@@rostyslavmochulskyi159 I bought both, but I kept the basilisk. The Logitech was a bit more heavier for gaming and the scroll wheel was rougher than the basilisk. Same here man, I just bought both. Heavily leaning towards the Basilisk, but I got a good deal on the G502x. Basilisk is 100% better, but the G502x was half the price.@@mysticqro950
Great review! I've been using the wired version of the Basilisk V3 since it came out as my main web browsing/light gaming mouse and can't say enough good things about it. I had to RMA my first one because the scroll click got a little wonky, but this second one has been working fine. When I see the wireless one on sale for cheap some day I'll definitely pick it up.
I own the g502 x, it's a premium feeling mouse - nice upgrade on the 2014 g502 I used previously. Switches are crisp and clicky, side button soft with no pre or post travel. Build quality excellent! It is what it says on the tin, heavier side of mice - great for productivity and I use it for any game that's not fps, although I have used for fps on high sense it's fine but micro adjustments are slightly hard. Just got my lamzu atlantis paired with artisan hayate otsu fx soft and oh man, world of difference.
Something I appreciate about best buy I'd being able to go in store to literally " feel " a product out. Choice came down to the basilisk and the 502. I went with the basilisk because I find it easier to reach all the side buttons with my thumb vs the 502.
I'm slowly leaving razer. I used to love their products. but I but a razer huntsman elite and my volume knob is trash. the wrist rest is more like a wrist breaker. I had the Razer mamba hyperflux. my mouse would legit disappear on my display until I reset the mouse, randomly during use. My basilisk V2 did the same thing. I'd have to either plug in or restart the mouse cleanly. I'm learning that razer isn't a good as I thought it used to be, and I was a mega fan boy.
I love my basilisk v3 pro. I have to admit their keyboards are very bad… but i seem to enjoy their mouse. I own both of these mice in the video, and I slightly like the basilisk more than the Logitech
To everyone. i would highly suggest taking the Logitech mouse. I've bad experience twice! with Razer wireless mouse where the Dongle doesnt work right after purchase.... like its so easy to break... i straight away return my Viper V2 Pro and exchange it with Logitech Pro X Superlight. Planning on buying this G502 X plus next.
i had 2 razer mice razer viper mini and basilisk x hyperspeed....razer viper mini's scroll wheel got faulty (it was unusable so i had to change) and for razer basilisk x i loved that mouse still to this day it is the mist confottable mouse i had but it lasted only a year left click issue and side button issue i love their mouses but my personal experience has been bad pretty far so now i am using logitech g502 x wired its going pretty smooth so far
@@Wvk5zc I know I'm reviving a 9 month old comment but I know what you mean. I have two Hero's one still has the original switches but I replaced the one I'm currently using with a upgraded set. The one's they were using weren't the best but someone online figured out a different brand/model of switch you can soldier in. That being said the new 502 Xs have switched to an optical sensor switch meaning it should no longer be an issue.
I have used plenty of mice and I can comfortably say that for the same price I'd go with the G502 X Lightspeed (not Plus as it only adds RGB) Simply because of feel and the fact is that I prefer 2 extra buttons and the ability to use a powerplay mat. I did have the Basilisk X Ultimate V2 and in my experience razer mice have terrible reliability. My old G903 lasted longer but I had the common issue with it giving double clicks. Luckily the G502 X line have changed their switches to avoid this issue.
I just changed my G502 for the Basilisk and that's a case of "more is less" - I was pressing the 2 additional buttons on top left all the time and without them the experience improves tenfold. Also the scroll wheel is softer to press which is a godsend to me, while steel being clicky when actually scrolling it.
For the the middle mouse click feels nice but eventually it would randomly click for some reason so I decided to remap the middle mouse button to mouse5 and mouse5 to the clutch button and disable the original middle mouse click, honestly it feels better since middle mouse is now easier to press without having to move index finger to press it.
@@zoterodisuke4398 My middle mouse button didn't really work anymore after a few months on 2 models. I had to really hard press the mouse wheel to get a middle click.
