We grow tons now in Tote/Storage Containers, on the free, and I even just picked another one minutes ago for dinner dessert. Melons are one of the most wonderful to grow! Funny!🤣
After watching any of these videos I feel that you guys can't top yourselves, but then you surprise me with a new video where it's even better than the last. Love the humour and the banter as you share knowledge. Thanks heaps!
I LOVE you two together, bouncing off each others humor. Lol even when its only a little funny. And then you're hilarious!!! And btw, I learned something about gardening too! When a melon is ripe, the little twisty thing and the nearby leaf (spoon leaf?). Having fun while learning is the BEST!!! 💞🥳👍
Hey ya'all, Try honeydew w/ a scoop of berry (raspberry or black berry the best, but other berries work, too) sorbet or Italian ice in the center. Yum!!! 😋
I love Jacques being so excited by the fruits of their labor that he INHALES the food. I have no doubt he was just like that as a little kid, and it’s precious AF. But please don’t choke plzthx
I've been watching your channel for a while now and I absolutely love your warped sense of humour lads!!! Please through a few extra pats towards Bobcat xx
Have cantaloupe, honeydew and sugar baby watermelon that are just starting to grow in SoCal 10b. I hope they make it 😬 My Asian apple melon is further along with plenty flowers on it.
Like I said in your last video about the watermelons - they need the really hot weather to take off! Two years ago I planted Charleston Greys and I had 5 watermelons about 20lbs each. Again we had a heat wave and the melons took off. That was fun! FYI horses, cows and buffalo and more all love melons!
I have those tiny black ants, kind of annoying, but they pick cantaloupe for me at the perfect time. They smell the sweetness and chew right through the stem, always at the right time.
that's a great harvest y'all got! We didn't have much success this year growing our melon, heat might have had something to do with it. But we are looking forward to trying again next year and get a harvest like yours!
Vanilla bean ice cream and cantaloupe is amazing. I was introduced to it when I lived in Australia. Passion fruit is also amazing on vanilla ice cream.
Can you do a video on the updates of what composting method do you currently use in your garden….I know you showed different kinds in the past but I wanted to see what you stuck to (bokashi/worm bin/hot compost) and why you choose one over other in your existing garden
Love your cut board and dry board maybe you could put piano hinges on it and just be able to lift it up to lean against back window so you don’t have to completely remove it?
Loved the Chete Boys Melon Madness! Something so incredibly satisfying about growing your own melons and then savoring the first juicy bite! Like the feeling of victory after a long hot bug ridden summer LOL And yes please do a vid on your outdoor sink. Fabulous!
So funny guys! Finally grew 1 watermelon in zone 4b! Thanks to Fruition seeds for Ambrosia Watermelon! Voles ate all the rest, and all the beans, but I protected this one with onion bag netting and I keep the whole plant dry and warm by tucking it in at night or if rain /cold, under a shower curtain. Can’t wait to taste my first homegrown watermelon!
Off-topic suggestion...add a couple of hooks to the to the wall next to the sink for hanging the drying board, rather that leaning it. Saves a small amount of counter space and just looks neater. (My OCD kicking in)
Hey Kevin! Would it be better to stop watering the melons for about 2 days prior to picking in order to concentrate the sugars inside the inherent water volume, thereby giving you a sweeter tasting melon??
Good question, because I noticed my first sugar baby watermelon was not as sweet because I watered it more up to the day I picked it. But the second watermelon was much sweeter.
I grew those honey blondes here!!! They were soooo sweet when they were ripe. But they took forever to get ripe! I was like, "any day now..." "any day now..." for like 5 weeks. ;'D So worth it, though.
Great video! Love the dynamic you two have. I wish I could grow melons right now, but we just don't have enough space. I'm trying to convince my dad to grow them on his acerage 😆🤞 I was wondering if the size of the field spot matters or if it's just about the color of it?
Watermelon has to be chilled. Mine came in about a month ago. None got big, but they were tasty. I was told to use more fertilizer. I’m trying that with my second crop.
Literally if I had to choose to be someone other than me it would be both of you. Not one or the other, it has to be the epic garden friendship dynamic
Seriously where does Jacques get his hats with the massive brims lol? I've looked all over, up here in AB, Canada and at most it's like 3 inch rims lol, maybe 4 if I'm lucky (actually 4 is exaggerating, it's just 3 lol). That thing is bigger than Saturn's rings.
Between the weather, pests, and not fertilizing enough I only got a single baseball sized sugar baby watermelon this year. At least the 3 bites I had tasted good.
My brother does not like cantaloupe and insists it smells like latex paint. I also do not like cantaloupe (or any melon for that matter), but I really do like the way all of them smell, and I don't get the latex paint vibe from cantaloupe. He also likes cilantro and I do not, so there you go.
At least you guys don't have ground squirrels like I do. I have to cover mine in kinds of netting and shade clothe to keep the squirrels from going to town on my melons.
Favorite Garden Hermit line: "I can't even get a melon around here."
The fact that you guys nailed the impression of each other. So great!

Jacques is hilarious 😆 yes please I want to see a video on the wash station now that it’s complete!!

Loved the video, I'd like to see the outside sink details. And please include your chicken more, they're the bomb. :-)
Love you guys. Hilariously funny. Makes me enjoy your gardening programme the most. Love the progress on the homestead. Keep hydrated guys
Hey ya'all,
Try honeydew w/ a scoop of berry (raspberry or black berry the best, but other berries work, too) sorbet or Italian ice in the center. Yum!!! 😋
Greek yogurt would also be fun
I love Jacques being so excited by the fruits of their labor that he INHALES the food. I have no doubt he was just like that as a little kid, and it’s precious AF.

