I still love the TMNT Ultimates line. Admittedly though, this interview has renewed my excitement.

like THE OTHER TWO PUNK FROGS! Don't get me wrong, I love Napoleon. for wtv reason he's my fav Punk Frog, but it's not fair how he's the only one w a guaranteed toy. in Vintage it was him and Genghis, in 2012 it was him and Atilla, so I'm really hoping characters like him, Atilla, and Rasputin (bc Genghis is already in) and Armaggon, and maybe even The Mutagen Monster (real long shot but cmon let a boy dream)
I in general love this line so much. This, Masters Of The Universe Origins, NECA's Mirage Figures, and NECA's 1987 figures are my all time favorite toylines. you guys at Super7 have worked your asses off to make the best action figures I've seen. I can't wait to see what you guys have planned in the future, especially on the 2003 front...

I wonder if it'll be based off the cartoon or its toys...
because I love the toys, but it's that cartoon that gets me going more than anything in the whole world. I owe everything to the 2003 Cartoon. loved watching it as a kid, still love watching it. I love the Shredders in it, it got me to adore the Triceratons, and It's the Mirage accuracy in it that got me to pester my dad abt preordering TMNT Color Classics Volumes 1-3, and its reading those three books that sparked my love for comic books. the 2003 iteration is one of the best and I feel as though its often heavily overlooked, and really needs to get some love.
I mean either way I'd love to see them! I've got mixed feelings bc on one hand I want figures based on that cartoon so bad, but at the same time I feel like I want it to be based on the toys if Super7's doing it and saving the cartoon for some other company (probably NECA bc of how based I am I'm sorry guys😭) but in the long run I cant wait. 2003's my favorite iteration. It's always that first one that intros you into smt that you love most. for example I love all the Fall Out Boy songs I listen to but I will always love "Heaven, Iowa" the most because it was the first one I listened to and adored.
speaking of Fall Out Boy, y'all should do a wave of Fall Out Boy figures for ur music Ultimates!
and speaking of Music Ultimates: are y'all js gunna do Cliff Burton or are the other Metallica Members getting figures too?
When this line was first announced I wasn't interested in the vintage toy angle. Then I saw Rocksteady and Beebop and I was hooked. Now I'm a little sad that the line is going away from that. I totally understand that its out of their control. This is the way of things. But I was looking forward to seeing the likes of Pizza Face, Half Court, and Monty Moose show up in this line. And maybe we will. But it won't be anytime soon.
Kyle seems like a good dude. I don’t mind shifting some things from the vintage figures when an Ultimate comes out. I do hope they keep the full shift to new figures. Rat King is close enough for me now. I’m glad there’s a “sexy” head for those that want it. I don’t mind the change from cat belt to cat bandolier. The spirit of the vintage is still there. I love the idea and look of Nomad Leo (the action shots are beautiful), but that wouldn’t have flown if that was offered as the initial version of the character.
52:02 maybe we can see the „sexy RK“ head as a „young RK“ years before he went down into the sewers…nice to have him included as an alternate head
I think this wave looks very cool... I will buy at least 2 or 3 figures from it... Kyle was great on the interview and awesome for getting a better Rat King old and new at the same time...😀👍
I like how they keep adding these non vintage look Turtles in the line. Saves me money!
Great interview, was great to hear about the talks and insights behind the scenes. Still enjoying this line, while not my favorite character glad to see Rat King get the revamp. I was fine with sexy rat king, but not ok with the amount of accessories he came with or lack of evolution of the original. Definitely ok with S7s own designs sprinkled in here and there as long as they fit the line thematically. Would love to see more grotesque mutants first tho!

