I met Dave Peverett after a show in Jefferson City, Missouri in the mid 1990s when he was signing autographs for a few fans. He and his band were the nicest, most considerate rock and rollers I have ever had a chance to meet personally. They put on such an incredibly good show with only a couple hundred people in the audience. I have not seen a better rock and roll show before or since. Such a tragedy that he died soon after that.
I had a similar experience with Tommy shaw of styx after Mr roboto concert. He waited after for hours signing autographs.he told me I can great too.if I keep playing music!
In the early to mid 90s, Foghat appeared in Marquette, MI. Instead of appearing at Lakeview Arena, they appeared at a local nightclub. They set up in one corner of the dance floor. At first, the crowd stayed off of the floor and at the tables around it, but the band encouraged the people to come right on up, up close and personal, as it were. What a wonderful evening.
As a teenager in the 70s, I felt Foghat was real rock & roll. I was mesmerized by Dave Peverett's antics as a singer/front man/guitar player. When I look back at those days, I think what a privilege it was to be there in that era of great music.
Foghat is the pinnacle of rock and roll. It gets no better than Foghat, anywhere, at any time. They are the best. The current Foghat lineup rocks nicely, too. Long live rock and roll, when it's done right!!
i will never b itch about being old. i am so glad to have been a youngster and being able to grow up listing to the best bands and the best music ever , the 70's and 80's will never be out done ever., people my age and older have been blessed to have lived it. and when i think about it.. times where hard sometimes but so was the rock.. Kick azzz and GODSPEED to all who have passed.
As I watch this now after hearing many times when it was new I get a whole new appreciation for what these guys did, they had moments in time to where they made history with their music rest their souls
Man I was right there with ya!!!! They were great live, tight every time I saw them!!! Seen some great live bands, they're right there with them. Real rockers, even decked out in three piece suits!! Long live Rock!! I need it every night, long live Rock c'mon join the fight!!
We saw these guys in a a motel ballroom, in Kalispell, MT, one summer night and it was surreal to be standing in front of Dave and Rod, while they jammed my most favorite song of all time... Way To Go, Foghat!!!
Right on! Without a doubt, they are "the sound" of the band...So Blessed to have seen them back in their prime! Even at this age in his life, Dave was so much above the rest, his voice was incredible!
Lo Dave was the best frontman ever and Foghat is the best rock band ever. Rod Price was the best lead and slide player in history, too. Rock forever on, dudes!
Oh what a wonderful band...four of my all time favourite albums one after the other: Energized, Rock n Roll Outlaw, Fool for the City and Night Shift. RIP Dave and Rod...you made the 70's just that bit happier for me.
I was fortunate to see Foghat in the 70s, Energized tour, rock and roll outlaws tour, Fool for the city tour, driving wheel tour, Night shift tour, Stone Blue tour, Awesome memories!
@rockeir0107 Japan is a country. I speculate Foghat is talking about New York City, but I'm not sure. Because new york is a fun & busy place. It can't be about London, because it talks about 'my inner city child', which is a reference to pure & innocent people. And pure & innocent people are who built new york city. It is reflected in the big buildings & skyscrapers, and especially coney island.
I found this "album " in a box and I had'nt heard it for 20 yrs so awesome brings back a lot of memories from the 70's lol real rock and roll can't replace it too bad
Saw them in 1976 at the old Capital Center outside of Washington DC in Largo Md. I forgot who opened for them but I remember meeting Rod Price at a meet and greet maybe 2 hrs before the show at a local hotel and he was great. Saw them again in the 1990s.
Foghat,Aerosmith, Kiss,Ted Nugent,Ozzy,Van Halen The list goes on and on of Bands that would kick your ass during the 70's.The bands of today dont even come close to rocking like those bands did.
48 also... didn't smoke alot of weed but I played the hell outta this album. I was a rockin' little chick! Saw them in concert in 1975. It was my first concert ever! Memories!!!!!!!
I listen too rock bands like Rush,Saga,Journey,April wine,Dream Thetaer, and allways of course Foghat....!!!!! I have the foghat live album 1st. I will like to see in concert.
Thanks Killer for some LIVE CLASSIC ROCK AND ROLL! How many times in my life did I put a little blonde on my shoulders and rock out to this one! UP CLOSE & LOUD!!!!!!!!
