@@barbaranelson8617 George got cancer, so that isn't so unusual, although 58 is still younger than most cancer victims. And we all know the most shocking murder (since RFK and MLK in '68, and President Kennedy in '63) we had to go through once more in Dec. '80. He was only allowed to live to be 40, younger than all the others above except MLK who was only 39. The Beatles as a group were together since Ringo finished all the changes in joining in '62, so those 4 were together for 8 years; 13 years for John, Paul and George (1957-70). That is a long time to be so close, and it was inevitable that differences or disputes of one type or another would make them want to go their separate ways. Just like in many marriages, unfortunately.
Me and my mom (who actually remembers when the Beatles played on the Ed Sullivan Show in February of 1964) like to sing If I Fell as a duet; we're actually pretty good. Too bad I don't have monkey finger like George or I'd play the chords on my acoustic. My mom always said she loved George best because of his relationship with the camera. And I love all their quirks; they all have a different way of playing on stage. John's feet stand apart and he sort of bounces, Paul is stiff in one place and he sort of wiggles and nods, George does his little dance and shuffles, and Ringo does the head tilt to make his hair flip flop. They were good at being cute; that's why they had so much success in the beginning, but they were great geniuses at fine arts like this and literally changed their tune(s) and experimented until they just couldn't anymore. A decade. That's all it took for their names to become immortalized in music history. God, I love them. I was so torn by George's death in November of 2001 that I couldn't even stay at school that day. I was a sophomore in high school (grade 10 or year 10 to England and its former colonies) and I was distraught. Everyone made fun of me because I didn't like modern music. To this day, I think on what George said about it: "Modern day music is digital crap!" And I have to agree, except for a very few bands and singers like Abney Park, Jake Bugg, and Omnia etc... but they all play real instruments and stuff. Talent is running dry these days. Gotta love the classic rock bands. :)
B-E-A-T-L-E-S- The Beatles Make The Very Best MUSIC! …Nobody comes close to them their harmonies and vocals were amazing their musicianship is top of the line! Along with their song writing abilities are phenomenal. This group of artists was a miracle they. Influenced so many kids to become musicians. I’m so glad that I grew up with them in the 60’s!! The word Love is in so many of their songs. Their leader John Lennon spread love and peace and was cut down by a madman in the city he loved. Wish we could go back in time.
I was 11 then, in 1975 I first heard the Beatles on a record, after that I bought the record. Now this is the nastalgia for me of that wonderful time when they gave joy to everyone with their music. In Russia, love them very much!
This video for some odd reason has a dream like state to it, when I watch it, it feels like the beatles, just perfect. Maybe not perfect in how they did things but just how it should be. I probably am making no sense, but for the first time in a while I felt like a little like watching and listening to this and I have no idea why. I’ve always loved the beatles, but I’ve never been able to see any of them in concert. And that is one wish I feel, that sadly I will never be able to fulfill. And I read the comments and hear the stories of being able to see them in person. I can only imagine what it would be like. Yes here I sit. In the dark of my bedroom, 12:08 AM dreaming of another time with the beatles. Thank you John, Paul, George and most certainly Ringo the unforgettable Beatle in my book.
I also was one of those screaming girls at The Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, Canada in 1966. I’m now 68 and still get emotional when I listen to them sing. They were and will remain the best band ever to play.
One of my favorite things that came out of growing up in the 1960's was become a hard core Beatle fan which in many ways colored my life so different I have seen Hard Days night about 60 times and never get tired of it saw them on stage twice and George once. Their talent was immense personality refreshing and wonderful and just like me were growing and learning becoming who they were meant to be yes I love them then and now and they made growing up so much joyful in a world that was changing and evolving
I was 5 years old in 63. My sister was 13. She made me and my brother who was 7 come sit and watch the Beatles on Ed Sullivan . She said one day we'd be glad because they were changing music and this would be history. She always liked the Beatles , but was and still is a huge Elvis fan. I'm glad I had an older sister that brought me up to know when music was good with a meaning.
Going to my Senior years...yet the excitement of the persona and music of the Fab Four always make me a young and restless teen once again! Numero Uno es por los Beatles..solamente!
Just think, The Beatles start was like the start of any other high school rock band. Then POW! BAM!! The seeds of their vast talents exploded onto the World Stage. It wasn't only America they took by storm. There are Beatles fans in South America who still dress like hippies and they love The Beatles. It's almost half Century later and the music of The Beatles together and Separately influenced and continues to influence youth as well as adults. Their music effected our culture which continues to reverberate throughout The Universe.
Feb 9, 1964, my parents let me watch the Ed Sullivan Show, the Beatles were awesome, I was 9, that April I got a drum kit, but never figured out Ringo’s style, turns out he’s left handed, playing on right handed drum kit. Sheer genius. My fav has always been I Feel Fine! Then Nowhere Man.
"If I Fell," kind of has a Beach Boys type melody to it, which doesn't surprise me considering how much McCartney and Wilson were in contact with each other.
Tyler Mankins Sorry, but someone has to stick up for Johnny. Some people are too quick to credit John’s songs as part Paul’s too. I’m not saying you, necessarily, but some people do.
@@barbaranelson8617 Which you're completely right, but I guess my point is there was so much competition between Beatles and Beach Boys, that somewhere down the line, each band's going to have a song that sounds similar to the other band's style. And I feel like the melody of, "If I Fell," kind of has a Beach Boys type melody to it.
I'm curious to know which Beach Boys songs you are thinking of? What was in our charts from them in 1964 was 'I Get Around' which me and my friends loved but in no way did we hear any similarity between the two groups. By 1966 the Beach Boys had become more melodic so you could argue that it was the other way around!! Just a thought...
They would make us swooned with their distinctive trademark harmony, then hit us with their rock'n'roll sound that drove us crazy till we faint. What bliss! Those were the happy days. I hope my grand children can have that too one day.
No way to explain or define what The Beatles were. back then. Unless you grew up in the 60's and came to know them and love them. They filled your heart, your mind and your dreams with the magic, love, mystery and the "wonderment of life" in The 60's. To me, the greatest decade of my 70+ years. So many incredible things were going down in our world. Beatlemania and all that was associated with it directly or indirectly was amazing. it hit us like a comet from outer space--so hard, so bright and completely unexpected. They are still loved and appreciated by so many people and musicians today. Hard to realize that they were only together as a band for a few years--such a huge impact on the world.
as a beatle lover I feel it's my duty to teach the youngers about the beatles. it would be just unfare not to let them know about something so special.