I have the razer, but the logitech is a pretty good contender I wouldn't mind using also. As mice use are very personal, I'd chose the B3 pro because I value the sensor a lot and I also prefer optical switches to for me not crisppy but louder hybrid switches combining optical/mechanical tech. That said both mice are "beasts" and any of them will serve you pretty well. A curiosity, I don't use this shape for gaming but rather for daily bases use, in which it's comfort will be unmatchable when compared to real "pro" segment, like the razer viper 2 pro, razer deathadder v3 pro, the here not yet released Logitech G Pro X superlight 2 with hero 2 sensors (it makes a lot of difference to me regarding the original), the lamzu thorn with 4kzh hyperpolling and sensor Pixar 3395 and optical switches, a couple of vaxee, the endgame gear xm2w, and for smaller mice the lamzu atlantis also 4kzh and, you may call me crazy but I do like it's performance regarding being overweighted, the razer cobra pro, also Focus Pro gen 3 sensors and optical switches. Great video, very appealing, I got a lot of fun watching it, guess I'll also subscribe. Cheers.
4:16 For those who are going to buy g502x. That scroll mode switching sound is incredibly loud. For me, this is an unacceptable volume level. This toggle button appears to be used frequently, but its volume level just isn't meant to be used too often. Therefore, I returned this mouse on the same day as I bought it. Also the mouse wheel is REALLY loud. In this video, it is no coincidence that Razer's wheel is spinning quieter. The rest of the moments were not so important for me, you can get used to them. For example, the mouse wheel doesn't feel well-fixed, but perhaps this disadvantage is due to the ability to tilt it on both sides. It is also worth paying attention to the crispy sounds during pressing. Crispy clicks is not just mentioned in the reviews, it can be annoying. But I'm sure someday you'll get used to it I was choosing the mouse for MMORPGs and strategy games, where the mouse wheel is often used to control the camera. That's why it's important for me to have a good mouse wheel and lots of buttons. Now I have a bloody TL80 (in my country at the time of purchase in 2018 it cost 3 times less than the g502x now costs)
@@jimskeuh I think Akayrahl is exaggerating i have the g502X and it's fine, im loudly gaming anyways when im playing, it isnt THAAAT loud. If Akaryrhal has a sensory problem then that's why he may be exageating and hey may he have it im nobody to judge, but dont base your buying decision out of that comment, the mouse is good if you like the weight and the shape.
I got both in hand rn because I couldn't decide. The Basilisk imo feels better in every way. The scroll wheel is dead silent except for the clutch mechanism at the end. The clicks sound better to me, the G502x rings and has like a reverb to it? Almost hollow sounding. Not a fan of it. Bluetooth connectivity is also huge, super useful for laptops and taking it to class and other places. The only reason I'm still considering the G502x is because I got it at half the price because bestbuy had the non-RGB version on sale + 20% off coupon for recycling an old mouse. The Basilisk is 100% better I believe, but is it $80 better when I don't care about the RGB? Thats the question. I also have questions of reliability. I'm confident the G502x will last and can easily be RMAd. not sure about the Basilisk @@olaokolaok
ever since all my previous Razer mouse became sticky to touch after a year or so of usage, I've gone over to Logitech. None of their mouse have this issue with prolonged usage...but i wonder how Razer holds up now cause Logitech is becoming "how ya doing" with their pricing...
@@farmageddon2978 No, the right mouse button sits flush with the side of the mouse. Only a moron designer and his gimp fanboy would try and defend that atrocity.
After using g502 proteus for several years I bought g502x lightspeed and... immediately returned it lol. New version is much louder than the old one, especially the wheel. It's somehow less smooth, rattles a bit and feels lower quality. Also while moving the mouse with free scroll mode on the wheel can move a little on its own, which was not the case in the older version.
@@NotEve26 I don't have a g502x anymore, so I won't tell you, but in the g502 proteus the right button indeed sometimes bounces and makes a hollow sound, it's more loose compared to the left button. However, I have a fingertip grip and I click the very bottom of the button, so I don't notice it. Maybe you have a defective mouse.
Basilisk has one huge software problem. It constantly disconnects. There are so many people who report this issue which has been around for years. Because of it I avoid razar like the plague.
