I was at this concert in Florida. They were really on it that night. Dave was the greatest! Blue Oyster Cult also. Whoever put this concert on here. Thank you!
I truly miss Lonesome Dave and Rod Price. One of my best friends took his own life and it devastated me. And another friend said your too depressed lets go see a gig and snap you out of it.Well needless to say I was really Stone Blue and Foghat totally helped me through. Every time I here this song I feel I lived it. R.I.P . all of the friends and loved ones anyone has lost music like this can renew and restore your energy and help you deal with life.
I lost one of my best friends Brad Delp a while back ...Every time I here the song FORPLAY/LONG TIME The line in that song "YOU'll FORGET ABOUT ME AFTER I'V BEEN GONE' R.I.P DAVE,ROD,AND BRAD ! You will be missed every day Keith
My dad had this album back in the early 80's and me and my brother would listen to it over and over through his YAMAHA stereo system. This song was probably my favorite. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Me and your dad may be the same age, I am 58 and my older brother of 5 yrs used to tune into don kirshners rock concert every Saturday night and foghat among many great talents of the mid 70s played that show, he also used to blast fool for the city album from 75 and foghat live from 77 was played lowd and they grew on me and I got a chance to see them in 83 and 93 in the Omni in Atlanta ga when they opened for triumph and in 93 when all 4 members re-united for the return of the boogymen tour
I agree with the comments below except for one thing: If foghat came out with a live album, I was sure it would be a double live album. this didn't have "my babe" or "Chatau 59 boogie," both of which were great live performances.
Fantastic! I saw this tour live (I believe it was 1981 with Blue Oyster Cult, although this was also broadcast as an MTV concert) and still think this is the best live version of "Stone Blue" ever!
Yes. I saw this tour too. It was in 1978. I them at Cobo in Detroit, before the album came out. I snuck a small cassette recorder in. This is so much better than the studio version
I saw this tour in 1981 in Syracuse. Blue Oyster Cults bus broke down and Foghat played for about 21/2 hours. They played one side of girls to chat and boys to bounce.
Thanks for posting! First Foghat's album I've ever listened and still my favorite. Tony Stevens, one of the best and most underrated bassists of rock 'n roll.
Definitely earlier 80's alot of heavy bands were kinda going the new wave shorter hair then the 1970's head bands etc. And shorter songs. 70's foghat was more cool over all to me anyways
I think this is their best song, I am sure it doesn't get played on rock stations anymore, they only play what's popular instead of what's good. They will play some good stuff but overall they don't play the best stuff,KMET LOS ANGELES DID.
You know, it's so strange.. back then a band that had been together for .. my god... 10 years! were Dino Saurs! But now, what I see is a band of barely out of their 20s young guys that haven't even been together for 10 years. It was only 10 years since Dave recorded "Looking In". And they're really tight as a band.. but they have absolutely NO stage show. Just 4 guys playing. I can't believe it was 30 years ago I sent in my demo to the *wrong* management company (I think) when there was TWO (!) Foghats. Dave's, and Roger's. Still have that demo..
Yes I think this was the 1981 tour. I remember thje white stage. I had snuck a cassette taprecorder in a binocular case. I listened to it alot until some ass from work stole it. I saw them with Starz. After this song he said "thank you, alllright! That's a new song. Might be on our next album. A song called stone Blue. Here's one you know now." It was Drivin' wheel.
this is post 1980...I saw Foghat July 8th 1980 with Pat Travers band at Cobo Arena and it was definitely Rod the Bottle Price playin guitar that night!!!!!!!!! coincidentally, this was the 3rd time I had seen them live in 1 of the "big houses" and in I believe 1997.... saw them in a popular rock bar in town the "Token Lounge" in Detroit area....and watched Rod play guitar standing 15 foot away....what a total trip.........Love that original Foghat format
He'd already left the band. This must be after 1980 because that's Erik on slide. Good job sounding like Rod, too, although he had a great rockabilly style all his own as well..
Yea this was 1980. I saw them twice on the East Coast with The Joe Perry Project and support. Erik did a great job and the records they recorded have grown on me over the years.
One of my most favorite songs, it kicks ass.
I was at this concert in Florida. They were really on it that night. Dave was the greatest! Blue Oyster Cult also. Whoever put this concert on here. Thank you!
If this was the concert in Lakeland 78 or 79 then I was there too
One of my 3 favorite songs of all time. Rod Price has to be the most underrated guitarist of all time, he was amazing.
How this record wasn't #1 is beyond me.
Agree
Man I loved this band - used to crank weights listening to Foghat Live every day back in 1982-1985.
You can never forget this band.
Love Foghat, Uriah Heep, Deep Purple (mark 2) and Asia. Great video!🎸
My favorite Foghat record.
I never heard this version, love it. Great rock-n-roll music at the height of the disco era
June 9, 1978 Syracuse. Great concert!!
This song is so rock and roll 😊🤘
I truly miss Lonesome Dave and Rod Price. One of my best friends took his own life and it devastated me. Your seriously fucked up -
I lost one of my best friends Brad Delp a while back ...Every time I here the song FORPLAY/LONG TIME The line in that song "YOU'll FORGET ABOUT ME AFTER I'V BEEN GONE' R.I.P DAVE,ROD,AND BRAD ! You will be missed every day Keith
Amen
Hadn't heard Foghat in many years! Great classic rock performers!
My dad had this album back in the early 80's and me and my brother would listen to it over and over through his YAMAHA stereo system. This song was probably my favorite. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Foghat just kicked ass!
They are a big part of rock history whether you like it or not.
FOGHAT = So many memories............Thank you guys!!!!!!
Foghat live album was a great album every song was beyond good it was great
So true!
I think it's One of the best live albums ever This bands extremely underrated
I agree with the comments below except for one thing: If foghat came out with a live album, I was sure it would be a double live album. this didn't have "my babe" or "Chatau 59 boogie," both of which were great live performances.
I use to drive around and listen to this on 8-track
Great song, one of the faves.
I bought their music and will continue to. They are big and gave us memories just like all the other bands.
1978 memorial day weekend with Ritchie Blackmores Rainbow and Foghat as Headliner. What A Show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!‼
Was that at Allentown fair grounds? Saw the same show
@michaelzukowski5541 Yes the hounds from Chicago were first warmup band. They sucked
I won this album from a call in contest back in 1978 from 99.5 KISS Rocks San Antonio, Texas. Still have the album.
Great song, GREAT band!
WoW ! one of my fav's from 70's teen years ...
40 años de escuhar FOGHAT!
spetacular gig , sad we wont never see something like that live
This song brings back the good old days there anit nothing wrong with being stoned blue .
Fantastic! I saw this tour live (I believe it was 1981 with Blue Oyster Cult, although this was also broadcast as an MTV concert) and still think this is the best live version of "Stone Blue" ever!

