It’s difficult to convey how amazing the Beatles whole approach was for the time. They were deadpan funny, completely relaxed, and made everyone else look like they were trying too hard. This video was like travelling into the future.

I never really realized how strong John's voice was. It really carried all these great early 60's songs.
I really love John‘s voice. It is absolutely unique.
Paul had wider range and he certainly has a very beautiful tone, but the reason why I was able to spot a Beatles song immediately, when I was a little kid, was because of John’s raspy voice. It’s like The Beatles fingerprint. I think The Beatles would’ve never got so popular if not for John’s voice because it’s fantastic, it has a timber and texture that makes their harmonies sound so unique and recognizable.

I love how the Beatles were the greatest song writers in popular music but they had fun with their music. They didn't take themselves too seriously, which is astounding as they completely changed popular culture.
Part of their appeal was that they didn’t take themselves seriously and they were honest and real. There are clips on UA-cam of girls saying “They’re so natural!” It was that lack of of Showbizzy plastic phoniness, and comedian level wit that charmed the world.

Looking back on these years, these guys had a new hit released almost monthly. It was unbelievable!
They exuded so much confidence and coolness so early in their career. They knew they had the "it" factor. Their early stuff was the best, and then, they hit another level during Revolver and beyond. All of this great and transformative music, created in 6+ years, has and will continue to provide timeless excitement and enjoyment.

The Beatles changed modern music twice....in 1962 and in 1966 .... still the greatest and most influential band
They did NOT invent rock, my friend, artists like Elvis Presley (who is literally called the 'King of Rock 'n' Roll), Bill Haley, and Chuck Berry had been to the top with it multiple times. The Beatles started off only playing the popular music hits of the 1950's, being rock 'n' roll.
@degree7 I always have thought of 'rock' as a very vague genre, that is an umbrella term for more specific styles like Rockabilly, Psychedelic, Pop Rock, and so forth. I think the Beatles led to the revolution that gave birth to many of these sub genres, like Psychedelic and Acid Rock, among other things. What is true is that nobody was calling it 'Rock' in the 1950's, it was 'Rock & Roll'. I'm not sure when people began just referring to it as 'rock'. I see what you mean though

@@ivamenolike6393 one of the greatest guitar riffs ever.....played by lennon on his rick.....the point is that the feedback effect from the second 4th to the 7th was accidentally made by lennon, tha part wasn't even part of the song, it was like a clapperboard for lennon....that feedback came by mistake, not on purpose, but lennos said he loved that effect, so it became part of the song......well, when the single was released every guitarist tried to figure out how the fokk lennon had played that effect......back then, in seattle, a young guitarist heard that stuff and started to dig and dig on that feedback effect.....that young guy was hendrix, who later on arrived in london with a quite developed playin' with that feedback effect john invented...Lennon changed the whole scene with that pretty riff......hats off to lennon