Hi Phil. I'll be 72 in about 3 1/2 months. I also know the lyrics to just about everything they did. I think "A Hard Day's Night" had their best music. When I was a teenager, I liked them but wasn't a major fan at that time. Interestingly, my mother was a Beatles fan! As I reached my twenties, I realized how amazing their music was and continues to be. I often wonder, if John Lennon had not been murdered whether he would have continued writing and maybe collaborating with Paul, who, by the way, will be 80 next month!
Check out the channel on YT called The Beatles Vocal Harmony, There are two videos on “If I Fell” check them both out. It’s very interesting how the harmonies were done on the song.
''If I fell'' starts with descending chromatic chord that don't make sense if you just play the chords however.. Lennon sings that first line and it all ties together without a single bump which is the work of genius because the underlying chords are so far apart on the circle of 5ths. Just the first intro vocal is stunning and so damn clever. The Beatles music is riddled with unexpected chord changes and utterly sublime melody. This is why their music is studied in almost every music institution in the world. They were just that good:)
I still cry too!! I get it believe me!! every morning when I get ready for work at 70 years old I'm trial lawyer... I ask Alexa to play, and your Bird can sing, for no one, and if I fell and I sing alone every day around 5 o'clock in the morning, it's what I do for years.... and when if I felt is over, I say in my best, British accent, "thank you, very nice" .... and I gotta work on Long Island! And I tear up when Paul sings for no one and I'm singing harmony, if I fell. I can't explain it. It doesn't matter. It just is. I love them. They are my life in so many ways.
Joseph Pinador ~ Underrated? By who? Not you, not me, not by music critics, not by anyone I know, or the millions of fans who have this music in their blood. Who?
Joseph: I had to laugh at your remark, because whenever I listen carefully and "out of context" to pretty-well ANY Beatles' song I think to myself "This is surely one of the most under-rated of their songs." They were hit machines, and George Harrison had as much writing talent as the other two. The Beatles took over the world in a way never previously equaled, and certainly never to be matched again. It was their combination of charm, elegance, prodigious talent, British cachet, and the era - to say nothing of the guiding hand of one George Martin. The era permitted them to emerge from relative obscurity in a way that is impossible today.