@@liav1609 trust me. I did all of the above and more. It's certainly not just me either. This is a well known problem that has persisted for some time. Moreover and to add insult to injury. Removing synapse and it's other accompanying programs, which is required to use the mouse, is outrageously difficult! Some of the razer background programs which install when you download synapse are as difficult to eliminate from your system as a virus. Even after uninstalling Synapse and using cleaning software to remove some of the other background programs, there are still some residue Razer files that cannot be erased.
@@garbonomics sorry to hear that, my cousin has the same mouse and had this problem too which wad solved after connecting to the 3.0 port. I also dont like the Synapse but its ok with my keyboard
Good review. I'm interested in both mice but I'd like to know how's the scroll wheel click feedback. Reviews barely pay attention to it and imo it's a pretty important feature. I like the G502 and have a wireless G502 but the scroll wheel feedback when clicking it it's terrible, feels awful. How is it in the new models and how does it compare to the Basilisk in your opinion? Thanks.

For me, having a larger hand and being able to grip a keyboard from top to bottom with no issue... the basilisk seems to fit my hand better. that being said, I have to swap between multiple mice a day (I'm an IT person)... so I am slightly biased when it comes to how mice feel, being used to some really terrible feeling mice. That being said... again... the G502 lightspeed I have, feels considerably worse to move around (coincidentally on a logitech mouse mat), where the razer basilisk ultimate and v3 both feel smooth ... and almost weightless honestly. I also think I prefer the design of the larger scroll wheel being easier to interact with as well, the g502's wheel on the lightspeed model I have is fine, but the click latency is over 5ms so i'm possibly selling it and buying a v3 pro, or maybe just another mouse all together.
Something to consider is that the basilisk can only remap the functions of the mouse. The logitech can assign any key to any button on the mouse, whether it’s left click, or the letter A etc. Also in order for some of the buttons to work on the basilisk, it must be plugged in to a PC only while running synapse the logitech works on Mac as well as PC. The logitech is much more programmable.
Basilisk for me as I use my mouse with a desktop, work laptop and Pixelbook Go so Bluetooth is a must, in this day I don't why headset, keyboard and mouse producers don't include both wireless options as standard. My only wish is accessory providers would implement inbuilt memory for all products with RGB and other settings to be saved without having the software installed or start at boot.
Let me save you the time. They feel functionally the same. The Basilisk V3 is slightly comfier because it doesn't have the macro button taking up 1/3 of the left click button meaning you can "manspread" your index finger
Bought the g502 x returned it the same day, felt awful from the button clicks to the overall “ergo” feel. Purchased the basilisk v3 pro and was miles above in terms of ergonomics, build quality and button clicks. The bias towards Logitech needs to be toned down, it isn’t all that. As far as razer problems, it’s not that serious, have had razer orochi, a few versions of the Naga, a few death adder versions, and none of them have every broken down after years of use.
hey, i heard that lmb seems lighter on the new g502X. Could you compare the actuation force on a balance. Put it on, tare, and note how many grams it needs to click
Smart-Reel on the Razer is a gimmick, it is much more relialible to just hit the button thats right there than spin it and hope it engages. Logitec dropped the feature 10 years ago, it just didn't work well in practice. It is nice to finally see other mice getting free-spin though.
I don't think that the "did not work well in practice" is actually factual. I currently use a Logitech Master 3S which does have the smart reel functionality and it works WONDERS. I actually like it so much that I always leave the smart reel to full sensitivity so that I can easily shift into loose scroll mode easily. That allows me to switch from gaming to programming and back without any configuration or additional button press needed. I do miss the 1000Hz polling rate for gaming though, so seeing Razer's Basilisk offering me both smart reel and high polling really has caught my attention. Now if Razer actually offers me the same quality that Logitech does is another matter entirely, and I really do not have an answer for that .
@@gabrielgaspar3744 I tried the watered down version of the mouse, the "X Hyperspeed". The right mouse button has a sharp edge and the entire mouse just doesnt feel premium at all. There was no Smart reel on that one. If the Razer was a Porsche, the Master would be a Rolls.
Ive been using the razer mouse for a little bit and im loving it. It is by far one of my favorite mice as i do have the g502 x wired. I prefer the razer mouse just due to the dpi thing not being on the left click. The switches on the razer feel good tbh. I've seen a lot of people mention the scroll wheel, so I'll definitely pay attention to that.
