Haha. I think so. I'm Welsh and it definitely gets a better response than saying in China 英国yingguo. The Chinese thing yingguo is England. Saying I am Welsh confused them as most have never heard of it. I just say it's a small country in Europe but the last time we played football l against China Wales won 6-0. Mind you the Chinese also respect big powerful countries. A Chinese women commented when she heard a Chinese friend married a French person "why would she marry someone from a small country?". The World is full of racism sadly. But madness were/are full of talent, humour and I would suspect not a drop of petty racism.

Don't think Madness were racist in the slightest, in fact, at a time where racism was far more obvious in Britain, and would have got them a lot more fans straight away if they were, they played a style of music born in Jamaica that united youngsters like me to question why anyone would be. Two tone and the ska revival was a force for good, not just great music but the colour of your skin should be irrelevant.