Rose Blake PLEASE somebody tell me what the hell happened? John and George should still be alive and The Beatles should still be together.😥😥
Tru legend of all time,...waoooo Beatles forever 2023
The Beatles music is still one of the happiest 'events" going on in this turbulent mixed up world.....2019

TRUTH INDEED AMEN
I don't read long posts too often, but yours is very good, and very true.
Los Beatles siempre será él número #1 en todos él mundo
Boy thats some crafty ass song writing right there. 60 years ago rock on.
I also was one of those screaming girls at The Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, Canada in 1966. I’m now 68 and still get emotional when I listen to them sing. They were and will remain the best band ever to play.
Their early days until they stopped touring was pure gold.
Excellent video quality and HiFi audio. thank you.
This takes me back to 1964! First movie I saw with my dad and brothers and sisters. In early 60’s; become a 6 yr old all over again. :)
Hello Ruth
Oh my, George Harrison you're the cutest ever❤️
I was 5 years old in 63. My sister was 13. She made me and my brother who was 7 come sit and watch the Beatles on Ed Sullivan . She said one day we'd be glad because they were changing music and this would be history. She always liked the Beatles , but was and still is a huge Elvis fan. I'm glad I had an older sister that brought me up to know when music was good with a meaning.
Going to my Senior years...yet the excitement of the persona and music of the Fab Four always make me a young and restless teen once again! Numero Uno es por los Beatles..solamente!
I STILL LOVE THESE EARLY SONGS FROM THE BEATLES !! THANKS FOR SHARING! R.K. 3/16/2021
Truth Indeed AMEN
That man at the end looked very clean.
Greatest music of the 20th century
"If I Fell," kind of has a Beach Boys type melody to it, which doesn't surprise me considering how much McCartney and Wilson were in contact with each other.
Tyler Mankins If I Fell was John’s you idiot
@@barbaranelson8617 yes I know, but him and Paul both spent time with Brian. (No need for name calling by the way)
Tyler Mankins Sorry, but someone has to stick up for Johnny.
Listening the beatles in july 2019? 😊
All 3 songs are John's. He wrote 10 songs for this album/movie.
By starting The Beatles, John Lennon changed the culture of the world.
There's the Beatles, and then there's everyone else.
Yep. That about sums it up.
Doesn't get any better than this
They would make us swooned with their distinctive trademark harmony, then hit us with their rock'n'roll sound that drove us crazy till we faint.
I continue to be amazed at how little effort Ringo put into his drumming and it still sounds great.
Absolutely Amazing! My boys when I die I will be looking for John & George. Beautifully done! Thank you
Best group in the 60s loved them ❤️
Grew up listening & watching these guys & Elvis. Today's generation have no idea how lucky we were.
George was in Paul's shadow. He was the overlooked one. Watching his performance here I don't understand why.
alittlestrength George is my favorite solo Beatle. Amazing song writer and such an intelligent man. So sad when he passed away
He wasn't overlooked. Paul's passion for music is unmistakable
I adore the Beatles, always have done. Greatest band of all time. *♥️BEAUTIFUL♥️*
Estas canciones si son verdaderas joyas musicales!!! y no la basura de hoy en dia!!!
I know it's been said so many times before. But they really are... the greatest band of all time ! No one will ever match the Beatles !