What about the wake up time from sleep? Did Razer solve that since the first Basilisk? It was so annoying to wait in some cases several seconds for it to wake up.
Everything I have heard regarding both has me siding with logitech's. However, I tried both at Best Buy to just see, and despite having small hands, the basilisk actually felt better in my hand. But, that and the RGB are the only reasons why I would choose it. In any case, I'm still having trouble deciding which one I want.
I chose the basilisk v3 Pro since you could charge with any wireless charger (Qi charging) vs. Logitech, you have to buy their $100 powerplay mousepad.
@@mysticqro950 It's been 3 months since I made my comment, and I still haven't chosen. I've asked my brother or uncle for advise, and they both side with Logitech. But I think I'm leaning toward Basilisk.
I have to return my razer because it stopped working wirelessly, but works when wired, I heard dongle connection is an issue for some. I never had a problem with my ultimate and g502. I returned that basilisk after 2 months of use.
I owned Razer peripherals for years and it took a long time for me to accept they just are not of the same durable quality of Logitech. ALL my Razer products that I ever used died in 12-18 months time in one way or another. At first I thought I was just unlucky so I kept buying them but eventually I learned, just don't buy Razer. They are absolutely dogshit unless you only care if they work for 1-2 years max and in some cases much shorter. Logitech on the other hand generally last so long I replace them, not because they are broken, but because I'm just tired of using the same one after 4+ years.
@@magooch5 ever since this company appeared, and i saw their mouse that looked like the logitech g502, i was pissed, they are simply copy cats, trying to make knock off mouse of the most popular mouse logitech g502
I personally like the g502x because the basilisk v3 scrapes the side of my right ring finger because of my claw grip. But I think you forgot to mention that the basilisk v3 pro is also compatible with razers hyper polling 4k dongle
When I bought my basilisk, I filed down that edge of the mouse button just enough to get rid of the sharpness. Fixes it and you can't really tell that it's been filed.
A clear concise review beautifully presented. I subbed to your channel as you have a decent amount of subs but I would like to see your channel grow further :)
I got the Razer Basilisk and its so small for my hand, and the side button where the thumb goes, i kept hitting it, as its completly in the wrong place, needless to say sent it back, ill be getting the G502 X plus to see how that goes?
i have used shitty hyperx setups for almost a year. i realized razer is actually one of the best companies in the world and their stuff is way cooler and more op. im so happy i started a new journey to finish a razer setup. all i have left is. keyboard, headset and mic. then my life is complete. i have like bad hyperx products except for my china mouse. getting basilisk v3 pro tomorrow cant wait
Lets all be clear here, Razer has problems with scroll wheels and they tend to start jumping around to a point that $5 mouse can last longer. for me I went with the Logitech for that reason, build quality. I'm done with razer products! even my Razer keyboard volume knob is jumping all over.
it sucks that razer have problems too, I could never trust logitech anymore when my brother g502 and my g305 started to double click (his double clicking issue was about half a year earlier then mine) and so I started to look around and aim for my next being razer since they have nice optical switch mouses. The one thing that really nail it for me not to try logitech products ever again is when I try to contact customer service for my mouse issue and never got a reply back after waiting hours even though they said they'll get back to be in something minutes in chat and I try emailing them, it just sucks. I should have bought the mouse used if they were going to give me such shitty services.
I realize this is an old video already but the number 1 complaint I've heard about the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro is that it goes into sleep mode and it's difficult to wake. Have you had this issue?
not only basilisk v3 pro, my viper ultimate also having same problem, very annoying to wake my viper up after my pc get sleep for long time. i think this is razer mouse problem
THANKS for the helpful video; also: Shoot! I'd love to switch to a razer mouse, but I'm apparently the one guy in the whole world who's become dependent on ALL the buttons on his 502. Particularly, I'm not ready to lose the second set of thumb switches (which I use in Chrome, for instances, to close the active tab or open a new one.) I've been stuck on 502 variants for YEARS now, and it looks like that isn't going to change. Sigh.
