    I'm 70 and a former racer. Forget what he's said. First, don't get a tuner program. 305 horspower and the V6 at over 4,000 rpm in any gear is enough to get you a fat ticket. Second, do these mods: Bilstein HD shocks/struts; 5.0 strut tower brace; Shelby rear shock tower brace--cost for all, about $1,300. The car will handle and give you a good ride. I added the best all season tires, turn off the traction control, and enjoy driving my Mustang on long, 4 hour runs.

      Thank you sir! My goal is to get a 2011-2014 V6 Mustang and make it handle better! I don't want more power from that engine but do want my Mustang handle well enough for road trip. My goal is to make it super reliable so your tips was very helpful. This videos is also helpful to make the car sounds nicer tho. Big power are for Coyotes and Shelby's engines.

    I kinda agree to you...
    1. Suspension/ Chassis - Coilovers, beefier Panhard, Upper and Lower Control arms, sway bars, Stop the Hop from Steeda is an alternate choice, BMR KMember is a good choice.
    2. Gears/ Clutch/ Driveshaft - 410 gears, stronger twin disc clutch and flywheel, one piece driveshaft
    3. Wheels/ Tires/ Breaks - I like 285/40/18 front and 305/40/18 with fully forged wheels and 6 piston front and 4 piston rear big breaks, avoid discs with holes, they tend to crack on track use, stick with slotted ones
    4. Intake/ Exhaust - Bigger intake, bigger Throttlebody with spacer, Long tube headers, highflow cats, Axlbacks
    5. Aero - adjustable front splitters, functional wing, sideskirts, rear side splitters, I like GT500 rear valance with diffusers, inlet and heat extractor hood
    6. Appearance - Racing stripes, Switchback halos and DRL board upgrade for headlamps, Amber halos for grille mounted fig lights, fake gas cap delete with plain decklid, quad tip exhausts, license plate lights LED swap

    For what it;s worth.. I had a 428CJ tricked up, and now have a V6 which is (after Tuned Header, K&N replacement, Airaid, and tune) more fun to drive on the twisty mountain roads and just generally at way less fuel burn, Custom tune makes it so.. Next .410 Driveshaft, Wattslink springs, and call it done. Pushing 72 years old. Pretty cool out so was cruising internet stumbled across this. Good luck with your efforts and in the end what you will have is what you made it to be. Thus the reward is yours. I have felt this way about quite a few things in life!

    Better drive-ability mods offered for a manual trans 2011 Mustang by a 70 year who has learned his lessons the hard way. 1. Bilstein HD shocks and struts 2. Strut tower brace (Ford GT) and rear shock brace (Shelby American) [Bilsteins and braces greatly improve handling while improving ride comfort--all you need--and much cheaper than handling packages with lowering springs, coil-overs, & etc]. 2. Barton 2 post bracket for manual shifter (so you can hit 3rd gear) 3. Cue ball shift knob (so you can shift into reverse easily) 4. K & N air filter for better breathing and mpg (aftermarket cold air boxes aren't better than what Ford provides). Forget $800 aftermarket exhaust systems, which provide too much droning noise on long drives and make music listening difficult. Tuner mods do nothing. The V6 cams don't change to radical until you hit 4200 rpm, which is when tuner mods make a difference. How often do you hit 4200 rpm?

    I have a 2014 Mustang v6 can anyone help me out with a question about final drive gear ratio.. the vehicle is a automatic.. currently has a 2.73 final drive ratio and hits 0-60MPH in 5.9 seconds or so which is plenty fast but for everyday city driving I feel like I have to be heavy on the throttle to get the power down I was wondering if having the dealership install 3.55 gears with the automatic would make a major difference from the 2.73 ? if not its not worth the money but if it changes the drive ability in city stop and go it would be worth it to me.. anyone know? I know in manuals the gears affect it more somehow but its the automatic that is my concern if it will be a noticeable difference

    • @camahavids2008
      @camahavids2008  6 років тому +2

      Blake Doughty I definitely agree with you, for anyone who spends a lot of time at race speeds or is trying to push a lot of power a driveshaft upgrade is crucial. However, for the average daily driver who wants to do things that will make a huge difference to the way their car looks and feels, they probably won't need a driveshaft.