Absolute gold. that's all that needs to be said....
The Beatles at their best. Which means the best there ever was.
Two Speke Kids lighting the world on fire...
An 'Off beat' drummer
An old Hofner Violin Bass
A crowd in 'Biblical' mass....
This was more than alchemy and so glad I was born in Speke Liverpool
Great combination of songs...Happy Christmas and keep safe everyone :)

Happy birthday Paul McCartney, you’re 80 and still alive doing shows!!!!
Back in the day, there was no one coming around to clear the theatre after the movie was over,so we would sit there for hours and watch the movie multiple times, then go back the next day and do the same thing.I saw “A hard days night 27 times!🩵
No matter how bad things get, The Beatles always make me feel better.
❤❤
Yes and I am 64 now and I still get thrilled to listen to them and I noticed that they always smiled while performing unlike todays musicians who all scowl like spoiled rotten kids
Agreed with you got to see Paul and Ringo Starr both live in concert and both were great concerts as well!
Me too !!! Its weird isn't it ? I don't take anti depressants I take the Beatles ! Always works !!!
Yep!!@@nikkiwroten2296
There will NEVER be another group like this again! Their talent, charisma, incredible chemistry created a magic we will never see again! Solid gold
And also, an individual and unique creativity, recognized mostly in John and Paul, but authentically possessed by George and Ringo, as well, and of course they came out much larger than the mere "sum of their parts."
For me, I could only think One Direction or Backstreet Boys as Beetles in modern age
@@jjisthename8269 There is actually no comparison between the Beatles and One Direction or the Backstreet Boys.
@@basilmarasco1975 sorry I meant it's my opinion
@@jjisthename8269 No need to be sorry, it's just that I'm almost old enough to remember the Beatles first hand so I know the difference between that time and this one.

That’s funny
Eartha Mist 44 likes Eartha is a special name of a dear friend who crossed over many years ago. Seeing The Beatles in Concert is the first thing I’m going back in time for. I will probably faint like many of those girls ❤️🐞💚🦋💜🕊👐🏻

I was 15 in ‘64 and even today at 72 years old, I still know the words to all of their songs. And I still love them.

The Beatles that’s all you need to know
Same here, only I was 8. My siblings and I learned every song-including harmonies. We lived and breathed The Beatles! I’ll always love them.
Que se siente tener 70 ?
"If I Fell" is one of their most beautiful melodies! And those harmonies!!
@39thala ... that's absolutely one of my favorites too !! (though I have to admit, one of many) ... 💜🎶💜
I agree with you!
Yes, I love that song so much! Xx
I just turned 70, and i still cry , they were and still are so incredible! We were there! How blessed we were!
It was simply the best time of my life. It was magic.
I cry sometimes too and it's because i am HAPPY !!! I am 68 !!!
AMEN!
Isn't it GREAT !!! So much HAPPINESS in this confusing world !!!@@ellenr3292
"Tell me why" is arguably one of the most underrated songs of all time.
Joseph Pinador ~ Underrated? By who? Not you, not me, not by music critics, not by anyone I know, or the millions of fans who have this music in their blood. Who?
@@slimshine953 Music in m blood...always...Beatles!!!
@@slimshine953 You're right. Not us. But I know a few people who claim to be Beatles fans who just recently seem to have just discovered this song...
@@jackfasga9657 ~ Yeah man!
Joseph: I had to laugh at your remark, because whenever I listen carefully and "out of context" to pretty-well ANY Beatles' song I think to myself "This is surely one of the most under-rated of their songs."
They were hit machines, and George Harrison had as much writing talent as the other two.
Those harmonies are just incredible.
There will never be anything like them again.
Who are the Beatles,
Jerry Mammoser Let’s hope not.
Not in our lifetime
@@jefffitzsimons8990 Not in ANYONE'S lifetime. It's been over a half-century now, and still no one approaching their status. Michael Jackson and Duran Duran in the 1980s would be the closest. But a distant closest.