@TONYMUELLERO1 the list is never ending...can't forget jimmy page, alvin lee or steve miller; especially smb's bingo with 'oh yeah' that'll be out in a couple weeks...never fear, hell raising ditties are alive and well
Twice I tried to see these guys. Once they were to warm up for Triumph but the lead singer had strepped throat or something so Head East played and they did well but not Foghat. Another time I saw them at a race track in East Moline IL and they played this song then a severe T-storm rolled in and I hid in an outhouse with some girl I didn't even know and rode out the storm. After that it was wading through 2 feet of water to get a beer but the concert was over after one song. Memorable!
Damn im must be getting old,I watched these guys open for Kiss back in 1976,The Destroyer Touer in Asheville N.C.,also saw them with Black Oak Arkansas and Brownsville Station.
Listen ta Roger beat those drums? Who else drums this heard, rockhounds? muttville1-spelling error. I meant who else beats the drums as hard as Mr. Roger Earl? He is my favorite drummer of all time!
This was a strange twist of fate. I listened Foghat a lot as a kid growing up in Iowa through the '70s. Then other things/responsibilities came a long and I lost track of where the band went. Then, in 2005 I hear Rod Price has just died in his home in WIlford, NH, about 30 minutes from Nashua, NH where I live now. Does anyone know when Rod originally moved to NH? I assume he moved to Wilton because it's both out of the way yet close enough to urban & transportation when you need it.
I would guess that Foghat is talking about New York City. They were based there in NYC for the longest time. R&R nastiness here...these guys are the greatest blues-rock band in the history of rock and roll. Period.
Saw Foghat, Styx, and Head East at Hirsch Coliseum in Shreveport, La. in '78. AWESOME concert. I remember this number , for sure. Thru the smoke cloud in the nosebleeds. Styx put on a tremendous show. Memories.
puppies: do yourselves a favor and by these live albums (on cd of course) Foghat Live, Cheap Trick Live @ Budokan, Kiss Alive (1st one), Led Zeppelin Song Remains the Same and Frampton Comes Alive! Then you can say you've heard the best!
En la época en que en México no había conciertos el album en vivo de Foghat era todo un agasajo para los rockeros, bueno aún lo es.¡Viva México cabrones¡
my 1st concert ever attended...Foghat! I was in 9th grade and too young to drive...'Climax Blues Band' was the opening act!.. 1978? i think... tickets were $6 or $7 each! Foghat rocked and i realized I wanted to be a rock star!!
⚡Most bands 🌠slow down a bit when they get older, 🌀 or can't quite hit the high notes like they used to 🎶~ Not these guys !! 🎸🥁🎤🌠~ They sound just as freaking HOT 🔥 as they did when these tunes first came out !! 🤟😎 ~ That's "Awesome" 🤘😝,, and "Amazing" !!🕺💃 ~ Talk about still got it⁉️~ They never skipped a beat❗~ VERY COOL!! 😎👍 🇺🇸
DAVE The Bridge between God n Man Dave confessed with his mouth at the top and in the middle of The Bridge with me face to face on my bike before a witness with him he said those words before me on his bike Jesus Christ, I believe in You Love and respect you David. A 36 thousand flyover cross pattern vapor trail made at the same spot from 36 000 ft by two Jets.

I dearly wish I had seen them with Dave and Rod. A void in my life I can never fill. 😢
This is rock and roll at its finest. Get these guys in the Hall Of Fame where they belong.
I love this group. Their sound is so unique. They have definitely influenced me. I believe the rock of the 70s was the greatest time for music ever.

As a teenager in the 70s, I felt Foghat was real rock & roll. I was mesmerized by Dave Peverett's antics as a singer/front man/guitar player. When I look back at those days, I think what a privilege it was to be there in that era of great music.

I can't watch this without feeling a profound sense of loss over Dave Peverett, Rod Price and Craig MacGregor.

i will never b itch about being old. i am so glad to have been a youngster and being able to grow up listing to the best bands and the best music ever , the 70's and 80's will never be out done ever., people my age and older have been blessed to have lived it. and when i think about it.. times where hard sometimes but so was the rock.. Oh what a wonderful band...four of my all time favourite albums one after the other: Energized, Rock n Roll Outlaw, Fool for the City and Night Shift. RIP Dave and Rod...you made the 70's just that bit happier for me.
Even in their early 50s they sure were locked in. 10/10 performance.
Real Rock, there is no substitute. Brings back a great time when rock was more about the music than the MONEY.
I love this freaking song. God, I miss this band...
