Have you tried mulch? it keep the moisture and kill weeds.

I'm growing yellow doll this year that I got from Hoss tools. I'm super excited. Never eaten a yellow watermelon before. I plan on saving the seed to plant next year. Don't know what I'll get lol. I've tried a few times and am always surprised at what kind of frankenfruit I get as a result. What kind of seed did you plant? Are there yellow heirloom varieties of watermelons? Can I plant a certain type of yellow watermelon and expect the same plant from seed
