Unreal Engine 5.5 : Mastering Light Channels and Falloff

- In this video, I demonstrate how to master light channels and falloff settings in Unreal Engine 5.5 to create dynamic and realistic lighting scenarios. Using a cinematic scene with a character facing a burning airplane, I showcase the power of light channels to isolate lighting effects and avoid unwanted reflections on the ground. Additionally, I dive into using the "Use Inverse Squared Falloff" option and the "Light Falloff Exponent" parameter to control the intensity and interaction of firelight. These techniques can help you achieve more cinematic and polished lighting results in your scenes.

Never knew such a feature exists. This is gonna be of great help. Great content by the way.
Glad it helped!
Very Helpful Tut!. Which fire asset did you use on this tutorial? Looks awsome!
It was UltimateVFX pack
Awesome! Custom clothing on metahumans tutorial would be appreciated!
Noted!
Very Cool, thanks for explaining this!!!
No problem!
Good Work 👍, Could you please tell ne how did uou create the blueprint of light that is flickering
It's a bit complicated to explain it here!
@civareducation When the video is coming than 😅
Unfortunatly light channels dont work with mega lights... or mayby it works, but i dont know how
Let me check!
@@civareducation Yea! Do you find the way! Recently i discovered that they actualy kinda working but weird! For example if i change channels it's appear or dissapear, (light i mean) but if i take the mesh, and turn on for example 2 light channel, all immeadetly start working in all channels, and from this point it's no matter what channels have meshes, all lights lighting all channels and all meshes.. I can't figure out how to fix this... And usually i'm using different chanels for "extra lighting" like for characters, i usualy turn on 2 channel and add some lights only for 2 channel, just for light up the character and no tuch the enviroment, but with mega light it's not working...
Do you happen to know what "user flags" do in the MegaLights feature, and how to use them?
let me check!