Why the G502X? Ghub > Synapse Programmable buttons 13 > 11 Programmable options > Razer Script > Razer Ghub CPU utilisation = less than Synapse Lightforce switches > Razer optical 3rd Gen wireless Bug and software recognition issues = less than Razer's Price = less for Logitech compare to Razer Customer Service = Logitech G502X wired is cheaper than wired Basilisk V3
It is there and needs to be compared. Some people like to look at their desk when they aren't sitting there and it can be cool. Whether you turn it on or off it doesn't matter.
My razer basilisk ultimate has a problem with the synapse program, mouse n dock lights sometimes not sync. I must restart the program to fix the problem. It's very annoying
I made a reddit campaign for this a ways back and reached out to Logitech but my request went into the abyss. g700s had perfect ergo and side buttons, the way your thumb could roll to the upper buttons was magic and the dpi up-down was out of the way. Just lighten it up, add a LiPO, no RGB and add reliable switches. I'm on the 502 lightspeed (non x) and it's a hot mess so I'm considering the Basilisk though it's hard to part ways...Logitech got away from their ergo roots.
I'm still using my 700s. I love it, except the battery life that really sux. Hence I'm here looking at these 2 potential replacement for my 700s. Kinda sad.
Be warned: Razer does not honor the 2 year warranty they give. My Basilisk v3 started to break after only 22 months (tilt wheel) and after 2 weeks of jumping through email hoops they outright refused to repair/replace the mouse. They claim that the shop i bought it from is "not an authorized seller" (it's CSV, a popular online-shop in Germany). You can find the thread on the Razer subreddit and read for yourself. I'm extremely disappointed, and it seems i'm not the only one, judging by other posts. I'll never buy a product from this shady brand ever again.
But did you use the scroll wheel in free or locked mode? It seems to me that in free mode it will last longer, apart from that the mouse still works well? No double click. Wear and tear? I bought one on Aliexpress for $40 last week, I like it but I noticed that my hand is sweating a lot with it, I was thinking about buying an anti-sweat mouse grip or something like that, I bought the g502x and even found it more comfortable to use but I returned it because the noise of the lightforce clicks was too loud.
the new g502x plus was doa for me. left and right clicks did not work at all. tried on 3 different pcs. im loosing faith in logitech as this is not the first time i have had to return the same mouse multiple time. im going to razer. and throwing the power pad and my g502 in a drawer basilisk vs is the clear winner. but im also thinking of getting the mx master 3 but it does not work with power play! WHY!! bb only had one white in stock so now im forced to get a black one if i do exchange it
g502x "ceramic" sounding click is actually horrible unless you have sound cancelling headphones 24/7, but then the basilisk v3 is so narrow it feels uncomfortable in comparison (the shape of g502x is a massive upgrade despite seeming like it's the exact same as g502) g502x shape + basilisk click sound would be perfect
I agree with you, I used the g502x for 3 days and had to return it because the clicks on this mouse were horrible, if it had the sound of the basilisk v3 along with a paracord cable it would really be the perfect mouse, super light and comfortable, I'm using the basilisk v3 bought a week ago on Aliexpress, I liked it but my hand is sweating a lot, it could be the Razer rubbers... I'm thinking about buying an anti-sweat mouse grip or something like that...
@@Kevin_silvaaguiar sweating was the same for me, and my assumption was it's because the narrow profile of basilisk v3 meant the end of my palm/start of wrist area was constantly touching the mousepad, my grip style just felt more closed in and there was very little space to 'breathe', i could push my hand further up the mouse to adjust but then my thumb would be directly resting on the sniper button lol if you find the shape comfortable though i'd say that's good enough, i had other comfort issues besides the sweating, the hardware of the mouse is top tier among all the wired options with this "g502 style" shape
My major complaint about the razer basilisk v3 is the dpi shift thumb button, I use that button regularly as a crouch buttn in fps games, but it suddenly became loose and wobbly. Dunno whats wrong with it, but clearly its not very durable. Tempted to switch to a g502, because I originally ised a g402 and I just wany a reliable mouse with the new sensors, optical switches and reliable buttons. Also, both the g402 and razer basilisk, the side grips wear down without an ability to replace them. Kinda annoying.
