My pecs cramp when I get out of position on my deads as well. You lost lat tightness a little bit, which is why the bar popped out a little bit at the bottom, compared to 420kg. The pecs get pulled in when the lats round. This is exactly what happens to me if I’m not 100% tight on a “max” attempt.
This is my assessment, as a low 700s puller, on the best puller of all time lol

460Kg is massive. Lot of people talking it wasn´t as great, but Thor addressed this here, honestly is important, also gives a context to why the lift move like it moved, even Tristan noticed it. BTW, Huge deadlift by Tristan, that 420KG was impressive. Hope Thor bulks to 206, health is first though, but getting back to that weight will allow the suit to actually help, here is like Thor is doing it Raw anyway, and also strenght perks. Let´s get that 505KG

    • @facebookreal

It was indeed slow which is atypical for his lifts

    • @funhouse9566
      @funhouse9566 8 днів тому

Given there are lifters like Colton who can do 460k at 100kg bodyweight without suits and straps, its a bit less impressive. Some of these younger power lifters are monsters. Eddies 500kg was legendary but he can't clear 400kg without wraps and always struggled with his grip.

if those are standard size cinder blocks at 7 5/8 inches (76 inches), plus grout 3/8-1/2 inches x 10 = 4.5 to 5 inches..and if he stands straight with feet together he is 3 inches over, than equals 81 inches, or 6'8.5"-6'9". I’ve never heard his height be doubted…. But I appreciate you calculating that.
However, it seems like even the numbers you use for those estimation could account for being maybe a couple inches off. A couple inches is all somebody would realistically claim his height listing is off to begin with, so I’m not sure this clears anything up at all (if there even was something to clear up to begin with).
Regardless, you can see him have 4-6” on the majority of his competitors anyway

A lot of people here seem to not understand how a training cycle works. Do you always have perfect training days? Are you rested in the middle of a training cycle ready to pull your max? Of course not. We dont know how far out his competition is. Even at his current strength if properly rested he could probably pull 480. Also im not sure he is using his multiply suit yet. He mentioned he was having one made.

I love Brian/evolution’s soft belt while working/warming up on deadlifts and for carrying, etc. and will switch to a leather (I use a gymreaper with a patriot latch) belt when it gets heavier, but I’m like him, I don’t love them on together.
I will say I have the “hard” belt from evolution that goes with their soft belt, and it’s a decent combo for sure. They are comfortable together (vs a leather on top), but comes down to habit I suppose. Thanks Thor!! Killing it brotha

    • @jtf2dan

Depending on the source it's anywhere from 205-208, with these 3 numbers frequently being quoted: 208, 206 and 205. He was eating his 4th meal of the day at 3.00 pm and the Deadlifting started around an hour later. So I'm assuming whatever morning weight he had was exceeded. The next day Hafthor started boxing training with Skuli and he weighed himself at 208.
Personally, I go with 208 because we asked this question from Hafthor during a Twitch livestream about a year and a half ago and that was his answer as well.

Grahm Hicks pulled 470 at the world deadlift championship, Makarov, Singleton, and Heinla were second at 455 so 460 is possible. Mitchell Hooper and Trey Mitchell just pulled 470 at USA Strongman Championship. Dmitor Savintov hit 467.5 but it was pretty rough but you take 7kg and I think he could do it. There are probably more Im not thinking of.
Still 460 is huge and Thors still in training so its pretty nuts. 505 is looking more and more likely Im hyped to see him make the run

No, not quite... Up there, yes. But Big Z wipes the floor with Thor when it comes to accolades; Z probably is the strongest that ever lived. Most pro strongmen agree with that. WSMs, Arnold Classics and IFSA comps - Z had major control
Benni pulled 461kg with just a belt; no straps and stood there & smiled with it before placing it back down under full control
Thors 501kg pull IMO was better than Halls 500kg - Thors pull was smoother, a cleaner lockout and didn't nearly die backstage...!

460kg looked clean, bit shaky from the bottom, but as soon as it went it went good. 6-8 weeks and i reckon 460kg will be a smooth lift. 475-480kg next before the big 505-510kg. good luck Thor.

Unbelievable Hafthor…I love these videos..but here’s my question…random I know..have you ever been in a situation where your amazing strength got you or someone out of a bad situation…like someone stuck under something..or like saved someone from lifting something that was to heavy for them and they almost got seriously hurt…stuff like that…oh and also have your ever lifted someone with one hand like you see in the movies…just curious..love from Pittsburgh