+marty3888 No men this is 1981
This is not 78. Rod left after Tight Shoes. This is 1980/81 tour with the white back line.
I saw this tour in 1981 in Syracuse. Blue Oyster Cults bus broke down and Foghat played for about 21/2 hours. They played one side of girls to chat and boys to bounce.
Erik didn't join the band till '81.
Definitely Rock n Roll Hall of Fame material
Thanks for posting! First Foghat's album I've ever listened and still my favorite. Tony Stevens, one of the best and most underrated bassists of rock 'n roll.
Had the blue vinyl version. Need to look.
A great band like the others of the time, never discount them.
In Memory of Lonesome Dave, Rod The Bottle, and Craig.
I was at this show....
God that solo was so sick
i really love this band..are they still alive?
Lonesome Dave was the greatest!
My buddy Dave Bondi passed out with his head in a speaker at the Spectrum in Philly. 1986 ? maybe ? Foghat concert.
and?
@@jimcoleman598 we lived. Rode home in the back of a F250 back to Lafayette Hill.
Could not hear for 3 days,,,,,
The was around the time of Girls to Chat, Boys to Bounce.
Definitely earlier 80's alot of heavy bands were kinda going the new wave shorter hair then the 1970's head bands etc. And shorter songs. 70's foghat was more cool over all to me anyways

Also in Memory of Erik.
Marty this isn't the 1978 tour. Erik Cartwright didn't join the band until 1981.
This is 1980 and that is Erik
I think this is the MTV concert recorded in the fall of 1981. Erik joined the band earlier that year.
Yes I think this was the 1981 tour. I remember thje white stage. I had snuck a cassette taprecorder in a binocular case. I listened to it alot until some ass from work stole it. Before there was Skinnard there was this.....................
How in the name of all that is good and true did sorry ass rap noise replace this great music????😵
Not Rod price on slide
Where is Rod Price??

Hopefully they didn't screw them out of the rock and roll hall of fame like they did with foreigner, ufo, and kansas.
Rod Price ?
No
Dave Peverett had a fucking voice on him….giminy cricket
When I was blue, stone blue, rock N roll helped me poop
THIS IS A GREAT VERSION OF THIS SONG EVEN THOUGH ITS NOT THE ORIGINAL MEMBERS.
Where is Rod Price ?