The yellow interior of that melon was insane! Looked so delicious! 🍈
The fanning the melons smells towards you was hilarious! 🤙🏽
Hello Adysen
One of the best intro's yet! I'd like to see more about the sink build.
My first melons are approaching ripeness, it's sooo exciting
I can't with you two! Y'all are having too much fun!!
I've been watching your channel for a while now and I absolutely love your warped sense of humour lads!!! Please through a few extra pats towards Bobcat xx

Cantaloupe milkshakes are the end of summer tradition. Omg soooo gooooddd
A+ to whoever edited. The chicken voice bubbles had me chucklin'

Try borax and sugar traps.
Yum on the yellow watermelon. Nice!
Hello Tia
I always enjoy the vibe you both have together. Just love the introductions at the beginning
Yes to the sink video! Chickens... funny. Melon tasting...lol'd. Intro...epic, as usual. 😏Thanks guys!
That beginning clip was hilarious.

The chicken speech/speaking text was hilarious.
Lots of vloggers could use you two for consulting on how to make a vlog fun and interesting!!!
Hello Kathy
It's SO much fun watching you guys discover things, Epically. Poor Jacque the fruits are resisting him 😂
Vanilla bean ice cream and cantaloupe is amazing. I was introduced to it when I lived in Australia. Passion fruit is also amazing on vanilla ice cream.
EPIC INTRO!!!!
The 2 of you are so fun to watch! 😃
I've enjoyed your videos. Especially this one. It was really helpful and inspiring.

Once again wondering if there is a PO box I can send you guys some stabilized/open-pollinated sungold seeds.
They’re in-sync laughter gets me every time! 😂

Always a good time with y'all!
Yum that look sooooo good!
I also love your chook house.
I live about 25 minutes from the Boos in Effingham, Illinois... nice choice!
Off-topic suggestion...add a couple of hooks to the to the wall next to the sink for hanging the drying board, rather that leaning it. Saves a small amount of counter space and just looks neater. (My OCD kicking in)
You two are not only informative but absolutely hilarious!!!

Yes. I've read that in many articles.
the yellow melon was the plot twist of the century

Melons like cantaloupe, etc. tastes great with ice cream. Also with lots of salt and pepper.
Bobca just hanging out on Jacques' arm :3 she's become quite cuddly
Very interested in post harvest station video!
I have similar yellow variety watermelon growing. I can't wait to taste it.
You guys are just having too much fun! I smiled the entire episode!
My melons did the same thing as your watermelons. I thought about pulling them up before the August 80s came to buffalo
There is one thing I learned from this video and it's that I need a machete.
So fun!
I bought a giant watermelon at the store and made it into preserves. I had to boil off like a gallon of water but it was worth it!
Great video! Love the dynamic you two have. I wish I could grow melons right now, but we just don't have enough space. I'm trying to convince my dad to grow them on his acerage 😆🤞 I was wondering if the size of the field spot matters or if it's just about the color of it?
awesome.... have a nice one guys
Kevin "I see smells!!!!" and Jaques choking on juicy melons. heat stroke?
Oh my goodness! You both got the mannerisms spot on!
I absolutely love the epic sink
Love you guys! 😂💕🍈
Good times!
I can't even with all the innuendos around this here video!
Watermelon has to be chilled. Mine came in about a month ago. None got big, but they were tasty. I was told to use more fertilizer. I’m trying that with my second crop.
Best intro yet I'm still laughing!!
I've notice watermelon fruit after 5ft of growth in my I.E. garden
Love the color of the front door
Great vid! Any tips regarding water requirements for Honey Melon / Cantaloupe? Also do you trim it back or leave it to do as it wishes?
That melon looked soo good 😊
omg the chicken dialogue has me dead! poor rufio! the guinea pig!
I live for this bromance 😍
I'd watch you two talk about anything!
Literally if I had to choose to be someone other than me it would be both of you. Not one or the other, it has to be the epic garden friendship dynamic
HOMESTEAD, I MEANT EPIC HOMESTEAD
Mmmmm. Now I want to eat some melons!
And a Bobca cameo! Hooray!
Knock, knock, knockin' on melon’s door
Hey, heeyyy, hey, hey, yeah
Hehehee..i like your video...the review of melon, watermelon...make me enjoy...
Hahahaha...my favorite gardening duo
Just a sudden thought, who’s doing the camera work? Do we ever see that person? Do they also enjoy the fruits of the homestead?
What variety of watermelon 🍉 was that with the 🍊 orange interior???
Great show I couldn't tell who was who.
His hat truly gets bigger with every episode 🤣
That was a pretty great intro 😂
Bruh not the “Cheti boys” screaming 🤣
Between the weather, pests, and not fertilizing enough I only got a single baseball sized sugar baby watermelon this year. At least the 3 bites I had tasted good.
It's watermelon time!!!!
Jacques got the new hat he wanted!
You two are hilarious!

This heat is just terrible... I'm sure the watermelons are lovin it though. Are you guys getting any of the smoke from the Hemet fire up here?
Love the intro lol 😂
When i was six my birthday melon was 64 pounds.
At least you guys don't have ground squirrels like I do. I have to cover mine in kinds of netting and shade clothe to keep the squirrels from going to town on my melons.
I wonder
If the melon
Fermented a bit in
The heat That may
Be
The gas smell
Korean, crenshaw and sugar babies are the mellons I grew🍉
"we're seeing a sweet smell" excuse me, what? Lol
Sometimes I think they'd be the cutest couple :D
ha, GAAAAAAAAY
Their girl friends might disagree. 😂
Love the chickens.