I have the G502x plus with the charging mat and it is the best. I don't think you can go wrong with either but the convenience of having to wirelessly charge the mouse is nice.
i have both. Buy the 502x. Razers one sadly wont last long. Only has better grip and the gimmic smart wheel. Thats all. In every other aspect the Logitechs one is better
I’m very surprised u never mentioned the 4K polling rate that the Basilisk serves up that the G502 doesn’t have (it’s only at a normal 1k) - huge difference imo as most games support at least 2k polling rate rn and a decent amount support upwards of 8k
most games support at least 2k polling rate - Did you just randomly add that? Do the games say that on their description? 4k polling is a very small difference visually and generally you won't have any advantage over anyone using 1k polling in game - hence why 80% of the pro players are still on Logitech, Zowie, Vaxee, Xtrfy. And 8k? There's alot of games that don't play stable with 8khz. You're a classic case of someone who gets fooled by numbers.
@@tywoods7234 Apologies, I should’ve said “I’m pretty sure” as most people I’ve asked have said that they play 2k polling rate on their mice (that have the feature) with no issue but bump it down if the game doesn’t support it. Also, I’m pretty sure u process physical touch far quicker than what u see. Therefore, even if I can’t see the effect real-time, u SHOULD be able to feel the difference in 0.75ms (difference between 1k to 4k) but I have yet to try it - that’s the only reason I’m curious 🤷♂️ Idk why u felt the need to come at me but I’m just a curious don. Another thing I wanna mention is that we already know games like Apex, Valorant, and Overwatch 2 all support upwards of 8k polling rate. @@ViberzRLdude, 1kHz polling is already insane. We used to play at 256Hz not thaaaat long ago and it was OK. Even if you have an insane monitor, the very top of the top end, at 365Hz, at 1kHz pooling rate you're checking the position of the mouse almost 3 times between each frame, there's LITERALLY 0 chance any human could sense the difference. At 2KHz or 4kHz you're basically just increasing CPU load and reducing the mouse battery life for no reason. The main reason mice started increasing the pooling rate in the past was to increase maximum Gs, since very quick flick shots could cause the mouse to lose tracking. This problem has been loooooong solved, there's no way you can flick your mouse fast enough that it loses tracking.
the old g502 is so much better sounding with clicks than the new "upgrade" like that ding sounds it makes at the end of each click is so disgusting, i would honestly avoid it even if it was literally the best mice

I went with the basilisk because I find it easier to reach all the side buttons with my thumb vs the 502.
yeah when u have big hands then i say 502 is great thanks for your comment now i know iu did right choice >D
I love the Logitech G502x clicking, it’s like two rusty metal pipes hitting eachother❤
I was hoping to come across a video comparing these two products and bam...UA-cam blesses me lol. Thanks for doing this video!
The volume knob is a known problem easy to fix with cleaning it with electronic cleaner
I love my basilisk v3 pro. I have to admit their keyboards are very bad… but i seem to enjoy their mouse. I own both of these mice in the video, and I slightly like the basilisk more than the Logitech
@@mysticqro950 has your opinions change? trying to decide between picking up a 502xplus or basiliskv3pro
Been Logitech user all of my life. Got 502 X Plus for 120e, so that's what's coming, with Powerplay mat ;)
Logitech has proven to be extremely more durable than Razor. I will never go back to a Razor mouse simply for that reason.
Lol I am the opposite. Got so tired of logitech's double click issues
Never understood the hate. I own BOTH of the mice and never had a problem with either of them. I love them equally.
Never had any logitech product but I've had my razer basilisk x for 5 years and it works just as fine as the first day I bought it
i had 2 razer mice razer viper mini and basilisk x hyperspeed....razer viper mini's scroll wheel got faulty (it was unusable so i had to change) and for razer basilisk x i loved that mouse still to this day it is the mist confottable mouse i had but it lasted only a year left click issue and side button issue
i love their mouses but my personal experience has been bad pretty far so now i am using logitech g502 x wired its going pretty smooth so far
I have used plenty of mice and I can comfortably say that for the same price I'd go with the G502 X Lightspeed (not Plus as it only adds RGB)
Simply because of feel and the fact is that I prefer 2 extra buttons and the ability to use a powerplay mat.
After the 3rd replacement for my Basilisk V3, I'm totally switching to the G502. I'm tired.
Cheers.

For those who are going to buy g502x.
