I have 2 very fluffy cats and I vacuum almost every day with my Dyson. I clean the filter every 3-4 weeks. Perhaps you've got way more pet hair than I do, but I have not found my V10, V11 or V15 clogs on pet hair. Perhaps a corded vacuum might better in your situation? I appreciate the comment.

I live in an apartment with two labradors and a cat and I've just finished filling the forms for servicing my Dyson V12 Slim. It's my third cordless vacuum in the last 5 years, after a Dirt Devil and a Bosch Athlet ProAnimal. They all work great for the first couple of months, then the fine dust starts to clog the internal airways and you start losing suction power or, in the case of the Dyson, it simply prints an error and stops. If you have pets, especially ones that shed a lot, you need a corded vacuum with replaceable bags and really good filtration and I'm surprised there wasn't something like a Miele C3 Cat & Dog on this list.

@@vacuumnerds interesting. In Europe, the Miele C3 Cat & Dog with the Turbo brush is around 400 Euros (the Electrobrush is another 200 Euros if you buy it separately, but right now it seems out of stock), while the Dyson V11 is around 600 Euros.
I just came back to this review to see if they had tested a Mielle. I'm debating between a Dyson, Mielle and Sebo at the moment - but I want a good review before deciding since they are all very expensive. @@genevievec.8002 we eventually bought a Sebo Airbelt E3 Premium and, while it is a bit heavy to do the power head, it's by far the best vacuum we've ever had. We walk barefoot around the house and you can actually feel the difference between vacuuming with the Dyson V12 Slim and the Sebo even though both technically come with a power head: the parquet feels mopped, not just vacuumed, and the carpets feel fluffy. Also, the Dyson simply can't pick up some of the dog hair since labradors have shorter hair which gets embedded into the carpet, but there are no problems with the Sebo.

I purchased a pet hair vacuum, the Dyson, after watching the Video and I paid so much money for it, over five hundred dollars and it doesn't work like in the video. After having it for 1 year, it started having problems and getting plugged all the time with so little pet hair and not picking up as I would have expected. The vacuum plugs up all the time and I have to stop and clear it up. I sweep the floor first, than I go over the floor with the Dyson vacuum to pick up the dust. It defeats the purpose of having a vacuum. Maybe I just got a bad Dyson, and maybe there are others that might say it works great for them. Too expense for me not to work after a year.
Do you clean the filter every 30 days? Maintenance is important for all bagless vacuums. I've been using my Dyson daily for a couple of years so far and it's been ok.
The thing I don't like about shark is they continue to make the vacuums harder and harder to work on. Lots of the other brands sell parts or can at least be disassembled, not the shark. Not even a simple thing like the belt that runs roller. Once your 400 dollar vacuum has a part failure well... time to spend another 400 and expect the same failure in however long. Do you experience this, and is there an alternative you’d suggest? I’d love cordless tbh because as you say, the best vacuum is the one you use the most.
Unfortunately most vacuums nowadays are *relatively* inexpensive and hard to repair. I have been extremely happy with Dyson products. I've used them for years without issue. They are more expensive, but they seem to be well built and there is 3rd party ecosystem around them.
I have an old dirt devil and that little vacuum does a better job then my expenses Dyson. For real! It will pick up pet hair, dirt and easy to clean it up. Too bad they don't make it anymore. Well at least my little purple dirt devil works great.
I have a Dyson outsize and it was great at first and now a year later doesn’t work well at all. It’s a shame because it was really expensive. It’s out of warranty so now I have an expensive piece of junk.. won’t buy another Dyson again. They’re not made for longevity anymore.

@@vacuumnerds I noticed your videos about vacuums quite a long time ago and I have been using shark vacuums for years. My favourite is the detective pro because of the design, looking and ease of use but Stratos is definitely the best shark cordless stick vacuum and the best one in the market if not it should be one of the best and I have used apex pro which isn’t even comparable with stratos. I think it’s definitely a mistake to not put stratos in the list, 3 of shark is many but stratos easily take any of these spots.
Hello vacuum nerds from the UK! I find this so entertaining. I have bought a couple of sharks in the past, but they both have got clogged in the tube between head and wand.
Why no Bissell vacuums????
They don't have sealed canisters. All the dander goes back into your room.
How come you didn’t test the Dirt Devil Pet Pro?
The Dirt Devil Pet Pro isn't made anymore
I have an old dirt devil and that little vacuum does a better job then my expenses Dyson. For real! It will pick up pet hair, dirt and easy to clean it up. Too bad they don't make it anymore.
Well at least my little purple dirt devil works great.
I have a Dyson outsize and it was great at first and now a year later doesn’t work well at all. It’s a shame because it was really expensive. It’s out of warranty so now I have an expensive piece of junk.. won’t buy another Dyson again. They’re not made for longevity anymore.
That’s a bummer to hear. What about getting it repaired?
I totally agree. Samething happen to my Dyson.
Oh look fluffy fur makers!
We have the fluffaroos here!
A bigger catch basin the better
You have worn white uniforms. So I will believe everything you say.
Our humor isn't for eveyone. Please forgive our meager attempts at entertainment in the appliance review space.
Bought a shark from Amazon and then it stop working
I'd try customer support at Shark.
It would be nice if they could talk a little faster.
I can't tell if you're serious or not. UA-cam allows you to adjust playback speed btw
It's a shame you're recommending Shark considering their frankly appaling quality and level of repairability. It'd be nice to see you test some bagged machines
Appreciate the feedback!
Sorry if I came off rude, I'd just woken up :)@@vacuumnerds
@@vacuumnerds This video thoroughly explains the problem with Shark

dyson isn't much better. over engineered over rated and some models need a shop for usual maintenance
