  • Everyone is mad as heck at the Razer Cobra Pro wireless mouse. For pretty good reason but still I wouldn't say this thing stinks. It's got some merit and good performance, it's just almost the polar opposite of what EVERYONE was asking for.

    I asked for this mouse. Optical switches, wireless, great battery life, decent RGB for fun, excellent sensor, 5 on-board memory slots, easy disassembly to clean the scroll wheel, etc. On the other hand, I didn't ask for your video. :D
    Edit: Okay clickbait thumbnail aside, your take wasn't bad. The weight is no problem whatsoever and anyone who thinks a few grams (representing a few pills of medicine) matters is nuts and has mosquito arms. But yeah, the rubber grips on the sides, that was not smart and will probably wear down. It depends a bit on how hard the surface is. If it wears down, you can always put grip tape on it, lol.
    Edit 2: Okay, I just realized something in teardown photos: The rubber side grips are extremely thin and are completely removable to reveal the normal plastic. It is no problem whatsoever. :) They are basically just pre-mounted grip tape on the outside of the shell. So if/when it wears down, just remove them and put new grip tape there.

    Why are people hating on this mouse so much? Its like barely 10 grams , sure a little heavy but im pretty sure there are people who like a little weight in their mouse , i just feel a slight weight can give a bit of control in fps games , where as with light mice i actually have to adjust accordingly. Just got this mouse yesterday and I’m loving it. Coming from using the Viper, I like the fact that it’s very similar to the v2 pro in form factor and way cheaper given that it also as the same polling rate of up to 8kHz. But honestly, I don’t feel any difference between 1kHz and 8kHz. Perhaps it’s just a gimmick. Weight is decent maybe just a tad bit heavier but I got used to it pretty quickly. RGB IS SIIIICCCKKK bro. Bottom line is every mouse regardless of the brand is subjective to the user. There is no perfect mouse. Every mouse has its “flaws”. What works for some may not work for others. Take care everybody 🤗

      I don't have them in hand, but looking at the pattern of the pre-cut ones from Razer, it doesn't look like they will unless you cut certain portions of it off. The glossy accents will cause problems and the viper mini pre-cut grips will overlap it.

    The weight isnt that much of an issue. Keep in mind the viper ultimate from years back had a weight of 74 grams. Last i remember no one really complained about the weight. So the cobra “weighing a lot” is a non issue.

  • @hearthwolfy
    @hearthwolfy 18 днів тому +1

    you see every time I hear the argument over weight of mice, I don't physically understand it, the reason for this is people say you can't be as snappy, but whats the point in having sensitivity in games if thats the case, just change the sensitivity to your preferability then it doesn't matter if its 96g like my razer deathadder essential, the hyperx pulse fire core at 87g or the razer cobra at 78g, This is the reason im going for the cobra for gaming and then for every day to day activities i'll probably go for the basilisk v3. Overall I feel as its down to what you feel is a good mouse and that you can't base it off everyone elses opinions except for your own

    • @shinigamialexx
      @shinigamialexx 16 днів тому +1

      You can be snappy but not precise, low weight allows you to snap to the target and then micro adjust really fast, when you have a lot of inertia because of the higher weight it becomes progresively harder and harder to do so, not to mention that playing for longer becomes more taxing on your hand with heavier mice. Low weight mice are just overall more desirable.

      @@GekkoTechGaming I have the mouse (as razer goes I have this, the viper v2 pro, dav3 pro, basilisk v3 pro and my older mamba wireless) and love how it performs except battery time because of the stupid RGB adding weight and consuming battery life - the later you may turn of on synapse, as I did, still the weight is there; also those side rubber grips that should have been made optional for those wanting it by buying the due tape and as it is reminds me of the 2018 mamba wireless that I still have and also love - but when those grips are worn... Luckily those of my mamba are still in great shape, but I'm not so sure those on the cobra as they seem of less quality, never should have been there in the first place by default. My opinion is that for a mouse which costs around $161 (here at my place this is what it costs) I would definitely say the charging deck should've been included. Like seriously, wtf. It's a wireless mouse Razer... What the hell were you thinking? :D Another think, 78g is heavy for you? Yea considering the other models it's heavy. I use an Asus ROG Pugio, guess the weight of it. without the cable it's 103 g. 🤣 At least according to it's specifications on the Asus main website. So yea, Cobra Pro would be a sweet cloud in my hands. But for $161? Jesus. In my country (Hungary) that's 55.000 Forints. Let me tell you here that the avarege salary here is around 250.000 HUF, that's the true data, not the one that was reported by the government. That's a freakin' lie. 😂

    • @GekkoTechGaming
      @GekkoTechGaming  4 місяці тому +1

      But definitely agree, the price stings, especially if you want the full package... And DANG for real that's insane to hear about Hungary, I'm sorry dude. Almost 1/5th of a year's salary for a mouse is crazy. The wired cobra is actually a really solid wired mouse if you are a fan of the shape and performs well too.
      It's... genuinely confusing how so many people come away from my video saying "bro I can't believe you think it's too heavy" when I said in the review that it's perfectly fine for me and I perform the same with the 78g cobra pro compared to the 49g viper mini SE lol. That's how the internet is I suppose. It'll be a problem for the mouse enthusiast crowd that has gotten too used to 50 gram featherweights being the 'norm' when it's really just a gimmick once you get to 60-ish grams imo.

      @@GekkoTechGaming I think you might misunderstood me in both cases. :P About the weight I was just funny with you. :P Nothing is wrong if a mouse is too heavy for anyone or not. Sorry If I sounded offensive. :P It was just a joke because I use a heavy mouse now and this one would be lightweight for me lol.
      On the other matter 250.000 is not a yearly salary. :P I meant it as monthly avarage, but yea. 1/5 of a month salary for just a mouse is hardcore, at least here. And this 250 is only an avarage, which means some even earns below it or well below sadly. :( Just for reference this 250k HUF is around 709 USD if we count today's currency, not sure what can be the monthly avarage in the US.

      I do see your point. But looking at the comments, it’s like one drop in a sea of the majority asking for only wireless and the Focus+ sensor. I do like wireless charging but it’s counterproductive to the original design philosophy by making it require an increase of weight as well as a substantial increase in price. Like I mentioned in the video, it isn’t a bad mouse, it gets good marks, it’s just a bad viper mini wireless. If they released this 2 years ago it would have slapped.