But I'm sure someday you'll get used to it
I was choosing the mouse for MMORPGs and strategy games, where the mouse wheel is often used to control the camera. That's why it's important for me to have a good mouse wheel and lots of buttons. Now I have a bloody TL80 (in my country at the time of purchase in 2018 it cost 3 times less than the g502x now costs)
so which mouse do you recommend then?
waa waa boo hoo my mouse is too loud
@@user_iOztnsBPrAA Waa waa boo hoo. My mouse doesn't have 2 left side buttons
I'm confident the G502x will last and can easily be RMAd. not sure about the Basilisk

G 502 has been out sense early 2010's and everyone knows the basilisk is a copy of the 502
ever since all my previous Razer mouse became sticky to touch after a year or so of usage, I've gone over to Logitech. None of their mouse have this issue with prolonged usage...but i wonder how Razer holds up now cause Logitech is becoming "how ya doing" with their pricing...
The Basilisk has a sharp edge that you feel every time you grip it. Its on the right mouse button on the right side.
you must have a gargoyle hand
@@farmageddon2978 No, the right mouse button sits flush with the side of the mouse. Only a moron designer and his gimp fanboy would try and defend that atrocity.
After using g502 proteus for several years I bought g502x lightspeed and... immediately returned it lol. New version is much louder than the old one, especially the wheel. It's somehow less smooth, rattles a bit and feels lower quality. Also while moving the mouse with free scroll mode on the wheel can move a little on its own, which was not the case in the older version.
Does ur right click make an annoying raffle sound like if it’s loose when u drag ur finger backwards on it?
@@NotEve26 I don't have a g502x anymore, so I won't tell you, but in the g502 proteus the right button indeed sometimes bounces and makes a hollow sound, it's more loose compared to the left button. However, I have a fingertip grip and I click the very bottom of the button, so I don't notice it. Maybe you have a defective mouse.
Basilisk has one huge software problem. It constantly disconnects. There are so many people who report this issue which has been around for years. Because of it I avoid razar like the plague.
Most of the times its because people connects the dongle to the USB 2.0 port, try connect yours to the USB 3.0 port

Thanks.

Thanks for the great video. I was already 90% sure I wanted the basilisk. Now I am 100% sure :)
The logitech is much more programmable.
it also comes with the left and right mouse buttons doa on arrival
you can remap every button on the basilisk but left click, and you're able to assign key functions to them as well.

What's weird is that older Logitech mice like the MX Master 2S have this option.
Great review, really well done. Thanks!
For me, I went for whichever can be easily disassembled and repaired. So I went for a G203
If the Razer was a Porsche, the Master would be a Rolls.

it sucks that razer have problems too, I could never trust logitech anymore when my brother g502 and my g305 started to double click (his double clicking issue was about half a year earlier then mine) and so I started to look around and aim for my next being razer since they have nice optical switch mouses. The pingy sound with the switches on G502X is HORRIBLE. An actual dealbraker.
still waiting for a successor to the g700s, mainly the forward sensor
I bought one on Aliexpress for $40 last week, I like it but I noticed that my hand is sweating a lot with it, I was thinking about buying an anti-sweat mouse grip or something like that, I bought the g502x and even found it more comfortable to use but I returned it because the noise of the lightforce clicks was too loud.

g502x "ceramic" sounding click is actually horrible unless you have sound cancelling headphones 24/7, but then the basilisk v3 is so narrow it feels uncomfortable in comparison (the shape of g502x is a massive upgrade despite seeming like it's the exact same as g502)
g502x shape + basilisk click sound would be perfect
I agree with you, I used the g502x for 3 days and had to return it because the clicks on this mouse were horrible, if it had the sound of the basilisk v3 along with a paracord cable it would really be the perfect mouse, super light and comfortable, I'm using the basilisk v3 bought a week ago on Aliexpress, I liked it but my hand is sweating a lot, it could be the Razer rubbers... I'm thinking about buying an anti-sweat mouse grip or something like that...
