... no one!
Those look bad to the bone
If I had known this version would come out I wouldn't have bought the first one. They are liars and thieves.
Leave it to super7 to pull this garbage.
I said the same thing on this post, and they deleted my post immediately. Super-7 lied to everyone.
โอ้ยอย่ากได้โว้ยยยย เอากริตไนคมาแล้กเอาใหม😮
It REALLY pisses me OFF....now I have to buy them TWICE...
I dunno....the only thing that doesn't look right is the actual wings being vac metal too.. those should be different...
But yeah, it looks like they maybe got it right with the colors.
To be honest I wasn't that happy with the dull ones....
