- This beginner's guide to the Nikon F100 SLR will get the film curious started with one of my favorite 35mm camera bodies ever made. This guide assumes you have some familiarity with DSLR or mirrorless cameras and that you're just dipping your toe into the world of film for the first time.
Looking for the custom settings menu (CSM) key/pocket guide mentioned in the video? You can find it on my site danfinnen.com at danfinnen.com/article/nikon-f...
Recommended lenses mentioned in the video:
Nikkor 50mm AF-D f1.8 (cheap, fantastic, still available new)
Nikkor 24-85mm AF-S f3.5-4.5 VR (lightweight everyday carry, good range and decent aperture)
There are too many to list here, but AF-S lenses will all work perfectly, AF-D lenses will work great and often be fantastic values. - Навчання та стиль
Got a busted door on your Nikon F100? I put together a guide on how to fix the latch! ua-cam.com/video/np5Od6N-NdI/v-deo.htmlsi=jL9ddx_sDcGsQSak
Great video. Just what the doctor ordered...as the cliche goes. I'm taking a photography class next month as part of my old-guy-get-a-hobby plan. I bought a Nikon F100 and was trying to decide what lens to buy. Your video was perfect for my situation. Thank you.
Im glad to see McLovin in something since Superbad. All jokes aside this was a great video. I had picked one up recently and this helped me a lot!
Just got one today, had been using the F60 so this is a great improvement. Thanks for your advice, great video.
New sub here, Can't wait to get some rolls thru my F100. Well done Dan.
VR is perfectly working with my F100.... it is soooo silent and smooth. I have testet it.
Nikon AF-S Micro 105mm f/2.8 G ED VR
Super clear explanations! Looking to buy one in a few days so this helped a ton!
Going around outside in street NYNY this week to try it after its' been sitting for 5 years.
I got F100, used in 2018. Shot 3 rolls then, 1 more is still in it. Thanks for reminder of 'window' FP 4 plus is what ASA?. Oh 125.
Needed to look at this video to remind me of how it works.
But happiest to walk around with the Zf I got in FEB. Went from Pentax K to Nikon F FX and DX at end of 2017.
Thanks I am into getting one soon and your video helped a lot .
I used two F1oo bodies up until Iswitched to digital. I’m thinking of buying another one now to play with.
Just received mine - any reason why the depth-of-field preview wouldn't be working with my Tamron SP Di VC USD 24-70?
Brilliant video - You should be a teacher! 😄📷👌
Thanks for a great video. What "mode" would you recommend for relatively beginner doing mostly outdoor landscape stuff?
You can't go wrong letting the camera take over exposure with program mode if you want to keep it easy!
do you know if its capable of multiple exposure?
Me: The F100 is nice
Mom: We have N8008 at home!
Does the film camera back have a plastic latch on the door? on my F80 it broke off.
Unfortunately that door latch is a major weak point on all Nikon film SLRs, I have a F100 and some contemporary cheaper models with the same issue. You can swap the door pretty easily but if the latch in the body is broken it's pretty difficult to fix.
Search replacement kit, it’s not so hard to repair
@@DanFinnen you can get a metal latch and it's super easy to replace
36 rolls of 36 res =1,296 exposures before changing or recharging batteries. That should over any one day’s shooting. Two bodies equals2,592 exposures.