RE: Heavy Metal Raph - I am a metalhead, but I feel like he needs to be close to the original, but definitely worth a corpse paint alt head. Maybe some snap-on accessories that hide the zebra pants? And then just pivot to a line of turtles that can mash-up with some of the music licenses you have: Ghost Turtle, Cliff Turtle, Fiend Turtle, Dio Turtle - make it happen!
This new wave is definitely not as good as wave nine but I do love the makeover they gave rat king. And I am fascinated with the new damaged foot soldier. Rapping Michelangelo looks cool but honestly with Leonardo I think he’s the least interesting of the wave and honestly could’ve done someone else not to turtles in one wave.

A Graviton, Armaggon, Jagwar, Dreadmon, Verminator X, Ninjara, Maligna, War, Bellybomb, Monsterex, Chien Kahn, Toxeem, Cryin Hound, Lord Dregg, Hi-Tech, or even Last Ronin in the playmates style would be bad ass!

Rat King and Rappin' Mike are fantastic! The other two feel kind of lazy and unnecessary. I get that Super7 wants to do their own ideas, and those could be cool, but it would probably please more fans to get more characters and more Playmates updates first. There are still so many we need. To their credit, the Ninja April does look pretty neat and definitely took some original sculpting. Would most of us prefer Usagi, Napoleon, Hothead, etc.? I would think so.

Why not dip into the IDW versions? Also, its great to move in new directions but why randomly do it with Rat King? Kind of undermined by the Leonardo which seems just a rehash of the earlier Leo with new headwear.
I like the ven from super7. But i miss the Guns like one the neca ven...thats the only thing what i miss on the ven
Props to Super 7 for listening to the feedback and course correcting on the Rat King. I initially was not happy with the heads, because I do love the original fig, but im very happy to have that video game head because it is cool in it's own right!
It went from people buying the whole Super7 Tmnt ultimates line, to now picking up one or maybe two figures from a wave. I also will never pay $55 for an ultimate figure again. Especially for a concept figure. Not with multiple retailers slashing their prices up to 65 percent off. The collectors have lost hundreds of dollars from this company by overpaying…
Get back on the playmates track you started with and lower the price. Ditch the “I wanna make my own concept turtles” nobody cares about nor has extra money for. 🍻

For me the accessories are part of the figure, I miss the cat belt and the crossbow. Can you imagine Bebop, Rocksteady or Baxter without his signature weapons 😢 I don’t mind the new stuff, to bad this line change his direction

Except that's not true. I mean, sure at some point we will age out. But new collectors will not age in. Not in the same numbers. Kids of our age grew up on action figures. All the stuff we were fans of, Ninja Turtles, GI Joe, Transformers, Real Ghostbusters, Masters of the Universe, Thundercats, etc, was all made to sell toys. Even comic books back then, like Secret Wars, were made to sell toys. Action figures were a thing for our generation the same way model train sets were a thing for an older generation. The way model train sets died out, figures will eventually die out. Younger kids didn't grow up on action figures in the same way we did, so I don't see them collecting them the way we do as adults.

“Constructive” my ass, I’ve never been so embarrassed by the toy community than with their whining about a head sculpt. 🤦♂️ I appreciate Super7 trying new things and trying to add to canon in whatever way they can. 🙏
The complaints were a bit more than just the head sculpt. I’m glad one version of those heads is there, but the details and the accessories are now much closer to the vintage.
It wasn’t just the head sculpt. It was the lack of accessories and details on the body. I’m glad one version of the “sexy” heads is still there for those that liked it. I like the change from cat belt to cat bandolier. I wish there was still a crossbow, though. I would have liked the rats that were included in the first version, too.

No, I’m pretty sure the line was meant to be a carbon copy of the original Playmates line. That’s what pulled people in, updated articulation and larger versions of those sculpts. Sure, some characters got updated flourishes packed in with them and that was a great addition, but those updates weren’t permanently on the sculpt until that first Rat King. I agree with Kyle, changes need to be made to move the brand forward and keep it relevant. Both versions of Rat King deserve to exist, but a vintage Rat King needed to come first. Heck, that “Sexy” Rat King body could be a Super7 exclusive that you can only get on their site.@@sirdaveysockrocker