@@Kevin_silvaaguiar sweating was the same for me, and my assumption was it's because the narrow profile of basilisk v3 meant the end of my palm/start of wrist area was constantly touching the mousepad, my grip style just felt more closed in and there was very little space to 'breathe', i could push my hand further up the mouse to adjust but then my thumb would be directly resting on the sniper button lol
if you find the shape comfortable though i'd say that's good enough, i had other comfort issues besides the sweating, the hardware of the mouse is top tier among all the wired options with this "g502 style" shape
who LMB(left button) stiff?
My major complaint about the razer basilisk v3 is the dpi shift thumb button, I use that button regularly as a crouch buttn in fps games, but it suddenly became loose and wobbly. Dunno whats wrong with it, but clearly its not very durable. Tempted to switch to a g502, because I originally ised a g402 and I just wany a reliable mouse with the new sensors, optical switches and reliable buttons. i have both. Buy the 502x. Razers one sadly wont last long. Only has better grip and the gimmic smart wheel. Thats all. In every other aspect the Logitechs one is better
im using the wierd basalisk and i love it bc the rgb
why is it weird lol
I'm going to cop the razer. For gaming I don't use those buttons on the Logitech.
Nice! Hope it works well for you.
glorious model I 2 wireless coming out sometime this month
Oh nice. will have to check it out
Just canceled my order too many issues and can’t compare to either of these nice unfortunately it does not even have a side to side on the scroll.
Therefore, even if I can’t see the effect real-time, u SHOULD be able to feel the difference in 0.75ms (difference between 1k to 4k) but I have yet to try it - that’s the only reason I’m curious 🤷♂️
Idk why u felt the need to come at me but I’m just a curious don. Another thing I wanna mention is that we already know games like Apex, Valorant, and Overwatch 2 all support upwards of 8k polling rate.
U recon u could elaborate on the “fooled by numbers” part as well because I don’t see how improving the responsiveness and consistency of your mouse is such a dumb idea?
The 4k polling rate is only available with the receiver that you have to order separately though. When it's even available.
@@-Xaverius ye, it’s a pain to get if u don’t get the dock bundle (which I didn’t do because the dock’s over priced for what u get) - Iuckily got the dongle from the Razer store, not from scalpers, thanks to the stock email
My g502x plus does not last more than 2 years..go for basilisk
my 502x plus only have 10 months lifetime, now, it is my third one
Does the G502X come in White/RGB/wireless?
the old g502 is so much better sounding with clicks than the new "upgrade" like that ding sounds it makes at the end of each click is so disgusting, i would honestly avoid it even if it was literally the best mice
G502 X Plus, because the Razer has no MacOS support, at all.
G502 all the way its the original. And razer copy
Is it bad I own both of these mice, and I actually prefer the Basilisk more?
Razer copy but more nicely?
Razer copied and improved the ergo
Is adding weight not an option on the logitech any more? i have the original wired g502 before the hero sensor version and adding extra weights made it feel perfect.
Nope the weights r gonr
Its not popular among gamers to use weights now, theyre all about the super light stuff.
I use the logitech g502 x plus and I can comfortably say it’s the best mouse on the planet. I’ve used countless other mice in my life going back and forth from other brands
Smart reel is horrible tbh...
This is Razer ad and biased, even title says that since they wrote Razer first. L
This is su h a bad comment lol
Razer basiliak v3 pro seems to be one of the better bluetooth mice though
No one talks bout the razer bloatware?
Guys i have g502 hero, what u advice for me, should i pay the new one x plus wireless?
Just wait till the g502 *HERO* gets its signature double clicking issue. It usually happens between 3 to 12 months depending on your usage. If you don't use the 2 extra buttons on the g502, go for the basilisk v3 as it has the superior scroll wheel because of the smart-reel feature. Own them both and the smart-reel feature is perfect for productivity and apex legends.
Get the g502 x wired for cheaper.
@@NyangisKhan i have hero for years now haven't experience double clicking with it, you must be one those type of people that get mad and beat your equipment down. own g502x and im happy with it too.
"Spe-cifically". :) Great review otherwise.
razer copying logitech as always
I'm sorry, but the basilisk looks like a generic 5-10$ 'gaming' mouse you get from amazon
razer software is the worst made by man. never never never would buy another razer product for that simple fact.
Just delete the software after configuring your mouse
Just build your own! CNC machine and 3d printing and you are set.
